Loud chatter and commotion of school and it's occupants seemed a galaxy far away as Prat lay awake on a bed. Throwing up an apple he had found on his way, deep in his thoughts as it came back within his grasp. The silence perhaps eerie to his usually overstimulated ears as the time passed by with nothing more to accomplish other than rest and heal. Prat not being used to such calm felt out of place and wanted to step away. Afterall this was perhaps his first time bothering to look around this place, observe it's features with nothing but the sand of time slipping away from within his grasp.
His previous visit was marked by spells and duels too, similar sight to this one with bruises and all sort of weird spells only few moments shy of a humiliation ritual in it's own right. For his sake and pride to an extent, he could walk on his own two legs as he limped towards the room on his arrival. Following behind the moderator for their duel and the the guy who had somehow decided to join him for a duel of the halfwits.
Some time had passed since their arrival as Prat laid back, the apple still made to oscillate between air and his hand. Looking back Prat wondered what led to a duel which began as their friendly bout to changes shades into a battle of hardest hitting spells. Perhaps it was when the green skin taunted him. Conceivably it could have also stemmed from his innate need to win. Prat who stepped once again came seeking glory, had Ernest standing in his way and the only outcome he would accept was a total overwhelming victory.
No, it was surely the taunts, little shrektard had it coming, Prat reaffirmed himself as he dodged the idea of his innate emotions guiding his actions and relented to choosing the provocative words from his opponent as true catalyst for the conclusion to their Duel. However now that their inconsequential duel had ended, he felt himself feeling no grudge. As much as his clothes were singed, his thirst for a duel on equal footing was somehow met. Ernest wasn't the ceiling of his duelling experience after witnessing feats that which overshadowed both the secondies. He did however see a clearer road towards where he wished to go and could now focus clearly on his aim in the coming years.
Prat's moment of solace broke as the other occupant began stirring up, arising from the concussion he must have suffered when he was sent back flying off during it. His opinions of the lad had considerably changed, sure he had a mouth on him, most snakes did. He might have also been one of those goblins who preferred to be outright mean, though most goblins would fly under that umbrella. Watching him wake up, Prat momentarily looked away as the boy collected his bearing and any screw that might have fell out his head before he began to stare at the boy. Judging him over, judging his worthiness to be a friend or a one off acquaintance.
He seemed fun and Prat had a deficiency of snake buds to hang out with. When the boy finally sat up, Prat greeted him with a grin, imposing the win he had now to hold over this lad for eternity. Knowing it would annoy him. "Good Morning Princess, had a nice nap?" he continued, adding more fuel to fire before going back to laying down. Digging into his apple awaiting a response from the new snake duellist, helping him find a singular common ground to continue their conversations.

Strength is but a servant to mind
Ernest groaned; a throbbing pain in his temple. Last he remembered was being thrown by a smirking Slytherin, a horrible last memory if he's being honest. Worse yet though; he heard the other boy speak, meaning even in his misery he had to listen to the other's chatter. “Would be a better nap if there wasn't the buzz from a brat in the other bed,” he mumbled, his words slightly slurred from both his headache and just waking up.
He rolled over, turning to try to get himself more sleep but it was no use. He peeked his eyes open to look at the other. Prat might have felt well enough to snark at the other, but he looked just how Ernest thought someone after a duel would look; tired and sore.
“Bed too cheap for your poor snotty bones?” He snarked back as he tried to throw his legs over the side of the bed to stand, “or are you just so eager to poke fun at me, you couldn't even take a snooze?”
His legs felt like pins and needles as he touched them to the cold floor, his jaw clenching at the discomfort, as he decided he'd wait a bit before getting up after all.

AEIOUSAPrat’s eyes flickered open at Ernest’s groan, a wry smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. “If you’re going to whine like a crying donkey, at least do it in silence shreko,” he replied, his tone lazy yet edged with snark. The two of them were a sorry sight after their duel, and he couldn't help but find a twisted humor in it.He shifted slightly, feeling the dull ache in his own limbs. The room was quiet except for their banter, the kind of silence that seemed amplified in the infirmary. “Bed too cheap for your poor snotty bones?” Ernest had quipped, and Prat chuckled softly.
“Ouch, Ernest. That one really stung. Maybe you should stick to dueling; your insults are almost as weak as your defenses.,” Prat shot back, though there was no real malice in his voice. It was the kind of joke you'd make at someone you were intending to befriend, even if your consciousness wouldn't want to admit it. “Besides, who needs sleep when you have such riveting company?”Prat leaned back against the pillows, smirking.
The two boys, each nursed their own wounds as they shared a brief moment of camaraderie amidst the two of them. Prat was unfamiliar to a similar feeling since a long time in his very short life. He couldn’t quite remember the last time he had been able to share such easy banter with anyone. Most of his interactions were now veiled in sarcasm and guarded looks. Perhaps there was something about Ernest, something familiar in his sass and stubbornness that he showed, and the resilience which kept him standing during that duel. It struck a chord.
Prat couldn’t help but relish the opportunity to tease the little goblin. Poking fun at the other boy brought a semblance of normalcy to the day. This was one of the ways Prat knew to make friends with people. The snark and banter came naturally to him and were a familiar approach. Something he didn't have to learn and, oddly enough, it felt comforting. His grandfather had remarked how the snark and banter was inherited and part of the charm.
“You know,” Prat began, his voice tinged with playful sarcasm, “for someone who talks so big, you sure spend a lot of time on your back. Must be the view or something.” still rubbing his temple, Prat added “I thought Slytherins were supposed to be cunning, not just mouthy. Guess there's always an exception that proves the rule.”

