First Years Club - Carols decisions
The Rehearsal Room was decorated festively. Floating candles, steaming hot chocolate, and holiday cookies in various shapes sat ready to be enjoyed. The First Year paced in anticipation of her members joining. She had shown up early to set up and now… well now she waited.
They were going to decide where to Carol and then work on the magical Carols together.
Yolanda was from a muggle family – so all these songs and all this magic was so new to her – it was as exciting as it was overwhelming.
As each student trickled in Yolanda gave them a little sheet with a note.
*Let us know WHERE you’d like to Carol. Tell us a magical carol from your childhood, a muggle revision, or make up a new one! OR you can suggest one you really enjoy for singing.*
After a few trickled in Yolanda stood up and cleared her throat. Then she spoke.
“Okay conclave, where should we carol this year? And any ideas on what to sing? I don’t know all the Witch/wizard carols, but I can revise some muggle songs.” Yolanda was trying to portray confidence. Fake it ‘till you make it! “[color=#178223]Er – I – I’ll sing the first one![/color]” Yolanda was nervous but she knew it was worth it to put the new First Years at ease.

Smiling and hoping that made sense she waited to see what other suggestions they might have and songs they might sing.

𝕀t was hard to believe that the end of the year was upon them, though she'd only been at Hogwarts for four months, that time both felt like it had flown by and snuck by on a snails pace, and yet here they were, swiftly approaching the closing of the school, students were organising by those who were staying at Hogwarts over the festive season and those who were returning back to their homes.
Normally Accalia would be of the latter, returning back to her home in the Dunkeld ranges, the cozy hut of her parents, either that or turning instead to the grand Avalon estate, spending a holiday in training and advancing her own physical skills against the others of her clan, training for her coming of age rite, but this Christmas, well, it was her first at Hogwarts and it was too exciting for her to see what events kick off during the holidays to return, she would certainly visit as the school wound down, if indeed it did, but for now she was set to meet up with the first years club, it was the first meeting with them so she was quite excited.
As she arrived she saw the options for suggestions on where to carol and that they were welcome to use songs from their childhood, she immediately thought of the Avalon chorus, then shook her head, it would be nice to sing with new friends, but it was a little... exclusionary, so she would adjust some of the more warlike chanting and chorus to a more melodic, less military style.
Stepping in she overheard the last lines of a version of jingle spells, tapping her toes as she chimed in, she then gave her winning smile to Yolanda.
"Interesting song, not sure I heard it before, can I suggest we target the grand hall? Will have a lot of people moving through it I think...
Oh as for my song, this is the Avalon yule chant, I have made it a bit friendlier... just a bit..." she cleared her throat then began to raise her voice in tune of a spirited folk song.

In the glow, our courage sings.♬" she cheerfully recounted the song of her childhood, smiling broad as she ended.
"Accalia Avalon, I take it you're Yolanda? Thank you for organising this bit of fun" she remarked stepping up to the girl, though small, her build carried its own weight as she went in for a bone breaking hug.
