Sophisticated Sensibility Pet Finished

She had regained a post. Resuming teaching was both a relief and stressor. There were many things to finish up, and Aoi had come to the Menagerie to finish one of those errands. She had been meaning to get a pet for quite a while but had never found the time to do so.  Of course, she still hadn't decided on which pet to purchase. So a little browsing was required. 

She strolled, stopping and looking at various creatures. The owls seemed calm, content, a little bit lax. Some ruffled their feathers, others paid no attention to her as she passed by. The rats were a bit more skittish, hurrying around their cages. Aoi bent down to observe the little beings. Their cages were clean, but Aoi didn't think she'd be a fan of the odor rats are known to make. She straightened up and turned to see the Pygmy Puffs. They were...not to her aesthetic liking whatsoever. The elimination process was fast. Well, the process of deciding which species. But now which type?

Aoi made her way to the cats. In the back of her mind, she knew she wanted a cat. Her father had been terribly allergic. As a girl, she had yearned for a cat of her own. Tsuna, short for Hiretsuna, had been the name she'd promised to give to her cat if she ever got one. The memories flooded back in, and Aoi started the scan for the best candidate to fit the name. She saw hairless cats but was slightly revolted by them. They weren't very pleasing at all. Cross them off the list. She moved to check others. Some were extremely fluffy, with obscene amounts of hair. That would be a lot of cleaning. Even with magic, Aoi shuddered at the thought of hair everywhere. 

Then a small cat came to her. A tabby, softspoken, let out a meow to grab her attention. The cat's eyes met hers and she knew she had found her companion. Her Tsuna. Aoi kneeled down, carefully grasping the cat under its front legs, lifting it up and allowing it to sit on her folded arm. Tsuna instantly began purring in comfort. "You will be perfect. Mother will adore you, as will I. Maybe even Cy will like you. Let's take you home little Tsuna. But first, we'll need to get you some creature comforts. After we're done here, we'll head off to London and find you a bed, posts, and everything you could need. Let's get you out of here."

Aoi moved to the desk, smiling widely at the couple who run the store. "Hello. I would like to purchase this cat, please. If she is available. I assure you I can pay for her."
