The Ravenclaw Table 2024-2025

The Great Hall was filled with chatter and the clatter of silverware as the festivities of the evening were in full swing. An unfamiliar voice besides him drew the boy's attention, turning his whole body to the left he saw who was speaking. It was a female with long black hair already wearing Ravenclaw robes signifying that she was an older student. "I'm not really sure what Ravenclaw is" The boy laughed and flashed a childish grin. Before continuing on with his sentence he reached out and grabbed what he thought was turkey leg.

"Said something about wits the hat did," He paused again this time to grab some corn on the cobb, and to take a swig of his drink. " I was a C student!"" He finally finished his sentenced with a laugh. "I'm Steven by the way." He introduced himself to the older girl with a shy smile. He wasn't used to being so talkative with strangers - especially with females. The atmosphere of the Great Hall surely played a role in that. Maybe Ravenclaw was the best house for him to grow in, he thought to himself.

He took a brief moment to look down the table both ways trying to memorize all the faces he could see. These were the people he would spending a lot of time with after all. I surely hope so! " He replied to another first year who had hoped the food was this good every day. If the dinner was this good, Steven couldn't wait to see what his favorite meal of the day, breakfast was like.

Being sucked into chatter and distracted by the many aromas filling the air Steven wasn't paying much attention to what was going on around him. By this time ghosts were now gliding up and down the tables and interacting with the students. "There's ghosts here?!" Steven exclaimed with wide eyes. His cheeks instantly went rose colored as he was embarrassed by his outburst hoping of the ghosts hadn't overheard.

Geraldine was a bit self-conscious eating at the table. She was sure the way she did it was different from the ways most did it. She didn't want to be the one to smack her hands across the food to figure out what it all was precisely, her father was a physician, and so she knew more than enough about hygiene. Though, that was muggle hygiene. She wasn't sure how hygiene worked in this society. She also wasn't good enough at hearing for the precision of detail. Luckily the food seemed to be emitting a reasonable amount of aroma, she could get by for the moment. "Is this all magic? Or is the food made somewhere else?" These were the questions that she thought only one raised muggle would ask.

When the boy mentioned ghosts, she wasn't sure how much of that to believe. Her natural instinct was to say he was just messing around, but she did hear the extra voices that seemed to come out of nowhere, and they seemed more adult like. The staff ate separately right? So it couldn't be them. Maybe Geraldine won't ever get used to some aspects of magic. In a way she was hoping none of the ghosts would interact with her. "Ah, well, I guess with magic anything is possible... there aren't any ghosts on me are there?" She wasn't exactly sure where on the corporeal-scale these ghosts were supposed to be.

"Ravenclaw is a lovely house. We Ravenclaw's have at least one or more of the traits for Ravenclaw which are cleverness, wisdom, wit, intellectual ability and creativity, if I remember correctly. Well, if the hat said something about wits, then this is the place for you! Ah, you went to muggle school too? I think I was a B or A- student, honestly, I forgot. Nice to meet you Steven, I'm Tracey," Tracey says in reply to the younger boys statement.

Tracey hadn't attended muggle school in a while, so she forgot what her average was. The aroma coming from the food was so strong and Tracey decided it was time to begin eating. As she was eating, the ghosts seem to have decided to come and welcome all the new Hogwarts students.

Tracey smiled at the sight of them. She loved the ghosts of Hogwarts. They were all very nice, and honestly, Tracey was amazed by them when she first saw them. Hearing Steven suddenly exclaim that there's ghosts here made Tracey giggle a bit before she says,
"Yes, there are ghosts here. Their really nice. Honestly, the ghosts are one of the things I love most about Hogwarts. Well, all the ghosts are nice except one, Peeves, the poltergeist. Trust me, you wanna stay away from him,"

Andy strode into the great hall on this fantastic, but still, a normal day. He still needed to wake up, and he still needed to put on his robes. Why can't he just go in his dress robes? What a stupid rule. He should inform the Headmaster about this. He sat down for his usual plate of eggs, bacon, and pumpkin juice, when he overheard the words "Muggle School" From a fellow Ravenclaw. Andy had to step in. He was a muggle after all. I think I was a B or A- student. Andy heard the girl say. Hello, I think you might know me, I am Andy, the most talk-ative kid in the whole house. I was a B student at muggle school too. The girl was also talking to a very new face. Maybe he was a first year. He was a muggle too, like the girl, and Andy. So, a C student you say, Well, I here, in Hogwarts am a A student which stands for Acceptable. So, I am a C student here... You are not the only one.
He took a swig of his pumpkin juice. He could feel the chill in the air. It was getting very cold. Soon, he will need a scarf for flying lessons. Andy gobbled up his eggs and bacon, but, since he didn't have classes on this Saturday, he decided to stay. He likes knowing a lot about people's lives. Andy took a napkin, and wiped his face, waiting for a answer or a question from at least from one of them.

