Closed Are You Nice?

Charlie was wandering around Hogwarts' grounds. She tried to go out a bit each day as she could feel a bit trapped sometimes inside the castle's walls.

The sun was already beginning to go down, letting its rays of light warm the leaves already on the ground. It was a beautiful spectacle to see autumn in Scotland. The lake was shinning in the distance and the trees were taking all sorts of autumn's colours. It was like a dream walking around this magical place.

Well, of course it was magical as it would be expected of a school for witchs and wizards but there was a kind of pure magic in the way nature was transforming itself through the seasons.

So... Coming back to where Charlie was : in the middle of the grounds, shaking a bit much because of the cold. What a smart witch she did, forgetting her scarf in her dorm. But then again, it was not that cold when she went out earlier in the day.

Her eyes finally met a known face. It was one of her classmates from Ravenclaw that she had not spoken too much to since first year. Charlie could in fact seem a bit shy when in reality she just could not find a way to talk to too many people. However, this time there was no one else except the girl so why not go and talk to her. And oh! What a nice cat she had.

"You have a really beautiful cat, what's his name?"

Charlie asked this while coming close to the girl, a smile on her face, gazing at the cat who looked just like its fur was made of snow.

Karina had been wandering around, she was bored, she didn't know what to do. She had just went to the library, but couldn't find a good book, suddenly she saw Charlie, a friend she recently made.
"Hey Charlie!" But the moment she yelled out, she quickly covered her mouth, she realized that Charlie was standing by someone, talking and Karina had just disrupted her. The girl, a really pretty red-head, had a gorgeous white-and-gray cat. No not a cat, a kitten. Karina couldn't help to come up to the two girls.
"Hello guys! Sorry for yelling before... I just saw Charlie, my friend, and thought I had to come over. Hello, gorgeous red-head. That's what I'm gonna call you now, lol. No, I'm just kidding. But, you are really pretty, though! I'm Karina, a 1st-year Slytherin, what about you? And your cat, too, does it have a name?"
Karina turned to the Charlie, smiled, waved and sat down by the two 2nd-years. She assumed they were friends, maybe they knew each other before. Karina looked at their robes, they both had a Ravenclaw symbol on it. "You guys are Ravenclaws, huh? I have many friends from Ravenclaw, but no friends from Slytherin, it would help if I knew someone from Slytherin, that way I could sit by someone during the meal times. Am I talking too much?" Karina seemed to always ask that question, but she couldn't help talking too much, she loved meeting new friends, and had to ask some questions. Karina looked at the two girls who were probably very confused on why Karina was here, and why she was talking to them. So Karina just looked down, down at the little furball that looked at Karina as well.
Karina pet the little kitten, then looked up. Waiting, waiting for the two girls to reply.

Elizabeth smiled when she saw a fellow Ravenclaw out and about like her. Perhaps she too was getting some fresh air.

"Thanks, Snowy is very cute. She's a Silver Siberian." She said, getting up and taking a few steps closer. "You can pet her if you'd like."

I hope Snowy likes her, I think she's nice. Hopefully Snowy does too. She thought but she didn't have to worry about anything as Snowy turned around on her shoulder, looked at the girl, and leaped down before padding over.

"Seems she's fond of you. Everyone she's met she's fond of." She said, giggling a little in amusement. "I keep trying to teach her not to steal other people's foods though. It hasn't worked so far because she'll eat any food that's unguarded."

Taking a quick glance around before looking back at the girl, she said, "It's nice out today but kind of chilly. I don't think I remember your name. Mine's Elizabeth." She put her hands into her pockets, hoping for them to warm up at least a little bit before they went inside.

Another girl joined them, introducing herself as Katrina and the other girl as Charlie. She smiled at Katrina as she pet Snowy.

"My name's Elizabeth and my cat's name is Snowy. She's usually nice even if she tries to steal food. You're not talking too much...I used to...I think I sometimes still do if I'm nervous."

Charlie smiled and bent down to pet this little cat named Snowy.

"What a beautiful name... Oh and my name's Charlie..."

She was interrupted as she introduced herself by Karina who happened to pass by too.

"Hi Karina! And for all that matters..."

She looked at both girls one at a time.

