The Great Hall is a large room with four long tables where students of each House sit during the day and at mealtimes. A majestic enchanted ceiling that mirrors the outside weather is watching over people in the room.
When you just pass the door from the Entrance Hall, Hufflepuff's table is a bit far. This table is the fourth one, after Gryffindor and Ravenclaw on the left and Slytherin on the right. Hufflepuff students are sharing meals and good talks at this table, and you will always be warmly welcomed there.
This is a RPG topic where all students are welcome to post.
All RPG rules apply. Word count per post is 200 words, not including quotes, ooc chat or other people's words. Any flood type of message will be deleted after a warning owl is sent.
If you're reading this... You're awesome.

After being sorted into Hufflepuff Daisy sat down at the Hufflepuff table with a big smile on her face. When she looked around the table she suddenly became very scare
She used to get bullied, teased and sent away a lot because of her eyes (Daisy has Heterochromia). And because of this she is afraid that this will also happen to her here in Hogwarts.
memory
( This was before Daisy even knew she had magic so she was 6 years old) Daisy was calmly walking home with her hood on after a whole day of being bullied at school. "well well well if you don't have Daisy the freak here" "freak why are you here?" with a mean smile on his face. "you know I have to come here to go home" "blah blah blah I don't listen to freaks" the 3 bullies started pushing Daisy around until she fell to the ground. "Ha she doesn't even have a chance to do anything to us" "come on guys let's go, the fun is gone here" when the bullies left 1 of the 3 remained standing and bent down to look Daisy in the eye. "Bye freak" he stands up again and kicks Daisy in the stomach.
After the memories she suddenly looked down between her legs and starts playing with her fingers. And tries not to let her tears flow. *What do you think now, are you really going to be able to find friends here? They might think you're a freak.*
She looks back up and wipes away the tears that are in her eyes. *I can't think like that, this is a new start. I'm not special here I'm the same as the rest here.* And after saying that to herself she started to smile back. She was happy that she is here and in one of the houses that her parents lived in. Daisy sits quietly waiting and looking at the other 1st years that still have to be sorted. And She applauded every time someone was sorted into a house

The Hufflepuff Table 2024-2025
Melvin Reynolds felt his muscles relax a bit as he walked away from the stool that had been placed in front of the entire school.
The entire sorting hat process was nerve-wracking for someone who didn't like to be the center of attention. Mel was sure that every student and professor had heard the stool creak in pain underneath his weight. Obviously, the stool was not accustomed to an eleven-year-old of Mel's size. And then, an old ratty hat (no doubt infested with lice) was placed on his head in front of an audience that he would eventually have to fit in with. The hat then spoke in his head about his own character traits, which wasn't pleasant either. How did an old hat know so many things about Mel's internal thoughts and habits?
So, as soon as he stepped from the stool and began walking over to the Hufflepuff table, his tension noticeably dropped. He squeezed onto one of the benches, being careful not to elbow his fellow Hufflepuffs too hard as he found his spot.
Given that his last name started with an "R," Mel was thrilled that the sorting ceremony was almost over. Only a few more people stood in the line waiting for their chance to have a lice-infested hat mess up the formal hair styles they had chosen to impress all of their new school friends. And honestly, Mel couldn't wait for the next bit.
A few people on the train here had mentioned that the opening feast was nothing to sneeze at. All sorts of meats and breads and juices and potatoes and sweets...Mel's stomach growled loudly at the thought, and he shrunk down in his seat. As long as they finished up here soon, he could eat anything he wanted. And that was more exciting to him than any Potions or Charms class!

The Hufflepuff Table 2024-2025
Although Sao had previously promised herself that she would focus on making new friends now that she was at Hogwarts and newly sorted into Hufflepuff, this thought quickly disappeared from her mind with the conclusion of the Sorting Ceremony and the sudden appearance of a gourmet before her eyes.
With her mother being a Muggle, Sao grew up living more like a Muggle than a witch; the greatest caveat of this was, of course, chores. It also meant, though, that homemade meals were present in her daily life (minus the occasional pizza take-out). And as much as Sao loved her mother's cooking, such as her beef stew or croquettes, she was always left a bit sad when the food was all gone.
But here? Not only did the enchanted plates at the table have a great range of foods, from juicy chicken legs to Scotch egg and Yorkshire pudding. And, whenever her plate would empty, more would appear once Sao wished it so. Oh, how lovely she was going to dine these next seven years at Hogwarts. She could cry happy tears just thinking about it.
Gradually, with every bite, her stomach felt more and more packed. The food was starting to taste too oily, too vibrant in flavor, too thick to swallow. Sao could hear her mother scolding her in the back of her head for letting her eyes get bigger than stomach - again...
But then, Sao suddenly had a new thought. There was this one hamburger shop near her house, where the burger had three patties and was packed with glazed onions, coated to completion with American barbecue sauce. (Before she realized it, Sao was drooling slightly from the left corner of her mouth. She quickly wiped it away with her robe sleeve.) And suddenly, she wasn't hungry anymore.
Besides, she needed to test what kinds of foods the Hogwarts dining hall plates could conjure. She closed her eyes, imagined the burger in as much detail as possible, and then opened her eyes. Lo and behold, there it sat, all in its glistening, savory glory.
The only thing that would make this meal even better would be if it were paired with a cavity-inducing American South sweet tea. As if on cue, Sao's goblet filled with a honey-red brown liquid.
Sao really loved Hogwarts now.

