It's the day before the fall ball and lunch had just ended for the day. Mateo left the Great Hall, and quickly walked up the grand staircase trying to get away from Tracey. Mateo wanted to explore more and he hadn't got a chance to explore the Abandoned Toilets yet.
Two days before, Mateo had somehow gotten lost in the Dungeons of this very school. He was pretty confident that he knew his way around Hogwarts, but he clearly didn't. But at least a kind enough Gryffindor boy had led Mateo back to a familiar era of Hogwarts.
Upon finally arriving on the second floor, he walked down the corridor and passed by various rooms which he made note to investigate later. But he didn't stop at any room, until he got to the abandoned toilets. Mateo looked around him to make sure no one was there before he entered the abandoned toilets.
He opened the door slowly and regretted it right away. The door, though it opened slowly, made a loud noise. Mateo looked around again, before entering the bathroom and closing the door behind him.
He looked around the bathroom and couldn't help but wonder why was this bathroom abandoned? Sure it was hella dirty, but it was still decent. Mateo was about to look around, until he heard the door opened and slowly turned around to see Tracey.
Mateo had been caught, and he knew it, by his childhood best friend, but before he could say anything to her, another girl had entered the bathroom, and Mateo had no idea who she was.
Second half is in Tracey's P.O.V.
By the time Tracey was done with her lunch and looked up, Mateo was already gone. Tracey was quiet confused. She had no idea where her childhood friend had gone, but figuring with what had happened two days ago, Tracey should go and find Mateo.
After she was full, she got up and left the Ravenclaw table and left the Great Hall. She went up the grandstaircase and decided to check to second floor since he wouldn't be on the first floor.
Once she was on the second floor, she looked into each and every room trying to find the Japanese boy, but she couldn't find him anywhere and soon there was only one room left for her to check and see if he's in there.
She really didn't want to go into the adandoned bathroom, but since he was in no other room on the second floor, he had to have been in this very room. She slowly opened the door and peeked her head in before she entered the bathroom fully. She saw Mateo and she knew he was about to say something, but then a girl had entered the bathroom and Tracey was sure she had seen her before, probably in the common room.
Since Tracey didn't want to stay in the adandoned toilets, she left the bathroom since she knew where Mateo was, so she decided to wander around the halls until she knew where she wanted to go.
Tracey has left the thread

Mystery
Avis left lunch-her rating for the day, meh. It had been an okay lunch. Enough to fill her up without enjoyment, nor dislike- and headed to her next class. She walked up the grand staircase and headed quickly down the hall, her cloak waving behind her. This whole day was meh. No exciting classes, no boring classes. Ah such, she was in that mood. The one where you just sort of go through the motions of your day, and forget about it the next day.
That is, until she heard a loud creak from in a doorway she hadn't explored yet. Peaking in, it looked to be a dirty bathroom. Avis wouldn't have gone in and risked whatever bacteria might be lurking if it wasn't for the complete monotony of the day. As it was, this was unfortunately the most exciting that was bound to happen, so she slipped in, pulling the door closed behind her, and quickly wiping her hand off.
There was one kid in there, younger, second or third year if Avis would have to guess. He didn't have the telltale sign of naivety Avis had come to associate with first years, and he was much to young to be higher than third.
"Have you really nothing better to do then traipse around in what must be the dirtiest part of the school?" She said this with a smidge of arrogance, though she understood it was completely unjustifiable, as she was also in the bathroom, though she stood in the center of the room, careful not to get her cloak dirty. It wasn't that she was afraid of dirty things, she had plenty of times gotten covered in muck and mud, but she couldn't bare to get a stain on her clothes and have to go through the rest of the day like that, after all, what would people think?

A few minutes after the younger girl had walked into the bathroom, Mateo noticed that Tracey had left, probably because of the fact that she now knows where he is. Mateo didn't feel like leaving the bathroom yet, so, even tho someone else is in the bathroom, Mateo began to loom around. He started with the area nearest to the door, so if the girl ever spoke, he would be able to hear her.
As he was searching around, Mateo actually wasn't sure what he was looking for. He basically wanted to know why this bathroom is abandoned even tho it's pretty decent. Unless there's a reason for why it's abandoned, like as if something bad had happened here in this very bathroom, but nothing came to Mateo's mind, so he shrugged that idea off.
As Mateo was about to think of another reason for why the bathroom is abandoned, the girl had spoke. Mateo had honestly forgotten that the girl was there, but he turned his attention to her before he answered her question by saying,
"Uh, I've never been here before. This is my second time at Hogwarts and I haven't seen everything yet. I'm Mateo by the way, Mateo Yamamoto, I'm from Mahoutokoro,"

