Was it surprising that the Abandoned Toilets seemed like a quieter and more comfortable place to read than the library? Yes, very much so. But it didn't come as a surprise how much more smelly and gross it was. In fact, the creepy atmosphere and the disgust it caused her made it nearly impossible to read, hence why her book was now discarded on the cleanest (not by much, she would have to wipe it down afterwards) surface she could find.
But it would have been a waste of time and personal cleanliness if she left now, so wouldn't it just be better to hang around and find a way to have fun? But she couldn't think of much she could possibly do: she didn't have any friends to do questionable dealings or make secret plans with, or know any spells she could mess the room up or scare people with. So what could she possibly do?
Attempting to snap her fingers together, but only really spreading the grime further along her hand, an idea popped into Elise's head, what if, as sort of a way of celebrating her recent arrival, she laid out a fun little series of puzzles for people to solve, and in finishing it she would... uh.. give them a pat on the back? Well, the last part could be figured out later, if her idea even succeeded in getting past setup.
So, she began to set up, first, a little riddle, if they can finish that, she'll go to the next area and set something else up. Three puzzles max, including the one she finished writing out, and hopefully it gets a little interest, it'll be amusing to watch if it does.
She taped the riddle to the mirror, reading it over before nodding to herself, it wasn't the most subtle, but it would work, she figured, disappearing into one of the stalls to watch.
The riddle read this:
Continue up, to where the air is clear,
In that abode where all are near,
Far away, yet all gather around,
No voice to listen, but words abound,
OOC Note:
If you think you've found the answer, open the reducio, even if you haven't it's fine, just continue on, ping me and I'll put up the next location.

Amelia was on her way back to the dungeons, her head up in the clouds. She's just sent a letter back home, telling them about hogwarts, and entertained herself with ideas of everyone's reactions to the letter. She could see her father's amused look in her mind, his eyebrows shooting upwards; Just then she slipped and fell on her back.
Who spilled so much water around here?! she got up slowly, trying not to fall again. The water came from a door signed as "Toilets". Wait! She's in the second floor! That must means these are the second floor toilets! Amelia rolled her eyes at her own line of thoughts. How ridiculous, of course it is.
Curious, she went over to the door and opened it slightly. The room was empty of people, but so dirty and smelly Amelia had to cover her nose with her hand. She looked around, still standing by the doorstep. One thing did not belong to this place, though. There was a bright little paper, taped to the mirror. It was pretty much the only clean thing in the room.
Amelia tip-toed slowly to the mirror, trying not to fall or touch anything, as it would probably take weeks to clean it off. She reached the mirror, and read the note. "'Up, where the air is clear'..." She muttered to herself. It's obviously a place in Hogwarts. But where? An idea suddenly came to her mind, and she rushed off, excited.

The library was officially Pamela's favourite place in the school. There were soo many books which smelt sooo amazing...Pam could live there forever. She resisted the urge to lift the book in her hand and smell it again. She shook her head at herself in disappointment, "One would think I've never touched a book before," she muttered to herself.
"Pam!", a voice called, breaking her out of her reverie as she turned to face a familiar black haired girl, "Pam! I've been looking for you!".
"Lower your voice or our librarian will kill you," Pam warned, "This is a library after all" She grinned at Amelia happily, "How did you find me?" The latter shook her head and whispered conspirationally, "We can have that conversation later. I found something interesting which you'll like! No questions." Pam followed Amelia out of the library and to the second floor toilet, "Uh, you wanted to show me....toilets?" Pam grinned slyly at her, "Nice of you. Never knew there were toilets in this place!" Pam sniggered at her words and then pouted, "That would probably have been more impactful if I didn't start giggling."
She eyes the bathroom and then turned to Amelia, "So, we're here because....?"

Amelia rushed back into the bathroom, Pamela right behind her. She'll never tell Pam, but she learned her schedule, so she could reach out to her friends every given moment. Yes, it may seem a bit creepy, but Amelia felt rather lonely; she hadn't gotten a round to meeting more first years yet, and her dorm mates seemed all busy, so she made sure she knew where Pamela was most of the time; she still worked on memorizing Anthony's schedule, but it was more complicated, as he's common room was so up high in the castle, and she wasn't so familiar with that part of the castle yet, and every time she tried to look for him she got lost.
She hoped it wouldn't freak Pam out if she found out some day. And it's not like Pam's schedule is so complicated! They share most of the classes, and she spends the rest of her time in the library, so really, Amelia has done nothing wrong.
As Pamela took in the soroundings, she didn't notice the little note.
"No, silly, look!" Amelia laughed. "It's a riddle! I figured it should be a place at Hogwarts, but maybe it's a reference to something? What do you think?"

