@Min-seo Kim
Airlia sat with her back straight and hands on her knees at her seat by the head table. Her father was on her right side and her mother in the seat next to him.
The head table was made of white marble with golden decorations as was much of their ballroom. It was placed at the very end of the ballroom where they could see the vast open space of chandeliers and golden ornaments of the room where their guest were beginning the first dance. Which by tradition the main family of Winter weren't allowed to participate in, they just had to watch and join into the second dance.
The ballroom was in the old castle which stood at the edge of the town of Taika. It's where the Winter family lived for centuries, generation by generation until a hundred years ago when Airlia's grand-grandfather said that they needed to be closer to their people and more approachable. And thus the Winter mansion was built into the very center of their town and the whole family moved there.
And Airlia's grand-grandfather had been right. While still they were deemed to have grace, a high status and a great bloodline they now appeared less like royalty and more like high-borns or nobility even though officially they were neither.
The old castle was still kept tidy and usable. The Winter family would never let it loose it's grand appearance. And no other room than the ballroom was ever used and even that only twice a year for the mid-summer ball and the mid-winter ball.
The two events were almost identical. The only difference was the food and the dress code. During the summer ball, it was formal but women wore colorful gowns. The winter ball was the same but women were only allowed to wear white. Summer ball had fresh food, berries, and salads, fish, and vegetables in divine dishes. Winter ball was more meat based with deer and reindeer.
Now Airlia sat and watched the beautiful women and men bow to her family and begin the slow waltz.

"Ms. Kim, please keep still." the maid said as Min-seo squirmed slightly when she was placing blush on her cheeks. It tickled. She calmed down and the maid continued her work. She decorated Min's face with a light layer of makeup. natural eyeliner, blush, and light pink lip gloss. She looked like a porcelain doll. Her long blackish brown hair had been curled and pulled back, and she was wearing a blue dress with little white flats to cover her petite feet. Her eyes looked bigger than usual, giving her an innocent look.
"Min-seo?! Are you done in there?" Min-seo's brother called out in rapid Korean. "Yes! I'm coming!" she yelled back, also in Korean. The maid gave her a confused look. She smiled apologetically and said that she needed to go. The maid nodded and led her down the marble stairs to where her Godfather, Jin, and her brother, Ji-woo, were standing. She took Ji-woo's arm and they grabbed the portkey to the mansion.
When they arrived, Min smiled. This mansion was quite impressive. Her own was slightly smaller, and her ballroom was as well for sure. She gripped Ji-woo's arm tighter as they ascended up the steps. When she got inside, she curtsied to the Winters, noticing a girl about her age. She was quite too shy to say anything though. Her and Ji-woo made it the wall, and teenager asked him to dance, who was around 16, Ji-woo's age. He accepted and they left her. Jin took her hand with a smile and lead her out to the dance floor. Min-seo was an exceptional dancer, and she knew the waltz very well. She loved her Godfather a lot, and he taught her.

Airlia looked at the people dancing on the floor and stayed silent when her mother leaned over her whispered about a white-haired boy around the age of 15 or 16 at the front of the dance floor. Once again Airlia's mother was trying to find her a future husband and Airlia, like the good girl she was promised to introduce herself to the young man later that day.
Airlia smiled kindly as she watched the people dance. She wished her brother was here. Since he'd ran away from home to be with his boyfriend Airlia had felt lonely at home and no event was as fun as it had been with her brother's company. No more witty remarks or someone to escape to when she was tired or bored. Now her parents were watching her closer than ever since now; if her brother wasn't soon found; she was the new heir of the Winter family.
She had to be flawless. Airlia's mother had done her hair. Her wavy white locks were twisted into a classy bun with lily of the valley berries twisted into it.
She wasn't allowed to wear makeup yet, she would have to wait until she was thirteen so all she had was some lipgloss and the tiniest bit of mascara.
And to finish up her appearance her mother had picked her dress. It was soft blue, only a hint more vivid in color than baby blue. It was off the shoulder with slightly see-through poofy sleeves. It had red, white and blue flower detailing delicately placed on her shoulders, wrists and down one side of her chest. A red thin belt cinched in at her waist and left the bottom of the gown to flow down towards the floor like a waterfall.
Airlia kept looking to the crowd dancing the soft first dance waltz and noticed a girl wearing a dress that was almost the same shade of blue as hers. The girl had pale skin and dark hair that made the color of the dress pop put even more. She danced as well as Airlia's mother who was known for her ballroom dancing skills.
She wondered who the girl was and got her answer from her mother who calmly explained that the girl was from the Kim family that the Winter family was in business with.

