“Have fun! Be safe! And...” Maggie jokingly drummed her hands on her knees as she squatted, ready to dash into the trees. “GO!”
Carson glanced at Charlotte, they’d talked earlier and agreed that they shouldn’t run unless they had to. With Charlotte’s ankle and everything, not because Carson was lazy. She’d insited that she was fine, but Carson didn’t believe her.
So, while everyone was running off into the forest, Carson and Charlotte kind of speedwalked into it, laughing as they did so. The sound of their laughter combined with the crunching of the leaves under their feet were the only noises in the forest, besides the laughter and shrieks of some of the other teams in the forest.
“Who do you think is gonna win?” Carson asked, glancing down towards Charlotte. He was a lot taller than her, actually, at least a couple inches. He guessed he was a little above average in height, but he wasn’t a giant. Charlotte, on the other hand, was pretty short. Her eyes sparkled as he glanced down at her, and he pale skin seemed to almost glow in the moonlight.
Carson coughed, realizing he was staring. Rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly, he trained his eyes onto his shoes so he wouldn’t get caught staring at her again. He couldn’t help it, though. She was like, really pretty, and he couldn’t lie— he’d been really happy when he figured out he was paired up with Charlotte.
They weren’t really hiding, per se, just walking around the forest, and Carson glanced towards Charlotte once again as he asked, “Do you want to... should we hide or something? I mean, we can keep walking, but...” he trailed off, looking to Charlotte expectantly.

Manhunt
As soon as Maggie gave the signal, all the team parted ways, venturing deeper in the forest. Right from the start, Charlotte already gave their team quite a disadvantage with her weak ankle, forcing them to speed walk. For some reason, they couldn't help but giggle and laugh as they walked, probably giving away their location. The only thing Charlotte was confident about was the fact that she could cast the Sparks charm fairly easily, and that she would have a great time with Carson. She stared at her feet, trying as hard as possible not meet Carson gaze, she was sure she would make everything awkward.
“Who do you think is gonna win?”
Carson asked, causing Charlotte to look up to him, a faint smile on her face.
'Let's be optimist here, I say we're definitely gonna win this'
she chuckled, tucking her hair behind her ear looking at him before facing forward again, observing everything in front if them.
“Do you want to... should we hide or something? I mean, we can keep walking, but...”
'Yeah, we definitely should, it would be too easy to find us...'
Charlotte frowned, trying to figure out a place both of them could hide.
It was pretty dark and it was rather hard to see anything. Her eyes darted in all directions as she hoped with all her heart somewhere between these thick trees and mossy roots they would find something. She checked her watch and realised it was time for them to send a signal. Looking heavenwards, she drew her wand and whispered under her breath.
'Verdimillious'
as she looked, amazed at the thousands of green stars floating higher and higher into the night sky. Their faces were briefly lit up with this earthy colour, soon fading away as she saw the other sparks shooting into the skies from various places in the forest.
She sighed, glancing around her when she suddenly found the perfect hiding spot. An oak tree stood on their right, majestic and tall, surrounded by numerous similar looking trees. In this tree was a hole big enough for both of them to fit, and hopefully hide from the searching team. Her wand in her hand, she casted the wand lighting charm and looked at the tree closely, unsure if Carson had spotted it too. Suddenly she heard a twig crack and afraid it might be the two Ravenclaws, she grabbed Carson's hand rapidly and ran towards the tree, taking him with her. She casted the counter spell, leaving them in complete darkness as they waited there, a few inches between them.
Charlotte only realised now what she had done and hoped the boy didn't see the blush on her face as she quickly turned around trying to see where the noise had come from. Holding her breath, she waited there hoping no-one had seen them.
