With that, she continued her work, looking around the mess they had created with a glint of satisfaction in her eyes.
She looked at Ava curiously when she talked about detentions. Only 4 detentions till now? She really was a professional, then. That sort of made Ash want to take lessons from her.
“Make that five”
"Huh?" Ash raised a brow as she saw Ava look forward with a sweet smile. She quickly turned towards the greenhouse entrance, only to see Professor Toussaint walking into the greenhouse with a rusty bucket. Ash knew what was coming next.
For a second, she hid her face behind her dung-battered palms, as though it would make her invisible. It didn't.
All Ash did was force a grin as Professor Toussaint addressed them. As she addressed Ava, Ash could tell she was famous. Famous for her mischievous acts?
She cast another curious look at Ava when she refused to call her a planned accomplice. Of course, she wasn't a planned accomplice but Ava's face told her she didn't want to share the credit of the chaos with her. Ash didn't really mind—instead, that intrigued her...
Her eyes widened as Professor Toussaint assigned them the work.
"Clean it all...?" She blurted out and doubted whether her voice even reached the Professor.
But Ash knew it was of no use now. She couldn't possibly run away. Besides, she wasn't going to ditch the Slytherin girl when she had accompanied her in decorating the place. Hearing Ava complain, Ash sighed and grabbed a sponge after passing the Professor another grin, unsure of her own mentality.
"This is- this is unfair," Ash looked at the professor with disbelief after she realised the work was too difficult for her. "Can't we use just a little bit of magic?"
Frowning at herself, reminding herself it wasn't going to work anyway, she began to work on it but kept glancing at Ava and the Professor occasionally.
Ash was never a fan of cleaning, and that was what she was doing right now. And the idea of using only a sponge and water to clean the mess was even more unpleasant. Even in the muggle world, they used machines for everything...
She looked in Ava's direction and gave a rapid nod as she spoke, then looked at Professor Toussaint. Yes, they were doing a favour by making the place look appealing. Ash couldn't help but accept that the greenhouse looked much better with that brown stinky dung smudged all over. Adults just don't get it...
After a while, Ash stood up and took a deep breath. She didn't want to do it anymore. But even without looking around, she knew there was more cleaning left.
Ash turned to Professor Toussaint.
"D'you guys have- uhm- vacuum cleaner??" she said abruptly.
Frowning at herself, Ash returned to clean a spot still untouched and heard a splash. Beside her was Ava, battered with dung. Ash grimaced and wiped away some of the drops which had managed to fly to her face, precisely her lips when Ava slipped.
Hearing her shooting more complaints at Professor Toussaint, Ash sighed, shook her head and continued to clean the ground. It took them some more time to finish the work. She cleaned the last bits of dung and glanced at Ava, who was done too. Ash flinched as she threw the sponge into the bucket and barged out of the greenhouse.
"Byebye!!" she passed the Professor a cocky grin and hopped out of the greenhouse.WC—618Ash has left the thread
