If Elisa had at least had time to prepare for the ball, she did not, however, prepare for the 'Whispers of the Dark' event, for she had not heard of it only days before the start of the event. That's how she, upon receiving her character ID card, quickly pulled out a pair of dark brown, straight-legged trousers and the most masculine cardigan she owned. Elisa also prepared a large, brown hat, for the sake of covering up her long hair. All this, she had stuffed in her enchanted satchel, which she had put in a corner during the ball.

Now, hurrying along the corridors with her satchel stripped across her shoulder, she was headed towards the bathrooms, in order to change from her dress to the other outfit. Of course, of this she had already notified her best friend Swan, who was also coming along to the Whispers of the Dark with her.

There, she quickly pulled her hair into a bun, covered up by her hat. She changed into the trousers and cardigan, and her dress she folded back into her satchel.

And into the Small Hall she came. It was completely transformed- it was almost like she had apparated straight into a small town, with houses and all! A swerve of excitement swirled up inside the young girl

Healing Sage

The fifth group, Noah looked at the lonesome person up and down. Sure, they were presently alone, but alas he felt it was much more significant if he could just pretend to be all-knowing or overall just a stupid-looking jerk walking around. He grabbed the spicy drink he put out earlier and took a sip, regretting that he drank it and put it out in the first place. "Yum. Well."

There were no one else. No one to eliminate or kill or do anything with. He looked at the person a little awkwardly, deciding he’d go ahead and talk to them. If their group didn’t come in by this next round, he didn’t want to do it but he would if he had to, he’d end that group’s Whispers adventure.

“So…” He smiled softly. “Who are you?” He realized that was a broad question. “Who are you playing, I mean. Do you feel like you would’ve been the best murderer ever if you were one? Or do you feel like you don’t want to disclose it?” Sure, Noah was being a bit direct with his questions but why not have some fun with this, at least give the person a chance to participate since she didn’t get to experience temporary death this round.

Notice
Every mod post, you will notice that the light goes out every time there is a murder. The light stays out for 1 minute to allow the murderer to conceal the weapon in some way and to avoid suspicion. When the light goes out, you'll hear a bang from the nerf gun and if you feel yourself getting shot with a foam bullet, you have been killed. You may lay down on the ground and play dead. You may find a funny pose to be in, whatever. When the light goes back on, a vote will be held to accuse someone of the murder.

I've been accused of a murder! What do I do?
Well dearie, you would've been considered "executed" if the majority votes you as murderer. This means that you are out. The game is over when all of the players are dead except for the detective and murderer, or when the murderer has been accused and executed.

How do I vote?
Every round, you need to send me an owl of who you're voting or accusing. Additionally you MUST post otherwise your vote will be seen as invalid.

I did not post for a round or more, what happens? (if you don't send me your vote but post, it's okay, don't worry about it.)
The murderer will likely kill you the next round.

I'm the murderer! What happens now?
Post each round. Send me your target via owl. In Character, when the lights go out, you can pull out your nerf gun and shoot your target. You will have the rest of the minute to hide the gun or conceal it.

I'm the detective! What happens now?
Post each round. Send me your accused victim via owl. You cannot be killed.

I'm a doctor! What happens now?
Post each round. Send me your accused victim via owl. There will be a second blackout in the mod post in where you will have a CHANCE of healing the shot victim.

I was a shot victim! I was healed!
Good for you, you may continue in the game. However, one of your limbs have been ic AMPUTATED so in roleplay, you would not have that limb because the doctor amputated the shot limb.

What if I have to leave Out of Character and I'm the Murderer or a Doctor or a Detective?
That's fine, just please notify us at some point. We will owl another person and give them an additional "title" for their character that they are already playing. For example: Baker is now Murderer but still the same character, you don't gain another. When it comes to a detective and a doctor, unfortunately, we won't pass it on. The game continues until its over.

Please note: We are taking actions via owl so that actions and votes are anonymous to keep the mystery. What you choose to say or do in your post whether ooc or ic can be used against you so do your best to keep your "secret" role anonymous. If you are a detective or a murderer it can be used against you if you say it out loud. We suggest coming up with an undercover job to conceal the fact. Not required, you could be vague, but what you say and do whether oc or ic can be used against you.