Mystery
Avis gave him a quick nod. "Avis. Aye-vis. I had a kid the other day say Ahh-vis. I'm not sure if they know how English works." She did not offer him a smile. In her opinion, a false smile was worse than a glare. It was patronizing. Unless there was a valid purpose to it.
So she stood in the center of the room, observing as Mateo looked around the sinks. She smirked a little, as he seemed to be looking for something in particular. "I'm not sure you'll find anything in the bathroom, in my experience, there's only one real reason for a bathroom and hiding things isn't it." Maybe at your school lavatories are basically safes, but I haven't found that to be the case. She didn't say the last part, it seemed to be just a bit too far. "If you're looking for water, however, there are many options. Assuming this plumbing still works." That might have been a fifty-fifty shot in this dilapidated room. Apparently all the students in this school-as well as whomever cleaned this place-decided to boycott the place.
It was strangely suspicious, she had to admit. Maybe something really was hiding behind those old sinks the boy was looking around.

After looking around, Mateo then moved over to the sinks and began looking at each and every single one of them, and he also tried to water to see if it works or not, and the plumbing does indeed work, which adds onto Mateo's question for why this perfectly usable bathroom is abandoned. As he was looking around the sinks, he heard the girl introduce herself. Mateo looked at her before he said,
"Nice to meet you, Avis. If I ever to mispronounce your name, tho I don't believe I did today, it'll most likely be because I'm a foreigner, and because English is my third language,"
Mateo's parents don't have the same mother tongue. His mothers native language is Spanish, while his fathers is Japanese. And since Mateo was born and raised in Japan, he learned Japanese first before learning Spanish at the age of 5 and when he was 8, he learned English.
Before Mateo could go back to looking at the sinks, he heard Avis speak again. Once again he listened before saying,
"Ah, guess your right, but who knows, maybe there's something here for the reason why it's abandoned. Oh, and no, i'm not looking for water. I already get enough of that and i'm not thirsty. I also won't come to a bathroom for water,"

Mystery
"Potentially, but in that case they still wouldn't know how English works now would they?" Avis shrugged and then rolled her eyes as Mateo mentioned that the bathroom was abandoned for a reason.
"No doubt. In my experience, at least, things do generally happen for a reason." She shrugged again. Why could this place be abandoned? Avis saw no good reason for it, so long as the plumbing in this dilapidated room worked it could still function as a perfectly good bathroom for students.
She tried to sink, to see if the plumbing still worked, and smiled as all but one did. It seemed like a perfectly fine bathroom to her, if not in need of a bit of cleaning. She frowned as she wiped her dirty had on her robe, and it deepened as she saw the brown mark it made on her robe. That could need to be cleaned. It only took one stain to turn someone from neat to dirty.
She stood there for a minute more as Mateo looked around a bit more. Her fingers began to tap on her thigh as her mood switched from interest to boredom. There weren't any secrets in this bathroom, it was just a bit messy.
"Well, I've got to get to class, I suppose I'll see you around?" Unless she was stopped for some reason, Avis would exit, and continue on her way.

@Tracey BaileyIf you've got some sort of plotline you were hoping to happen, you are welcome to continue that, and Avis will stay out of interest, but otherwise there isn't much for her to do and she will be leaving the thread.

"Geez Avis, learning another language is hard ok, and people's names can be tricky to pronounce. All the damn plumbing works, but yet it's still abandoned. Honestly, if there's no history on why this bathroom is abandoned, then they should still use it," Mateo snaps at what Avis had said.
Usually Mateo doesn't snap at anyone, but something about Avis made him do so, and he didn't care if he hurt her feelings or not. Mateo was honestly looking forward to having Avis be one of his friends, but honestly, he now doesn't care.
Mateo moved away from the sinks since he had decided to move on, so he went over to the stalls to see if anyone had left anything behind, but no one has. While he was looking around, he heard Avis say she was going to leave, and Mateo didn't even say bye.
After hearing the door open and close, Mateo waited a bit before he decided to leave the bathroom as well. He opened the door and looked around to make sure that no one's around.
After making sure the coast is clear, Mateo left the bathroom and continued roaming around the halls of Hogwarts until he met up with his childhood friend again, and decided to spend the rest of the day with her.
