Thank you note to Dad (Finished)
Algebra-teacher father, Freddie Dixon, sent a beginner algebra textbook to Angie that she had forgotten at home.
Hogwarts
Thank you for sending me the "algebra basics" textbook. I had been looking for it in my trunk for ages and thought something had taken it (there are ever so many pets here) or something else happened to it. I miss doing algebra lessons with you at home. I shall need your help with the ones further in the back of the book. Doing two lesson types of magic and maths is difficult, and I cannot seem to figure out how to solve for x and y at the same time. Is that one of those things that you said is for a higher level than mine? What lesson are your students in? Do you want me to send finished problems back to you?
Here was one of them
2x+5=13
2x+5-5=13-5
2x=8
2x/2=8/2
x=4

Dearest Father, (I know that is not what I usually say in letters at home, but it's quiet quite fun to be formal!)Thank you for sending me the "algebra basics" textbook. Was that one right, father?
I hope it was. Anyway, soon it will be Christmas, and I'll see you again.Love,
