Aodhan was, without a doubt, not the strongest person out there.

His form was small and lithe, conditioned more for running and lucky escapes than using pure force. Magic also wasn't an option, not when it'd been less than a month since he was even introduced to the darn thing. He'd often been praised (begrudgingly at times) for his adaptability to new situations. So, why was a part of him still not fully computing the existence of chocolate frogs and a winter wonderland in the middle of summer?

Perhaps everything was too... wonderous for him to fully digest. Too sudden. There were no parents around to confide in, no classmates to pester or entertain, not a hint of the familiar scent of his home. Is this why his mom was so mopey despite his own enthusiasm? Because she knew he'd begin to think and feel this way? Knew that for once, he would feel overwhelmed?

... Whatever. He hadn't left the tent area just to act like a crybaby. He was here to have fun! Throw caution to the wind and have a blast, then he'd return home with no regrets. Aodhan nodded to himself in determination and looked down at his handiwork: a large snowball that nearly reached his kneecaps. A trail decorated with footprints could also be seen from where he was standing, a testament to his efforts.

His exact plans for this were not fleshed out, not yet, but it was better to start than sit around and wait for night to come. Especially when at that moment, the sun was already kissing the horizon. From his position atop the mini snow incline, he could see the sky was decorated in a mess of colors. Purple, orange, yellow, and red hovering above him and the tents not too far ahead.

"Ah... crap," Aodhan grumbled, crossing his arms across his chest, "Will I even have time for more brainstorming?"

Solitude didn't often come easy to the brother of one of the loudest people in all of Castelobruxo. Briar found himself following Alphonse and his friends during most of his free time, but mostly to ensure he didn't get himself into too much trouble. It was quite demanding but Briar wanted to see himself succeed as much as Alphonse, they had too much riding on them to embarass the Toussaint name.

The Winter Wonderland sprinkled the entire stadium with a fresh layer of snow and with Alphonse forced to help his mother cook, it finally allowed Briar some time alone to peruse through one of his mother's books from her personal library that he may or may not have asked permission to borrow.

Finding himself a corner of the stadium that was both isolated and quiet wasn't too difficult to do, especially as most of the children were fixated on the sunset hues of lilac, sherbet, and rose painting the English skies. Briar would find a bench to make himself comfortable on, legs crossed one over the other as he began to focus on the ravishing world of hemlocke and the multiple uses of preparing the plant for deadly poisons and dosages needed for various outcomes.

After a few moments to himself, Briar caught the blur of a figure in the corner of his eye and there was a younger student (he assumed) pushing together a fairly large snowball towards what looked like an incline of sorts.

" Brainstorm what, exactly? " The words like bullets flew from Briar's tongue directly towards the strange kid as he kept a finger in his book but closed the tome for the time being. A sharp gaze narrowed in on the other, almost as if Briar was deciding something important in that moment while the other mulled around with his snowball. It was almost embarrassing if the kid hadn't looked so endearing.

'Brainstorm what, exactly?'

The boy, so lost in his own musings, nearly jumped in shock from the voice that suddenly reached his ears. He looked a tad ridiculous, to be honest, with his tensed shoulders and widened eyes. It wasn't until his gaze landed on the nearby stranger that he began to relax his body. The guy was very obviously taller than him and looked well-kept, all signs which pointed to them being older.

And perhaps if this stranger was dealing with someone that had proper survival instincts, their expression would come across as intimidating. Unfortunately, Aodhan was no such person; he'd actively jump into a pit of fire if it meant having a good time. So, he did what he did best and gave off a wide, toothy smile.

"What I can do with all this snow, obviously," he happily responded, despite that not being obvious at all, "There's tons of options, but not that much time. I mean, I can always make a snowman, and I already have the base for that. Then again, I can also try being more original since a snowman is just stupidly basic, and maybe try... What else can I try? See, this is why I need time to brainstorm."

His words came tumbling out in the form of an avalanche, and the youth thought nothing of it. He was simply being open and properly answering the other student's question, wasn't he? It would be annoying to leave out the details, or at least, that's how he would feel on the opposite end of things. He took a moment to then bend down and pat his handiwork, like one would a brand-new car. However, it was at that moment a thought struck him.

