Song she played
Min-seo's little Mary Jane shoes clicked against the floor as she made her way to the Rehearsal Room. She was planning on playing her harp, the girl feeling a little more creative than usual. She opened the door and peeked in to see if anyone was in there. No one. She quietly closed the door behind her as she walked into the room filled with all types of instruments. She walked over to the corner where the harp was standing in it's beautiful glory. She smiled softly and went over by it. She plucked the strings as she formed a song. The Secret Garden. It was a beautiful song, and she had played it many times before. She got immersed in the music as she felt her arms grow kind of tired. She wasn't usually this tired, but it didn't matter. She continued the movements as fluidly as she could. The harp was one of her favorite instruments, so this was pretty fun for her. She ended the song softly and sighed, bringing her arms back to her sides. She heard the door open and she swiveled on her stool to face them. She gave a small smile at the person she saw.

The Rehearsal Room was such a wonderful place. Children could practice instruments there, but they could also sing. It acted as a sanctuary for a young Slytherin named Koko, and a sanctuary was all she needed at the end of the 2018-2019 school year I'm guessing? Tell me when we're setting this.

The blonde wore black coloured ballet flats, a pink sweatshirt, a bright blue skirt, black leggings with cats embroidered on them, and of course a black-and-pink flower headband. Her long blonde hair was left down. Her golden eyes were narrowed, as if she was suspicious of something or someone. And she carried something in her left hand, a violin case. Inside of it was a polished mahogany violin, with a bow and rosin inside of the case. Koko was planning on playing it once she got into the Rehearsal Room.

To her surprise, however, someone was already in the room when she entered. Wasn't her name something like Min-seo? Hm... Koko wasn't sure. She nodded hello, shut the door, and knelt next to her violin to take the instrument out of its case. The strings were tuned; she had done that before leaving the Slytherin Common Room. Instead of tightening any strings, Koko picked up her bow and began to tighten it until it was ready to play. She raised the violin to playing position and dragged her bow sullenly across the strings. A sad sounding A came out of the instrument, and before she knew what she was doing she began to play a song in a minor key. It made the girl feel much better about the day that had just passed, the day full of rushing to classes and forgetting things.

Unkempt frizzy hair fell in tufts down to her shoulders. Ill-fitting robes four sizes too large, ragged as a result of rough mishandling. Mismatched socks that were hiked midway up her calves.

Truly, a sight to behold in all its glory.

The soft elegance of the Rehearsal Rooms often attracted many students of equal stature -- glossy instruments were carefully handled by skilled musicians, graceful dancers performing delicate footwork, and the mellow voices of singers filled the hall with melodic tones. It wasn't exactly a place that Dinara Lucey belonged in, per se; but since when did societal expectations ever bind the little Hufflepuff?

Twirling in with all the grace of a trained hippo, the girl let out a few slightly off-key notes to signal her arrival; completely oblivious to the presence of the other two girls who were residing in the music room. Whatever moment they were having, immersed deep within their music, would likely have been shattered by Dinara's less than stellar singing -- it wasn't off key enough to be completely unrecognisable, but it definitely sounded off, even to the trained ear.

The two different melodies that lingered in the air created quite the confusing melody to the girl, and she finally turned to realise tbe two girls that were sharing the room with her. Both who seemed impeccably gorgeous, and well-dressed to the boot.

Dinara was never one to care much about appearance, but something about the two seemed magnetic, almost. She scratched her head as she watched the duo pluck at their stringed instruments -- what exactly was she doing there, even? She was no musician!

Letting out a tentative chuckle and small wave, the bold Hufflepuff briefly wondered if she should excuse herself from this area which seemingly housed beings from another world.

Min-seo stopped playing the harp when a girl came in, singing off key. She raised her eyebrows at the sudden arrival came in, interrupting her and Koko's practice of sorts. The girl was very unkempt, which was quite different from the Slytherin girl, her clothes neatly put together in an orderly fashion, and everything was the right size. Her little flats up to her hair, neatly pulled back by a black headband. Her dress was an elegant navy blue. The other girl was messy, swallowed by her robes, and was, well, a fashion disaster, to say the least. Min-seo turned around to face the girl. She felt second hand embarrassment for her, stumbling into a practice like that, not knowing what was happening. She saw her tentatively wave. Min-seo smiled and waved back to her. "How do you do?" she said kindly. The poor girl, she must feel awkward. Yes, her wardrobe did need some work, but she wanted to make sure the girl felt okay, even though she did barge in with horrendous singing and dancing. They seemed to be complete opposites, Two were elegant and one was a mess and stumbled all over the place, looking like that. Not a pretty sight to behold. She reckoned that if she was cleaned up a bit she would look pretty. Not that she wasn't, just all of the mess was covering up her potential.

[quote]Koko had known very well that it might have been rude to enter the room and practise while someone else was doing so, but then again, it was a room to practise in. She wouldn't think of it as rude. Only as a necessity.