Strength is but a servant to mind
The moment Elisa had heard of Ernest ending up in the hospital wing, the first thought that had come to her mind was 'What has he gotten himself into now?' , while her worries did decrease as she realised that he wasn't alone, as the handsome goblin had managed to not only injure himself but also injure his opponent, something that made her wonder 'How far did their duel go?' , Elisa walked through the halls, her hands clutching on some flowers while her face remained stoic,
As Elisa entered the hospital wing, she made sure to ignore her looks, Tsuki, her new ferret was hanging around her neck while her usually open hair was now tied into a messy bun, her eyes held a look of tiredness and the dark circles below her eyes shone, a proper sign of her fatigue, after all only an inhuman person would look normal after pulling all-nighters continuously for a whole week. While some would call her study routine a tad extreme, to her it seemed normal, after the last warning her mother had given her, it would be the wisest decision for her to balance her studies and extra curriculars while also performing her mischiefs every now and then.
Elisa looked around the room, to see Ernest on one of the bed and next to his bed, laid another brunette, while she couldn't take in their conversation, she was sure about one thing and it was that they were bickering, Elisa slowly cleared her throat and muttered to Ernest, "If you two's bickering is over? Ernest how did you end up like this? Any bad injuries? And I've brought some flowers for you", she gently placed the flowers on his bed as Tsuki out of a sudden started climbing down her neck to place its head on her shoulder, making its face visible.

Strength is but a servant to mind
Ernest looked down at the floor to keep himself from glaring dangers at the other. “What did you just call me?” He said, looking up half angry and confused. The hell is a Shreko. His hair hung limpy, losing any kind of it's normal style from both the duel and his sleep, it curved around his ears and hung in his eyes.
Prat’s remarks were making his head hurt, “Oh hush, You are lucky you're already in that bed or i’d call round 2 without wands,” he said, rubbing his eyes. How long had he been here?
He listened to Prat as he mostly talked to himself at this point, only looking up when the hospital wing door opened with a loud creak. Elisa walked in, looking worse for wear, he'd think it was because of him if he didn't know she had been packing in any and every study session she could. “We weren't bickering,” he mumbled as he looked at the flowers. He has never received flowers before.
She has laid them on the bed, right beside where the goblin was currently sitting. He continued to stare at them for a bit before finally looking away, and back at Elisa. Only, this time there was another little face there. “Oh fucks sake, what's that?” He yelped out, immediately moving down the bed and away.
Ernest wouldn't admit it, but small mammals made him uncomfortable. No, he wasn't scared but… why. Why must the girl he li- the girl he admires, have such a thing.

AEIOUSA𝔭rat's eyes found a distinct glint in his eyes at Ernest's bewildered reaction, Prat was similarly surprised seeing Ernest had no idea about the legend of Shrek. He'd however found the perfect opening to spin a tale so grand, it just might fool the young goblin, leave him questioning his very lineage.
"You've never heard about the legend of Shrek?? How wth-" he began, his voice filled with feigned surprise and judgement. "I thought you'd know, considering the shared family history between the two of you. I always wondered if you guys were somehow connected." Prat nodded with a serious look in his eyes, as if he was laying Ernest's secret heritage bare before him. "Shrek among the wizarding families is said to be a direct relative of yours, a hero of great renown. A mighty sorcerer in his own right. It's quite the pity he left to live in the muggle world and became a star."
"Your ancestor, Sir Shrek Baird, was a paragon of courage and wit, a legend foretold even among the pure-bloods !" he sighed "Were you not aware? in one of his documentaries he once outsmarted an entire army of knights with nothing but an onion and a donkey by his side." Prat couldn’t help laugh deep down in his mind as he took in the new arrival, his brain going ewww. “Look Elisa brought a smaller, furrier version of herself. How utterly narcissistic of her,” he joked. Decided to ignore the interruption, Prat continued, "And don't get me started on the magical donkey, he could slay dragons."
Prat assured him, "There's so much lore about him hidden among the Wizarding elites, a prophecy of Shrek foretold the rise of a great hero with green skin and an unrivaled power to annoy those who dare to oppose him." Prat juggled his apple, or whatever left of it, judging if both Elisa and Ernest were buying his spiel. "The green skin is said to be a family trait," Prat said with an obviously fake deep voice. "It skips a few generations, sometimes but it's always there, muggles call it recessive gene or something."
