Intense, overtaking.

Sandy was never one to be daunted by new experiences, ever the energetic girl. She took at things with a constant positive outlook, fear a thought to be had in the late future. Her family was always there with her, no matter how rude their joking comments might have been. It was soothing, a common knowledge that there was always someone around her.

Hogwarts didn't have that. It had people, yes, but they were nothing like her family. They were new, a constant debilitating challenge to meet and greet every two seconds with the same enthusiasm over and over - Really, it got old. It was like a new trial every time, learning how to perfectly alter herself in the slightest to interact positively.

Distantly, her brother's gruff snort of laughter sounded in her head. People pleaser, he'd say. Unfortunately for him and his sour lemon of an attitude, he wasn't here! Sandy was here, and she'd make the most of her mildly pitiful outlook on meeting new people!

Truthfully, she wasn't sure why she was upset. Everything was the same, in some crooked way. Everyone was human, walked and talked and breathed, so why did it feel off? Why, in such a painfully odd way, did she feel like she wasn't meant to be around? There were so many things to fit in with, oddities that she couldn't fathom, pretty people to remember, and yet none of them caught her eye. None of them made her think that this was the reason to be here.

She was just lost. Dazed and confused!

Trudging along the stone pathways, feeling the empty crackling underneath her shoes, Sandy couldn't help but question further. Did everyone feel this way? Sandy knew she wasn't that different. There were people just like her, but she just... Hadn't quite found them, yet. That was all, surely. It all took time, her mother would say. Her mother was always so much more levelheaded, it was amazing. Now, she wasn't particularly emotional, per say, but she-

-Was getting off course. Physically, and mentally. Redirecting her feet with a skidded motion, just before walking directly into a segment of stone, Sandy let out a huff. Rough hands prodded at her face, fingers digging underneath her glasses. The metallic frame rubbed against her knuckles, cold and unforgiving against the burning hot skin. She was too stressed out over nothing, overheating from the emotions.

(A comment of her overreacting rang in her ears, shaking away the damning sound of that boy's nasally tone. He wasn't here, he'd never be here. His mean words didn't matter here.)

A deep breath in, followed by a quick exhale grounded her. Living in the present was always for the best, in her opinion! There was nothing better to do, even when you could be contemplating whether you're 'worthy' enough to be allowed in such a fancy place. Sandy would never admit it to her family, but she almost felt smaller than usual in Hogwarts. Like she was an ant, compared to a human's shoe. Large, looming. Maybe that's why she liked the outdoors so much. There was nothing to loom over her that she couldn't just run from. No tall buildings, sharp peaks, mean words, nasally tones and high-pitched voices. She could run from anything she pleased, and she would. Who would stop her, after all?

Off course, again. Sandy prodded once more at her face before dropping her hands, feeling her glasses droop against the tip of her nose, dangerously dangling near a game of whether they'd slip off or not. She took one more breath, feeling the sting of lightly cooling air against her throat before setting off on a walking spree once more. How many times had she taken a lap around this courtyard? How many times would she do it again?

The answer was none further. Eyes still adjusting to the light once more, they had faltered in examining where her next step would be placed. Suddenly, the ground had met her in a very personal interview, one namely with her face. A contrast spread against her skin, the warmth of blood rushing and stinging the newly formed scratches versus the cool of the natural rocky terrain. Her hands tensed momentarily, curling lightly against the cold and releasing a gentle hiss from her throat as a painful, almost static-like feeling formed throughout.

"Fancy- Meeting you here." Sandy whimpered, a faint giggle hidden beneath the muffled, quiet words, "I don't actually, ehm, fancy it, but... Y'know... It really hurt..."

Going insane once more. How original.

Monday, They, like every other day. Were fine. He went to classes, he ate food. He got through the day. And that was that. It was supposed to be at least. He was meant to just relax a bit in the courtyard. Spend a bit of time watching the students of Hogwarts. Some chatted with there friends, some like him just choose to sit and take it all in, and there were the few students who had decided to fall asleep. How they could do that outdoors was something he wouldn't understand. Sleeping anywhere but inside on a bed or couch was absurd to him.

