Phoenix listened as Amaya explained that she was an only child and how she would liked to have had a younger sibling. She couldn’t imagine being an only child, never having anyone to talk to except your parents. She was really close with all of her siblings and often she would even consider them her best friends.

“wow! Yeh I’ve got 4 brothers. My younger brother Hunter is gonna be starting here next year. It’ll be cool because we’re the closest in age so we will be able to share things more,” Phoenix stopped talking abruptly, realising that maybe it would upset the girl to hear about it so much if she didn’t have any siblings. She had a habit of starting to talk without thinking and just hoped that she didn’t mess this up. She finally had a chance to make a real friend and she didn’t want to blow it.

Phoenix looked up and out of the window. The sun had gone down a lot and a rumble from her stomach reminded her of why she was leaving the library in the first place. She turned back to Amaya.
“Hey I’m starving, do you want to come to the great hall with me? We can get some food?” she asked hoping that Amaya would agree.

Phoenix was relieved when Amaya said she would like to go with her. Maybe this making friends thing wasn’t so hard.
“I should probably put some of these books back first though...” Phoenix jumped up from her chair, shouldering her bag, before replying.

“Sure, here I’ll help you,” She said as she picked up a few of the books off the table, looking at the names so she knew where to put them back. She might not have been big on doing homework but Phoenix did enjoy reading and she spent a lot of time walking up and down these isles, admiring the many books they had to offer.

Luckily a lot of the books were Quidditch related and so mostly went around the same area. Phoenix recognised a few of the books, she even had some of them at home, and they were great reads, especially if you loved Quidditch.

“So were you just looking at the pictures in these? ‘Cos some of them are really cool to read as well. You can get detailed first hand accounts from players and refs. There’s all sorts you can learn from the people actually on the pitch,” Phoenix’s enthusiasm shone through in every word she spoke and once again she had to cut herself off, feeling like she was talking too much.