Adventures should always start with a feast...
Time: Immediately following his Sorting and the conclusion of the Ceremony...

Following the great shout from the Sorting Hat and the resounding cheer from one particular table covered in bronze and blue decorations, Kojo waited until the hat was removed before he swiftly dismounted the stool and made his way to his new peers. Despite his initial nerves and uncertainty, he could not hold back his trademark lopsided smile as he was met with warm greets and an oft-patted back. If there was one thing that could help him get over a new environment full of unfamiliar eyes and faces, it was a warm welcome and warmer food.

The buzz of it all had occupied - rather, twisted - his stomach quite a bit, so it was not until he was sat with great-looking food in front of him that he realized how hungry he was. He peered at the various plated meats in front of him, paralyzed by the sheer number of options he had... But he remembered what his father always said to him when it came to food, "Eat your vegetables first, so you can finish off with the stuff you -really- want to eat..."

There would be an audible grumble come from Acheampong if his father had not disciplined negative outbursts at orders out of the boy. Instead, dutifully despite the fact that there was a lack of parental presence that ensured he ate his vegetables, he made half of his first (of a few...) plate green, and the other half a variety of smoked, cured, cooked, and grilled meats that could have induced a drool in the lad.

Maybe Hogwarts would not be so bad.

Erendriel happily sat at a vacant seat at the Ravenclaw table, her excitement she felt had not yet faded, her heart is still racing from the Sorting. She drew curious glances from Ravenclaw students as she approached the long table, some of whom offered a small welcoming smiles and congratulations, She smiled shyly from the attention.

The feast finally begins, the students reached for their foods and laughter bubbled over as they shared stories of their vacations to their friends. As her gaze wanders over to the students around her, she noticed their laughter and bantter felt so natural for them. I can't wait to have a friend here, someone I could talk with. They all look so happy and excited for this year’s classes and activities, Is there a club here? A group program? Or a study group? I wish I could join them. A mall satisfied smile tugging at her lips.

Every food on the Ravenclaw table has so many choices to choose from, that includes hearty meals, such as creamy soups, roast meats, pastries, vegetables, fruits, and refreshing desserts that made her lick her lips. She eagerly snd happily helped herself to a bit of everything, loving every bite of the meaty and creamy meals as it melt in her mouth, and setting aside the vegetables. She then reached for a platter of roast chicken. Oh! Even Hogwarts food is delicious, and everything is so perfect! she thought happily, feeling a relief settled over her.

Erendriel looked at the boy next to her and saw the way he had prepared his meal, His plate is stuffed and piled with a variety of meats and vegetables. She couldn’t help but smile at the contrast; she doesn’t like vegetables, especially the slimy and bitter ones.

“That’s quite a plate you’ve got there, it is too green-y” she said with a smile her eyes sparkling with curiosity.

He looked at her and said “Gotta have balance, A little bit of everything. Can’t let the meat have all the fun.” He gestured to the vegetables with a fork.

Erendriel laughed softly. “I like the way you think.”

“Heh, blame my papa. I’m Kojo by the way, and you are?”

“Erendriel.” She nodded and smiled softly.

She turned to her plate while smiling as she took another bite of her roasted chicken. It’s nice how easy it is to talk with everyone here, I can’t wait to learn and enjoy every moment of my stay at Hogwarts.

Kojo started his way through his vegetables - he ate them with a quickness that belied enjoyment, as if he truly liked greens so much that he could not get enough of them... Which was anything but the truth. In his mind, the faster he scarfed them down, the faster he could get to the good stuff - and of the good stuff, there was a lot of. He was a bratwurst kind of kid, especially smoked or grilled brats. Topped with a good sauce (a good spicy sauce was best), and he could eat until he threw up (which sounds like a joke or exaggeration, but he had done it once - his eyes had been way too extremely big for his own stomach).

Of course, after he had scarfed down all of the vegetables he had loaded onto his plate, he took a second and sipped some water, before he looked over at the girl who had been sorted with him earlier that night. "D'ya know much about Hogwarts, or like... House Ravenclaw? My family doesn't have any Hogwart alumnus, they've all gone to Uagadou. We're not really from here," he chuckled, though it would have been a rather obvious observation to anyone who took the time - he was one of the least European people in the Hall, from his accent, to his hair, to his mannerisms. He had lived quite a while in London, but he had not adopted the culture very much.