Then, he heard something that might have been even more stupid. Someone fell, stupid enough, but they were talking to the floor.... He looked to see who it was, and. Well. He didn't know why he should have been surprised. Her name was Sandy. And she was in the wrong house. Oliver knew it, she was- soft. Something like that, she should have been Hufflepuff. That was what he thought, the hat seemed to have put a lot of people in the wrong houses that year. Himself included. Yet, this wasn't really about him.

Sandy, was a Gryffindor. He took that like a personal slap to the face. She of all people was a Gryffindor, when he was right there. In the same year as her. Her soft spoken nature wasn't the only reason he hated her. But she was very, very clearly Muggle-Born. A Soft Muggle born was in Gryffindor. What. The. Hell. He was not shy about telling these feelings either. Having already told her before how if she had to be in Hogwarts. She should have been Hufflepuff.

Ok- he should clarify, he didn't hate Muggle-Borns. It was just pity, more so. As it was a fact (it was not, just prejudiced thinking) that they couldn't cast spells as well. And they clearly put a damper on everyone else's learning. With how much they asked questions instead of answering them in class. Oliver thought they should have some sort of crash course before coming to Hogwarts so they didn't get shocked about potion making, or flying brooms.

In this girl's case, she smead to think floors could talk like the paintings. "Floors don't talk." He told her bluntly standing up to just stand over her. Not offering to help her stand up. Because did she really think the floor talked? If so, she did not deserve his help. "Your blood status is really showing." He told her with an eye roll. Now, to anyone else it might not be a bad thing. But Oliver felt they should at least try to hide how ignorant they were. It really made him pittful. "You could at least try to act like you know what your doing."

Why did people just have to barge into her fun-time? Was this a requirement?

"I don't think floors actually talk..." She mumbled, pushing herself off the floor and onto her knees, "It was just harmless fun. Do you think people actually talk to floors? Expecting them to respond? I mean... I'm sure people like that exist, but..."

With a sigh, Sandy redirected her attention. It was useless to be upset over - whoever this was - making rude comments. She had spent years of her life listening to things like that, this wasn't any different. Her eyes shifted up, staring at the boy who stood above her with a displeased frown etched against her mouth, fingers fixing her glasses and repositioning them to their correct space. They were crooked once more, likely from the impact, but she'd just... Bend them back into place, like she had been doing for years now.

Forcing herself to look away, she listened on as he drawled about blood status(?), pretending that she knew even the slightest bit about what he was yammering on with. Useless stuff, probably, but her ears still caught the tone. No matter how hard she tried to ignore it, a deep pang in her chest still reminded her that he was talking, and was very much judging her.

For someone who had heard stuff like this for so long, it should've been second nature. None of it was her fault, she knew that, but she had to question if it really was. What if she was at fault for all the comments? Did she really deserve to even be here, if this was gonna be the reaction?

...

Who was she kidding? Of course she did! Some stuck-up loser didn't get the right to tell her what to do, what she should be.

A final huff raised her off the ground, brushing grime off her knees and staring down at her now reddened skin. The boy, whoever he was, continued, biting at each individual nerve. It was constant, ringing through her ears, deafening any hint of control she could possibly muster up. How was she expected to listen if he just wouldn't shut up? Did he usually find this tactic to work?

Her hand tensed into something awkward, a fist, even if she didn't quite know how to position her hand. With a quick movement, she turned, throwing her arm with about as much force as her small body could muster. The moment her fist connected with his face - Somewhere around his nose? She wasn't sure. Boney, that's all she knew - A deep searing pain tore through her hand. A crack, and she tore her hand away from him, staring down at it with something of mild shocked. Never once did she look up at him throughout the entire action, instead watching her pinky finger carefully. Crooked, bent at an angle that almost prodded her ring finger.

Oh, she was fucked.

Oliver had in fact thought people talked to floors, he was looking at one person that clearly did right now. He would not be surprised at all if lots of muggle borns thought floor talks. He kept talking about this, because of course, his big mouth would get him trouble one of these days. "Honestly, I don't understand how you of all muggle borns got into Hogwarts." There were still lots of annoying ones, but Sandy just seamed to leave them all behind, along with her brain cells.

