It almost seemed as if Remy Alto didn't react to Dinara's words besides the occasional shift of body positions. Another more socially manipulative student may have been able to read his reactions through his body language, but the block-brain that was Dinara Lucey could only sense the sharp piercing gaze that the boy had projected upon her.
Of course, that didn't stop the little shiver that ran up her spine when she heard the words that Remy had borrowed so conveniently from her being thrown back. A little blush spread over her face, barely visible through the mess of freckles that dotted her cheeks. She wasn't completely sure if Remy had been kidding, the little mischievous glimmer in her eyes that she had so missed had reappeared. Eventually deciding to grant him the benefit of doubt, she heaved a small sigh of relief.
His later clarification of the situation had resulted in the slight blush to spread to her ears which happened to be incredibly conveniently covered by the shrubbery she called her hair. In a poor attempt to ignore the heat that had spread throughout her entire head, she pulled up the window shutter and stuck her head out to take several calming breaths.
Well, it somewhat worked. The train had barely started to move off and garner speed, so while the breeze very quickly helped the girl to cool off, it also led to several leaves being blown and caught into her hair -- almost like some variation of a spider web.
She didn't quite know what to think, but all she knew was that he enjoyed her presence as well. That was more than enough to set the girl off as a grinning fool for the rest of the day, and she quickly pulled her head back into the carriage, opting to leave the window shutters partially open. It did get stuffy back there, didn't it? Dinara had failed miserably in trying to contain her happiness and the grin on her face practically stretched from one ear to the other. The air was considerably less tense between the two, and it almost seemed as though they would be able to revert to their usual dynamic as per normal once again.
She pointed to Remy, and Dunkin lazily took a few steps over to sit by the boy's legs. The owl, whilst somewhat protective of his tiny owner, was also extremely obedient and listened to the girl's instructions intently. "Well, yes, Dunkin. I named him after a nice muggle donut-store chain thingy that's near my house! You should really come round to try it if you ever can!" Dinara nodded cheerily, her toothy grin lighting up her rounded features. "Anyway, I'll be following you to the menagerie to find Sharon soon, so we will end up meeting in someway or another."
Nodding confidently, Dinara used her hands to mimic the movement of a rodent, making little squeaking noises to emphasise her point. She absolutely wished to be there with Remy whilst he chose a rat -- it only seemed right that she be there with them after their adventure together in trying to obtain one the cheap way. It didn't really matter that her presence likely wouldn't affect Remy's decision much, something just compelled her to be there.
As Dinara stretched her sore limbs out (from carrying her absurdly heavy trunk), Dunkin started to cock his head towards Remy's hands, curiously staring at the boy's overall demeanor. The owl couldn't exactly discern much, but it was indeed starting to warm up to the male. Like owner like pet, they always say.

They might have defined their relationship as something close to 'friends' or whatever, but Remy was still trying to choose between whether he should think of her as a puppy or a lioness. A lioness would never stick its head outside from the window, would it? How should he know, he had never owned one so far, nor did he plan to.
Remy had never owned a dog either. He had come across many stray dogs throughout his life but never really had the privilege of calling one his own. Even so, he easily linked her behaviors to puppies. When she sat back with multiple leaves stuck in her fur, err, hair, he felt like everything was repeating itself and old moments were coming back. Maybe this was a sign that they were returning to their usual way of acting around each other. Remy remembered that the last time he took the leaves off without thinking much about it. Now he hesitated and thought it through as properly as his 12-year-old bean-sized brain could. He couldn't believe himself suddenly being careful and tentative. Deciding that he wanted to revert back into their effortless friendship, he shook away the doubts and reluctance.
"Can I?" he was already reaching for her hair despite not having an answer to his question. Well, it was more of a rhetoric one anyway. "Why'd you go and do that? Are you some kind of a feral dog or something? Now you're all messed up," he tried to start nagging, mimicking his mother with the tone, very methodical and careful with the way that he untangled the leaves from her hair in his own way. It was unheard of when it came to the usually boisterous Alto. Hanging out with Dinara had taught him how to be a tad bit more gentle too, something he had yet to notice. He wasn't sure about how sensitive she was but decided to proceed with caution and grace. Although he tried to nag properly, he failed in the end and giggled at the sight of the unkempt hair, not bothering to even try and hide his grin like she did.