Min-seo let out a giggle as she twirled around the dance floor in grace. She was half veela, so she looked extra-beautiful, which was kind of a problem for her. She looked out of the corner of her eye to see Ms. Winter and Mrs. Winter looking at her. She went a bit red and continued to dance. Why were they looking at her? She heard the song end and everyone bowed to their partners. She curtsied to her Godfather as the first dance ended. She went over to the buffet to grab a glass of water before going out to dance again. This place was quite extravagant, and she was slightly overwhelmed. Her Godfather was extremely rich, and had ties with the ministry, hence why she was at the party. Her Grandmother was here as well, but Min-seo couldn't see her in the crowd of people. She was looking for a suitor for Min-seo, for she wanted to keep the pureblood lineage going. Min-seo didn't want to, but she had no choice. She sighed slightly and drank more of her water. Some of the people were quite snooty here, all being purebloods, but that wasn't uncommon. There were probably people here from school.

Airlia gracefully rose from her seat and walked over to the dance floor. She didn't miss the significant nod her mother aimed at her, and then to the blond-haired boy that had now moved from the dance floor to stand by the wall with a glass goblet filled with water.
Airlia knew the ways of her people and how things worked in these events. As such she couldn't go ask the young man to dance. She would have to wait for him to ask her.
So she walked over to the biggest window of the room that wasn't too far from the blond youth. She stood and politely curtsied to a red-headed boy who walked over to her and asked her to dance. When she aimed her eyes to her mother and saw her shake her head in disapproval, Airlia politely turned the freckled boy down.
The next dance began and Airlia stood by the sidelines and watched her parents sway delicately in the middle of the dance floor. At times like these Airlia couldn't help but think how beautiful her mother and father were. Both with their long fair hair and impeccable sense of style. They certainly always drew eyes fro crowds as they walked by.
After the end of the dance, it didn't take Airlia's mother long to reach her. "You are not to dance with a girl, but I hope you will spend time speaking to miss Kim over there. Her godfather is a valuable business partner and a friendship between you will make our alliance pass on to the next generation."
"Yes, mother." Airlia said and looked at the girl she had noticed earlier. So this was her mother's plan. This is why she was quick to answer Airlia's question about the girl and seemed to be giving the girl more attention than the rest while she danced. They must have deemed her acceptable for future alliances.
Airlia walked, well more like glided as the soft fabric of her dress moved with each of her steps; over to the dark-haired girl. "My name is Airlia Winter. I do hope you are enjoying the ball and will share some of your time with me."

Min-seo curtsied as a boy with dark brown hair asked to dance. She politely accepted and she was lead to the dance floor. The boy was also an exceptional dancer, which was nice for her. They waltzed across the floor, completely in sync. She looked like an angel of sorts and she whisked pass Mr. and Madam Winter as she danced.
As the dance ended, she curtsied to her partner and was immediately asked by another boy. She politely declined, for she needed to rest. She promised him the next dance though. She made her way to her brother, who was being picked up by ladies left and right. She smiled softly to him and he bowed his head in return. Her family was quite beautiful, which was part of the reason people wanted to dance, also because they were amazing dancers, all three of them. She felt a presence behind her and turned around to face Airlia Winter. She curtsied to her. "It's a pleasure, Airlia. My name is Min-seo Kim. And of course I'll share time with you," she said. She was a bit nervous, being this was the girl from the Winter family, but she stayed composed on the outside.

