Rosette watched, out of the corner of her eye, as Alyssea finished her penality lap just to go back lapping as she was caught. "Oh, not her day," she said to herself as she continued with being on save mode. Next she watched as Sage was knocked off her broom, she was too slow getting there in time. She hoped next time she wouldn't miss a teammate. "Sorry, Sage," she murmured an apology for not being there for her. "You okay?" she checked on Avery.

After her string of successive goals, Jess was brimming with confidence as she took a victory lap around the pitch. That is, until one of the Gryffindor Chasers finally seemed interested in scoring for his team. It was Finnegan Connor, a Third Year notorious for his consistent ability to grab the Quaffle and score, no matter his opponent. Jess shivered slightly, fearful of the outcome of their contest. Stop it! You’ve just won your team 50 points in a row. All you need to do is prove yourself again. With a furrowed brow, Jess resumed her position above Dan, poised to play.

As Dan threw the Quaffle in the air, Jess grabbed for it… but she was met with thin air - Connor was already threading his way through the chaos, Quaffle safely in his hand, before sending it straight into the… undefended hoops.

“No!” Jess yelled, aghast. “Why don’t we have anyone defending the hoops?” She knew that was trying to avoid responsibility for her failed attempt to contest the Quaffle, but she didn’t care.

Again, Dan threw the Quaffle in the air, and again Jess was incapable of challenging Connor for the points. She growled in frustration as he returned smugly, calling out, “Sorry, McLeod, keep trying”. She was in a bad enough mood after embarrassing her team - his taunting hardly helped the situation.

“Having a good time making fun of a Second Year, are we?”, Jess shouted back, but she quickly blushed with embarrassment as he zipped away, inevitably clutching the Quaffle. Don’t be like that! Jess thought to yourself as she helplessly tried to shadow Connor’s actions. You’re letting the pressure of the game get to your head. At primary, Jess had always been known for her even temper and collected composure during fixtures, so she knew that something was wrong.

By the end of her dreadful performance, Connor had scored 50 points, effectively nulling her prior goals. “Better luck next time”, Jess muttered begrudgingly to herself, desperately trying to get her head back in the game.

Having spotted the snitch, Daphne grinned excitedly, not wasting any time in looking around to see if others had noticed if she had seen it or not. The blonde girl tightened her grip on her broom with one hand and would out stretch out her other arm, trying to reach and catch the snitch.

After my first round of getting my head taken off by a bludger. I was told to keep a lookout for falling teammates by Pax. It was a bit underwhelming but I can't complain. After that whack to the head, I think it's better for me to be out of the spotlight for a bit. No one fell off their brooms. Well, no Gryffindors fell off their brooms, can't say the same for Hufflepuff though. I saw another one of their beater(Sage) get smacked off her broom. Over to the quaffle, we've scored 5 this round bring the score back to 70-50. All of them five were made by Finnegan.

Quaffle

Finnegan was still a monster for the quaffle, but it seems Gryffindor had let his skill go to their head. In their arrogance, they had left their hoops unguarded. They were quickly humbled by Atlas, scoring twice out of 5, ruining Finney's streak.

"I' is a comple' scramble for the quaffle now! 'Ufflepuff seems to 'ave gotten their act together! Never seen a Keeper go fer a Quaffle before... Points for Originali'y!

The rain combined with the snitch's abnormal resolve to not be caught this time was making things very hard for the seekers. It veered and ducked and swerved away from every attempt to grab it.
But, it was very fun for everyone else to watch. Even the announcer, despite knowing that he would've caught the snitch twice over by now...

An' they're neck 'n neck! 'Oo's gonna get the snitch first?!"

	Losing all their Beaters and their Seekers had to be a massive blow. How could it not be? Alyssea grit her teeth and paused to survey the field once she'd finished her lap. As nice as having designated roles in such a complex game like Quidditch was, there were limits. This was one of them.

Landon gasped as he watched all of the turmoil on the pitch. He watched as his team lost more and more players due to being knocked off their brooms. He winced as he watched them fall and sighed a little, wishing he could help. They lost all their beaters and seekers and Landon couldn't step in and take the role for the team so he felt a little like their hope of winning was lost. But he was going to try and stay positive. Maybe they could still win this on pure points alone without even catching the snitch? He didn't know if that would happen, but he had to have some hope.

Hufflepuff has faced a mega-blow of losing their seekers and beaters. With every KOB, our lions cheered louder and wilder. This match was truly dragging with its intense neck-tie situation and well...a very VERY slippery snitch!

Smooth golden surface and harsh rain = perfect combination for a long-drawn match and a miss for every attempt our seeker tries. While it is frustrating, it is just as thrilling to be up on my feet and scan through the field, eyeing every movement, making mental notes, watching out for attacks on our members, keeping an ear out for our announcer, and trying my level best to learn from the experts from sidelines.

This match...hopefully doesn't end with me having a nasty cold.

@Elsian Cox it seemed, was determined to lose. The lethargic lion was definitely chasing something but for whatever reason completely failed to catch it. He hadn't fallen asleep on his broom, had he?

Unable to afford more than a few seconds of gawking, Finnegan went about his task with tenacity. The first two quaffles were his but the third was snatched right out from under his nose by

@Atlas Reid? What was the Hufflepuff keeper doing this far away from her hoops? He didn't know which feat was more stunning, that she'd stolen the quaffle, or that he'd failed to notice her switching roles until now. Either way, she didn't belong her and he was going to show her.

The fourth quaffle grab was no contest at all, but his gleeful smirking soon melted away when Atlas proved Hufflepuff was still in the game and scored a final goal against Gryffindor.

Either Elsian was going to catch that snitch now, or he'd have to single-handedly carry Gryffindor to such a wide lead that Hufflepuff could no longer hope to win and the game would be called off. On that account, there weren't all that many Hufflepuffs left on their brooms...