When he was done, he wouldn't allow his hand to linger and retracted back the exact second that he saw the owl approaching him. Remy had always really loved animals, even preferring them to some nasty humans. The giddiness that refused to sizzle down in him finally exploded when the owl walked over and cocked his head at the boy. He let out a squeal that reminded him of Sharon No.1 back in the day, struggling not to completely smother this owl in kisses and hugs. Most animals seemed to dislike being handled like that and Remy wouldn't risk getting pecked by this owl.
He calmed down without having to stick his head outside (although he really was tempted to) and sat firmly back, clearing his throat once again and pretending that nothing happened. "Come to think of it, I never asked you if you were muggle-born or a half-blood. Or maybe you're a pureblood really invested in muggles." He didn't shy away from the topic as he hurled the question at her without any cushioning. He had a small smile on his face to break off the otherwise serious look when she mentioned the donut-store chain to be the inspiration behind her choice of name. He had been right after all!
"You're sticking around to find me 'nother Sharon huh?" he hummed as his eyes bounced from one corner of the compartment to the other. "I can't name my new pet Sharon, can I? I was thinking about Susan, or Karen...or maybe Debra," Remy tapped his jaw and tried to look as if he was in some deep, meaningful thought. His naming style was quite lame, he wasn't as creative as she was with the cutesy names and opted for disturbingly human ones.
"Oh Debora, always look like a zebra," he sang with a barely audible voice again, chuckling at the catchy song now stuck on a loop in his head. The boy looked up with a smile once again, unafraid to show his teeth off to her. "Thanks for promising to stick with me. That's a promise, right? Come on, pinky promise me you won't chicken out on me," Remy lowered his voice slightly to sound as genuine as he could, leaning forward and sticking his pinky up for her to hold on to. To him, pinky swearing was the most earnest way to promise something and serious consequences followed if one would not keep their word.

Why even bother asking if he wasn't waiting for a reply? That was really all Dinara could think about as Remy started to pick the leaves out of her hair. It wasn't that she really minded at all, in fact; it wasn't even the first time that something like that had happened. A vague memory of the two playing around in a particularly large tree on Hogwarts' Grounds briefly flashed through her mind, though the situation had been very much difference.
His referral of her as a 'feral dog' offended the girl just slightly. She didn't quite mind being compared to a dog, they were just about the cutest creatures around! It was the choice of word 'feral' that truly confused her -- Dinara genuinely regarded herself to be quite a well-mannered, domesticated child indeed. She leaned back, away from Remy's reach. "Hey! Watch who you're calling feral. The breeze is nice, you should try it instead of nagging at me." She furrowed her brows in annoyance in response to his little giggle. Dinara wasn't sure if he was laughing at her or at the situation, but it made her feel somewhat slighted all the same.
Remy may have been going through subconscious changes that even he himself wasn't quite aware of yet, and it was very much the same for Dinara. The girl didn't think too much of the boy's supposedly 'gentle' touch, she'd always marked him down to be the sensitive musician sort, even if he'd like to think of himself as a rowdy, boisterous kid. Attempting to smooth down her messy hair, Dinara combed her fingers through it, though it didn't exactly do much to help her situation.
It was just then a high-pitched squeal that Dinara had never even began to imagine could come out of the typically composed male scared her out of her seat and into the karate stance that she had more and more assumed these days. Blame it on her obsession with that one muggle movie, but she'd thought it incredibly cool to be able to show off some cool karate moves. Perhaps she'd try to learn it at home over summer break, or even attempt to persuade her parents into sending her to a dojo to properly learn. Dunkin was equally as shocked, though he opted to duck between the male's legs rather than try to fight whichever ghoulish entity produced the noise.
The startled Hufflepuff had calmed down considerably once she realised it was just one of Remy's usual antics. Before she could even react, he'd already moved on to yet another subject! This male sure did move fast. "I mean, you can touch Dunkin if you want. He seems to like you." Dinara shrugged nonchalantly before furrowing her brows at his next question. Had they never discussed this topic? She was quite sure that most of the people who had interacted with her knew that she was quite the proud muggle-born, so it came as a surprise that one of her closest friends didn't know that.
