Costume Party... In April? PV Closed

Dale was glad someone struck up a conversation with him. Carson and Charlotte seemed like nice people, and they both had amazing costumes. Carson seemed to be in a group costume, Dale could see other people in almost the same costume but in different colors. Charlotte was Belle from Beauty and the Beast, he had never really seen the movie, but he liked the costume. The other girl was dressed up like a phoenix it was quite the impressive costume, very intricate and well designed.

But Dale had never been to the lake party Carson mentioned or even heard of it. He must've mistaken him for someone else, people tended to that a lot. "M-My name is Dale, Dale Kurt." He timidly introduced himself, "I-I think y-you have me m-mistaken for someone e-else." he added.

The party had a lot of people, more than Dale expected, he wondered why he had gotten that invite. He had never met Maggie, so he was a bit confused about why exactly he was invited, but he was happy that he was invited. His first year wasn't very exciting, mostly just him studying and doing his homework. He had only met a few people and even fewer friends. So maybe this party would make up for his lack of interactions.

“No worries! You look amazing, Syl, I love the berks.”

A bit of blush appeared on Sylvie's face as she looked down at her feet. "Thank you. My sister is the one who put it together." She was glad that she matched the other three members of the group and didn't stand out too much. 

So many people were coming in now. Some had simple costumes, while others had crazier costumes that stood out more. But, no matter what the costume was it did not change the fact that Sylvie felt uncomfortable. What usually happened to her at parties was happening again. She started to sweat and her mind started racing. "What do I do? Should I say hello to my friends? It looks like there is already a group of them talking. I don't want to be a bother and interupt something.... UGGH SYLVIE JUST TALK TO THEM LIKE A NORMAL PERSON!!" 

Sylvie looked around to see who she recognized and could possibly. Well, there was Maggie, Carson, and Tatiana who she was doing the group costume with. She also recognized Koko, Min-seo, and Charlotte. Koko looked like she was dressed as a cat, but she also had an umbrella. Sylvie didn't really understand why she had it, but she thought the costume looked good. She wasn't quite sure what Min-seo was, but she had a parasol and was dressed in a dark costume. Sylvie actually knew what Charlotte was. She was Sylvie's favorite princess as a child, Belle. She watched from afar as Charlottes dress changed from blue to a beautiful golden. "Wow..." She thought. She decided to head over to where she was. She was still panicking a bit on the inside, but looked calm on the outside. She felt as if she was interrupting them with her presence. "Hey Charlotte. That costume is amazing! I love Belle when I was younger." She said smiling warmly, hoping that others didn't see her as weird or something.

Though this wasn't her 1st costume party, this was the first one she didn't dread to go.

Originally she was going to wear a creepy Chesire costume and creep the wits out of everyone at the party by being herself and using the excuse of ' being in character ' to make those glorious faces morph into complete disgust or shock .

Unfortunately, she and Charlotte decided to be partners. They were going to be Disney princesses and at first, Fumiko wanted to object, but having a chance of putting a frown on Charlotte's face, she went through it anyway.

And after a few hours of thinking, she decided she'll ' accidentally ' drop her ink all over her costume so now ooohhhhnoooo she need's to find another costume!

She was not coming to another costume party in another gown no hell no. She would have to make it up to Charlotte one day.

She analysed and crafted the whole day to make her costume and she is not going to wear an aink stained dress.

Before entering the party, she muttered, " Please don't kill me Charlotte "

Getting into character, she wore a devious smirk that still did not suit her adorable face as she dramatically entered the ballroom.

" Gaaassstooooon hhaaaaaaddd arrrrrriiiiiivvvveeeeddddd~ "

She sang in an a pompous tone that matched the Gaston's , her arm outstretched like she was expecting an applause.

The people who knew her from the Lake Party must be shocked at her entrance, still unaware of her real personality. Darn, if only she could see their faces now. However, when she realised no one was clapping for her entrance, she decided to fully scan the room.

Snapping out of her thoughts, she came just in time to see Charlotte turn her dress into a stunning yellow gown with a flick of her wand.

