Karina looked up, gasping. " YOU DO DANCE? I DO TOO! I love ballet! I actually dance in the muggle world. Sorry for shouting, I just never found someone that share similar interests as me. Did you dance on pointe? Did you like to dance?" Charlie stood there, still playing with her moon-shaped necklace. Perhaps she was figuring out what to say.
Karina looked at Charlie, particularly, her necklace. It was a moon, with blue pebbles or crystals in it. Karina told Charlie to wait there, and that she would be back in a few minutes, leaving Charlie completely puzzled. Karina knew she shouldn't have just left Charlie standing there, but she was on a mission. (To her common room, but it was still quite and adventure through the halls!)

Karina came running down the halls, passing students who were very noisy. It was almost dinner, she had less than an hour before they had to go eat, meaning she wouldn't see Charlie until either after they ate, or worse -until tomorrow! She had to hurry. While running, she didn't even care that other people were being nocked off their feet, she needed to go to her common room, but the common was all the way in the basement, while she was on the 2nd floor. How was she ever going to make it?!?!

"Well.. I do like to dance and I just started point work this..."

Charlie was interrupted by Karina who asked her to wait here for her. She looked confused. Very confused. Did she imagine it or was the girl staring at her necklace? And what was the link with her running down the corridors and leaving her here. Charlie was confused. Very confused.

"Well... Seems like I just have to wait..."

Charlie proceeded to stare out of the window.

Stars... There are stars in the sky. Oh, she wanted to be a star. That's how they are called in France I think. Stars, "étoiles"... Star dancer, "danseuse étoile"... But could she be a dancer and a witch at the same time? And she could train full time here. And she loved Hogwarts. She could not choose between both so she will stay in the in between. Maybe later she could form a company of witches and wizards all dancers and add magic to the representations... That's quite an idea!

All these thoughts in her head led her to sing very low, just a little melody while dancing in her head, creating a sort of choreography, with all sorts of thing flying all around her and magical effects. What a dream...

A dream interrupted by the sound of the wind hurling outside.

"You scared me!"

Charlie had this habit to talk to anything and the wind was not gonna escape it.

The students were all watching as Karina rushed through the halls. She almost knocked down an armor stand as she ran. Just then, not noticing a short 1st year, she tripped. Falling onto the ground. Karina helped the fellow 1st year up. And went her way.
She ran to the basement, catching her breathe, she dropped some of her books (from her classes) onto her bed, her roommate looking at Karina. Karina waved and quickly went to her and went to her bedside table. Opening her drawer, she pulled out a little green, satin sack.

Karina had made it. Made it to Charlie before dinner. She had 6 minutes to spare. She was going to spend her time with Charlie wisely. She found Charlie looking out of the window.

Karina walked slowly towards Charlie, catching her breath. She opened the little satin bag and pulled out a gorgeous pendent, that looked similar to Charlie's moon-shaped one.

Karina put it on. Suddenly she felt as though her body glowed, she felt a rush of energy and joy flow through her. Charlie looked confused, too. Maybe she felt the same flush of energy. Just then, the bell rang. It was time for dinner. Karina looked at Charlie, "I will see you here tomorrow. I think I have to talk to you about something. I will meet you here after class." And with that, the girls parted off. Leaving only wonders behind them.

Charlie did not know what to think. Or what to say. Her mind was blank. The only thing witch stood up to her was the image of the necklace. Not her necklace, not the one with the moon she was holding in her hand. No, the one this strange girl, her new friend, was wearing, the one Karina had rushed in the corridors to show her.

What is happening here???

The necklace was pretty. That was not the thing. The thing was that it looked too familiar.

Have I already seen this before? Why do I get this feeling of déjà-vu?

"I... This... Yes... See you tomorrow."

She could not form a proper sentence. She was shocked. What was it? Why did it looked so familiar? And why did this girl she barely knew have a necklace which looked way too similar to the one she had around her neck?

Charlie was now on her own. Still under the confusion of what happened. Karina had rushed to dinner, but, just as previously, Charlie was not that hungry. She took her time by the window, trying to understand this moon and star thing. The necklace thing. You could think it was nothing important but she knew it was of the most utter importance. The necklace she cherished, the one she always wore and never let down, had been handmade and was a family heirloom. It was really important to the girl. It was meaningful to her. So... What the hell was happening and who was this girl?

