P A S T
ReducioEssa is the youngest of thirteen children and the only witch born to both of her parents' bloodlines (although there were rumors that her mother's bloodline had once been mixed with Fae). Before this discovery, Essa's life was as mundane as it gets for a child growing up on the rocky coast of Wales. Her Summers were spent with her siblings, climbing the rocky shores, fishing, loitering on the docks, and exploring nearby flower fields. In the Winter, she played in the snow with her siblings, stayed close to her Nain, and attended school.
When Essa was nine, those around her began to see her differently. Essa and a few of her siblings were playing at the bottom of an ocean cliffside, searching for shellfish. The peace was broken when her older siblings began teasing her for her awkward movements. Soon, the nearby shearwaters swarmed them and swooped down to pull their hair. The children were disbursed, but after that, her family and town looked at her with new eyes. The youngest child of the Geddings' wasn't just a curious awkward thing, she could call birds down from the sky to attack people. Although the story got warped as it traveled from mouth to mouth, one thing was certain: Essa had magic.