Basil almost had a heart attack as he checked his watch. He was so so so so late. He had signed up for something and gotten lost in his book. Quickly running gel through his hair, he straightened his bowtie and hurried towards the castle. The small hall was bustling with activity. He wondered if he would know anyone there. As he ran into the room he realized something. He was not the only one who was late. There was only two other people there and one of them seemed to be the person running it. The other person was a nice looking girl. Basil took a deep breath as he slowed to a walk.
"I am so so sorry I am late. I was reading and then I got distracted and my alarm didn't go off..." Basil trailed off looking embarrassed. He certainly didn't mean to keep the game waiting. At least he wasn't the only one who forgot. Basil looked around for a place to sit. He wondered when, or if, the other people would show up. He certainly hoped so or else it would be very awkward. Basil rubbed his nose and looked at his feet. He hoped that when other people came they didn't really notice him.

Role playing as Clément Cantegrel from Beauxbâtons

The ball turned out to be better than he expected. Sure, there were so many people that he struggled for almost half an hour to find his friend, but otherwise the atmosphere was perfect, and the food... The food was delicious! He stuffed himself of whatever he could find in his way, tried this and that. By now, he was pretty sure that dinner wasn't going to be needed that night.

It was then, when he put his hand in his pocket and felt a little envelope, that he realised there was somewhere he needed to be... Although Clément could only understand a little English, he had somehow understood that there was a role playing event called 'Whispers of the Dark' that he had signed up for. He had received a letter containing information about the character he was supposed to act, along with an invitation the the event.

With that, he rushed to the bathrooms to get changed- not without difficulty- the Hogwarts castle had way too many misleading corridors. When he finally got into the bathrooms, he took out a ruffled dress that had once belonged to his mother, and he put on a wig as well. And yes- his character was a female.

After changing into his outfit, he wandered through the halls and corridors again, to find the Small Hall, where the event was supposed to be held. He pushed the door open, to reveal the decor of a suburban town... If he was late (he was indeed), he did not know it, since he did not carry a watch on him and there were only three people in the room. If it was a role playing game, there's supposed to be more people, right?

"Uh- Ello!", was all he said. It wasn't exactly his fault, since his English was nowhere near fluent. Only then, did he realise it might be a problem- how was he supposed to role play if he couldn't communicate with others?

No, Elisa did not in the least expect to be only player. So when they started without waiting for the others to come, she was still quite unprepared and didn't have any particular strategy in mind. When Noah, the moderator of the game, came and asked, "Who are you?", she almost answered with the classic, usual, "Elisa, Elisa Wagner". but just realised she was supposed to be role playing another character.

"Oh- uh, I'm Tony, Tony DeLuca- and I work at the garage.", she said, stumbling across her words and trying to make her voice seem a little lower. Oh my- I probably seem the most suspected now... It was then that finally, another person entered the room, rather hurriedly. It was a boy roughly her age, and as Elisa had never seen him anywhere before, she assumed it must be a student from another school.

Finally someone! Elisa thought, reassured. Although many others hadn't yet come (like Swan, who was supposed to be coming with her...), two people were better than one. She went on to introduce herself her character to the newcomer.

"Hi there!", she said in her lowest voice, "I'm Tony, nice to meet you!" Despite her stained trousers and her hat, Elisa wasn't the best actor, and she was quite sure the boy could get an idea of who she really was.

"And... you are?", she continued, remembering that they were supposed to discover the murderer...

That's when yet another person came. It was another person that she still did not know. Looks like people are coming! The boy- for boy he was, was wearing a rather ruffled dress that looked like it had been stuffed up in a satchel for a pretty long time, and also a pretty fake wig. Elisa smiled at herself - this boy certainly didn't really get the hang of dressing as girls! Halfway through that thought, she quickly stopped, remembering that she herself was dressed (perhaps badly) as a male character.

By the remarkable French accent the boy used when greeting them, Elisa guessed that he must be a Beauxbatons student... Apart from that, she had no clue what role he had in this game.

