The pale girl walked up to the Poudlard courtyard from Hogsmeade, carrying her luggage. Rainbow mascara lined her normally pale lashes, adding a pop of colour against her pink eyes. Even though it wasn't too bright, she wore a stiff rimmed sun hat. The sun affected her skin badly. Vampire rumors could not be avoided.
A pale yellow sweatshirt hid her skin from the atmosphere, a white turtleneck shirt popping up from the under. Fancy gloves coated her hands. Her face was the only skin uncovered. A matching long skirt hid her legs, yet she wore leggings and tall boots under.
Golden, the dyed colour of the ends of her long, unpigmented hair. It matched the rest of her yellow getup. Well, it was brighter.
The pale girl held herself high and respectfully, as she was raised. Nobility was in her blood, and she had to represent it while she was at the English school. She could spot the grand Académie in front of her. "C'est incroyable."It's amazing. The French girl mumbled to herself.
Her shaking eyes scanned around the courtyard, admiring the place. She had heard about this place from her father, when he went to Poudlard for balls and such. It was fascinating. It was also huge. Must have been very cher. "Je be dois pas me perdre."I mustn't get lost.

| ••••••••• | •••••••• The one obvious detail that Sanguinius had noticed about the girl, as the clacking of the heels of her boots came to a halt against the asphalt of the pavement that separated the grass from the weeds that stuck out of the fissures, was the staggering amount of yellow that was practically wrapped around the whole of her body.
He was never the type to look down on the way people dressed themselves, rather, it was more of a maddening habit that slipped out at the worst of times - similar to a lisp or chewing on the dried skin off of your lip, he was simply... making an observation about what he saw in front of him. It was hard to ignore the vibrancy under the simmering heat of the sun, seeming almost forced but welcomed on the girl's behalf, clashing with the unhealthy insipid of her pallid complexion like the skin of something that had yet to start the process of deterioration - of decay. A more than unsettling contrast that was made among the idyllic ribbons of hues, the rotting husk of a corpse playing dress-up, looking more like a hollow puppet than a porcelain doll. Her lashes, coated in a sheen of even more vivid colors rather than the summer daffodil of her clothes, fluttered over the softness of her cheeks each time her squinted gaze darted all over the courtyard -- as if she were attempting to find a sign that had directions. " Were you meant to meet with somebody? " Sanguinius’ voice had rung out, low and echoing like that of a bell of a cathedral, there was still a subtle edge to it that seemed at odds with the supposed politeness of the question that stuck out like a thorn in a bush. He had been walking towards to the pathway that led out to the grounds when the strange sight of her had caught his attention and, by extension, his rapt curiosity - it was not a day-to-day occurrence to see someone muttering incomprehensible phrases underneath their breath, to themselves, no less. As he approached, the lion had clasped his hands behind his back, running the padding of his other fingers over the callouses that decorated the surface of his other hand -- he could never get them to soften, even with all of the ointments that he had used in the past. All of the countless times that he had picked himself from off of the floor, held the weight of the steel in his hands, and bandaged the blisters had forced him to trade the tenderness for grit. It would have been much easier to wear gloves like the girl had, Sanguinius thought, noting how they were securely fitted to remain tight against her skin. In fact, now that he was close enough to look over her attire for a second time, not even an accidental peek of the wrist or a glimpse of bone-white flesh other than her face could be seen. With how the autumnal equinox had slowly been inching towards the harsh, frostbitten season of Yule, the girl had either used her common sense and dressed wisely for the coming cold or she harbored some severe allergy to the sun that could not be fixed with no average potion. " You seem out of place, " he sneered, clouded eyes with the tiniest specks of cobalt narrowed at the heavy baggage in her hands before it returned to her. Even with the distance between them, he was, if not, taken aback to see the slanted irises of a feline staring straight back at him once the rounded fringes of her sunhat came out of view -- they were pink. A dhampir, then. Not to mention, one that looked like she was right around his age, it would have been a great tragedy if she were not. He'd read somewhere, in the dusty volumes that were coveted in the darkest corners of the Demarest Library, that dhampirs were prone to the effects of aging like a normal human would have but still carried the slowness that their vampiric heritage wrought -- their bodies never quite subject to the ravages of time whereas their minds bore the weight of decades, centuries, even. " The castle interior does have that effect on people at first. Disorienting as it is. Assuming that you arrived at the front entrance of the castle, the courtyard is very far from wherever you should be. " Sanguinius let out a silent huff that sounded suspiciously more like a laugh as he watched the expression on her features shift in real time, but it was difficult to guess with the frown he always had on -- he could not understand her initial admiration for the place, or why she was so easily impressed with the traces of overgrown ivy that were draped over the walkways and the crumbling stone of the structures. Hell, there were even weeds coming out of the ground. " There's far better places than this. I can show you, if you'd like. Pulling those trunks along must be quite the effort. |