The sorting process was new to Erik. In fact all of this was new. Magic as a whole was still something he was getting used to. Each new thing he discovered made him question so much of his normal life before hand. Thinking back on it now he started to wonder if some of the things that happened around him was due to magic or just random acts of chance.
As he thought on it for a moment he started to connect things through what he imagined magic could do. The thoughts both worried him but also excited him all at the same time. In a way he felt like a kid again thinking of ways magic may have effected his every day life before.
But he lets out a small sigh as he started to relax at the Hufflepuff table. Of all the houses this was the one he least expected to be sorted into from what little he was told. Yet he was here now and he found it rather interesting. Though he didn't think he looked good in the yellow that Hufflepuff sported. But even with that he took to the house rather fast and began to enjoy the feast that was laid out before them. Yet as he enjoyed the feast the thoughts of what all could be learned started to flood his mind making him feel excited and looking forward to future.

The Hufflepuff Table 2024-2025
After the Sorting Hat had declared her a Hufflepuff, Fiona stepped down from the stool with a mix of pride and excitement. She glanced over at the Hufflepuff table, where her new housemates were cheering and welcoming her with wide smiles. Her heart swelled with warmth as she made her way over to join them.
As Fiona approached the Hufflepuff table, she was immediately greeted by a group of friendly faces. They made room for her, and she found herself sitting next to a kind-looking student.
Fiona smiled shyly, feeling a bit overwhelmed but incredibly grateful for the warm welcome. "Thank you. I'm Fiona," she replied, still taking in the grandeur of the Great Hall.
The table was abuzz with chatter and laughter as the new first-years shared their excitement and the older students reminisced about their own sorting experiences. Fiona quickly felt at ease in the cozy and inclusive atmosphere of the Hufflepuff table. The golden glow of the enchanted candles above and the delicious aroma of the upcoming feast added to the magical ambiance.
As the feast began, Fiona was amazed by the variety of food that appeared on the table. Platters of roast chicken, bowls of mashed potatoes, and an array of vegetables and pies filled every inch of the table. Fiona's mouth watered at the sight, and she eagerly helped herself to a bit of everything.
While enjoying the feast, Fiona struck up a conversation with the students around her. She learned about the house's values of hard work, patience, loyalty, and fair play, and she felt a deep sense of belonging. The Hufflepuffs shared stories of their favorite classes, professors, and adventures at Hogwarts, making Fiona even more excited for the days to come.
The feast continued, and Fiona found herself laughing and chatting with her new housemates. The sense of camaraderie and support at the Hufflepuff table made her feel right at home. As the evening drew to a close, Fiona knew that she had found a family in Hufflepuff, and she couldn't wait to begin her journey at Hogwarts with them by her side.

Boy, it felt good to be back! The enchanted ceiling, the smell of food along the tables that stretched across the room and the clamber of voices across the Hall. It all felt like rekindled nostalgia. Even now Emily was struggling to believe she was back again but it felt great all the same.
She tried to suss out familiar faces in the crowd. She could see AngelFyre, Simon and all the other well known faces she met last year further down from her. A few Ravenclaw faces popped up into view when she scanned the appropriate table. She heard a few well known voices behind her in the Slytherin table whilst her eyes travelled to the Gryffindor table, trained on it while she tried to hunt Scout amongst her lion peers. If she didn't find her now then she would more than likely be spending the best part of the rest of the week trying if she didn't get catching up with her sooner than later.
It wasn't long before the Sorting Ceremony picked up in full swing. One by one the new legion of First Years took to the centre stage before being filtered into their new homes for the rest of their time at Hogwarts. After every newbie was ushered to their designated spot, Emily took another forkful of food before silence would befall when the next Firstie would take the stand and so on.
A few new Huffies were directed to the Hufflepuff table, with each new badger earning them a congratulatory cheer from Emily and the rest of the table. Emily could see the excitement of the new badgers as they settled down and mingled with the others, both fellow newbies and older badgers alike. They were in good hands and by the look on a few of their faces, they knew that already.
Badgers were cuddly after all! And Emily would make sure to assist in giving them the best experience with the rest of their cuddly crew.

