It felt odd to be aboard the express back to Hogwarts when it wasn't packed to the brim with students. It was buzzing just as excitedly though as people found their places with their friends and went about chatting and jabbering about their summers thus far, and going on about what they'd been hearing about with the events at camp that the school was hosting all summer. If she was being truthful, that wasn't the reason she was coming back.

She needed to go back. Right now, the last thing the girl wanted was to be home. Not since that night at her Aunt and Uncles... that horrific night. Since that night, sleep felt rare, which showed in her face, and basic needs aside from maintaining a presentable appearance were tossed to the wayside. The girl hardly did much beyond reading. It wasn't just any typical summer reading, however. She was researching a very specific topic that was slowly branching its way into micro topics. Her sketchbook had become the heart of her learning and though she'd just gotten it at the start of the summer, it was nearly half full already with notes, scribbles and drawings, all tied together. Illowy had exhausted her research materials at her local wizarding library, though. Surely, coming back to the vast shelves of Hogwarts would give her even more hope to learn what she needed.

Sitting on the train, the girl nervously twirled her wand through her fingers, chewing on the string of her sweatshirt. Surely it was too hot to be wearing such a thing, but between the burn scars of the previous year, and the new, still healing wounds of her recent encounter, it felt more comforting to be covered up then to try to stay cool. Though a simple sweatshirt certainly wasn't capable of hiding the few cuts she still had on her face.

She brought only what she felt she needed with her on this trip; a duffle of clothes, a couple books she'd borrowed from the library to finish reading, her wand and her sketchbook and pencil. The snake highly doubted she would need much more. After all, unlike the rest of these children, she was here for a specific reason. She didn't have the need or the will to have fun.

The door of her compartment slid open, startling her from her thoughts as she turned to see who had entered.

I was told I was dangerous. When I asked why, they said, "Because you don't need anyone." That's when I smiled.

Eri was a bit excited to go back to Hogwarts. It had been a while since she left and a lot of things had changed. Her skin was no longer pale, but a nice tanned shade, her brown hair was longer and no longer dyed, and her left ear was pierced with a bunch of different earrings and there were a few designs on the skin. She was thirteen now, finally a teenager, but she was very excited to get to go back to Hogwarts early. She had everything she needed. She was wearing a white tee-shirt with some jean shorts and her favorite black high tops.

Eri walked into the compartment to see another girl. She walked to the other side and put her stuff on the luggage rack and sat down. "Hi, um I'm Eri Windstone and you are?" She wasn't very self conscious of her last name anymore. Though she hoped this girl didn't recognize her and think she was a spoiled brat because her parents were famous daily prophet journalists. On the contrary, Eri doesn't like to associate herself with her parents very often, because they weren't there to raise her since they were to busy.

Illowy looked the girl over for a moment as she put her things up on the luggage rack and made herself comfortable in the seat across from her. Illowy certainly didn't know the girl from her own house, but she also looked to be a bit older then her class as a whole. Maybe a third year? Well, at least going into the third year. The name rung a small bell, sure that she'd heard her mother and grandmother mention it occasionally from the paper, but that was hardly of interest to a twelve year old.

"Illowy Magnard." the girl introduced herself back, tucking a bit of long back hair behind her ear. Eri was certainly pretty, almost edgy, at least to Illowy. Then again, her family was so straight edge, you could shave a niffler's toe without him even noticing; and being the type of girl she was, Illowy never really questioned it. Her mother always went on about looking and acting a certain level of proper and that was how the snake always conducted herself. Perhaps when she finally reached her teenage year, she might come into her own a bit more, but the girl still remained contently under the unyielding pressure of her mother's thumb.

"Are you going back for camp?"

"Nice to meet you. I guess I'm going back for camp. I just want to see some friends and be at Hogwarts. Are you going for camp?" Eri asked wondering what house the other girl was from. She didn't think she was in Ravenclaw. "What house are you from? I'm a Ravenclaw by the way."

Eri grabbed a book out of her satchel and laid it next to her so she can read it later. She had lots of books for the trip, but maybe she wouldn't have to read any of them. Hopefully the girl would be Eri's friend. She needed some new friends. Though she was more excited to get to go to Hogwarts early. Maybe she would drop by thr library to look at all of the books they have. She needed to see if any of her other friends were already at Hogwarts. They would probably not recognize her and maybe she could start some friendships over that ended badly. She really was just excited to go to Hogwarts because there she could kearn everything she ever wanted to learn and more. She couldn't wait until she was old enough to become an animagus. "What is your favorite subject?"

Illowy shrugged a bit sheepishly, "My mum thinks I'm just here for camp. She'd let me do just about anything if she thought I'd actually make friends in the process..." she admitted, "Honestly, I have a bit of a um... project, I guess, that I've been trying to work on. But I need Hogwarts' library to continue it. I've already finished reading everything remotely related to it, and I need more information." the child explained, hoping the girl wouldn't be too curious. Werewolves weren't exactly a popular topic of research, especially not for a child; most children still looked to werewolves as pure nightmare fuel. The last thing Illowy needed was for someone to pry into her reasons and put someone she cared about in danger... or hurt her own reputation. Her first year had already been rocky enough and Illowy was hoping to leave that behind her this year, "I'm a Slytherin."

Eri pulled a book from her bag, making the other brunette wonder if that was a social queue that the Ravenclaw was wanting to finish the conversation and read for the remainder of the trip back to school. Curiously, the girl kept on talking, "Right now? Charms and Transfiguration." she offered a small smile, "You?"
