Although magic was something Angellica Rowley had grown up with, Hogwarts had been an experience to say the least. She'd never seen so many people her age in one location for one, and she hadn't really known what to expect. As with every morning since she had arrived (which hadn't been all that many), she'd made her way down the Ravenclaw tower, following older students down as they spoke of breakfast in the Great Hall. She made notes with every descent, hoping to soon master it as well.

Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry was large to say the least, and the many paths that lead to the various parts of the castle were still a work in progress for the blonde. She was thankful for prefects in all honesty, and just students in general she could follow to her final destination. It didn't stop her from getting lost here and there, or be sent on a wild goose hunt by an older student - something she quite disliked. Gifted with a sharp mind, and a more than decent memory however, she was slowly making her own map in her head. The moving staircases were still an obstacle, but after five days she didn't feel as completely helpless - for the most part.

Sat at the Ravenclaw table in her attire, hair half pulled up to keep stray locks from her eyes, she found a seat at the table that was fairly empty. Rather the early riser, she tended to join the Great Hall before the owls came in, before many students too. It was a perfect time to read over notes before class, and get into the mindset of the classes for the day. Before she settled in with books and a quill she pocketed a few snacks for her bag, an apple and a couple scones. Mornings left her less than peckish, and she was more the kind to snack throughout the day than simply eat meals. Especially with her nerves being the mess they were of late. A few times she looked around to smile at incoming students, hopeful to make a friend, or at the very least not seem completely closed off.

Since arriving at Hogwarts, only a few days earlier, the place had continued to impress and surprise River in so many ways. After going from not having a singe idea that the magical world even existed, to being trown into it head first, had caused a headache to build up.
The headache had continued to grow and become more and more painfull the more River learned of this new universe. Even just navigatong the long, twisting, stone corridors and stairs of the castle, helped that headache live on in her brain.
The strange thing is, River didn’t think any of it was a bad thing. It was all incredible, the best thing that ever happened to her. All the new information must simply have been too much to handle at once?
That’s how the headache crept up, and found itself a nice comfortable spot in the back left part of River’s head covered in a thick mane of red, curly hair.
The fact that magic even existed was something she had trouble comprehending. In moments, she wasn’t sure she even believed it at all, which is stupid considering the fact that she’d seen it all with her own eyes. Dreams don’t last this long, and she’d tried pinching herself many a times, though not procceeded to wake up. Her eyes never woke back in her bed at home in the morning, but always in the dormitories of the grand castle, with the rest of her house, her new family.

River entered the great hall, it was a nice morning, a quiet morning. She enjoyed those, the quiet mornings.
The ones where River went about her business, without being interupted by anyone else. The mornings where time was her own, and she managed to not get lost in the winding paths one can find on their journey to the breakfast table.
The red-haired girl turned and laid her eyes upon the Ravenclaw table. There were already people sitting around it, the blue colours of the house were embroided upon every student’s robes. Some were chatting, some eating, others studying or reading their books.
So far, River hadn’t really talked to many people, her mind had been to busy figuring everything out. Also, to be honest, socializing was never a strong side for River, and most of the time, she’d rather get stuck with her nose in a good book, than make conversation.
Today though, River hadn’t brought her book down to the table. She had the supplies she needed for the classes after, but nothing she’d really like to read at the moment.

Looking for a spot to sit down, River walked slowly up to the long table. There were multiple places free, but she was looking for a place next to someone who perhaps didn’t seem too scary.
River spotted a girl, sitting a little further up ahead, she seemed quite busy with work of some sort. Her hair was silver blonde, and ripled down by her shoulders. Perhaps that would be a good shot? Maybe River could even avoid conversation completely, as the girl seemed to be quite busy?

River approached the place where the girl was sitting, it looked like the space opposite her was free. She figured it would probably be polite to ask, before simply sitting down. «Pardon me», River began, attempting to get the attention of the ravenclaw, «I was just wondering if this spot is taken?», the red-head nodded down to the seat across the table from the girl. Her hands, clutching the strap of her burgundy red bag.

Potions, she had read the book cover to cover twice before making it to school. Though it might not have seemed the preferred class of choice for such a pretty young thing, Angellica had a love for things that required precision. Cooking, baking, potions, they were similar, and if she knew more about chemistry, she might have thrown that in too. Her gaze barely glanced the pages of the class they would be seeing later that afternoon, but it was comforting. A bit like reading over a favourite story, you knew the ending, but there was still some sense of elation reading through the action.

Whether it had been her attempts to smile at others, or the fact that she was keeping to herself, a fellow Raven made their way near by. "Of course," she said and realized that that statement could be taken opposite to what she meant. "You're welcome to join me, I'm not expecting anyone," she spoke more literally. Of course that only made her sound like a loner, and she wasn't sure whether or not that was something she wanted reflected upon herself. With a sigh, she took a moment to compose herself, closing her book and taking a drink of her pumpkin juice. At this right, she might just have to consider tea.

"I'm Angellica," the blonde introduced, taking in the redhead before her. The girl was pretty. Thin like herself with those rounded features that just seemed to appeal to a sense of pathos in others. And that mane of red hair was impressively vivid. Definitely a feature that would be easily recognizable. Though she was committing these tidbits to memory, there was no name to tie to the girl before her, not yet.

"Angellica Rowley." It wasn't like her name meant much, but her father had always made it a point to express who he was, as if it were some assertion of dominance. The blonde wasn't quite there yet, still rather chipper as she extended a hand over to the other girl. "New to Hogwarts too?" she asked, hopeful of the answer to be positive. It'd be nice to have someone in the same boat to converse with.