He didn't pay attention to her getting up, or when she balled her fist, or when said fist started to get closer to his face. Only when it made contact did he seam to notice that she moved at all. "SON OF A BITCH!" He shouted out holding his hand up to his now bleeding nose. Clenching his jaw to stop himself from shouting anything more, and perhaps shouting out in pain to. This girl just- most likely broke his nose.

How? She was so tiny. Oliver sent an angry glare to her, Ha! Her finger looked broken. Karma at it's finest. It wasn't good enough for Oliver. "You- You hit me!" He was pissed, shocked, and pissed of some more. No one hit him, very few even talked down on him. Never hit. He kept one hand on his nose to keep some of the bleeding at bay, and he was sure it did not look good. Swollen, and bleeding to.

Fuck. This. Girl. "You- Mudblood!" Normally he avoided use of that, he didn't really like it. But here? Oh yeah, it was needed. She hit him! It of course was only fair that he returned the favor right? So, palm flat, with the hand not holding his nose. He brought it back and hit Sandy across her cheek. Not holding a lot back, hell, her glasses even fell off her face, landing on the cobblestone of the courtyard. With the lenses breaking.

Far too focused on the damning, pulsing pain of her finger, Sandy hardly took note of his words. Swears, insults, all commonplace in her family, but they were never out of anger. Words for after a board game, for when there'd be a squabble between her aunts and uncles, to hear from her brother's room after he jabbed himself with one of his pins. Those kids, however mean and scary they appeared to her, never outright swore. They'd jab, make appearances of sweetness, but never swear.

Looking up to stare at him through blurred vision, tears distracting her from correctly seeing, she could see the scarlet that ran down his face, slipping through the cracks of his fingers. It was so -

- Intimidating. For once, Sandy didn't feel lightly irritated by the blood. It was so normal to her, for it to be bubbling on the surface of her knees or to run along her palms. For it to be inflicted by her, such a painful act... She didn't know how to feel. Good, mostly. Knowing that he was finally silent for once in his life pleased her in just the slightest, but she couldn't help the pang of guilt that infiltrated her. Perhaps she could've pleaded with him, begged to treat her like a normal person rather than someone to look down upon, made something of a deal.

But why would she do that? He didn't deserve her pleas, he didn't deserve anything. The thrown insults, the mudblood name, why would he deserve calm? Why would she have to be the bigger person, when he obviously knew what he was doing? She'd offer him the benefit of the doubt, pretend that he was raised wrong, but not right now. Another time, perhaps, when he was away from her and she could talk and mourn her violent ways. For now, though, she felt nothing but agitation.

Clutching her pinky finger between her other hand, biting the inside of her cheek as to not feel the sheer pain of holding it, she forced it to stay in place. Light pressure, she thought, that'd make it click back in, right? Not be as bent as it is now?

Of course, her thoughts didn't last long. The firm slap to her face caught her off guard, releasing her pinky as she stumbled to the side and felt a metallic taste infiltrate her mouth. Her glasses hit the ground, and through her already blurred, and now blinded vision, she could make out where the frame had landed. She had half a mind to pick them up, yell at him, call him any mean name she could think of, but she didn't. Instead, forcing her fist closed again despite the pain that still screamed at her, she threw another punch.

This time, it landed somewhere far more boney, firm against his cheekbone. The impact bounced back through her arm, forcing it back momentarily as she regained sights on the boy. Without her glasses, everything was so much more blurry, the close range of his appearance directly influencing what she was even doing. She needed him to leave, needed him to be gone from her permanently. She just- Needed to find an excuse. Something better, that would make him give up his stupid jeers.

"I-I did hit you!" She nodded, voice shaky, "And you deserved it, you- You piece of s-shit!"

Sandy winced at the execution of the swear, but didn't let him revel in her stumbling for long before throwing yet another, more sloppy punch. It was lower, directed at his gut, forcing her closer than she really wanted to be to this disgusting creature. The same process - Land, pain, retreat. She didn't quite get the chance to examine her hand, primarily in fear of seeing the far more damaged state of her pinky. Was she afraid of what it'd look like? No, but she was afraid of recognizing what she was doing.

