─────It was a rather chilly November day. Red, orange, and yellow leaves danced with the wind. It was the perfect day to destroy pumpkins, because it turns out that breaking pumpkins is a good way to deal with stress. Or it's at least better than laying in bed, staring at the ceiling, and wondering if you should just give up magic and live as an artist in Greece (an idea Alex had been entertaining for a while).
The whole pumpkin smashing event had been set up by her friend, Cass, so she would've gone even if it was just organizing books in the library. Especially if it was organizing books in the library.
As Alex walked down to the ground from the castle she spotted a familiar face sitting under a tree near the Great Lake. "Aston!" She ran up to where he was sat beneath the tree. "Well? Get up loser, we're smashing pumpkins!" she told him before grabbing his arm and pulling him up onto his feet. "C'mon then," she said before dragging him in the direction of the pumpkin massacre before he could argue.
Alex waved to Cass when the pair got to where the pumpkins were being murdered. She picked up two hammers and handed one to Aston. "Do you wanna set the pumpkins up somewhere and just chuck the hammers at them?" She asked her friend a little too excitedly. The girl had been needing a bit of an outlet for her emotions for a while, and escaping into books just wasn't working anymore.
Life had been a bit stressful for Alex since she got back to Hogwarts. For most of the first two months she'd been back, her and her crush dear friend, Prat hadn't been speaking to each other. They had gotten things figured out, or at least she thought they did. But they were talking again so it was fine. Then she got the letter. The letter had taken the world as she knew it, put it in a jar, shaken it, and then dumped it out onto the floor. Her father had sent her a letter one September morning saying that there was no reason for her to return home during her holiday breaks since her grandparents would be in Greece for most of the rest of her school year. It meant her parents didn't want to see her. That they didn't care. She was their child, but did they even see her as that?
She shook her head to clear her thoughts and grabbed two pumpkins and set them against a tree. "So the one on the right is mine and yours is on the left," Alex said as she pointed and each pumpkin. "I'll let you throw first, but if you hit my pumpkin, you're getting the guts of it thrown at you,"" she threatened with a semi-serious glare.

Pumpkin Destruction Day
Date : November 10th, 2024 Color code : Written|Thought|Said Sere had some really tough days lately. Starting from the duelling things: preparation to post duel recovery, then catching up on all her study she had left behind because her focus shifted to the duel for a while, as well as doing her homeworks. On this Sunday, Sere decided to do something else instead of her routine exercise. She was wearing a red turtle neck and dark-brown leather pants, moving down from her house to the Grounds. Her wand was in her hand. Today, almost two weeks after the Halloween festivities, an interesting event to destroy pumpkins was held by one of the Prefects who was also the committee of the Fall Ball.
This event will be perfect as my stress relieve. I could destroy everything -all the pumpkins- as much as I want, without breaking any school rules. Sere felt thrilled and excited at the same time. It's peaking as her feet actually stepped on the Grounds. The Gryffindor girl could see piles of pumpkins waiting to be destroyed and several hammers beside the pumpkins. One or two people seemed to be arrived before her.
"Huh? Hammers? Do we have to use hammers?" Sere didn't understand. Her goal here was to destroy pumpkins in magic way. "Let's just use my own way instead." The girl was too embarrassed to look brutal by using the hammer provided by the prefect. Besides, she thinks that a heavy hammer has more potential to physically hurt others and Sere didn't want that to happen.
"Wingardium Leviosa." Sere lifted the heavy pumpkin with a levitating charm and placed it a few distance in front of her, and some distance to other students so that her next spells have no potential to hurt others. The girl then took a breath and exhaled before aiming at the pumpkin in front of her, "Incendio!" The pumpkin seemed to burn with magical fire, but only for a moment because after that Sere immediately shouted, "Extinguo!" and a few seconds later destroyed the ill-fated fruit with a Knockback Jinx, "Flipendo!" The pumpkin was thrown far away and shattered into pieces.
Sere tried to catch her breath. She had never cast this many spells at one time outside of the Duelling Club. Feels so amazing! The satisfaction made her formed a wide smile. "Alright! Let's do this again!"
The British-Korean girl repeated what she had done earlier several times, with different spell variations. She casted all the spells she knew on the poor pumpkins, let out all of her negative feelings. "I'm done! Gosh, that was so refreshing." Sere took another deep breath, inhaling the fresh autumn breeze passed through her face. Her mind is fresher now and she definitely could return to her daily activities in a better mood.Interacting with : -