Pam giggled, "Sorry just kidding" before turning to look at the riddle Amelia has pointed out to her. She read it out aloud for the two of them.
Continue up, to where the air is clear,
In that abode where all are near,
Far away, yet all gather around,
No voice to listen, but words abound,
Pam frowned, reading the riddle again, an turning the words over in her head, "The great hall?" she suggested, "Or.....the restricted section of the library? Since it says where words abound?" Pam frowned for a second, wondering why exactly she started with the last line of the riddle, before she grinned at the idea of it being the restricted section of the library, "Maybe we need to break in there-" She eyed Amelia, "Bad idea?"
"Although the phrase ontinue up........ that would mean the higher levels? What do we have on the higher floors?" She asked her friend. Pam sighed, rather disappointed at her lack of knowledge of her school but it was huge and she hadn't had a lot of time to check it out anyway. She shrugged it off quickly. She'd get there eventually; after she was done fangirling over the library anyway.

Pamela turned to the riddle, reading it out loud. Amelia watched her expression change as she thought about the meaning of the words. She had some ideas about the riddle, and grinned when she suggested breaking in, but then went back to being serious.
"No, breaking in is definitely a bad idea," Amelia grinned at the thought- perhaps one day in the future. What was upstairs, though? Amelia knew some of what was there, but not much; it was easy getting lost upstairs, with so many classes and students walking around. She even met once lady in a drawing, wearing a pink dress, that asked her what's the password. Before Amelia had the chance to understand what the painting wanted from her, some older Gryffindor chased her away. Amelia sighed; this would totally be an awesome riddle to solve in the future, when she'll be older and won't be chased away by some senior. But right now, she had to refocus on deciphering the riddle before her.
"Upstairs... There are the Raven and Gryff common rooms, there are the west and north towers, and astronomy tower. The north has the owlery, and west has some class we'll have in third year. Or it's opposite? I'm still not familiar enough with the castle..."

Pam shrugged at Amelia's words, and then said with a laugh, "You already know more than me. I locked myself up in the library after arriving
"
She had truly planned to explore the castle that day. But one of the books in the library had caught her attention and she had completely lost track of time while reading it. Not that that was anything new at all though.
She turned her attention back to the task at hand and thought back to her options, "Since the riddle says, "Where the air is clear", it probably means somewhere open..so not the common room I suppose. So that leaves us with the astronomy tower and owlery."
Pam smiled slightly at the thought of the owlery. It was a truly beautiful place filled with varieties of owls, and it really brought out the part of Pam which loved animals. She had already written to her father and was waiting for a response from him. She missed him terribly.
She added, reading through the remaining lines of the riddle, "And the lines "Far away, yet all gather around" could refer to stars....or owls? Or letters? This is confusing. Which one do u think?"

"'All around'..." Amelia stared at the note, trying to reveal its secrets. "Could be both- owls bring people who are afar from each other together through mail," Amelia thought back to her letter home and smiled; surely it's on its way right now, and if the owl she chose was really fast, then it might arrive home in just about an hour or so.
"But then, in Astronomy tower there are telescopes, that can show us the stars- they're 'far away' too, and the telescope shows them as if we're right next to them."
But no, that didn't sound right. It seemed that Pamela though so as well: "But what about 'No voice to listen, but words abound'? Sounds more like letters to me." Pam raised an elegant eyebrow, smiling, a playful glint in her eyes. Amelia returned her a wide grin, wiggling her own eyebrows in a mischievous expression. "Yeah, you're right, definitely Owlery then! Let's go!"
It occured to Amelia that she was in the Owlery a minute ago and didn't notice anything out of the ordinary, but really, who would notice a small little note in all of the mess up there?
The two girls ran out of the bathroom, to see if they solved the riddle correctly and search for the note.
