Firewhiskey?
Avis slipped into the Great Hall and her jaw fell. This was crazy. There were so many ingredients on shelves upon shelves of them. She hadn't even realized that many ingredients existed. That must have cost someone a fortune. She walked up to a table, waving over Silva and Yolanda when she saw them, and oogled at the sheer magnitude of the entire room. There were even stands for spectators. Spectators!Team: @Silva Melinora and @Yolanda Yates
Potion: Dizziness Draught
Avis shook her head and took a deep breath to clear her head. It wouldn't help anyone to get distracted by anyone else, that could only lead to bad things. Right, what did she need? They wanted to make a Dizziness Draught, and the first ingredient was firewhiskey. She walked up to the ingredients table, grabbing a bottle, as well as teh other ingredients needed for the potion. It was a bit strange, she thought, that they just had firewhiskery available to the 11 year olds. Avis could just drink some, and no one would notice. Or if they did, it would probably be their fault for offering it. She ignored the temptation to try it and poured three measures into the cauldron, bringing it up to a boil, and counting exactly 30 seconds before reducing it to low heat, moving out of the way so Yolanda could get to the cauldron.

Firewhiskey?
Yolanda, Silva, and Avis all gazed into the Great Hall. It was spectacular! And nerve-wracking… for a first year like herself it was a wonder her knees didn’t shake… or not much anyway.
Yolanda felt like she couldn’t think before suddenly it was time to start the competition! She was nervous – more about making sure she did the right thing for her teammates than herself – it was a group competition so her teammates were relying on her.
Dizziness Draught – that was their objective.
Avis was putting the firewhiskey in. While Avis was prepping, Yolanda took a mortar and ground 4 Woodlice into a powder (she had helped take care of Bowtruckles before so the Woodlice didn’t bother her). Yolanda added 2 sprigs of Skurvy Grass to the mortar, which combined the crushed woodlice powder together, creating a paste.
Avis was counting to 30 meticulously, than reduced the cauldron to low heat and moved out of the way. Yolanda was ready with the paste and added it into the Cauldron.
Yolanda moved out of the way for Silva’s turn to mix the mixture. “Clockwise.” She whispered, more to herself than to Silva, with a focused look.
She took had a small sigh as she handed off the next stage to Silva. She trusted her teammates and knew they would do their very best to complete the Dizziness Draught and tackle each challenge together.
Here we go! Yolanda thought to herself.

Firewhiskey?
Interacting with @Avis Marlong and @Yolanda Yates
She walked into the great hall and stared around. It had been completely changed to make it good for the competition. They'd changed it so that there were 4 sections. Each one appeared to have a different age group in it. The podium for the staff now was filled with materials. There were even spectator stands. Woah. Someone was going to be watching this?
She looked around for the others and saw that they had started at a table in what appeared to be the youngest section. She walked over to them and after a quick greeting she looked up at the judges and listened to what they were saying.
She payed close attention to the task. Retrieving a basket of apples from Red Caps. Hadn't she read about those. Something about..... being easy to repel with spells. Well that was good. But there was something else.... oh.... that was it.... they attempted to bludgeon people to death on dark nights. Not fun. She was scared. What if the potions didn't work. What if the creatures hurt me. She realized she had clenched up her hands. She took a deep breath. They won't let that happen. And besides, I've got two fellow firsties by my side who will help me.
She looked up at Avis and Yolanda who were both working hard. She winced embarrassed. I should have been helping. She moved forward to stir the potion. She heard Yolanda mutter clockwise and she nodded. She picked up the ladle and stirred it three times clockwise. She then pulled out her wand and, feeling foolish, waved it at the potion.
Now to wait. The potion had to sit there for 35-40 minutes so she had a little while. She pulled out her copy of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. She had known that she'd have to wait for a while so she'd come prepared. Unlike normally she didn't just randomly browse through the book. Instead she quickly came to the Red Cap entry. She quickly read some of it out loud.
"Ok... Red Caps are dwarf like creatures.... they live on old battlefields or where human blood has been spilled.... that doesn't sound good" She looked up at the others, worried. "Although easily repelled by charms and hexes, they are very dangerous to solitary muggles..... we're new enough that they're probably very dangerous to us..... they um.... try to um..... bludgeon muggles to death..... on dark nights...."
She quickly turned away and waited for the rest of the time. Once it was finally done she quickly chopped up two spider legs and added them to the cauldron.

The potion had to sit for 35 to 40 minutes, and Avis looked around the room. It was full of various groups making various potions, and Avis thoroughly hoped that her group had chosen the right one. She scanned the spectator stands, seeing a few students she recognized from the classes or common room, but no one she specifically knew. She had forgotten to bring a book or something to do, so she hovered over Silva's shoulder, reading behind her. As Silva spoke out loud, Avis cringed. They try to bludgeon muggles to death? Seriously? What was wrong with those people? What was wrong with this school? That was crazy, why is this ethical?
She shook her head to clear her thoughts as the time stopped and Silva chopped up two spider legs. Avis wrinkled her nose a bit, disgusted at the fact they they were putting spider legs into the cauldron. It was better than the fire whiskey though, at least they were legal to eat. As Silva put the legs into the cauldron Avis stepped up and stirred the cauldron counter-clockwise four times. She them stepped aside for Yolanda to turn the heat to medium, looking towards the other sections as the potion had to sit for another five minutes.

Yolanda kept telling herself her part in her mind. Medium heat – 5 minutes. Then next steps. Avis was wrinkling her nose at the spider legs – Yolanda had so many older brothers and they really didn’t need an excuse to have spiders around – although legs intake generally. She wasn’t exactly a fan either though. Yolanda digressed in her mind – back to the steps!
Wait. Wait. Gooo.
Yolanda raised the heat to medium and was waiting the 5 minutes.
“Soo the Red Caps will try to bludgeon us? To death???” That was a tad shocking to this First Year, “I’ll throw apples at them if I have to! Or grab a stick and bludger them back!” Yolanda said putting on a false bravado. She was actually pretty scared of these terrifying little dwarfish creatures.
She didn’t want to let it on though – it was going to be a scary adventure – but hopefully the group had chosen the best potions with the least effects on these terrifying Red Caps. They weren’t there to bludgeon them – or anything – just to get the apples in a dense patch of forest.
Yeah – no problem…
The 5 minutes was up. Yolanda waved her wand over the cauldron in order to finish the potion.
So the potion was complete!
“We can do this!” Yolanda told her teammates – she did believe they could.