Pumpkin Destruction Day
Novalie’s gaze locked onto Oliver, noticing the subtle upward curve of his lips.
He’d smiled, if only for a split second! Her eyes lit up in response - Oliver’s smiles were rare treasures and in that very moment, all she wanted was to coax out more.
Before the girl could offer more compliments to draw out another grin, a familiar voice called out beside her.
“Eric!”, she exclaimed, beaming at her other best friend, “You’re here! Oh - and you’ve got yourself the earmuffs too?”
Returning to the topic with a giggle, Novalie glanced back at Oliver,
“I told Eric I was saving up to buy them, too, and he just went ahead and got them like it was nothing! He’s, like, super rich, Ollie! Did you know?”
To Novalie, the earmuffs had cost a fortune!
With a playful poke to Eric’s cheek, she added, “I bet if he wanted to, he could even afford caviar! Isn’t that sick?”
Instead of diving back into trying smashing pumpkins, Novalie found joy in watching her friends. The Ravenclaw marveled at how different their strengths were. Oliver, who’d long since earned the title of her personal protector - a promise he’d, in her eyes, made during their secretive nighttime escapade around the castle - demonstrated his impressive power with every swing.
“Wow…”, she whispered, wide-eyed, as the blonde boy effortlessly obliterated another pumpkin. She then turned to Eric and chuckled at his attempts, stating bluntly, “You’re just as weak as I am, haha!”
Soon, a familiar shout caught her attention, 'Vanilla Ice!'
Novalie twirled around as though she had fully embraced the nickname. Aodhan, hammer and a pumpkin in his hands, stood grinning at them.
“Oh, hi Ice Lord!”, she called out, waving back with a bright smile. But instead of joining them, Aodhan launched his pumpkin in their direction.
Most people, at least those with common sense, would have tried to dodge or, if daring enough, taken a swing at it mid-air like trying to hit a baseball with a bat. Not so Novalie.
The girl watched its arc with wide eyes, suddenly stretching out her hands just as it came barreling down- “Woah!!”
The pumpkin’s weight surprisingly caught her off guard, knocking her to the ground with a thud.
“Owowow…”, Novalie sat up slowly, eyes falling to her hand.
One of her fingers was bent at an odd angle. A sight she was regrettably familiar with.
It wasn’t the first time something like this had happened, especially back home, but it still hurt bad. Fighting back tears, she held up her hand to show Eric and Oliver, her voice wavering,
“I broke my finger again.”

Once he was done with destroying his pumpkin, he removed a container and carefully scooped the goop into it and closed the lid again. Glancing around, Kim watched as other students did the same thing as him, hammering away at their pumpkins. Some didn't make goop splatter. Others hit their table instead. But some actually were effective in hammering their pumpkin. It was interesting to see how everyone handled their pumpkins. Once some of them left, Kim went over and grabbed the useable goop and stored it inside his container. This was actually working out pretty well. He'd get a nice amount of ingredients for pumpkin themed desserts, snacks and appetizers by the time the errand was done. Deciding to hammer some more pumpkins on his own, Kim got to work again. After demolishing a few more pumpkins and getting some goop on his hands, arms and face too, he happily packed more orange goop into his containers. This was a really fun errand, one of the best of the year for him that was for certain.