Her serene practising - which, all in all, was only playing a few scales and getting back into violin after not playing for a while - was quite rudely interrupted by what sounded like singing. Koko dropped her arm from playing position, and it would appear that she was holding it awkwardly by the neck of the instrument. Her right hand held the bow across her chest, and in her eyes were the battling emotions of amusement and confusion. "Uhm... Hello..?" She shot a smile at the newcomer, but it wasn't reflected in her eyes. The smile was only a cover for all of the confusion and slight fear inside of her, though her amusement stopped her from looking like a brat.

Her eyes fell upon the girl's outfits. Her robes were quite a few sizes too big - did she know about pins? She could probably use those to make her look less swallowed... Her hair, however frizzy and tangled, made her look adorable and made Koko want to protect her. Overall, her look made her look cute yet dishevelled, and not at all terrifying. That was enough for Koko to know that she could probably trust the girl.

Her singing, which was terribly off-key to the musically-trained blonde, made her eyes widen. What the hell..? And then Koko noticed how raggedy her robes were. Did she like it that way? Why was it that way? Koko suddenly had a ton of questions that were quite likely to go unasked. She didn't want to seem rude or anything!

Still, she would at least make sure that this girl was okay. She seemed awkward around Koko and Min-seo. "Hello, are you all right?" Koko said softly, not trying to scare her - because sure, she was scary. Koko knew what it was like to deal with scary people, and she did not want to be viewed as one.

Dinara may have been intimidated, yes, but her pride was something that remained steadfast in spite of the situations that she may have been thrown in. In this particular scenario, the note of pity -- as subtle as the two may have tried to hide it, hung in the air like a suspended string, taut with tension -- was received quite clearly by the Hufflepuff.

The two may have had good reason to feel pity for the raggedy lass; considering the stark contrast between the girls. Both the two seemed to have originated from some planet that produced impeccably dressed girls... Then there was Dinara. If she just had larger ears, one might have even confused her for some sort of a Goblin Half Breed. Still, being pitied in any way didn't sit very well with Dinara at all and the girl bit back a desire to shoot the two a dirty glare. After all, they were trying to be kind, weren't they? Of course, in reality, perception and intention oftentimes don't align -- the duo's kind intentions were certainly not lost on the girl, though she couldn't help but let out a slight grumble.

The Rehearsal Room may oft be associated with elegance and glamour but as an aspiring performer herself (one that is still in need of much training, that is), it was within Dinara's every right to peruse the room as she saw fit. If the two could practice their two instruments side by side, why couldn't she practice her little twirling and prancing?

"Nice to meet y'all too. I'm doing very well, and am quite alright, thank you for asking." Dipping down into what she thought was a properly executed curtsy (it wasn't), Dinara continued on her way, twirling to her own incredibly off-key melody in some form of an ironic contemporary dance interpretation. Pausing, she turned to look back at the two girls. "Well, don't mind me, I'll just be here doing my little thing!"

A large grin and a thumbs up followed that statement before Dinara continued spinning about the room like some form of a demented spinning top. The mud that had gathered at the hem of her robes had started to drag along the floor of the Rehearsal Room, creating some form of a mud-painting, much to the dismay of the poor House Elves who had to upkeep the pristine standards of cleanliness that the Rehearsal Room was often upheld to.

Goodness, the girl was quite awkward, none the less, but seemed like she was quite kind. Y'all? She hadn't really heard that before. Min-seo grew up in a posh, elegant family and had never heard the abbreviation before, and was it from America maybe? Min-seo had never been to America before, but apparently it was nice. You see, growing up in a wealthy family of business, meant that Min-seo always had to be elegant, composed, and by all means, dressed as fine as she could. If she wasn't, it was quite weird for her. She would wear like, sweatpants and a tank top for dance or hanging out around the house, for example, but if she was somewhere public, oh you wouldn't see her in that. Also, the curtsy was clumsy, but kind of funnily adorable. She bowed her head with a smile as the girl said she was doing good. "Lovely," she said, tilting her head to the side slightly. She watched the girl (in horror) as she dragged her muddy clothing across the poor floor. Goodness, what a mess. Usually the room was quite tidy, but this, oh goodness, this was the opposite of tidy. She turned back to her harp, plucking the strings lightly, trying to think of what to do.

Koko raised a single eyebrow as the newcomer moved around and spoke, but she said nothing. Y'all? Koko thought about what it would sound like in her clear, high voice. It would sound really awkward, especially with her thick British accent that now sounded fake. Koko set down the instrument and sighed. It wouldn't be in her best interest to play right now. "How did you get mud all over your robes?" she asked softly. "Surely it must annoy you."

The blonde's eyes widened as the Hufflepuff spun around the room all of a sudden. "A-aah!" she exclaimed, grabbing her instrument once again and pressing herself to the wall. The sudden movement had scared her quite a bit. "Doesn't... That make you... Dizzy?" the girl wondered aloud. Koko began loosening her bow and putting her violin away. The blonde-haired Slytherin smiled softly. "Just try not to hurt yourself. It's good to hear that you're doing well." The smile wasn't fake; it was genuine. Still, Koko was unsure about to act around these two. She'd met Min-seo, so she wasn't worried about her, but the other..?

"My name's Koko," said Koko, "What's your name?" She zipped up her violin case and set it against the wall. She then sat down on the bench of the Rehearsal Room's ever-present piano bench. She wouldn't play, but she could at least let her feet relax.
