Dear Prat Pass,
Nice to send you an Owl; this is my first Owl I've ever sent! Prat Pass. Lovely name; I'll have to recall it so when I tell my parents, and all of my siblings (the youngest of seven I am), I can tell them I sent an Owl, my first, to Prat Pass. They love details, and I'm always forgetting names/places/dates... important details.
The Owl was white and red; it was not a Ferruginous Pygmy Owl but an Eastern Screech Owl. Who actually trills gently, rather than the screech I expected from the name. I tried to find out the Owl's name but I couldn't find any identifying information. I'd thought she would have a tag around her neck or a magic floating nametag by her wings! I did try to find out her name.
Prat Pass, my first Owl, the Eastern Screech owl a lovely white and rusty red... well, that seems like enough details.
I plan to study hard this year and learn as much as I can. I know very little about Owls, honestly, but I had a visual depiction of various Owls book and studied it hard. I've forgotten the name of the book though; I may have lost it somewhere already...
You are a second year so I hope being a first years Quill Pal isn't to much of a burden on you. I'm nervous but hopeful.

Glad to be on the receiving end of your first owl. My words may fail to convey the sincerity i wish they carried however it is truly an honor.
I'm the owl will greatly appreciate the lengths you went on to find it's information if it knew. Not many would attempt something similar once their work was done. And white is truly a color fit for the owls, something that seems very natural on them. Also ecstatic to know i shall be a potential point of interest among you conversations with your family among all the details of the magical world you have stepped into. Are any of your other siblings magically inclined or is it just you?
As for your plans to study hard during the years seems awfully remnant of what a typical ravenclaw would think and go on to pursue. I for one have never had to exert effort in school for as long as i could remember and thus do not plan on doing such things this year either.
And i do not find it so much of a burden to do this with a second year either, it's good to nervous, makes you cautious and ready. I hope you find your book soon.

Your words are so kind! My siblings are all older but none magically inclined nor my parents nor any family members (that I know of!). Perhaps an ancestor of mine hid their magic – or perhaps not – in any manner I am quite glad to be here at Hogwarts where the magic is happening!
I study to try and keep up with my fellow Ravenclaw – my father told me to ‘focus’ and something else – I can’t recall… I will certainly be telling them much about this magic world.
It is good you do not have to put in much effort for school. I can tell you’re ambitious, as I hear Slytherin are, and saw you are the Duelling co-captain – that is so cool! Part of the reason I’m studying is to get spells to join the Duelling team. A new Ravenclaw Prefect told me all about the Duelling – something to aspire to.
Cautious and ready sounds good to me; still looking for my book.
Happy duelling – maybe it’ll be against me on the Ravenclaw team one day!

My words are merely what you choose to judge them as. An ancestor being magical could certainly be a possibility, perhaps one you might even discover as you move through the years. I am glad you've come to enjoy the castle and the people it houses. But be careful to keep magical secrets hidden from muggles that might not be your family, you wouldn't wanna break the stature of secrecy of course.
And yes all Slytherins are ambitious as the ravenclaws are the smart ones, though there's always the exceptions that prove the rule. But yes will be awaiting your arrival to the piste during an official matchup. Might even cheer for you as long as it is not against My Vipers. Goodluck with getting on the roster.

I suppose it would be a nice experience to interact with, or even learn if the stars align. Quid seems brutal at first glance, but as fun too. Broom racing alludes me as of now. Wishing I had more time lately – trying to write more!
Indeed I wanted to update you on my first Duel! We lost…and I was knocked out, but it was a fine battle! I have been studying more and will have more spells available to Duel with now. I love learning spells and brewing potions!
As a Dueling Captain you have much more experience than me (of course!) and I am in awe of your status. Very ambitious. I’m happy to join the Ravenclaw Dueling team as a new member (for now
) .
I don’t know much about Quidditch or Broom Racing – but I’m sure it’s quite interesting. It’s all so new to me, I’m still a bit scared of flying… I know I won’t fall, or think so anyway, but I’m very careful about things like that. Heights and such. Make me dizzy!