He could see tears in her eyes, he didn't care. Why should he after all? She. Broke. His. Nose. She was the one that started all of this, she blew the first blow, his words may have had a chance of baiting her, but he didn't plan on a fight today. This was her fault, Armani's normally did not start fights. But they could sure as hell try to finish them. She didn't have to punch him, he was happy her fingers broke, she deserved it. He wanted her to cry.

She was proving everything to him. The useless lot of muggles, so prone to anger it seamed. Couldn't even use a wand to dule like proper wizards. No. Of course not. She had to start throwing fists like some sort of barbarian. What was he? A part giant? God no. He was pure, pure as the color white. Sandy, was as pure as her namesake. Sand. Dirt. And grime. Mud. That must be why people called them 'mudbloods' a little harsh maybe, but in this case, it seamed both of them were going for the extreme.

As Oliver felt yet another damned punch. Right in his jaw. The impact causing him to not only release the hold on his nose, but also let out a shout of pain. A bit of spit flew out. If he wasn't focused on the fight at hand he would be very embarrassed. But- oh dear. He was in a fight. Everything was so fast, Oliver didn't have time to really register that. He was in a fight. He could have time to feel sick about that thought later, time to panic about his family's reactions, his reputation, the trouble he would for sure be in. All of that could wait for later.

Oliver was about to make another retort about her. With her pathetic cursing. Until he felt a gut punch. Quite literally. She punched his gut. He might be sick sooner then later. "Oh now you've done it." He said to really himself more then her through gritted teeth. Doing his damn best to ignore the pain. Again, a worry for later. Right now, he wanted to make this girl hurt. Realize that punching people for having an overly correct opinion was wrong.

He recovered best he could, it was his first fight after all, and he was eleven. So he was still a bit knelled over from the previous punches. He aimed to grab something, to get hold of her. To at best stop her from punching him. At worst get a few blows in himself. He would really try to play it up to being her starting it. He felt he was much more beat up then her. Having what might bruise on his cheekbone, and the broken nose. Compared to her broken fingers from her punches, and a swollen cheek from his initial slap.

So, fueled on rage, Oliver aimed high, quite high. Hoping to grab her hair, and he aimed low, also hoping to stop quite hard on her foot. Throw her off balance, perhaps? So he could get hold of her golden hair, and get her to chill the fuck out. He spoke the truth. She started it. He did nothing but defend himself from a crazed muggle born. The professors would have to see that, see that they could not be trusted in the school. And if not all, at least expel Sandy. Fuck her.

If there was one thing for certain, she needed to back off.

Sandy, with nothing more than a prayer and some general knowledge that her fingers were most definitely messed up, attempted to calm herself. A sharp breath - Inhale, exhale. He was still recovering, tottered over after she had landed that first hit. She'd say she was proud of herself, but it felt more like some disgusting pleasure than true enjoyment. Frazier had always been so against violence, and while she didn't necessarily agree with them, it was also a sort of general rule to not enact it as soon as possible. She had gone through insults and teases for majority of her social life without returning even a single comment back, and yet she started an attack just for that one thing alone?

Her moms were gonna kill her. Both of them. Not even her aunts would spare her, especially not after this. Cooked, she was. Terribly, horribly cooked, as Frazier would say. With him returning to stability, at least from what she could see through her blurry vision, that moment of terror faltered. Her brain zoned back in onto the situation at hand, careful enough to take note of his movement. What in the world was he doing?

Air brushed past at his quick action, attempting to grasp near her head for something. Hardly thinking, if she had even done that at all this entire altercation, she used her left hand to hold onto his elbow, restricting the bending as best as she could with her little hands. The sole focus was on this hazy limb, furiously trying to blink some form of sight into her eyes. It hadn't worked her entire life, and it sure as hell wasn't working now.

Next best thing. Leering her head to his arm, Sandy snapped at the covered arm, digging her teeth as deep into the cloth as she could manage, catching skin and flesh beneath. It was a last ditch effort, forcing her jaw to keep shut even with the pulsing pain that skimmed through her hand, almost nudging her into releasing him just to focus all of her attention on it. Still, she pushed through, pressing deeper until the blood from the slap to her mouth covered the bitten portion of fabric, a disgusting taste indeed.