"Have I never told you before? I'm very much muggle-born! You are too, right? You seem to know a LOT about our stuffs!" She nodded confidently, quite sure in her self-diagnosis of Remy's blood status. Not that it really mattered, anyway; she had never been one to care much about another's birthright.
The topic of birthrights and blood status were still very much stuck on Dinara's mind when the male quickly switched to the topic of rats once more. She couldn't quite believe that he even had to ask about whether or not she would follow him to pick a rat -- were they not already partners in rat-catching?
One couldn't say much about Remy's (lack of) naming skills, and Dinara was very much quick to point it out. "Why are your names so..." her fingers tapped impatiently on her chin as she struggled to vocalise how absolutely judgemental she was of Remy's naming abilities at the moment. "Why are they so human? Like, they sound like my friends' moms' names."
The sudden lapse into song by the songbird had barely surprised her; Dinara was already well aware that the male seemed to harbor an intense love for music and performance. As much as Dinara enjoyed entertaining others, she couldn't quite bring herself to sing seriously in front of others as a performance, though she did scream really well during her family's karaoke sessions. His bright smile caused something or another to skip within Dinara, and she impatiently slapped her hand against her chest. What was wrong with her?
Still, she nodded seriously, leaning forward and lowering her voice in turn as well. She clung onto his pinky with her own, the size difference all the more evident now. "Yes, I promise we'll find the best rat we can find. You will love her, and you will treat her as well as if not better than you would have treated Sharon. That's a promise!" She nodded solemnly, almost as if their little verbal promise was akin to some form of a blood pact. The Hufflepuff regarded promises with utmost importance, and she was determined to keep this one.

He sighed, still somehow managing to hold a smile, when she took the way he called her feral into her heart. He wouldn't call her a domestic one either. She was wild and free, wasn't she? "Take it as a compliment. You get to live your life exactly the way you want, no need to be a caged bird," he started imitating chirping and the song of some bird. He eventually calmed down and smiled again. "Um, what I meant was sorry! I'll be sure to try it at least one time." Quickly, his smile turned into a more sheepish one. He really should work on this whole apologizing thing that felt so unfamiliar.
He waited for her to allow him to touch the owl. He did not want to make her feel angry or hurt anymore so he was really abstaining himself from doing any rash actions. Instead, he got some kind of a karate stance instead. Remy had his puzzled face on, wondering what she was trying to do. This time, he would not tumble on his backside and firmly sat in his place. "What is with you and that...that," he motioned to her little pose as he picked up the poor owl with the utmost care, muttering soft words of encouragement as if Dunkin would understand what he was trying to say. He hoped that the way that he pet the owl would convey what he wasn't able to say.
Remy was glad to see that at least she didn't feel the need to be ashamed of who she was. Truth be told, Remy remembered his maternal grandmother being quite the blood purist. She did not enjoy the idea of her little daughter Belladonna marrying someone of a 'lesser' status in the food chain. Although she was fond of her grandson, Remy often found himself repulsed by the things that she would say when he was younger. Still, some kind of prejudice was stuck in his brain and persisted, leading him to make judgments about others faster than he would have liked to. He didn't necessarily see Dinara as someone less capable, rather that he saw himself less capable than some purebloods.
"I'm not muggle-born," he chimed in, just saying it as if it was something passing and not of importance to him. Many times he had pretended not to know anything at all about muggles, maybe even ashamed a little bit. His parents weren't too impressed with his attempts to sweep a big part of him under the rug so he stopped early. He did feel comfortable enough around Dinara though to tell her. Hufflepuffs were accepting and good friends, weren't they? If anything, her house was a good indicator if he should trust her.
He was glad that she was more distracted by his absolutely ridiculous naming style. "Hm? You don't like those? How about Agatha or Mildred then? Maybe Gladys?" Remy was aware of how human those names were so he kept spitting out even more grandmother-esque names. He wasn't even sure that he would get himself a rat, nevertheless a female one. In his mind, he had already set it in stone. He would get that rat of a gal if he so wanted! Remy Alto would always get what he wants.