Louisa McStately beamed brightly as the sorting hat’s echo of ‘HUFFLEPUFF’ reverberated inside her head. I’ve been sorted into a house at Hogwarts, and now I am going to be spending almost all of my life at Hogwarts with them. She looked around nervously and then slid into a spot on the Hufflepuff table.
A rush of curiosity, nerves, excitement and hope ran through Louisa’s small figure and she couldn’t help feeling as though this was a wonderful part of her life. In fact, sitting with a house she (hoped) she belonged to was such a relaxing and great thing especially in comparison to sitting in front of the whole school, with a huge decision about to be decided by a, well, hat!
The young and newly sorted Hufflepuff looked around at the others on her table, and she couldn’t help wondering who she would make friends with, who would be in her class or even her dormitory room. But young Louisa was very convinced that this year at Hogwarts, she would make some very good friends. With a nervous smile, she smoothed down her brown hair and waited hopefully for an opportunity to talk to someone, or even for someone to talk to her.Open to interactions

The Hufflepuff Table 2024-2025
I ran happily to the Hufflepuff table with a big smile and sat in a chair. I was stuck between two relatively tall people. I was a little embarrassed. There were many foods on the table and I really wanted to eat and drink from them. But I didn't want to look bad in the first meeting with my housemates. Of course, the two people who were next to me noticed and suddenly started eating strangely. I laughed at the two of them and noticed their kindness that they wanted to remove the feeling of being miserable.
So I started eating and I thanked God that even though I had no friends in this group, they were kind to me. I looked everywhere. It was amazing. I felt like I loved Hane even the Slytherins. My first day at Hogwarts went well thanks to those two housemates. They took away my anxiety.
One of my sidekicks gave me a friendly tap on my leg "There's no place to think here. It's a place to eat. Hurry up so that the others don't eat everything and don't think about anything. And don't be embarrassed. Okay?" I smiled "Okay, thank you very much" Seeing those two kind people, I was sure that I was in the right place. And I was sure that I would be able to find friends. I ate with a feeling of complete relief. My stomach was swollen to the point where I could hardly walk and my heart hurt. But I didn't protest. I didn't want the Slytherins to make fun of me again.
.When I got off the train for the first time, I looked everywhere in amazement. And I kept asking questions. Well, I didn't know magic. But they didn't. I shook my head to clear the thoughts. I was fine now and I felt good. I didn't need to think about these things. I took a deep breath, all knowledge. The students got up to move from the hall to the common rooms. I ate the last cherry and I got up too.

The Hufflepuff Table 2024-2025
I was a bit nervous and a little afraid to go to a house I didn't know or want to go to. In actuality, I wanted to go to Ravenclaw or Gryffindor because I thought my characteristics were more inline with the students of those respective houses. I was surprised when the Sorting Hat made the decision of Hufflepuff. Not only was I worried about making friends there but I knew nothing of this house. It's safe to say I knew OF them but nothing about their history or what they stood for. When the other Hufflepuffs cheered I knew the things I dreaded were for naught. In my everyday life, I was a worrier...and for good reason (but that story is for another day). In this case, I fretted for nothing because the others were kind and welcoming.
I slowly walked over to my new house's table where I looked for somewhere to sit. There was a student who waved and patted the seat next to her. She was also sorted into the house. This was the first potential friend I met in this extraordinary place. Her name was Ivy Stardust. She was tall like me but she had long, fiery-red hair adorned with small, blue bows along one side and large crystal-blue eyes. The lightest eyes I had ever seen. The bows really brought out the blue in her eyes which was in stark contrast to her hair. She was strikingly beautiful.
Everything in the hall was amazing! The food appeared on the table out of thin air and the ceiling looked as if it was a glorious moving painting alit by floating candles. I noticed there were many ghosts flying high above the rafters. One of them called, the Fat Friar, flew through the walls toward the students. I quickly ducked down forgetting that it could not hurt me. I realized I was famished after not eating all day and enjoyed the scrumptious meal. When we finally finished eating, we all began chatting about the start of the year and what classes we would take.
I exchanged my feelings of dread and doubt for those of wonder and excitement. I couldn't wait to meet my teachers, classmates, and future friends.
