As Emily had finished the last steps for the previous potion it was time to start anew, as they had not just one but two potions to brew that could help them when trying to get the apples.

Having had a brief discussion about what the next best potion would be they came to the conclusion that they would be brewing the drowsiness draught, as it would hopefully put the redcaps in a state where they couldn't attack the 3 of them and thus they might not even have to use the fire breathing potion. At least that was what Mylo was hoping as they really didn't want to harm the creatures.

Deciding between the three of them that the previous order had worked well Mylo went first again, having all the necessary ingredients already gathered there wasn't much to do except start brewing again.

This wasn't a potion Mylo was all to familiar with so they took extra care to read the instructions very very carefully to make sure there were no mistakes made, looking at the first step they grabbed the mortar and added 1 Bdellium spoonful to it, glad that nothing spilt over the edge, then taking the pestle and grinding it to a sticky measure and added it to the cauldron.

After having added the first ingredient he looked around the table for the Chamomile leaf that had been picked up, not seeing it at first they felt a bit of panic rising up but it was equally as quickly squashed as they found it half lying under another ingredient. Taking a deep breath they grabbed the leaf and added it to the mortar and crushed it into a fine powder adding the 1 measure of finely ground chamomile to the other sticky ingredient they had previously added to the cauldron.

Putting the mortar and pestle away for the time being they heated the cauldron up to a medium heat counting down to 25 seconds already tapping @Poppy Lytle on the shoulder signalling that it was her turn to take over.

Mylo wasn't sure if their part had gone as well as it should have, but there would be no telling until they actually had to use the potions in the trial, so there would be no point in stressing about what could happen. They just had to focus on helping their teammates get the potion to a place where it would be useable.

Poppy was more focused this time around. She had already gotten to see each of her older teammates work once, so the wow factor was gone. Now was time to focus. She couldn’t afford to make any mistakes. She wasted no time jumping into action once her prefect signaled it was her turn.

She picked up the standard ingredient, and then experienced the slowest handful of seconds in her entire life. She expected she couldn’t possibly move fast enough to add the standard ingredient before the five seconds was up but she was a quick kid. Yet that made it so she was able to add the two measures of standard ingredient right on time. Which was perfect because she didn’t want to take any chances when crafting this potion. She had to be on her toes and making sure she avoiding any potential mistakes. The last thing she wanted was to be the one to let down her team. Also deep at heart she was a perfectionist, so it was in her nature to make sure everything was, well perfect.

She reheated the pot to medium heat. Why did potions have to have so many temperature changes? Then she waved her wand over the cauldron. Once that was done all she could do was wait. She would have to wait a while too, because with their standard cauldron she potion took an hour to brew. If the couple of seconds she had to wait before felt long, this hour was going to feel like a lifetime.

She didn’t want to simply waste away the hour though. She spent this extra time cleaning up anything the ravenclaw prefect left about durning his section. Then she made sure that the ingredients her other teammate would need was out and ready, if they weren’t already. However all of that still didn’t take that much time. What could she do? Would it look bad to just actually wait around the rest of the time? It would also probably look bad to start doing homework in the middle of an international competition. She tried not to look at the time. She found counting down always made time go slower. Yet she had to look at the time somewhat, otherwise she could miss the cue and waste away some of her teammates time.

After what felt like years, the time had passed and Poppy was able to complete her last step of adding another measure of standard ingredient before passing on the metaphorical torch.

Potioning with @Poppy Lytle and @Mylo Atkins
Emily was fired up the entire time during the last round once everything got kicked into gear. Even though the last few steps for their last potion were tedious, she still took it in full stride and energy. She waved to Casey who sat watching the events unfold, and even he seemed impressed by the vigour Emily brought to the table. With the first potion proving a success in the brewing phase, Emily was pumped to bounce straight into potion two. After a quick team chit-chat to decide the next one, everyone came to a unified agreement... The Drowsiness Draught!

Mylo took the charge like last time, getting the team off to a flying start as always as they kicked off the first few steps of the process, followed by Poppy who helped watch over the brew as it entered its heating and brewing phases. When all that was taken care of, the last of the steps were once again overseen by Emily, who was just as eager to finish on a high note like last time.

Tagging in after Poppy, Emily once again referred back to her mental checklist. Since Poppy added the other measure of standard ingredient, Emily set the brew on a high temperature and watched it heat up for two minutes. In the time it needed to heat, Emily hurried off in search of valerian sprigs which she found back with the other smorgasbord of ingredients set out for the competitors. Bang on time after two minutes, she added two of the valerian sprigs to the cauldron. Like every other ingredient in the checklist, the sprigs bubbled away into nothing as the brew absorbed them into its cooking clutches.

After that was done, Emily carefully took a spoon and stirred it counter-clockwise. She did this three times, being mindful not to cause any spillage as she did so. With one portion of the final stirring done, she stirred it again, only this time in the opposite direction, clockwise. She did this once, again careful not to splash herself or the rest of the work table in the process. As she was finishing up, it suddenly crossed her mind on how dangerous it might actually be to get some potion splashed onto oneself while they were brewing it. If she got some on herself now, would she immediately start to fall asleep now?

Alas, now was not the time to think about mistakes when Emily was one step away from finishing! She hoked her wand out and gave it a wave. With the last step completed and being greeted with the pink brew she was hoping for, she called her teammates back over. She gave herself a little "Go me!" pat on the back as she stood to admire the victory that she and her teammates managed to conjure.

"I'd say that's another brew for the win, you guys!"