Lucy waved as people left the ball, then checked her watch. Her heart nearly jumped out of her throat as she realized what time it was. "I'm late!" She shouted, panicked, and ran out the door. She weaved through dozens of other people, hoping she wouldn't be too late. Next time, I am going to look at my watch a lot. Living in a farm tended to make her lose track of time, but it didn't matter then. Now it mattered a lot. Lucy skidded around a corner and found the room she was looking for. Then she dashed in, embarrassment clear on her face. "Gaa! I'm so so so so sorry I'm late! I didn't check the time and..." She trailed off, surprised that she knew a lot of the people in this room. First there was that one boy she had bumped into at the....it didn't really matter, but she knew what he looked like. Don't think about it. Don't think about it. The anxious thought circle came barging into her head again, but she forced it back. I want to have some fun. She thought instead. And then there was..."Clément! Salut! Hey" She quickly switched to french, remembering where she had met him. "Content de te revoir. Nice to see you again." She said, having seen him at the ball. He was her date. As a friend of course, as she had no crushes. But he was one of her first friends....not that she had time for crushes anyways. She had to solve mysteries and right now, play some games. "I'm Vito Rossi." She gave a smile to the others. It was time for the worries to end, and the game to begin.

He looked at the group. At least he wouldn't need to directly cancel the group immediately, but if they didn't come in sooner, like by next round, he would feel the need to give someone an additional title, the title of Murderer in addition to whatever they are, and Noah had a spare nerf gun just in case.

His smile was soft as he approached each child in the room. "Basil was an interesting name." He said, addressing her. "Who be you?"

He would listen, give her a wink then move onto the boy that was here before the three others came in. "My dear friend, I do not speak uhh not english but uh.." Noah pointed at the girl then at an id card he made for the characters. "Who?"

He moved on, addressing Elisa, of whom was definitely a Hogwarts student. Noah had watched an unofficial duel with this girl and had hoped he wouldn't die. "You. Who are you?"

Finally, to the last girl in the room, Lucy. "Hey! Ooo, Vito! Super cool name, what do you do?" Noah asked, trying to get more information from her, hopefully to get this interaction started so the game may resume soon.

𝒥 𝒥 can’t believe my eyes. Brookline thought as she stepped into the room. She walked in, smiling. It was going to be fun. But she was late. Quite late. Probably a few rounds had gone by.

She had been reading her books, and the very event, just blanked from her mind. She didn’t even remember unto she looked up from her dog-eared book and looked at the clock. Oh shit! I have to go! She thought and scrambled out of bed, and headed for her grey dress. She’d asked her mother in a letter if she’d her a 1930-60s dress. Her mother obtained and sent her a dress, a brown dress with a white blouse underneath. Her mother sent her a short wide-brimmed black hat too.

Putting it on, Brookline brushed her long curly hair into two pig-tails, and twisted them each into twin French braids. Then grabbing ahold of her wand, she stuck the chestnut wood up into the sleeve of her dress and headed off.

Now sticking to the corners of the room, Brookline waited for her best friend @Elvenia Moonshadow come or to spot her in the masses in the students mingling in the middle. She really shouldn’t signed up for this.

Role playing as Clément Cantegrel from Beauxbâtons

Clément needed not to wait long. Shortly after he came into the Small Hall, his friend, Lucy, appeared through the big oak doors.

"Ah- Lucy!", he exclaimed, very pleased see her, "Tu es finalement là! Bon, moi aussi j'étais en retard, donc ce n'est pas de ta faute si tu l'est... La bouffe là-bas était vraiment trop bon! You're finally here! Okay, it's not your fault you're late because I was too... The snacks there were really too good!" He talked in rapid french, quite forgetting he was in an English environment so happy he was to be with someone he knew... It had been quite a while since they boy hadn't felt so light, so happy and so free! That night, tonight, he finally could truly enjoy himself. How much his mother would dearly pay to see him in a so joyful spirit!

"Lucy... Tu seras ma traductrice, hein? Lucy... you'd be my translator, huh?", he added on after a slight pause, remembering where he was. He chuckled to himself.

Then an older boy came to him and- seemed to be asking... his identity? Out of habit Clément was about to say, "I am a student from Beauxbâtons", a phrase he had recited before leaving France. He only just realised in time that this was supposed to be role-play. "Ah ah- okay! I am uh...", what was his character's name again...? oh yes- "Maria! Maria Romano! And I am- non no- my job is... shopkeeper!" He spelled out the last word slowly. Yes, that was what he remembered...