Her left hand continued it's heavy hold on his elbow, partially bitten and chipped nails poorly clawing against the robes to keep a firm grasp. Every single rise and fall of her chest, shaking her shoulders and running the risk of collapsing from the adrenaline. It felt good, so unbelievably good to just ditch proper fighting etiquette. Who would stop her from having a little bit of fun with her target?

A stomp to the foot, that's what.

A sharp pain danced from her foot through her leg, sending a shock that made her almost lose the balance she had been so carefully focusing on. To keep steady, she brought her other hand up to clumsily find hold somewhere on him, fingers pressing into his shoulder. Her mouth instinctively found closure, momentarily letting go out of shock only to return the bite to the same exact spot once she had gotten over it. An ache fumbled through her mouth, sore from the pressure, and her entire body tingled with something of pain and sensitivity, but never once did she show that.

(She was a liar, tearing up the entire time. She really wasn't built for fighting.)

Oliver, despite everything telling him not to, screamed. A loud shout that almost seamed to echo though the stone courtyard. Tears formed his own eyes to. Damn, He tried to jerk his arm back from the bite. But that just seamed to cause more pain to shot through him. She was locked onto his arm. Remined him of one of those fishes that everyone said lived in the amazon. With the sharp as hell teeth. He tried to pull away, looked around for something, anything that could help him escape this girls grasp.

Nothing. Jack shit even. He couldn't find anything that would make her let go, except for his stomp. That caused for momentary release. The sing he felt from her bite was unlike any other pain he'd felt in his young life. That short relief, was just that, short. As she bit down again. If it was possible even harder. Grip on his shoulder and elbow strong. And yet again, loosing all dignity, Oliver cried out again. What the hell was this girl?

Then. It hit Oliver. She must have not just been a Muggle born disease on the school, but flea ridden werewolf at that end to. No sane student could bit this hard. "Let. Me. Go!" He spat through his clenched teeth. As he could feel so much pain, just about everywhere. He was almost positive she may have broken his flesh on his arm, his nose, his cheek, and his gut. Was- was he loosing?

Oliver could not allow that, he just couldn't he was an Armani. And Armani's were not failures. They did not loose, they weren't supposed to anyways. Let alone to some muggle born werewolf. He tried hitting on her, to see if that would cause her jaw to release his arm. But if anything, it just made her bite down harder. He hated her. Oh how Oliver hated her. Mangy mut. He'd get rabies from her at this rate.

Not seeing any other way to get her to let go of him. Oliver clenched his jaw, so hard he thought he might break some of his teeth. How ever he wouldn't. Not really. He took as deep a breath he could with his broken nose, and yanked his arm back from her. Finally freeing his arm. That he immediately went to clutch. Fuck that hurt. That hurt bad.

"Are you insane?!" He shouted at her, slightly backing away, she had some blood on her mouth, unsure if it was his or hers. He was holding his arm tightly, trying to get some sort of relief from the pain he was experiencing. The way she looked, Oliver was almost positive she had to be some rabid werewolf. "You bit me!" He shouted again, A few tears falling in the pain he was in.

Oliver was not scared of her, no never. He wasn't scared. Him backing away was a tactical response. A way for him to avoid more pain. Think of a plan, damnit think Oliver. He was smart. He could think of something. His wand felt heavy in his pocket. No, no. He couldn't use that, he wasn't sure if any of the spells he knew well enough would help him here. Even then, his spell casting was less then good.

He didn't think there was anything he could try and do to quell the beast in front of him. Some kind of wild animal, with a thirst for blood. God was he pissed off. Shaking in anger, maybe some pain to. "You should be expelled." He gave voice to his thoughts. Glaring at her like he hadn't glared at anyone before. "Freaks like you don't belong at this school." He was breathing heavy. Why they let muggle borns, and werewolf's in in the first place. Oliver had no clue. But hated both of them.

detention incoming: @Sandy Thompson & @Oliver Armani
Ruckus has just finished his patrols and fancied himself an evening run around the castle. As the sole caretaker, he was free to schedule his duties as he saw fit, so he never really had a case of the Mondays as many of his colleagues did. In fact, today's cool October was comforting and peaceful. He stopped just before leaving the courtyard to take a deep breath of it in. Some days were a struggle for the man, but today was—

"You—Mudblood!"

