Oh, You Again...
Time: Thur. around 6 PM
The Great Hall was filled with students, eager for a bite to eat after a long day of classes. The smells coming from the tables were absolutely lovely as per usual and Avis couldn't wait to sit down somewhere.
She stopped a few meters outside the door and scanned the room, searching for friends or honestly, just an open spot. There weren't many available. Maybe a few of her Hufflepuff friends had gotten here before her? They were usually nice enough to make some room for a newcomer. Avis turned towards the Hufflepuff table and was on her way over when she stopped in her tracks.
The Slytherin girl she'd seen early that day was also walking towards the table further down the aisle. Avis narrowed her eyes. The thief was scanning the table, probably searching for her next victim. Avis sat back to watch, but her eyebrows raised in surprise when the girl walked up to the Hufflepuff boy who'd dropped the object she'd stolen earlier. What was she up to?
Avis watched the interaction carefully. The girl greeted the boy with words she couldn't hear from this distance and turned to search for something in her satchel as he sat patiently on the bench. To Avis' shock, she pulled out the object he'd dropped and placed it gently in his hand. The boy seemed overjoyed and thanked her multiple times before turning back to his seat to show his friends his lost compass. The girl smiled and turned to walk back towards the Slytherin table, oblivious of her observer.
The Ravenclaw first year swallowed, her eyes still wide. So the Slytherin's intentions had been gallant after all. Avis took a breath. She did have times where her temper would run away from her but because of this, she'd never been one to back down from an apology. She walked towards the girl in front of her, hoping she'd find some way to smooth things over.

Keep her hands off other people's things. This girl thought she was lying. Cursed Slytherin robes. Already giving her a bad name and she hasn't even done anything wrong. She watched as the girl turned and left seemingly towards her next class. Sakura didn't get mad often but right now she was pretty close to fuming. Her face was read at having not only been (wrongly) told off but also in front of people. That girl had embarrassed her in public. How could anyone be so mean?
Sakura looked around seeing all the people still standing there staring at her before she turned and quickly walked off the her next class keeping her head down and not making eye contact with anyone she passed.

Now it was dinner time and Sakura rushed out of her last class of the day and made her way to the Great Hall. She was starving after a long day of classes. She walked into the Great Hall but instead of walking over to her table she walked over to the Hufflepuff table. She looked around the table her eyes scanning over every person before landing on the boy she was looking for.
She walked up to him tapping his shoulder to get his attention. When he turned around she introduced herself to him before pulling the compass out of her satchel and gently placing it into his hands. The boy thanked her multiple times and turned to his friends to show them the item. Sakura smiled and bid them farewell. She turned and made her way to her own table. Now she could go eat and hopefully forget about the day's negative events and sleep peacefully that night.

Oh, You Again...
Pushing past a group of Slytherins gathering at their table, Avis realized the girl had sat down somewhere already. She scanned the table of green cloaks and sweaters. Bollocks. She'd lost her. Avis was determined to right her wrong so she walked away from the Slytherin table and towards the Hufflepuffs across the Great Hall with an idea in her head.
She found the boy who'd lost his little object quite easily and tapped him briskly on the shoulder. He turned in surprised and Avis gave him a bright smile.
"Hi, did you happen to catch the name of the girl who gave that back to you?" she asked, gesturing towards the compass that was still in his hand. He glanced back and forth in bewilderment between her and the compass before mumbling an answer.
"S-Sakura. Sakura Kato, I think," he replied and Avis thanked him before marching back to the Slytherin table. This wasn't the most sane idea in the world, but she had to do something. Besides, she'd already embarrassed herself thoroughly this morning. A little more wouldn't hurt.
Uttering a few apologies to the Slytherins on either side of her, Avis stepped up onto the bench and finding a few clear spots between the food, she put one foot on the surface of the table and hoisted herself up, wobbling a bit before she placed her other foot down. Avis cleared her throat.
"Excuse me!" she announced, the students below her giggling at how ridiculous she looked standing among the dinner items. "Does anyone know a Sakura Kato and could anyone point me in the right direction to where she might be sitting?"
Awkward silence ensued at the table, a few entertained whispers passing back and forth among the Slytherins before someone finally spoke up.
"Here she is!" someone down the table quite a few spots away called. By this time, half the Great Hall was watching Avis closely, including a few of the professors. She'd have to be quick. Whoever had called out Sakura's location was waving at Avis from down the table, pointing at a familiar and startled face sitting across from them. Avis grinned and with a cheerful 'thank you', she hopped down before any figures of authority could tell her otherwise.
Straightening her disheveled robes, she walked toward Sakura's location and finally found herself standing in front of the girl. Luckily, most people had gone back to their dinner, but a few curious students were staring and Avis gave them a glare before they finally turned away. Facing her accidental enemy, she cleared her throat.
"Hi, I'm Avis. I just wanted to apologize for earlier today. I think I had a rather rotten idea of Slytherins before I got to school so I assumed the worst of you," she started, the adrenaline from standing on the table still pumping through her, making her a little breathless. "Turns out, I was the rude one so I hope you'll forgive me. If there's anything I can do to make up for it, just say the word," she said, hoping the girl didn't hold grudges. Making enemies wasn't Avis' ideal way to spend her time at Hogwarts but her impulsiveness seemed to have been putting her in a few tight spots these days. She waited for an answer, the first tones of nervousness sneaking into her thoughts.

Then there was commotion near the other side of the table. Someone stood upon the table. A Ravenclaw girl What in the world? Sakura thought to herself. Then the girl turned asking for Sakura. Sakura dropped the tart onto her plate in shock.
The person across from her announced that she was sitting in front of them. Her faced flushed with color at being called out. She watched as the girl grinned and climbed off the table. Oh no. Was this girl coming to scold her again? She was ruthless.
The girl made her way towards Sakura. She braced for the impact of a scolding that didn't come. The girl introduced herself as Avis. She apologized for their incident earlier stating that she didn't have the best thoughts about Slytherin before she arrived at Hogwarts. Sakura understood that. She didn't have the best image of them either before arriving and somehow ended up being on even though there probably wasn't a mean bone in her body.
Avis admitted to being rude and asked if Sakura could forgive her. "Of course. It was just a misunderstanding. I just aske thay you don't go around doing that to anyone else. Whether they are a Slytherin or not. You never know a person's true intentions. No you did hurt my feelings quite a bit earlier but I will look past that. We can get to know each other more and become friends. But for now let'spart ways and have dinner yeah?" Sakura gave Avis a smile.

Oh, You Again...
Avis let out a breath of relief. She didn't usually tend to care what others thought about her but since this accidental bad blood was her doing, the young Ravenclaw felt much better knowing the problem had been resolved. She felt her temper rise a bit at the slight lecture in Sakura's tone but fought it back down when she mentioned becoming friends.
That sounded rather nice and the smile the Slytherin girl gave her was even nicer. Perhaps Will had been wrong about the infamous green house. Sure it had its flaws but so did every house at Hogwarts. Slytherin seemed to usually get the worst of it but Avis was determined to see past her previous short-sightedness. Besides, having a friend in Slytherin was something her brother had never achieved and she was always looking for ways to one-up the sixth year.
She returned Sakura's smile with her own. "Agreed. Hope to see you around," she said cheerily and lifted her hand slightly in farewell before turning to walk away.
Today's adventure hadn't quite been what she'd expected. It was more of a lesson really but Sakura's parting words stuck in her head. Avis thought she might do well to remember to reign in the impulsiveness at times. At least this time having a little humility would perhaps lead to a great friendship?
