Mystery of Silver Moon Bay
Chapter 1
Winds howled and reeds danced across the shore. An eerie silence filled the air with question. What would become of the next person so approach? What would become of the next to find this place? Well, whoever treads across this land will be cursed. No one knows why, but what they do know is this: never tread across Silver Island. For whoever does will perish.

My day started as normal as it could be. I got out of bed, got dressed, brushed my teeth, (you get the picture). It wasn't until breakfast that things changed. My mom seemed different. She was focusing on an image on her laptop that was lying on the counter. Papers scattered around her. She wasn't exactly the neatest or most organized person. Especially since what happened to Dad. He used to work for a sea company, but one day his ship went down somewhere in the Bermuda Triangle, so we haven't heard from him since.
I approached Mom with caution. I didn't want to risk disturbing her since she is prone to throwing things when startled.
"Hey, Mom, what are you working on?" I asked.
"Oh, Rya, sorry, I was just planning a trip." she responded.
"A trip?"
"Yeah, I saw this ad in the news this morning about and island called Silver Island. I looked into it, and it's actually pretty cheap to go there. And it's tropical." she answered.
"Sounds great, but what about summer vacation? You said we were going to stay home this year."
"I know I said that, but this is an opportunity. We haven't been out of the country since. . . your father died. We need do this, so we can heal. Trust me."
"Alright. I guess. Before you make any more crazy plans. I'm going to go and hangout with some of my friends. See you later." I said as I left the room.
"Have fun, and don't stay out too late!" she called back.
I smiled at her comment as I walked away. Even though I am 18, she still treats me like I'm 12. I guess that's what happens when your mom had to raise you by herself for over 10 years.
As I left I was thinking about this trip. I'd never heard of a "Silver Island". I just hope that it won't turn out as a disaster. Especially since this is the first time I have been out of the country in forever. I guess you could say that life may finally become interesting instead of the boring and stereotypical day.

Mystery of Silver Moon Bay
Chapter 2
I thought going out and finding my friends would be easy. Turns out it isn't. Usually they are at Parlor's Ice Cream, but they weren't there today. "Weird." I thought to myself. "They are always here." I decided to check one other place they may be before resorting to calling them. Calling them was never a good idea because most of the time they never respond.
I guess I got lucky today. Turns out they were by the water after all. I'm not sure why they chose to be there because none of them actually going here. Especially after what happened to my dad and some of their parents.
"What are you guys doing here?" I asked
Hey, Rya, sorry we couldn't text you. The ice cream shop was closed earlier, so we had to come here. Skyler's phone is dead, so none of us could tell you where we were." Ally responded.
"Oh, well what are you guys doing?" I asked.
"We were thinking about going to the carnival. It may be the last chance this year since some of us are going away for the summer." She looked straight at me when she said that.
"Alright, alright, I take the hint. Let's go have fun."
We all got up and ran towards town where the carnival was hosted every summer. Excited to have one last chance before summer ended to be kids again. Since we were all graduated and heading off our separate ways.