"...I don't think anyone's talking too much. Why would it matter anyway? We are just girls talking and having fun and meeting some very cute cat!"

This cat really is the cuttest ever. Saddly I don't have anything to offer him, I only have sweets in my pockets...

"Wait! Elizabeth right? That's what you just said? Here is a candy for you!"

She handed a candy from her pockets to the fellow Ravenclaw, just like she did when she met Karina.

"Sorry it's a bit out of nowhere but I looooove candies and these are muggle ones!"

She took a closer look at the one she was handing to Elizabeth.

"And this one is blueberry flavored! I love blueberries. Well I love lemon more but blueberries are so good. I'm craving blueberries right now."

And Charlie laughed because she changed subjects in such a weird way.

"Sorry where were we again? Oh yes! Snowy! She's really nice, you're right. How did you get her?"

Charlie was still amazed by the cat. One thing about the Paracelse's girl is that she loved animals and had a precious connection with them. It was... Relaxing in a way nothing else was.

"Your name is beautiful! And your cat's, too. I'm actually saving up for a bunny. I have the money, I'm just waiting to get accepted. Anyway, what are you guys doing out here. It's getting cold. I think you should head inside, or at least put on your winter robes. It is almost winter after all. I know we still have a while, but do any of you have plans for the break? Are you guys going to spend the break at home or at school?" Karina turned to Charlie. Karina was playing with her pendant. It was a star-shaped one. It looked similar to Charlie's, except Charlie's was a moon.
Karina took another look at Snowy. She couldn't wait until her pet came, then she could play with him forever! She sighed, "I should probably go. I mean you guys look like you have an amazing friendship (so far, hehe) but here I come, and it feels like I'm stalking Charlie..."
Karina started backing up, not noticing that she bumped into a little squirrel that was laying on the grass. Karina was sure that Charlie and Elizabeth noticed it, too. "Oh, you poor thing! What happened?" Karina picked the little thing up. It looked like it had a broken paw. She quickly tried to warm it up, placing it under her shirt. Karina looked up at the two girls. This is going to lead to an interesting friendship... She thought, smiling.

"Ooh, a bunny sounds cute! That's definitely a good choice if that's what you want." Elizabeth said. "I think all animals are good pets depending on who buys them."

Cocking her head in thought, she pursed her lips in thought. "I think I'll go home for winter break because I spent it at school last year. Everyone here is so cool but I want to spend time with my family. I don't blame anyone who wants to stay over break, it's really a cool place."

At the remark about it being cold, she nodded, "Yeah, it's definitely getting colder with winter on the way. I've never been a fan of the cold but Snowy here loves to go out." When Charlie handed her the candy, she smiled and took it. "Thanks, it's been awhile since I've had candy. I think the last time I had candy was the day I got Snowy right before summer camp in Diagon Alley." So saying, she popped the candy into her mouth so Snowy wouldn't take it.

"We can all walk back together, have some more conversation on our way to warming up if you guys are getting cold." She said, "How do you like school so far? I remember when I was new last year and my first friend, the first thing we ever did together was to go swim in the Great Lake without anybody there."

Charlie started to walk as soon as her school mates talked about the idea. It was chilly outside and she was definitely getting cold.

"Honnestly I'll do the same as you Elizabeth. I already did last year and I don't think I will ever stay for winter break at Hogwarts. Don't get me wrong, I love it here but I also miss my mom and dad so much and Christmas is really the holiday I'm looking forward to the most. I will still send Christmas cards to everyone I know here in Hogwarts for sure!"

She gave a smile to Karina while her eyes were wandering to the girl's necklace.

I really don't get why I'm so intrigued by this.

"I don't actually remember so well the first days of school last year. I struggle to maintain friendship let's say... It's just hard. I love it but I always seem to get something wrong. However I remember spending my first night in the dormitory. It was so weird and now, a year later, it feels like home. I met someone this first night, she was really nice..."

She blushed when remembering the night. It was just a silly crush and never really talked to her more later but still. It was nice.

"Okayy I know it's not been that long for you since you got here Karina but what has been your favourite memory from school? And girls, do you have any book recommandations? That's so random but like I've read everything I wanted to read this week and I'm looking for new books for next week!"