Ruckus's breath stopped in his throat. The voice came from further in the courtyard, a small boy's voice by the sound of it. The following sounds were clearly a fight breaking out. He let the breath he was old out, and promptly turned back the way he came, with a bit more urgency in his step. His mind was spinning with what he might walk in on. Such a small voice for such a big word. The magical world learned cruelty at a young age.

And sure enough, when he turned the courtyard, he saw a first-year girl taking a bite out of a first-year boy, who already sported a bloodied face. The boy seemed to be thinking about pulling his wand, he hand resting his robes—and then he called the girl a "freak." His voice firmly identified him as the one who shouted the slur. Ruckus pulled out his own wand just in case, and he bellowed, "WHAT IS GOING ON HERE!?!" The sound of his voice echoed out of the courtyard and into the nearby hills.

There was a severe and swift detention incoming, but first he needed to assess who did what and why.

It was painful. Just everything, really.

Sandy's ears rang with the loud shout of the boy, non-injured hand shooting up to her left ear as she stumbled away. Her eyes were blurred with tears, hardly seeing the vague image of the attacked in her sights. She never knew how painful fights really could be, and she sure as hell didn't want to find out so young. Frazier... God, Frazier would really be on her about this. Her mother... Violence was always joked about in her family, little prodded comments about being shoved down the stairs if someone didn't move quick enough, or light jabs with a fork. None of them approved of it though, and she knew it.

Bringing her hand away from her ear, instead allowing it to clutch her two fingers. She- She didn't know what she did to them, punching seemed so easy, and yet she was still- Hurt. Pinky finger, middle finger. With how they throbbed, a sharp pain up her arm each second, she could only assume she had damaged them pretty good. And even worse was the taste in her mouth. Metallic, coating the inside of it, while still being partially sure that a little trail of it was now dripping from the corner. Eugh, she didn't even want to know how disgusting she looked.

And then he spoke. A freak, someone who didn't belong there. He was right, wasn't he? Sandy had already destroyed the one thing that kept her close to Frazier - not being violent - and the school year had barely started. Maybe she was a freak. Maybe, for just a second, those kids were right.

But that couldn't be true, surely. Kids would be mean. They'd tease, they'd fight, they'd do everything to seem cool. Whoever this was just happened to be following that. She wasn't... A freak. She didn't act like that. Sandy was a normal girl, it was her family. This boy didn't even know her, and yet he still seemed to know everything that those kids did. He knew her family was weird, he knew she was weird. Everyone knew. She was trying so hard to fit in here, she was trying to be normal, and still everyone knew. Nobody treated her how they'd treat a person, they only treated her how they wanted to. A punching bag, a backup friend, a toy - Sandy was never her own person in the eyes of others.

Her ears barely registered the loud bellowing sound of an adult, ringing drowning out most sound, and yet she forced her head to turn. Sandy knew she deserved whatever trouble she'd get in, because this was her fault. She was the freak, wasn't she? Someone who didn't belong in a school like this. She didn't belong anywhere, and with how people acted, that was apparent.

As soon as her eyes caught the man, she looked down. The tears that had welled up in her eyes prior seemed to just amp up, little streaks of wetness streaming down her face. Her mother would be so mad at her, everyone would be so mad at her. With that thought firmly in mind, the small tears turned into sobs, shoulders wracking with every choked breath. The blood still lingered in her mouth, a small portion coughed out during her little pity party and onto her sleeve, a consistent reminder of what she had done. That only drove her further down her spiral, palms pressed against her eyes tight enough to make shapes dance around her darkened vision. She was terrible, absolutely terrible, and she had no right to cry.

And yet she did. She cried, and cried. Nobody would pity her, and she didn't want that, and yet she still cried.
