It took me a long time to figure out what I wanted to do about your owl you sent me. Getting that on the last day of school was awful; it sent me into a summer where I wasn't sure if I wanted to talk to my own dad.
I think I know where I stand now.
I do want to talk to you again. I want things between us to be less harsh. But you have to understand that I'm happy living with Cassie and Kora. I don't know if I want our living arrangements to change, but I do know that talking would be a good start.
I had a nice talk with Cassie about all this. I'm sure things must be rough between all of us, but especially you two. I hope you two can find common ground to figure out what to do about this whole situation though. I think I know a bit what she wants to do. I like having her in my life, though. I think it's nice having that maternal figure around.
Let me catch you up on my life: I'm a prefect now! It's kind of scary, but I'm having fun with it. I'm not sure how much you and Cassie talk nowadays, so I'm not sure if she told you this, but I got sorted in Hufflepuff. Mum's house was Gryffindor, and Cassie was a Slytherin. And over the summer, I helped organize the summer camp and moderated some events!
I've got some friends here, too. They understand me. I've even been able to go out running! The grounds are so nice. Except for when it's rained, then it's slick and muddy. Remember when I started running? I suppose it mostly started when Cassie, Kora, and I moved off to Kent, but maybe you remember how much I loved it before we moved.
I think I'll end it here. Sorry I left you wondering if I would answer for months. I just wanted to let you know I think I'm starting to understand.