Ah, so this was why no one payed attention to her entrance

" Oh, okay that's not fair. How could you turn into that dress without me, aaannd the moment I stepped in " Charlotte one of Fumiko's close friends whom she was comfortable with jokingly scolding.

Fumiko had seen the transformation before, but she hoped Charlotte would do it again when after Fumiko arrived.

Looking around, she had a lot of people to greet. She hasn't even thanked Maggie for inviting her to such an oddly fun party.

Lallie was just standing around people observing when her eyes fixated on a girl dressed as Belle from Beauty and the Beast who had taken out her wand. Suddenly the girl tapped her dress and it changed from Belle's casual blue dress to the iconic yellow gown. 'Damn girl!' Lallie thought as the girl spun around in it.

Just as the girl was doing that the door burst open and a girl dressed as Gaston sauntered in shouting just like Gaston would. Lallie assumed they were partners but if they weren't they should defiantly pretend they were since that would be fantastic.

Just as Lallie was going back to people observing a familiar-looking brunette started walking up to her. Lallie quickly prays to the lord that now more than ever the party doesn't get crashed like all the other Hogwarts party. Especially like at the Gryffindor Ball when they were just about to dance together.

Lallie smiled and blushed slightly at Millie's compliment. After that Millie softly hugged her. Lallie normally would've tensed up a bit but she was feeling more confident than normal in her Halloween costume so she hugged Millie back. Lallie has always felt different when she's "playing a part".

After they broke their hug Lallie returned her compliment, "I know it's defiantly been a while. Thanks so much. You look great too, the flower girl costume defiantly fits you." Lallie imagined how strange a sight Lallie and Millie were. A modern looking girl wearing flowers and a white dress talking to a pasty white girl dressed in black 1920s attire.

"So Millie who do you think has the best costume here? Besides you and me of course." Lallie asks using her arm to pan across the ballroom. Not everyone was here yet, it's quite normal to come fashionably late to a costume party, but there were still a lot of people to choose from.

it wasn't oliver's idea to turn up this late.

stumbling fingers pulled and twisted clothes, pulling and panting as his eyes dark chocolate eyes glanced back and forth from the time and back to the mirror reflecting in front. he stretched up his denim jeans with such a force he was worried he would rip them in half. he slipped his hands down the waistband of his jeans, tucking in his patterned shirt, and hurriedly throwing a denim jacket on top.

as his fingers were occupied with pulling on a red puffer jacket, his leg forced forward toward the wooden door, sending it flying open with a smack as it hit the wall, earning a few glances from the pupils occupying the dorm room.

his untied shoes made it even more difficult for him as he elbowed his way through doors and corridors, as he finally sorted out the top half he quickly held his leg up, bouncing now toward the ballroom, his clammy fingers fidgeting with the laces. it wasn't a surprise to anyone that oliver decided to dress up as something nerdy, equal to his personality. he'd seen the film on at least 54 different occasions, and while it wasn't fancy, he figured it would do.

he reached the door, taking a big breath and trying to compose himself as he pushed open the door.
his first thoughts as he gazed around the room as that he was well underdressed. a few students who were invited wore glamourous outfits, pretty ones and then he noticed a few ones similar to his tone. he took another breath, and swayed down, eyes looking around for a certain someone.
when he finally saw the pretty brunette, he was instantly following forward, greeting her with a big smile.

she was dressed head to toe in wacky dad clothes, which oliver adored. socks and sandals, oversized patterned shirt and a fanny pack to top it off. he laughed as he walked over, "sorry i'm late, but looking good, parker" he said with a grin, as his eyes glanced around the room, greeting carson and tatiana, who were dressed nearly identical to maggie, apart from their different color codes.
"liking these outfits guys" he smiled at them.

all the pupils seemed to be occupying one another with chats and conversations of their own, the music bouncing off the walls in the ballroom and the soft chatter balancing the noise out. oliver had to admit, maggie did know how to set up a party. the atmosphere was so comfortable and sweet. he couldn't help smile at the other's ideas for costumes.

he turned his heel toward maggie, towering over her and shining a great big beam down at her.
"if you couldn't guess who i am, i'm marty mcfly." he felt himself grimace at how he sounded so nerdy. "yeah, i know i'm a huge nerd."