"Hang on, you're a wizard, right? It'd only make sense if you're at a summer camp like this," Aodhan chatted excitedly while facing his companion for the evening, "Maybe you can use some fancy magic on it! Like... Like lifting it into the air and making it explode, like fireworks! Or you can bring it to life!"

Imagining all these feats left a certain kind of excitement tingling within his limbs. The boy hoped, really, really hoped this other person would say yes. Even if it was all new and absurd to one part of his mind, he couldn't fight the overwhelming wonder and joy of magic. Actual magic! Somehow, it had his smile growing even wider.

Did some people just go through life as though it wasn't all some game of chess? Eyes wide open and on edge that there were too many witches and wizards attempting to amass power for their own gain. It was something Briar noticed in the small cracks of facade in others and how others would position themselves for an advantage. Briar kept his cards close and this boy was naive and seemingly harmless in his thoughts and dreams of a snowman creature. He hadn't a clue what the other was talking about, a life in the tropics would do that to a kid.

" Well, I can wrap you in the snow if you want. I'm sure there's a spell I could muster up. " That was always the first option, a nice little cage to keep the boy occupied trying to get out. " Or set the snow on fire, let's see how long it takes to turn the stadium into a lake. " Quick to pay attention, Briar tossed out suggestions like landmines curious what the other would react to and how. The boy played games and paid attention to everything.

" Wait, are you not a wizard? Isn't this a wizard camp... " Did this kid not have a wand? He knew too much to not be here for the all school Summer Camp. Briar walked closer to the kid and he was clearly taller than him. Under his breath, the soon-to-be second year grasped onto the base of his wand and chanted the incantation "Nive Percutio." [Result: 25] as three large snowballs rolled themselves neatly and packed with fresh snow and raised up into the air and slowly began to spin around Briar as he walked closer to the younger boy. " Wanna see how good you are at dodging? "

Aodhan, in all his fascination, was the personification of an open book. He made no effort in hiding the way his face twisted up, his mind quickly being flooded with images of being held underneath snow. It was odd, odd enough to entertain, yet not exciting enough for him to agree with the idea. Unless this stranger was intending to create some kind of elaborate, icy escape room, it would be no different from getting trapped like a dog. Boring.

The second offer, however, forced the boy to raise a brow in curiosity. Wasn't that just a suggestion to flood the camp? Return it to a state more befitting of the summer holiday? Actual chaos for the sake of chaos, one that would no doubt send his company from the night before into a frenzy. An amusing vision no doubt, one that caused a sparkle to appear in his irises.

"Melting everything would take a ton of firepower, wouldn't it? Are you saying you're strong enough to pull that off?" he asked with mirth in his tone, hoping for a rise to the subtle challenge. The small, rational part of his brain understood it was unlikely. He was attending a summer camp for juveniles, all of them still honing their skills and therefore, having little to no feats to their names. His goading was all in good fun.

Still, if he really did stumble across someone with that much power... the possibilities were endless. What a goldmine that would be! Unfortunately, his thoughts were forced to momentarily crash and burn in light of the question he received.

"Oh. I mean... yeah? Yeah, I guess I am! Some lady came to my door earlier this month and pretty much said I can do magic, so..." Aodhan supposed he wasn't acting very "wizard-like" to hear such an inquiry. A wizard. He was a wizard now. No—he'd always been? Why was recognizing this so difficult? It reached a point where he couldn't even think to maintain an image, not with his world expanding at an unprecedented rate.

His answer came in the form of three floating snowballs, quickly circling the taller boy before him. Ah, yes. Surely his brain was lagging because he was still incapable of doing things like that.

"Woah..." he breathed, eyes wide as he soaked in the sight.

"Wanna see how good you are at dodging?"

At that, a signature grin quickly split across his face. "Hah, I don't wanna just see. I know that I'm good at dodging," he assured, the words dripping in sheer confidence. He then slightly bent his knees, brows soon furrowing with concentration. "I don't even need a countdown."