Remy set Dunkin aside for the moment that they would vow to find the successor of Sharon. Her pinky was so small against his. He wasn't sure if her fingers were exceptionally small or his exceptionally long, or maybe a destructive combo of both. He waited for her to say her 'vows' of some sort and let her pinky go. That was settled then, he'd never in a thousand years forgive her if she broke her promise.

The poor imitation of a caged bird by the odd boy resulted in a fit of giggles from Dinara. It almost seemed as though that all the tense energy from the past few weeks tip-toeing around the guy had finally bubbled over -- the two had finally returned to normal. Between her little hiccups of laughter, Dinara could barely manage to choke out a response. She didn't mean to sound offended, not in the slightest! Just a little bit of playful banter, was all. "Don't you worry, I'm no caged bird." Following his actions, she extended her arms as well in a poor attempt to showcase the flight of a supposedly 'free bird'. "It does kinda feel like flying when your head's outta the window."
Of all the things that had happened, Dinara was confused that he had bothered to point out her evidently flawless karate stance. It was a mistake on his end to have brought it up, Dinara would now endlessly torture him by repeating the plot of The Karate Kid throughout the whole train ride back. With shining eyes, she leaned forward and clasped her hands together.
"It's funny you asked, because you see, there's this real great muggle-movie that involves like an old man teaching this young dude how to defend himself and at first the young dude is bad at it and gets beat up by another young dude because they like the same young gal but the the old dude teaches young dude #1 how to catch flies with chopsticks and how to clean cars and trim bonsais then young dude #1 kicks the other young dude's buttocks in the karate competition so that's really cool and I'm gonna be just like young dude #1!"
The true miracle throughout this was how Dinara managed to actually more or less explain the plot of the whole movie in one singular breath. Truly a born rapper of sorts, to have spit out a whole chunk of words without even a second thought. It would be quite clear to see that Dinara thorougly loved the movie and likely saw it more than a dozen times. "Hey, why don't you watch it with me sometime?" Her excitement had resulted in an unexpected slip of the tongue. She very much meant it, but it was quite obvious that the girl hadn't really thought through the practicality of it. Where could the two even watch the movie? Heck, Dinara didn't even know if Remy lived anywhere near her. "I mean, if you wanna and if it's convenient. For all I know, you could live a whole ocean away from me!" Dinara chuckled lightly at the thought of having Dunkin fly to and fro a whole ocean just to send a letter to Remy. She had no doubt that her owl was more than capable of making hte whole flight, it just seemed amusing that they had to go to such lengths to communicate when things like mobile phones existed.
Hearing that Remy wasn't a muggle-born came as somewhat of a surprise, considering the boy likely knew more pop-culture references than she. Dinara turned to look at him in surprise, her brain producing an actual coherent Thought. "Oh! That means you're a half-blood, right? How else would you know of all the muggle stuffs!" she stroked her chin thoughtfully, the grin spreading on her face. "That's really, really AWESOME! You get the best of both worlds!" As she spoke, Dinara did a small wiggle-like dance; her usual expressive self suddenly shining through once more.
This dance was quickly cut short as the girl quite literally deflated once she heard the barrage of even worse names from the boy. She didn't think the male could've come up with names any more inappropriate for a pet rat, of all things! Narrowing her eyes at the male, she let out a loud sigh. She didn't have any right to judge the male for his pet's name, but she couldn't help it!
Choosing to focus her energy on fulfilling the promise, she tucked her hair behind her ear in an effort to appear professional (well, at least the minimal tufts of hair that were willing to stay neatly fixed in that position, anyway.) "When do you want to go to the Menagerie together? I should be able to go with you, though I'm not sure if my parents would allow me to travel to Diagon Alley alone."

He was glad that she seemed cheerful now too. There was nothing better than seeing another person smile wide and let their laugh fill the air, especially when it came from someone that you cared about. He was glad that she did not feel like a caged bird. Hogwarts did kind of lock people inside for long times so he would not be surprised if many people were not happy with this. Often times, Remy wished that he would already be a third-year so he could visit Hogsmeade.