Pumpkin Destruction Day
Avis arrived at the scene of the pumpkin murders with an excited flutter in her chest. Not only would she finally be able to gain back a few chocolate frog cards from this particular errand, she would get to take a bit of her anger out on an unsuspecting gourd, all while doing it with her favorite adventure pal. She scanned the crowd of students going at their pumpkins with hammers and poorly hidden glee and caught a few familiar faces in her line of sight. The suspected lycanthrope @Oliver Thorn with his usual wardrobe of mismatched buttons and a haphazardly thrown on robe, hammered away at a pumpkin on the far side of the group, juice and seeds spattered all over his trousers and the kind older student @Kim Sato who had helped her clean up her unfortunate mess during the last errand she'd participated in, was scooping pumpkin goop up off the ground in a large container. She watched him curiously for a moment before Maisie finally caught her eye and she headed off in her dorm mate's direction with a smile.
Maisie was reluctantly smashing up a pumpkin in front of her, wincing at every strike of her hammer and Avis chuckled to herself as she finally hit the table with a resounding thump. It seemed her fellow Ravenclaw was only here for the reward.
"C'mon Maisie. At least make it look like you're enjoying yourself a bit," Avis chided in a humorous tone, selecting a pumpkin of her own and picking up her weapon of choice (the same hammer everyone else was using). She grinned as she set the doomed squash down on the table and raised her hammer above her head, bringing it down in a swift motion. The pumpkin splattered in a satisfying way and Avis' grin only grew larger. She supposed she looked a bit evil at the moment, but truthfully, Avis quite enjoyed this freeing moment of pure destruction. Perhaps that was slightly unhealthy? The girl shrugged to herself and turned to her friend. "There. Like that!" she laughed, swinging the hammer in a circle like a play thing, flinging more pumpkin guts every which way. She stopped swinging as she realized the guts might find their way onto another student's robes and glanced around sheepishly, hoping she would not see anyone covered in orange goo.

| xxx | 𝓝early two weeks had passed since All Hallow's Eve--a rather lengthy time to allow to pass without dealing with residual decorations of the celebration. In the muggle world, pumpkins would have been long gone by now, especially back home. Any gourds that had survived victimization by naughty children for fire cracker destruction would now be hardly recognizable, most discarded to some field or the side of the road, rotted through by rain and time or eaten by various pests and wild animals. The idea of having a day of generalized mayhem in mid-November was, frankly, quite foreign, even six years into her Hogwarts tenure. By now, they would generally have just been vanished--or whatever it was that the castle House Elves or staff did with them. Not that the sixth year really minded. While the rule limiting the use of magic outside of classrooms and extra-curriculars was fairly easy to bend, that only extended to magic that could be cast with relative subtlety. It was difficult to dismiss an activity that would allow the side-stepping of such a limitation. Or so she assumed, anyway. The grounds had been prepared with a series of tables laden with pumpkins. Next to them had been laid hammers. These were whole-heartedly ignored. For the life of her, Evelynn could not understand the odd fixation of using mundane methods of accomplishing tasks when they were in attendance at a school of magic in a world that revolved around its use. Perhaps it was some novelty for the purebloods and wizardborns around them, but to her, it seemed a waste of perfectly reasonable opportunities to practice what they'd learned. No, it wouldn't be a hammer that the Gryffindor took to hand, but rather her wand. She wouldn't even carry the pumpkins to her desired location either, instead using a combination of floating and direction spells to maneuver them effortlessly through the air to an open area away from nearby students. A quietly uttered colour-changing spell would be cast to draw lines upon the ground as added precaution to prevent wayward wanderings of her peers into what would ultimately become something of a shooting range. Accuracy would forever be one of the focuses of Evelynn's self-improvement. Duelling matches limited this practice in the way that the platforms only allowed teams to be so far apart. The real world loomed ever nearer on the horizon, however, and while the NEWT student wasn't yet certain as to what direction her career would take, she could never shake the feeling that it would require finesse and long-distance surveillance. If she could improve her ability to hit a target from a distance, it would only make her that much more effective and increase her chances of survival. So that was what she would do. In one hand, she carried a collection of tiny metal BBs. A flick of her thumb would send a pellet into the air in front of her, followed swiftly by, "Waddiwasi!" Their lesson in Astronomy may have used a demonstration of firing a wad of gum to stick harmlessly onto a target, but Evelynn had found that the use of smaller, denser items could emulate the firing of a bullet. The pellet shot forward, zipping silently through the air towards its target before striking a hole clean through its side. Hunkering down, she started at ten paces from the pumpkins, then moved to fifteen, twenty, twenty-five. By the time she was satisfied, her pumpkins had been riddled through like pin-cushions, their final destruction left to be completed by someone else. 𝚠𝚘𝚛𝚍 𝚌𝚘𝚞𝚗𝚝 𝟻𝟿𝟸 |

