This is a group thread for the errand, Tricks, Treats and Tales. Feel free to reference the errand page for any information, and feel free to owl me if you have any questions.
It was the 30th of October, and all throughout the grounds, small fire pits sent smoke into the crisp autumn air. Each pit would have a small group of four to six students that got to socialise, have sweets, make s'mores, tell scary stories... really, whatever their hearts desired. If some of them came wearing a scary costume and others came wearing a bedsheet to be a ghost, the better for them.

Ingredients for s'mores (graham crackers, marshmallows, chocolates and skewers) were laid on a small table at each fire pit. Small logs provided seating for the students, larger logs for the older students and smaller logs for the younger ones. Multicoloured leaves, the warm shades of which could be seen in the firelight, dapped the floor with colours almost like a rug. The point of it all was to be cosy, to be fun, and perhaps a night full of colours and giggles and firelight would get the job done.

To ensure everyone remained safe, and if they did burn themselves, to provide a quick healing spell, Koko, a seventh-year prefect, stood off to the side in the shadows. She was not particularly well-hidden: her light-coloured hair reflected the light easily, making it so that even as she tried not to be a distraction from the event, if she was needed, she could be swiftly located. A silver mackerel tabby sat at her feet, content with the general atmosphere around him. She could only hope that the students would enjoy this, too.
OOC: What to do.

Write at least one post of your character being present at the event. Hopefully, they are enjoying things, but some teenagers are moody.

Your total word count (all posts combined) must be at least 600 words, but you can absolutely write more than one post, or more than 600 words. Please do remember to write at least 200 words per post per site rules!

Upon completion of your 600 posts, please provide your total word count and link your thread your sign-up post in the errand thread here.

Once again, I hope you have fun! Feel free to owl me if you have any questions at all.

OOC Notes: Definitely didn't forget about this errand :sweatingbullets:
Tonight was going to be a special night. While Halloween night wasn't until the following evening, Emily still had a lot planned for the holiday. Unlike Christmas, which she regarded as nothing more than commercialised nonsense back home, she embraced Halloween with all the enthusiasm she had to offer. The spooks, scares, stories and shivers were worth every second of her time in comparison to holiday sales in December, where hard-core Christmas-holics would be fighting in Marks and Spencer's for that last pair of pyjamas to give to their husbands and kids.

Yep. Emily would take getting the living bejeezums scared out of her over "Battle of Marksies" no matter what year it was.

She had an outfit all planned out and ready for tomorrow. Ordinarily she would have just done a basic face-paint job but after configuring a little Halloween shindig with Scout later this evening, she decided she would embrace the full look. She had a full Mrs Lovett-esque waiting for her back upstairs in the Hufflepuff dorms, along with other preparations for her and Scout's get-together. Which reminded Emily, they both should meet a bit early to cap off the finishing touches.

When Emily arrived at the Grounds, people would find her dressed like she would any day of the week, cardigan, tights and all like it was a generic weekend. She wanted to keep her surprise fit for later if people decided to take a small detour near the forest later and found Mrs Lovett staring at them menacingly. She was very nearly tempted to bring her copy of Sweeney Todd to read for the fifth time, just to chill while she spent some much needed relaxation by the fire pit. Alas, she had gone too far from the Hufflepuff Common Room to go back and fetch it.

She found an empty fire pit and plonked herself down on one of the logs that were used for seating where she absorbed the heat of the flames through her sleeves and tights. It had been quite some time that Emily last found herself enjoying the flames of a fire like this; it must have been when she went camping with "Auntie" in the Mourne Mountains, where they spent a great amount of time trying to shelter themselves from the gusto of winds near the mountain top before they could pitch a tent and light a fire where they wouldn't get blown away like a kite snipped from its string. Good times. Hairy scary times, but good times all the same. Well worth the victory s'mores when they made it to the top of Slieve Donard from that same trip.

S'mores! It only just occurred to Emily that there was a full building kit for s'mores nearby on a table right beside the fire pit. Well, if they were there for snacking, snacking Emily shall! She wandered over and made a tiny, neat pile of crackers, chocolate pieces and marshmallows in her hands. She spiked the marshmallows along a skewer before lightly toasting them in the fire, watching the marshmallows turn from pink and white to a slightly golden glint in colour, before masterfully taking the crackers and slipping the chocolate and melting marshmallows between them. In eager time she successfully created mini s'more sandwiches.

She balanced them gently and carefully on her thigh, though only to take one and biting into it. Nostalgia hit her like a wave as she savoured the taste of her s'more, tasting the joy of enjoying hot treats outdoors in front of an open fire.

Dang. Now she really did wish she brought a book to read.

All for maximum bliss.