She made sticking your head out of the window sound very appealing and tempting. Honestly, if someone would to walk inside of the compartment right now, they would probably think that two possessed kids were doing some kind of a ritual to summon the bird god Dunkin. That's how Remy would have interpreted it. The two of them chirping, flailing their arms and laughing like idiots.
He was more than surprised to hear her narrate the whole plot of the first Karate Kid movie. The plot, of course, was familiar to him. Remy, contrary to popular belief, was not a sewage rat who had never seen the light of the sun. Alas, he had watched that movie. What really surprised him was the way that she could fit all of those words into one breath. Without a doubt, he grabbed her shoulders and looked into her eyes with a very serious gaze as he brought her as close as he would dare to.
"You HAVE to try singing or, or diving with those lungs!" the boy demanded and stared at her for the next few seconds before letting go. He was almost envious about that skill that she had.
Remy would only now register in his brain what she had said. Right, narrating the plot of Karate Kid and asking him to watch it with her one time. "To be honest, I prefer watching horror movies, but I'll watch it with you," the boy pretended not to know what movie she was talking about and smiled. He was one of those horror-junkies that loved to get their adrenaline pumping. His parents (once again) were not very impressed with their twelve-year-old son watching something that he might have not been allowed to see, but he didn't care much. He wasn't scared and those movies were even getting a bit predictable by now!
"Derry. I live in Derry," he didn't see a problem with the two of them meeting. The wizarding world was so full of different kinds of methods to get across masses of seas and land within multiple seconds. She also caught on quickly at his blood status and he showed her a thumbs up. "You get the beeeest of both worlds, chill it out, take it slow," he sang once again barely audibly, not daring to belt out Hannah Montana songs in the train. Her little dance made him chuckle. He wasn't laughing at her, it was quite endearing if anything.
"I'm free whenever, I have no responsibilities or events to attend whatsoever," he said in a sheepish voice again. It sounded really name now that he had said it out loud. He sounded like a no-lifer with no friends to hang out during the summer. It wasn't too far from the truth but he still managed to erase the sheepish face and cleared his throat. "What I meant was that I can drag some adult with us," he sighed, sounding defeated. There was nothing in this world that he hated just as much as he hated adults, but he'd suck it up like a buttercup just for her.

A puff of air escaped from Dinara's lips as she was suddenly jolted forward by the slender boy who wielded surprising strength for his build. Their sheer proximity was enough to send the girl into full panic mode; what was she to do when faced with Remy Alto's intense gaze so suddenly? His words were more or less missed by her, though she did catch something or another about 'diving' One couldn't possibly have expected the girl to have been able to think clearly under these kinds of utterly embarrassing circumstances!
Pulling away quickly, she mumbled uncertainly. "Yeah, well, diving or something seems cool..." She leaned backward in order to retain her composure once more, choosing to direct her attention towards their next topic of choice -- movies. It was a much simpler and comfortable topic that Dinara was very much familiar with. Given a chance, she would likely talk about it for hours.
Remy's taste in movies were... unique, to say the least. The bubbly girl couldn't stand horror of any form. Heck, you could even call her a scaredy-cat! Dinara didn't deal with any form of the supernatural well at all, she'd even had her parents spray the monster under her bed all the way up till her enrolment into Hogwarts. Of course, that was a well-kept secret that Dinara would never let anyone hear of -- ever!
With a little tremulous giggle, she nodded. "Yeah well, I... Uh, am not a big fan of horror. Let's stick to the karate movie, shall we?" Dinara grinned, attempting to cover her fear and muffle the embarrassing memory of how she'd had nightmares of Chucky for the week after she'd seen it. The girl definitely didn't do as well with adrenaline thrill as the daring Slytherin!
The Hufflepuff happened to be pretty well-versed in her studies, though her knowledge of the magical world remained extremely limited despite her year of study in Hogwarts. As far as she knew, to get from her residence to his she'd have to take a boat! Though she did vaguely remember something another student mentioned called 'flu powder' of sorts.
The constant muggle pop-culture references were becoming something that Dinara got increasingly used to from Remy Alto. Dinara was rather excited at the possibility of the plans that Remy and her had made over the summer break. Brushing her hair back, she pouted as she struggled to think of ways to make it work.