424ish/400|destroying pumpkins??
𝒥deally, Brookline wondered why she signed up for this. She’d seen an new errand on the billboard, and wondered if she thought she should do this. Destroying pumkins, for a errand though? Didn’t seem like a bad idea, Hogwarts had used a lot of the pumpkins earlier on in the year. So destroying them now? Let’s do this.
As Brookline made her way to the grounds, her hair was up in two pigtails each braided into a Dutch-braid. Her Dutch braids swinging side by side she watched the students in the errand. People were destroying the orange fruit with hammers and.. other things.. Her friend, @Sere Nade was destroying the pumpkins by magic. The kind Gryffindor was Flipendoing and Extingoing -- so basically destroying it. Ohhh, she’s practicing for her duels! How could I so stupid? Attagirl, Sere! She was proud of Sere, the Gryffindor girl was always so confident and determined on whether task she was doing, big or small.
Picking up a hammer, Brookline glanced around one more time. Maybe she didn’t want to do this. It sounded... harsh and she could hurt herself doing it; or others, and... don’t you’d think thatvwoukd be bad? It would be quite bad. But her recklessness and rebellion overpowered that voice in the back of her head, squashing like she was about she do this poor pumpkin.
“Lets go! Squash that fruit!” Laughing, the Welsh Ravenclaw brought the hammer behind her, in a squaring position, and swung the hammer with all her might onto the little pumpkin. That was fun! Now onto the even more fun part. Magic! She grabbed her wand and cried, “Diffindo! and sliced the squashed pumpkin into two.
Grinning, Brookline left that defeated pumpkin alone, and went up to a much larger one. She grabbed the hammer, and brought in down, right on the pumpkin’s dark green stem. The stem cracked, as the pumpkin tumbled down in a heap, squashed by the hammer, in the girl’s hands. Beating it once more, Brookline hit the pumpkin over and over over until she sat the hammer down, and threw the pumpkin aside so she could work on a new pumkum, destroying it quicker and quicker.
After thoroughly squishing and squashing more than four pumpkins, Brookline decided to leave those that were left around for the others who may come in late. She put the hammer back where it was, looking at the pumpkin mess she created. It was all seeds and pulp. Scooping it up, she went to the nearest rubbish bin.

Interacting with @ Date - 8/11/24 WC 513/400 Color Legend - Mylo | Thoughts It had been a good day so far, Mylo had been able to get quite a lot of their homework that they still had to finish done after they had finished with their classes. It hadn't been too much but they'd rather stay on top of it than let it slide and have piles of homework to do right before deadlines. That would be way too stressful and Mylo didn't want that.
As it was pretty good weather Mylo decided to go for a walk before having tea, so putting on their favourite jumper, a green jumper with flowers over it, they headed out to the grounds.
Before they could get very far though Mylo saw a few students gathered around some pumpkins, and before they could even start to think about what was going on they were being smashed to pieces. Some with more force than others but smashed none the less.
Wondering what was going on Mylo decided to go and take a look. Walking over to the pumpkins they saw a sign, stating that the pumpkins and only the pumpkins were to be smashed, which seemed a like a logical rule that didn't need to be stated, but unfortunately Mylo knew better and had seen examples of what happened when students wanted to destroy things. They certainly didn't hold back.
They thought a while on where or not they wanted to participate, as it seemed like most of the students were enjoying themselves. But they didn't really want to get their clothes dirty and covered in smashed pumpkin. But the longer he thought on it, the more he managed to convince himself. They had magic now, dirty clothes weren't exactly a problem, and pumpkin didn't stain so that wasn't something they'd have to worry about.
Having successfully convinced themselves Mylo went up and grabbed a hammer, wondering what pumpkin would be the best to do. Looking around he saw a lone pumpkin, not stacked on top of another one like a few of the other they could see, and not already being attacked by one of the other students who also were smashing into them.
Walking over to it he thought about the best way to go about this, and decided that just going for it would be the best option. So slowly raising the hammer above their head they let it come down on the pumpkin, immediately seeing cracks begin to form. He hadn't hit it very hard so it didn't go everywhere like he though it would have. But it still cracked. So going again they decided to keep hitting it with the same force, not wanting it to go everywhere but still hitting it either way.
Once the pumpkin had cracked all the way through and smashed into multiple pieces Mylo thought that it was enough. He knew that some people really enjoyed doing things like this, smashing objects to pieces, but they didn't really get it. It was fun for once but he wasn't sure it was something they'd really be repeating in the near future.