Since Maggie had started talking to the gathered guests, many more had began to flow into the room, a steady stream of students, all dressed in costume. Charlotte had arrived in a Belle costume, which was pretty fitting for her, actually.

“Hey Maggie, I just made a few shortbreads, don’t know if we had to bring our own, but…” she handed Maggie a basket of delicious-looking shortbread cookies, and Maggie took them with a smile. ”Anyway, the party looks amazing, really!”

“Thanks, Charlotte!” she thanked her cousin, smiling at her widely, “But Tatiana and Carson helped, like, a lot too.” she laughed, nodding to the two of her friends. “This place would be a mess if they hadn’t helped.”

Phoenix walked in wearing a phoenix costume, which made Maggie giggle as she thanked her for inviting her. “No problem! I’m glad you could come!” Maggie noticed the dramatic eye makeup Phoenix had done, and she smiled at her as she complimented, “I love your makeup, too!” The girl thanked her, and Maggie felt kind of bad for her when she walked off to stand awkwardly in between the students. Thankfully, Carson called her over from where he was standing next to Charlotte, causing Maggie to grow a small smirk on her face. Carson had a crush on her cousin, and she was glad he was making a move.

Mac walked in, and Maggie, again, giggled at his costume. It was dorky, sure, but he and Dennis made it work between the two of them. Dennis thanked her for the invite, and Maggie laughed when he recognized Carson as the “soggy chip boy”.

“Thank you for that new nickname, Dennis, I will be calling Carson soggy chip boy from now on.” she laughed, waving to Dale as he walked in, who was quickly called over by Carson. He was a scientist, or maybe a doctor? After Dale, Dan walked in, dressed up in a costume of someone that she didn’t really recognize— he did look a bit scary, though.

He was creeping up on Dennis and Mac, and Maggie quickly realized she should keep her mouth shut so she wouldn’t ruin his “surprise”. She continued to aimlessly chat with Mac and Dennis, distracting them so Dan could sneak up on the pair. He grabbed Mac’s shoulder, whispering something in his ear, evidently causing Mac to yelp and jump a couple feet into the air.

Maggie was laughing, hard. She felt kind of bad for Mac, but then again, it was funny. Mac recognized Dan’s costume, saying something about personas, and Maggie quickly bolted off towards Carson and Charlotte before any of them could go super-nerd on her for not knowing what it was. Lallie walked in as a 20’s flapper vampire, which was actually a very creative idea. She was quickly followed by Millie, who was dressed as a flower girl in a pretty white dress. She greeted Maggie, and afterwards she dashed over to talk to Lallie and give her a hug, causing Maggie to smirk.

Sure, Lallie was great, and Maggie would consider them friends, and she would’ve invited her even if Millie wasn’t coming. However, Millie coming had been an added bonus, since Maggie thought that the two were cute together. Tatiana had walked over to join Carson, Charlotte, Dale, and Phoenix, along with Sylvie who had just joined the small group of people.

Maggie walked over, just in time, actually, because just as she did, Charlotte gave her dress a tap with her wand and it turned into Belle’s ball gown. Maggie smiled to herself, Charlotte definitely had a talent for Transfiguration, didn’t she? Maggie could barely turn a needle into a matchstick, let alone change a dress.

Maggie turned her head upon hearing Fumiko do a frankly amazing impression of Gaston. She clapped jokingly, as Fumiko gave an over dramatic bow. She must’ve coordinated with Charlotte, who she jokingly scolded as she walked in.

After a few minutes of the friends laughing and chatting aimlessly, Maggie heard the door open yet again. Oliver stood in the doorway, looking, if Maggie was being frank, a little out of breath and amazing. After he spotted Maggie, he walked over, his bright orange vest making small scraping noises as his arms moved against him, making Maggie giggle lightly. He looked dorky, but in a completely endearing way— it was cute.

“Sorry I’m late,” he apologized, grinning at Maggie apologetically, “but looking good, Parker.” he commented, causing Maggie to bite her lip as an attempt to hold back a laugh. He greeted Carson and Tatiana, quickly complimenting their costumes, before turning back to Maggie.