"I mean, it's kinda expensive to have to take a plane just to meet up, y'know? It's fine if we don't get to watch a movie together, I can just get my family to bring me over to the menagerie."
Dinara scratched her neck thoughtfully. That was as much as her brain could think of at the moment, despite it not being the best idea there was. Raising her brows, she tilted her head as she struggled to brain. The mane of hair that sat atop her head flopped useless on it's side as well, almost as if it was representative of the brain cells that were trying it's hardest to think.

He nodded with a serious face, crossing his arms over his chest. "I'm pretty good at holding my breath," he mentioned it in a passing way, remembering how little Remy would always hold his breath until he turned red and eventually blue to get what he wanted. It wasn't a good memory, involved lots of blacking out from his side. Must have been even more horrible for his poor parents and siblings! Then again, it seemed to work since Remy was still alive and had gotten used to getting whatever he wanted.
He caught his thoughts trailing away and focused back on the girl. She looked like she would find horror movies nauseating. Remy had a devilish grin on him as she asked for them to stick to the karate movies. "Alright alright, I've got you. The baby is just a bit scared," he cooed teasingly, shaking his head left and right as subtly as it was possible. He didn't really care if she was afraid or not, he would still watch that Karate Kid with her some beautiful day. As much as he joked around her, he did not want her to be uncomfortable or scared. He had seen her scared and the loud yelps and banshee screams were enough to make a horror movie on their own.
"You know you don't have to do it the muggle way," he mused, playing with his thumbs, twiddling them back and forth and whistling. He swung his legs back and forth to get some power into him and jumped on his feet before her. "Whatever floats your boat, Lucey. But now, I want something to eat. I always do," he smiled. Remy felt like they had sat in the carriage for ages and it was time for him to munch on the snacks he had packed for himself. Well, these snacks he would eat anywhere, anytime, any day and in any company! He wasn't too much of a fan of sweets put those sour muggle candies? He'd sacrifice his little sister to get a lifetime supply of them.
Waddling to his trunk, he dug up a colorful package of sour gummies that he had forced his family to send to him with an owl. "Let's share," he smiled as he threw the pack at her and sat right back down, slouching, getting all too comfortable for this train ride. Remy did his frequent mapping-out-Dinara's-face session again as if he would forget what she would look like if he wouldn't do it on the daily. Summer holidays often felt like a long time to kids his age and he just knew that without friends to entertain him and for him to tease, the days would go on slowly. He gave her a small smile, knowing that they'd see soon again anyway.

Considering that Dinara hadn't caught much of the male's previous demand for Dinara to make proper use of her lungs, his seemingly random statement caused her to immediately spring into Detective Mode -- she narrowed her eyes at the boy as she struggled to decipher what on earth he could possibly mean by him holding his breath. Was he challenging her to an underwater contest? Nevertheless, the seriousness of his face and the nonchalant attitude caused the girl to take his words as a challenge. Crossing her own arms across her chest as well, she stuck her tongue out.
"Yeah, well, I'm sure I can hold my breath real well too!" The girl barely had time to gloat at her absolutely brilliant comeback before the boy had yet again managed to exploit another one of her weaknesses. She absolutely abhorred horror movies, but she blanched visibly at Remy's direct diss. The baby? She wrinkled her nose, a face of disgust painting her features. "Waitaminute, who are you calling a baby?" she pointed at the boy, her finger lightly tapping the boy's nose in an effort to establish her maturity. Not the best of ways to prove her point at all, one would assume. "Fine! I'll watch some horror movies with you because I'm no baby."
A third party wouldn't have been sure if Remy's intention was indeed to provoke her into watching horror movies with him, but whatever he did sure worked. As interesting of a character Dinara was, she could also be regarded by many as predictable and easily manipulated in some aspects. Still, it didn't bother her -- the girl rarely even caught on to the fact that the other more intelligent party was attempting to manipulate her.
