Arrivals
The members arrive and introduce themselves.
Local Cuisine
Thai stir-fried rice, steamed sticky rice, pork, mushrooms, steamed buns, Northern-style hors d'oeuvres, Mai Curry Noodles, rice noodles with spicy pork sauce, herbal water, ice cream, grass jelly, fried banana, tomato rice, Sip Song Panna, Thai Ancient Ice.
Phang Prateep
Lighting these special candles is meant to show gratitude to all of your benefactors. It is to show how much you appreciate anything in your life, such as shelter, friends, items etc... The light symbolizes prosperity and enlightenment too. For our purposes the lights will be lit only until the meeting is over and then they are put out.
Krathong
Floating paper boats are placed in a body of water (we will use the Great Lake for us) and sent off. This is a way to pay homage to your ancestors, remove bad fortune from your life and make wishes for the future. A romantic belief is that if a couple sets their boats in the water together and they stay together until they reach the other side of the water, they will be together forever.
Khomloy / Sky Lanterns
Sky lanterns are lit and released into the air which then float up into the dark sky, symbolizing getting rid of your bad luck and all negative aspects of your life.

Friday, November 1st, 2024. Kim had planned on holding the first meeting of all of his clubs one right after the other but not all on the same days... That would have been impossible as he had so many he was in charge of and not enough time in the day to achieve such a feat. But he could make them take place chronologically in order. But when it came to the Asian Society Club, Kim decided he needed much more time to prepare for this one. Therefore, after careful consideration, Kim sent out owls to everyone letting them know the first club meeting would be held on Friday, November 1st. This gave him enough time to prepare all the activities and find out how to make all the food involved, even doing trial runs to make sure everything would run smoothly when it was held later.

At last the time was upon them and Kim felt really tired from all the work he'd put into this. Even if there weren't many people signed up for the Asian Society Club, at least there were a few with him. As long as there was even one, it was worth all the effort. Kim headed down to the Great Lake and chose a beautiful spot for the meeting to be held at. It was near the Great Lake's waters but not too close to them. Setting his pack down with Kibō coiled around it as usual, Kim took out five tiny little toy picnic tables from it and placed four of them down onto the ground together. Glancing around, Kim set the last picnic table down a little away from the others and pointed his wand at it. "Engorgio!" Kim incanted and moved his wand through the required special movements it took.

Instantly, the miniature picnic table began huge and Kim smiled at the result. He repeated this process until there were six total picnic tables set up alongside the landscape.

Once this was done, Kim reached into his pack again and produced many containers. Inside were miniature dishes he'd made over the past few days. He cast the Engorgement Charm on all of them and they returned to their original size when he'd first made them. Setting them down onto the picnic tables, Kim smiled again. It had been a lot of hard work but it looked spectacular. Even if only one person came here, the food wouldn't go to waste. He'd hand it out to random students or teachers. Or perhaps hold an unofficial event relating to eating Asian food. Out of the six picnic tables laid out, only five had food laden on top of them. The remaining one was meant for club members to take a seat with their food and eat there as they comfortably talked amongst eachother.

For now, Kibō was content to wrap himself around Kim's backpack lying against a nearby tree and watch. But later, the snake might slither off in search of his own prey while the humans ate. All that remained for now was to wait for club members to arrive. Kim was curious to know how many would actually come. If/when someone DID show up, he would beckon them over with a wave and flash a smile at them. "Welcome to the Asian Society Club. Please, grab some food and take a seat at the table with me." Kim would tell them. Who wouldn't want to join this club? Great homemade food from different cultures and you could learn a little about festivals, holidays and celebrations from all over the Asian countryside? It was really fun and exciting, at least to him.

You didn't even have to be Asian to join, you just had to have an interest in Asian culture.

Hana had signed up for the Asian Society Club at Hogwarts, as a Japanese and Korean herself, Hana wanted to learn more about her own culture and other Asian cultures all around the world. Hana waited for a long time for the first meeting of this fabulous club and she received an owl about it days ago. 'Today's the first meeting of the Asian Society Club! I wonder what the meeting is about, hope it's something very fun! Because it's the first meeting, let me wear the Japanese traditional clothing - kimono!' Hana then took out a pale pink kimono from her wardrobe, the kimono is scattered with purple sakura pattern.

After wearing the kimono and tying her hair into a low bun, Hana went down to the Great Lake. The first few things Hana saw were six picnic tables near the water of the Great Lake. On the picnic tables, there were a lot of yummy dishes, Hana mumbled, 'Roasted sweet potatoes, Luk Chup. Oooh, they all look so delicious, I wanna try'em all!' Then, Hana walked towards the picnic table. Hana saw an older student setting up the place so she greeted him. 'Oh, Hi! I am Hana Suzuki, I'm one of the members of this Asian Society Club. I'm guessing that you are the leader of this club, right? Looking at this setup, I started to feel hungry. Well, if you don't mind, I'll go to the tables and wait for other members to come.'

After that, Hana approached the picnic tables to wait for other people to join her while looking at those mouth-watering snacks.

The Asian Society Club was a club Kim had obtained from a previous student and it was something he'd been wanting to explore more over the past few weeks. After coming out from the darkness that had consumed him before, Kim was ready to revive some of the clubs he'd neglected over the past two years. The ASC was one of them. Being Asian was something to celebrate but it didn't necessarily mean only Asians could join, despite the title that could be misleading to some.

Kim wanted to spread knowledge about Asian festivals and cultures with anyone who was interested in learning more about them. As a result of this, he'd offered Bailey the co-leader position of the club after learning she hadn't joined only because she'd thought she had to be Asian to be part of the club. This in turn had made Kim wonder how many people might have joined if they had also been under a misconception about the nature of the club. It became a great fear of his.

Could some members not be coming because they thought non-Asian's wouldn't be allowed to join? If no one came to this meeting, Kim would definitely take matters into his own hands and pay each of the members a visit to see if they knew the club took anyone with an interest in Asian culture and festivals. He'd also put up new posters, specifically stating you only needed to have an interest in the subject matter and not actually be Asian. This new info had stressed him.

When the time finally came for the first meeting of the year to take place, Kim waited anxiously before the picnic tables for the members.

Thankfully, one member showed up at least, hopefully more would too. "You look absolutely adorable!" Kim exclaimed with a smile as Hana showed up to the meeting and came over to the tables. "Kim Aoki. Yes, I'm the leader of the club. Hopefully, the other members show up. I'm kind of worried about the rumor that was floating around about the club." He admitted, biting down on his upper lip. If Bailey showed up, things would be better for him.

It would show the ASC accepted everyone with an interest in Asian cultures and festivals. But until then, he'd just stew in his nervousness.