“If you couldn’t guess who I am, I’m Marty McFly.” He explained, wincing slightly as he spoke. “Yeah, I know I’m a huge nerd.” Maggie laughed, glancing at his costume.

“Only a little bit of a nerd,” she joked, holding up her fingers and pinching them together to where they almost touched, “Plus,” she added, her heart beating a little faster and her cheeks heating up slightly, “You’re cute enough to pull it off.” she smiled, her heart once again racing in adrenaline. The tips of her hair were turning a blush-pink in embarrassment, but Maggie played it off as confidence as she winked at the boy, leaving with an offhanded, “I have to go, er, start the competition.”

She walked up to Tatiana, grabbing her wrist and dragging her away from the crowd, a wild grin on her face. She dragged her all the over to the stage, where she jumped up onto it and sat, patting the wood next to her as an invitation to sit.

“Did you see that?” she boasted, laughing slightly and looking to Tatiana in excitement. Her cheeks were red, and her hair was still turning pink. “That was amazing!” she sighed, swinging her legs absentmindedly. “I should totally try that more often. It was great, Tatiana!”

A-ack. Koko had been introduced. To people. And she was a damn introvert. That much interrupted her peace of mind very much, but it wouldn't matter. Koko could just... hide... right? Well... No. She couldn't. She had to answer Maggie. "H-H-Hi," the girl stammered, "Uh... I'm a cat, but it might have rained - you can never tell with all of these untrained witches and wizards - so, you know, I... I brought an umbrella..?" Koko forced a smile. It... It wasn't really that bad... But it was still scary. "Thank you for inviting me," Koko murmured, and then she scrambled off to be an introvert and observe.

She had stood near a table no longer than five minutes when she saw a Slytherin boy. But... he wasn't a normal Slytherin boy. He seemed like he was going to try and crash the party! Koko couldn't let such a terrible party just go to waste, so she walked over to him. "Hey! What are you doing!?? I'll try and stop you! Incendio!" And she waved her wand, trying to aim at the boy, which would be easy because he was loitering, for Merlin's sake! Loitering! Wasn't that illegal..?

Y'all can decide if the incendio hits him or not. Sorry for the late reply and utter mess.

Dale was in awe of all the costumes, Charlotte had an amazing transforming costume, and someone he didn't know had an amazing entrance, all of the costumes truly put his own lame costume to shame. He should've put more thought and work into his costume, a mad scientist, really, is that the best he could do. He looked more like a doctor than a mad scientist. He wished he never came to the party, he should've just went to the lake or the library.

He let out a sigh, Well ill stay for another 30 minutes. His plan was to go and hide by the table, but first, he had to say bye to Carson, "W-Well it w-was nice meeting you g-guys, I think ill g-go get a snack." He said, and then quickly left to go to the refreshments table.

He got a cup and poured a drink into it, he wasn't very thirsty, but he felt weird just standing by the table without a drink or some food. After he had gotten his drink he walked next to the table, in a nice corner.

It was barely even 5 minutes before another person came to the table, it was the cat girl, Dale wasn't a huge fan of cats, but the costume clearly had a lot of effort put into it, and the girl looked fairly cute in it. She seemed to be doing the same thing as him, hiding, that is until she started to walk towards him, he thought she was coming to talk to him, or maybe ask a question, he straightened out his lab coat and back and got ready to meet the girl. "H-hello", the girl approached him and yelled "Hey! What are you doing!?? I'll try and stop you! Incendio!" Dale didn't have time to try to explain he was invited here because of a column of fire coming towards him. He was able to quickly dodge it, but not before some of his labcoat caught on fire. He threw it off and started to stomp on it to stop the fire."I-I-I think y-you have t-the wrong i-idea. I-I am not d-doing anything!" He said to the girl, she was obviously paranoid, and he did look a little bit out of place, but throwing fire at someone was just crazy! He tried to focus on using his calming aura or presence or whatever it was called, in an attempt not to be burned today. He would never again go to another party.