She also had an intense desire to learn, so to hear that there were possibly other ways to travel via the Wizarding World came as a delight to her. Her eyes almost seemed to light up; the sunlight that shone through the cabin windows accentuating the amber hues, with a big smile that lifted her cheekbones, creating little smiley crescent eyes. Dinara couldn't exactly compare to some of the naturally intelligent Ravenclaws around, but her thirst and passion to learn about the Wizarding World was quite evident to anyone around her.
"Oh! Are there magical airplanes, then?" she frowned, wondering if wizards and witches even needed things like airplanes when brooms existed. Still, she reasoned, Remy was likely too young for his parents to allow him on a flight across the ocean by himself on a broom, right? The disappointment could be seen on Dinara's face as she let out a small sigh. The girl would never admit it, but the thought of being able to spend a part of the holidays with Remy was something that she had looked forward to.
"Well, I guess we can settle for exchanging owls then?" Dinara smiled at Dunkin as she spoke, who blinked lazily back at her. The owl had indeed made itself at home on Remy's lap, perching on one foot as it blinked lazily, not caring much for the duo's conversations. Grabbing a piece of loose parchment from one of her many (poorly self-made) robe pockets, she hastily scribbled her address onto it.
Hardcragg Hall, 4 Grange Fell Road, Grange-over-Sands, Cumbria LA11 6BJ
Dinara's handwriting was quite reflective of her -- childish, messy, but still somehow legible. Sliding the paper over to him, she beamed brightly, her brows almost shooting up into her hairline.
"Yeah, well, do write to me sometime, won't you?" As she spoke, Dinara scratched her cheek in an effort to still seem casual. The sour gummies seemed like an awfully convenient distraction from her mild embarrassment at having asked the boy to write to her, and she eagerly took up his offer with a boisterous call of 'thanks'.
Kicking her shoes off and propping her legs up onto the carriage sofas it seemed as though the train ride home would be a comfortable one. Dinara's small frame allowed her to use the sofa as a form of a makeshift bed, and she very quickly made herself at home by sprawling out on the generous space that she had. The rocking motion of the train's movements proved to be quite an effective way to soothe the girl to sleep -- the train ride home would be much shorter than Dinara had anticipated, it seemed.
Dinara Lucey has fallen asleep and will awake & leave once the train has reached.
She has left the thread.

What Time Is It?
He wouldn't have wanted it to end this way. With her challenging him (or at least in his mind, it translated into a competition) into a holding-your-breath competition. There she went again, with the tongue stuck out and all. It made him curl his lips into a smile of some sorts. He often found solace in annoying the poor girl, given their past interactions. Even if it was just a small gesture like that, it ruffled Remy's feathers enough whilst giving him the satisfaction of pissing her off enough to do that. Madmen tended to have cheap pastimes.
Admittedly, he was not challenging her to watch horror movies with him but would love to see the Lucey-girl screaming and clutching to him for some comfort or whatever. Lost in his weird fantasies, he snapped out of it soon enough at the mentions of 'magical airplanes'. Remy had a deep-seated hatred for anything that was floating above the ground. Brooms, airplanes, you name it. He had already admitted to the little girl that he was deathly terrified of heights and just the idea of flying made a knot in his stomach. He shuddered, shaking and shimmying his shoulders as if to try and get that mental picture out of his head as soon as possible!
Remy smiled apologetically, not sure if he should tell her about all the things that were possible with just a little magic. He wasn't a professor when it came to all these—'magic things'—as he liked to call them either. Frankly, being as lazy as he was meant that he wasn't too interested either in classes! He did gladly accept that piece of parchment of hers, muttering something akin to 'thanksies', placing the parchment in the pocket of his pants too, tapping it a few times to secure that it was really there and wouldn't just fly away while he was running around like the headless chicken he was. At least mum always said that he did.
Before pushing the piece of parchment in his pocket, he had taken a glance at her handwriting. He couldn't help but chuckle a bit to himself, as quietly as possible, snickering at the childish tone that she had even in her letters. He found it rather adorable. Just added to her childish charm. He too took his shoes off, and instead of kicking them, he placed them carefully next to each other and murmured 'stay' as if they'd fly away if he didn't. Rene let the gentle shaking of the compartment lull him to sleep soon, dreaming about all the things he'd do during the summer.FINE
