AEIOUSA𝕽aizel lunged towards him. The suddenness of this action from her took Prat by surprise, resulting in his instincts taking over. Before he could even process her intentions or the events unfolding before his very eyes. His hand shot out and connected. A swift, unintended blow right to her face. Time seemed to slow down as he felt the impact of their actions. One just as stunned as the other finding themselves standing in the aftermath of his unexpected countermove.
He had never previously hit anyone during a duel before, without or without intent. This new sensation was jarring for him to say the least. A stark contrast in comparison to the somewhat elegant exchange of spells he had found himself growing accustomed to. This was certainly not how he had anticipated their match unfolding. However the adrenaline rushing through his veins felt as if he had tapped into an uncharted territory. This duel was about to get a whole lot interesting than it initially seemed to be.
His knuckles tingled from the unexpected contact, no signs of pain however, only the sense of heightened awareness within him. He flexed his hand, feeling the power that had just surged through it and into Raizel's face. He glanced over at Alyssea, expecting a reprimand or perhaps an intervention, but most that came out was a small complaint about leaving fists for later. Prat was perplexed, "Are you not going to stop her?" He had to be prepared for any and all things now. If she was willing to break the traditional mold of duelling, then so was he. This was no longer a simple spellcasting match. He felt his own grin spreading across his face, mirroring Raizel's. If this was her attempt to get a no-holds-barred duel, he would certainly provide her the challenge she was looking for.
He prided himself on his adaptability and quick thinking, his inherent traits that had served him well so far. Before the next round even began, he was ready to rush her with no hesitation. His wand poised for a spell that would certainly make a huge change in the duel were he to land it. Moreover he was looking for an opportunity to use his newfound advantage—his fists. A tool that Raizel had certainly become close to in a short while. The Rules had changed and the game was so ON.

Maybe Prat was deaf or something akin to hard of hearing because, even though she had just asked them to leave their fist fights for later, he still lunged toward Raizel with the hopes of tackling her to the ground. Fantastic. Just... wow. Alyssea was gonna need a drink after this. She was allowed butterbeer from Hogsmeade now, right? And not just virgin butterbeer?
At least one of them had ears. Raizel waved her wand with another spell Alyssea hadn't really seen used in Duelling; it was used in Racing a lot, if Hufflepuff's latest race had anything to say for it. Unfortunately for the Gryffindor girl, the spell fizzled into a spark just at the tip of her wand and then, nothing. To be fair, having to dodge a tackle might've taken away the critical focus needed to cast the spell.
Alyssea sighed. "Look, if you're going to turn this into a fist fight, I might as well root you to the ground and finish it here." She rolled her eyes. "Seriously. Don't test me. I could do worse."
If only Alyssea could turn humans into spiders. She could turn teddy bears into spiders and other inanimate objects into birds! She made a mental note to look through her Transfiguration textbook again for any upper-level spells she could attempt.

AEIOUSA"Seriously. Don't test me. I could do worse." Prat could not take a threat like this seriously no matter how much he tried. Yet on the offhand she was indeed serious about it, he would rather not test her patience. He had seen enough before already and did not wish for an intervention amidst this ongoing duel. Deciding to behave himself, Prat brought up his wand again, enough distance between him and Raizel for the two to go back to usual methods of duelling instead of brawling it out like brutes.
With his previous attempt at a tackle missing, it was probably in his best interest to revert back to duelling too. A field he was much more knowledgeable in over martial arts. Specially with spell casting being a faster method of attack over throwing his fist one again. Seven rounds of almost negligent action had made him eager to start something. It was unusually rare for him to not faint after coming so far in a duel. Most would think a kid would change his ways after his first few losses,Prat however in his infinite wisdom the lad kept taking on stronger opponent after the other without giving himself much of a chance at recovery.
"Come on, do better" he spoke in an attempt to taunt Raizel, with how they both kept missing shots Prat did not expect his next one to hit either, or hers for that matter.