After dinner, Karina had the option to either read, or talk with people of her dorm. She spent her evening reading. She wanted to learn more about her necklace. Karina crept to the library, but had no luck. So, she decided to find a book that was interesting.
Suddenly, she came across a green book.
It seemed interesting, so Karina gave it a chance. "Animal Ghosts of Britain was a book written by Mopsy Fleabert, providing basic information on animal ghosts indigenous to Britain, and how to recognise and communicate with them." She read, "We know that there are animal ghosts because the Headless Hunt rides ghost horses. But we are told in OP38 that only witches and wizards can become ghosts; some sort of preparation or planning seems to be required. So, most likely, animals can become ghosts if a human performs the necessary magic on them. -BB" With that, she took the book back into her dorm, and began to read a night long of ghost animal stories.


This day was the longest day ever. Astronomy class had seemed to last forever. It was her last class before dinner. Astronomy wasn't a bad class, in fact Karina really liked it, but today's lesson was extremely long. It seemed to have been 100 years before the bell finally rang. Karina gathered her books and was the 1st one out of the door. She ran to the window, looking everywhere for Charlie.

Charlie had spent the evening, the night and the whole day thinking of the girl and the necklace. She had tried to write to her grandma about it but what could she say?

Hi grandma, I met a girl and she had a necklace which looked pretty similar to the one you gave me. How strange is that right?

No she could not. She needed to ask the girl first. She needed to know where it was coming from. Of course it could be nothing... But it was a very special heirloom. The way it was made... No one else had seen one like hers and now she did saw it.

Ok time to calm down. You're brave, you're smart, you will find were it's from. Could someone from my family have made another necklace? Would someone give a necklace like this to anyone outside the family? No. Impossible. So would the girl have stolen it? Not likely, she was even younger than me, there was no way the girl was a thief. But she was a Slytherin... Maybe she was hiding her game pretty well... Still, she was so nice to me yesterday...

Charlie was lost and decided to go to the corridor where they met the day before. She looked around the corner and saw the Slytherin. What should she do? Charlie was currently wondering whether she should go or go back to her room. It was too much but at the same time exciting. What could go wrong ? So she walked out of her hiding and smiled to Karina.

Karina looked and saw Charlie walking near her, Finally... She thought. Karina noticed that Charlie had a grin on her face, but it was questioning. Karina wasn't wearing her pendant that she wore yesterday, instead, she kept it in her pocket. She didn't want it stolen. It was a family pendant, everyone in her family had been dedicated one. Karina's was a star, her mother's was a sun, and her newborn sister's was a rhombus. Karina couldn't understand why Charlie had a necklace like that. It was a family pendant. Charlie couldn't be family, could she?

"Oh, hi Charlie!"

Karina looked at Charlie, slyly, observing for any mischievousness. Charlie couldn't be family. So maybe she stole the pendant from one of my family? She thought... Then she remembered that today she had received an owl. It was a letter from her mother. It said:

My dearest Karina,
Unfortunately I am in a rush to visit my cousin, but I have received your previous letter and will respond to it later. Guess who is my cousin is? I haven't seen him for 5 years! It's James!

Karina soon spotted Charlie, who was still standing there. And Karina handed her the letter.

"What are your parents' names? Mine are Christian Eaglewood and Anna Eaglewood. My mother never told me her last name before she got married to my father, so I can ask her that in my next letter..."

Charlie was standing here not knowing what to do or think. This situation was too strange to handle like she was used to. Her eyes were scanning Karina looking for anything suspicious... She was not wearing her necklace, or it could be hidden by her scarf. She did not quite know what she was seeing. And now there was this letter the Slytherin was handing her. Too much information for her.

Well, yes her dad's name was James. However she was not aware of any cousin he would have. She did not know a lot about her family. She knew pretty well her mother's side but on her dad's she only knew her grand-mother. Her grand-father died a few years ago and they did not have any other children.

Charlie only had her grand-mother on this side of the family. No uncle or aunt, no cousins. None that she knew of at least. It's true that her grand-ma was kind of secretive about her younger life. In fact, Charlie barely knew anything from her past. But this James in the letter... It could not be... No it couldn't.

Well, my dad's name is James but that means nothing... It's a pretty common name here and I've never ever heard of him having any cousins... Seems weird to me.
