─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────STUDY ROOM

@Joseph Sims─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
| "Anytime, my friend, anytime!" Mamori exclaimed in response to Joseph's thanks, nodding vigorously enough that his pink hair bounced like an excited Pygmy Puff. His grin widened, though perhaps not entirely for the innocent reasons Joseph might have assumed — a delightfully opportunistic thought had just struck him about how this moment of gratitude could be used to his advantage.
The silence stretched between them as Joseph sat there with that soft, contemplative look on his face (probably having some sort of heartwarming epiphany, knowing him). Behind Mamori's bright smile, however, possibilities were unfurling in his mind like a house-elf discovering an unlocked pantry. Yes, yes, perfect — let the appreciation sink in nice and deep, every bit of thanks would be his guarantee that Joseph wouldn't be able to resist when Mamori came bouncing in with another failing grade in need of rescue. After all, what were friends for if not to be sweet-talked into lending a helping hand?
When Joseph's soft "So... what d'you wanna do next?" broke through Mamori's scheming, his first thought was decidedly unhelpful — kidnapping Joseph whenever he got a P (muahahaha), but voicing that particular plan would probably send poor Joseph running for the hills faster than a cat from a water bucket.
Instead, Mamori sprang from his chair like a prisoner tasting freedom. "What's next?" He began shoving everything into his bag with theatrical disgust, as if the mere touch of academic materials might contaminate him forever. "First thing we're doing is getting these wretched books and endless parchments as far away from us as physically possible. I refuse to let another historical fact enter my field of vision for the rest of this weekend."
"I can escort you back to the common room?" He paused his frantic packing, waggling his eyebrows, completely glossing over the fact that Joseph had asked what he wanted to do next, not what they should do together. Without missing a beat, he'd already roped Joseph into his evening plans. "Or better yet — want to grab dinner together? The Great Hall should be practically empty. Most people have gone home to visit their families, which means..." His eyes lit up with the kind of sparkle that typically preceded either brilliance or disaster. "Maybe some flying practice? The pitch will be completely deserted. Or if you've got any other ingenious plans — I'm open to anything that doesn't involve opening another book, thank you very much!"─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────

Joseph shoved his History of Magic notes agressively into his backpack with a force that might have rivalled the angry wizards who had once plunged Urg the Unclean into a village pond. His eyes sparkled at the mere mention of his beloved common room. Think about the plush armchairs that practically swallowed you whole. And the warm embrace of the crackling fireplace. And the gentle glow of the ambient lighting. Simply perfection. How could anyone possibly reject the offer?
There wasn't a single thing Joseph could possibly crave more.
Other than chocolate bars, maybe. The thought struck him as a giggle slipped out his lips. For a fleeting moment, Joseph considered exhausting his evening on trying to break into Hogsmeade simply to smuggle a handful back into the castle. He'd be more than happy to grant Mamori his share - given he asked politely.
Still, as enticing as the comforts of the common room sounded, his stomach had other priorities. It growled in protest, pulling him back to the present.
"Dinner sounds good," Joseph decided, his voice laced with delight as a beam broke out across his youthful face. "We'll have most of the Great Hall to ourselves... think about all the trouble we could cause," Widening his eyes, Joseph must have looked stupidly cheerful as he contemplated releasing a load of dungbombs on an unsuspecting victim, ruining what would have been an incredible meal experience. Or sneaking a few strands of hair into a poor soul's pudding. Maybe even Mamori's, when he least expected it.

| Mamori blinked at Joseph's sudden enthusiasm for causing trouble. Huh... so this was the kind of person he really was? Apparently his supposedly reliable gut instinct about people needed a serious update — first assuming Joseph was some studious type only to discover his disaster-zone notes, and now overlooking this Novalie Moon-esque tendency toward chaos.
Honestly, the guy really needed to find some more practical hobbies. Like coaxing the Giant Squid closer to shore with smuggled breakfast, or challenging portrait figures to impromptu debates, or even flying — anything that wouldn't give professors another excuse to keep him in first year. Because that's exactly what would happen, wouldn't it? One poorly timed prank and bam, another year of first-year essays. At this rate, he'd be writing about goblin rebellions until he grew a beard as long as Dumbledore's.
Finally shouldering his bag, Mamori fixed Joseph with a look that clearly said 'please tell me you're not actually considering this absolutely terrible idea' before drawling, "Right. Except when there's only five students in the Great Hall, the professors have nothing better to do than watch every spoonful of pudding we touch. Unless you fancy spending the rest of your weekend writing lines in detention?" He gestured toward the door with a slight smirk. "Come on, let's get out of here."
With that, he headed out of the study room, not bothering to look back.─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