❂《 ⌜ November 14, 2024 ▎ Evening, before dinner ⌟▛▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔“Depulso-woah!” Dodging spells and casting is hard enough apparently, much more when your opponent tries to tackle you to the ground. It was a situation that she wasn’t expecting to be put into and in a way, it did make her panic as she thinks of the disadvantaged that she would need to deal with if Prat did manage to successfully pin her down. One, it’s gonna be a lot harder to cast spells. Two, she’ll probably need to rely on something else to get him off like her strength which she doesn’t have any confidence in at all. She did her best to avoid it, sacrificing her own attack just to do so.
Thinking about it though, in a real life fight between witches or wizards, such a tactic would be viable if people do get within your range. Hard to do but not impossible. She would need to thank Prat for letting her experience that and perhaps, use that as a motivation to learn more ways to defend other than casting spells. Throughout this duel, while she did try to do physical things, she still went for spells, relying heavily on her wand and magic. It was disappointing in a way. Is magic all she could do? Heck, she can’t even do well with it.
Do better
Prat’s right though, she should do better, not just in terms of duelling and spellcasting, but fighting overall. As much as she would like to try her hands on non magical ways, she’d rather not test Alyssea’s patience either. She’s already doing that with her non-duelling spells. “I could say the same to you.” She retorted, returning back to her original position and ready to get this thing back into a proper duel. Will she hit? Or miss? She’ll find out later on. “Why don’t we brawl it out after this?” She suggested with a grin.

Finally, they were both reasonable and raised their wands. Alyssea stretched her neck from side to side as she continued to watch. How long until she had to call this off, again? Her eyes wandered around the place, looking for some sort of time indicator in the room. Just a minute longer. Not too far from the end now.
As soon as the first word of Raizel's spell reached Alyssea's ears, she braced herself for the impact. While being a moderator meant she was far enough away from the blast that she would barely feel it, the debris from the Cracker Jinx could (and definitely would) blind her if she decided to have a less than ideal self preservation instinct. Unfortunately (or fortunately, for Prat), the impact never came and silver sparks fizzled out from the tip of Raizel's wand.
Using this as a means to strike, Prat threw a spell at Raizel's legs, one Alyssea was vaguely familiar with having used it on Zach during the Spring Ball. Raizel's legs sunk into the room's floor, a tree-like texture crawling up her legs and just over her hips. Alyssea gasped. How strong had the spell been? Thankfully, it stopped before it could completely engulf her. If it didn't Alyssea would've definitely had to intervene.

AEIOUSAHis eyes went wide when he realized that spell Rai was cooking, he had seen the effects of Cracker Jinx before and did not wish to relive that experience. Getting yourself and your vicinity blasted to bits was as bad 100th time as it was on the first. He had no intention of getting harmed with it once again. Thankfully for him Rai's spell fizzed out and he couldn't even cast successfully.
Prat's spell however was much more successful then he had anticipated, perhaps a bit too successful with how Rai's feet seemingly sunk into the room's floor. Seeing Rai stuck in that place, Prat had some terrible ideas. The control it took to hold himself back from punching Rai square in her jaw was taking it's mental toll on Prat. The face was right there, so was his fist. Only obstacle in his way was Alyssea, who might stop their duel or worse, he might see repercussions for his actions.
With these thoughts in mind, Prat adjusted his grip on his wand as he wondered what spell to use on Rai next. An inkling of an intent to forfeiting the game right now and crushing Rai's spirits with an undeserved victory. Something Prat knew would crush her no doubt.

When they said she doesn’t have enough magical capabilities in her because of her being not pureblood enough, this is probably what they meant. She would’ve loved to prove them wrong but with how things are going? Perhaps they are right. She wasn’t meant to reach anything, she was fated to fail from the very beginning since she was born due to that ‘tainted’ blood of hers.
Pathetic… truly pathetic…
This was starting to feel like a Deja Vu. Didn’t this happen before? During last year’s duels and the previous years. This same feeling was what caused her to quit in the first place. She thought that this time, it’d be different since she did manage to hone her skills more. She thought she was ready since she was enough to become at least a duelling co-captain. But it turns out, she was wrong. It was too early and to think that someone younger than her was beating her.
So laughable…
She can’t help but grin in a mocking way with how ridiculous she is right now, directing that at no one but herself. Rooted in place by her opponent, spells failing. Why does she even bother fighting when the outcome is already clear. She wasn’t ready to be on this piste, she wasn’t ready to be back here, she wasn’t ready to be facing off against those who are a lot more talented than she is when it comes to the duelling stage. She wasn’t meant to duel.
She opened her mouth, ready to forfeit for she is just prolonging the inevitable at this point but she bit her lip to stop the words from coming out. “C’mon! Give me your best shot!” Those words came out instead. If she’s going down anyway, why not do it just as what she used to do and that’s fighting till the bitter end.