He hoped he did not stick out too much as a foreigner, and he hoped that the other students either did not care or embraced his difference - so far, even from this conversation with the shockingly blonde, pale Erendriel, it seemed as though his time at Hogwarts would good, if not great. The other students were friendly, the food was fantastic, and he had heard tales of how grand the library was.

Lucy wasn't a slow eater. Well, as a matter of fact, she wasn't an eater at all at times like this, when, bare five minutes before the lessons started with Transfiguration that day, she was in a rush. Her robes were far from in a representative state, and so was the rest of the uniform as well as her hair. She clearly hadn't got enough time to take care of it, so she was tying it up while running through the Great Hall, towards the glorious Ravenclaw Table.

"Uh.. excuse me, sorry! Mornin', everyone!" Did she greet those of her housemates who were at the table, having breakfast, as well as the people she met and nearly didn't manage to avoid bumping to, on her way to the table. She flashed them her famous, innocent Channing grin, probably as a not really intended compensation for having disturbed their morning routine.

She wasn't planning to spend much time there anyway, there was a lesson, after all, which she had to get to in less then five minutes. Lucy thus stopped by only to grab a bun and a banana, then considered turning around and leaving, but something on the table caught her eye. It was the pot with a drink, which she needed right then. When having realized she was thirsty, she wondered if it was normal, after some eight hours of sleep, or if she, by any chance, was an extraordinary example.

"Sorry to disturb but... aren't you, by any chance, thirsty?" Asked the girl the person who was sitting between her and the pot with cocoa, which she reached for, to pour it into a glass. She hadn't really sat down.

Ruby woke up early at 6:21 AM, a few minutes before breakfast at the Great Hall. Erendriel Ravaxidor, Odette Leone, Jade O’Reilly, and a girl whose name was unknown to Ruby were still sleeping, but Ruby had a hunch that at least one or two of them were lying down with their eyes open but had their backs turned to Ruby. She decided to slowly walk out the door and quickly go to the common room.

Should I wait for six thirty?

Ruby sat and read until 6:30 AM. Her heart leapt. She hurried out into the castle, and saw that some other students were going out also. Ruby ran, and nearly bumped into a Gryffindor 4th year.

Ruby then scampered over to the Ravenclaw table and took a seat. It was in between Lucy Channing and Erendriel Ravaxidor. She looked interestedly at the two girls at either side of her and decided to dig in into cornflakes.

She was feeling somehow cheerful. It was a new day and there was NOTHING to lose. She could do multiple stuff today. Maybe even casually sit in the Quidditch stadium writing and pretend that there WAS a Quidditch match. And maybe even sneak a peek at the Forbidden Forest.

Or meet a house-elf in the kitchens. Maybe to endorse S.P.E.W. She was a member of it now, but somehow forgotten it. I’ll apologize to Elisa Wagner, she thought guiltily.

One of the good things about Ruby is that she was lighthearted and easy to amuse. One of the boys in her Muggle school often showed her simple “magic” tricks and some trending dance steps to amuse her.

Ruby was also quick to make friends. She already had made friends with 8 people, 6 from Ravenclaw and 2 from Slytherin.

Good morning!” she said a bit loudly with a bit of a forced smile.

Armia kinda stumbled into a seat at the Ravenclaw table, nearly bumping elbows with the kid next to him. “Sorry,” he mumbled, already reaching for the pumpkin juice. The hall was loud—like really loud. People everywhere were talking, laughing, clapping. He couldn’t tell if it was chaos or magic. Maybe both.

He glanced around, not sure where to look. “I’m Armia,” he said, not very loud, to the boy beside him who was already stacking his plate with sausages. The boy gave a quick nod and pushed a basket of bread his way. Armia grabbed one (okay, two), ripped off a chunk and shoved it into his mouth before realizing he forgot to butter it.

“Do the stairs actually move?” he asked, a bit too eager maybe. “And... like, how big is the library anyway?”

The girl across the table looked up from her plate and grinned. “Yeah, the stairs are wild. Took me to the wrong floor twice last year.” She paused. “And the library’s huge. Smells like old parchment and dust. It’s great.”

Armia lit up. He quickly dug into his bag and pulled out his notebook and quill. “I gotta write this stuff down,” he said through half a mouthful of potato. His handwriting was crooked and he got gravy on the page, but he didn’t care.

This place was weird, loud, kinda messy—and perfect.