Airlia smiled softly to the well-mannered girl and said: "You seem familiar to me. Have we perhaps met before at an event like this?"
As people passed the two girls Airlia politely nodded to those who curtsied to her or greeted her. At moments like this, there was no room for errors. Appearances and first impressions ruled the events of sophisticated purebloods and Airlia wished that she could be somewhere far away; traveling the world with her brother, avoiding all these expectations and unwritten rules of heiress perfection.
Airlia thought back to the last letter she'd gotten from her brother. She'd gotten it a week ago and he'd been in Namibia; helping muggle children who didn't have anywhere to go or look after them. An orphanage he'd named heiligdom which meant sanctuary in Afrikaans.
Airlia swiped a curl of hair back into its place in her hairdo and wondered where the girl in front of her was from. Certainly not from Finland. Maybe she was American? She lacked the thick accent some of the people speaking around them had. Airlia could hear a French accent and a lot of posh British voices. And America was one of the countries that didn't have as much of an accent as everyone else... Well except maybe in Texas.
All Airlia wanted was to leave the ballroom and the castle it was in behind so she could return to their pearly white mansion and into her room. There she could change out of her dress and into a pajama and watch people from her window as they returned to their houses or apparated somewhere far away.
But she knew at home a certain tight atmosphere would be in the air. No one was happy at home now... The lack of her brother's presence had driven her mother on edge. She spent hours a day trying to figure out where he might be and had hired Aurors and detectives to look for him relentlessly. Meanwhile, Airlia somehow got the feeling that her father didn't even try to find her brother. Airlia was sure that her father understood why her brother had left and loved him enough to let him go seek his own path.
Airlia could already hear the whispered questions in the room. The sudden absence of her older brother had not gone unnoticed and people were wondering where he'd gone. Afterall he would never be allowed to miss the ball completely unless he was on his deathbed...

Min-seo gave her a confused look as she thought. "No, I'm afraid we didn't. We must've seen each other in passing. Maybe we go to the same school?" she asked.
She didn't remember talking to the girl before, did she go to Hogwarts by any chance? It would make sense, she guessed, the girl was from Finland. She calmly bowed her head slightly to the other people as they wondered who she was, talking to one of the Winters. She bowed her head slightly towards Airlia before grabbing a glass of water quickly before returning. She sipped it slightly, trying to stay hydrated. She would get very light headed very fast at parties, mostly due to all the activity around her. She felt a tap on her shoulder from the boy that asked her to dance earlier. The one with light blonde hair. The next dance had started. She turned to Airlia. "I will talk with you after this dance if that's alright with you?" she said with a polite smile. She took his hand and he led her back to the dance floor. This one was quite fast compared to the first two. She saw Jin dancing with a remarkably beautiful woman and Ji-woo with one of the girls that surrounded him earlier. He was quite the charmer.

Airlia smiled and stood aside by the wall once again as she watched the dark-haired girl twirl with the beautiful waltz.
Airlia knew the dance instantly, after all, it was one of her favorites Voices of Spring by Johann Strauss. Composed for Heidelberg-born coloratura soprano, Bianca Bianchi. It has a nice happy tone to it that repeated and it's dance included many twirls and danced circles.
All in all the music made the room come alive as many people knew the song and joined the dance without a second thought. It was a rather simple song but had a surprisingly difficult choreography when danced.
"I go to Hogwarts." Airlia said when the girl returned from dancing. "I am starting my second year soon in the loyal house of Hufflepuff."
Airlia was proud of her school. One of the most prestigious of all the wizarding schools and known for its good curriculum and house separation.
"Where do you go to school?" She asked when she noticed her mother giving her a warm look once she saw her speaking with miss Kim.
Airlia didn't want to dance tonight. She was one of those types that danced perfectly sometimes, and other times like a dashound. When she had off-days she was clumsy and it seemed that her legs were too tiny to take the necessary steps, or she was stepping on her dance partners feet constantly.
Now she felt like she might be having an off day and thus settled to leaning against the wall with a crystal champagne glass in hand that the butler of the even had just brought to her on a silver tray.

Min-seo curtsied to the boy and he kissed her hand before she wandered off, her veela effect affecting everyone, wondering who the mysterious girl was who danced perfectly, despite her small size. She grabbed another glass of water, clutching her head slightly, a headache forming. She returned to Airlia once more with a small smile. "Hello again," she said, bowing her head. So Miss Winter was a Hufflepuff. She nodded slightly. "Well it does seem we go to the same school. I am in Slytherin, second year, although I'm t sure how I got into that house, despite me being quite ambitious," she said, taking a sip of her water. She looked over at her Godfather, who seemed to be talking with a few men holding champagne glasses, all of them laughing at something he said and one of the men patting his back with a big smile. Looks like he was having a fine time. Her eyes drifted around the room as the elegantly dressed men and women talked amongst themselves. She sighed, swirling the water in her glass. She brushed the loose strands of long black hair out of her face as she kept drinking the water, her headache still prominent.
