Too Much?
Emiline had had it with her temper. She always lost control. She doesn't know why but the small things really make her explode. She must have inherited her anger from her father. At least I got the magic as well. She thought bitterly.
She had her most recent explosion today at one of her housemates. Even though the girl had forgiven her and they got along fine, the guilt of exploding like that was gnawing on her stomach. She held in the emotion for the whole conversation, but after she left, she felt her eyes starting to prickle with the tears. Not now! Wait! She commanded her eyes. For some reason they listened. She hurried all the way to the library, She knew it wouldn't be too busy on a Sunday morning. She gave a small smile towards the librarian and hurried towards the back near the fifth and sixth year book section. Of course Emiline didn't know that, she just chose to go to the least populated area of the library. As soon as she sat down, back against a bookshelf, her tear started flowing. Emiline brung her knees up to her chest and rested her elbows on them. Her hands trying to slow the flow but it just wasn't happening. Emiline had let this guilt be stored up. The guilt of exploding on anyone and everyone who just was there on the wrong day. Her head was a mess, self critical thought repeated round, and around and around. Am I gonna end up like him? Constantly yelling, so much that people become scared of me? She thought. The tears became heavier and the sobbing became a small wail which got muffled when she realised how loud that noise was. No, I'm not gonna end up like him, I promised I wouldn't. She sniffled, "No I wouldn't, I wouldn't" She whispered.
Emiline had no clue how long she cried for, all she knew was that a headache was pounding, her eyes were raw from rubbing and her hair was frizzy from the amount of times she had raked her fingers though it. Every time she had almost calmed down, her brain gave her one thought to think about:
And the tears would start anew, the quiet sobbing, trying not to be too loud. But failing every time that thought pierced her mind.YOU ARE JUST LIKE HIM!

Finding @Emiline Hunter in the Library
When Simon first got to the Library, he was near the Herbology section - researching something for class to se the way it would react being planted near something else, and that lead him to wondering what would happen if a professional in herbology tried to crossbreed it with another plant species; curious if it would yield a benefit to the medical world. Maybe it was just wishful thinking, but it seemed like perhaps there were possibilities to expand magical medicine with this technique and surely other wizards were working on this sort of thing. Scientists did it in the muggle world all the time.
When he was done with that rabbit hole, he headed to the History of Magic section to look up some clarification on a topic for that class. It seemed like this section and Arithmancy were some of the most deserted sections of the school's library, where most students only dared enter if they risked being bored to death. Simon found some of History of Magic interesting - but he wasn't sure that he could say the same for mathematics.
It was there that he saw a girl crying. She seemed to be in that sort of phase where she was trying to stop, but it just wouldn't allow it - ebbing and waving each time she tried to get control of her emotions. Simon wanted to help, but he also didn't want to disturb or upset. He stepped closer, wondering if he should give her some space when he realized it was Emiline!
Never one to let a friend go through troubles on their own, he now approached. "Emiline......" his voice was soft, soothing. Simon crouched down next to her and when he noticed just how red her eyes were, he came and sat down right next to her. "How can I help?"

Too Much?
Emiline's body shook with the intensity of her crying. The sounds of the library muffled and slow, as if she was trapped in bubble, where she was safe. Time warped before her, slowly creaking past but it felt like she had been there for hours. Her vision swam before her with her tears making the shelves go back into their brown haze. She heard footsteps approaching and her name called, she looked up, but her teary vision didn't help identify who it was.~@Simon Kincaid~

She quickly blinked before more tears could form so she could see who it was. Simon. Emiline heart tightened for a second. He noticed that I was upset. He cares! A hopeful thought whispered through the negative ones, but was quickly silenced. Her eyes hurt so bad and her head was pounding so loud. With a crack in her voice Emiline spoke, "T-they are just s-so loud. I want it t-to stop-p," only just audible through the tears. "I'm a horrid person, I'm just like h-him." The tears flowing freely now. She quickly rubbed her eyes in an attempt to slow the flow but it just didn't work. Sorry Simon, you have to deal with all of this. The more functional part of her brain thought. Her tears slowed slightly just in time for Emiline to choke out , "I promised I wouldn't be- turning out just like him, my stupid fath-" A gulp to slow the flow cut her short."S-sorry S-simon." Emiline cried. It was clear that her father had a clear impact on her. Despite that he is mostly away for work and when he is home he is horrid to everyone.

Hoping to help @Emiline Hunter
Simon wanted to help his friend and he listened to her carefully, hoping to be able to be of any assistance at all for her. He hated to see anyone in agony, especially someone that he held a friendship with. Her tone alone told her that she was in pain but he wasn't entirely certain he understood the words in which she said.
She mentioned that 'they are so loud' and she wanted them to stop. It was fairly quiet in the school library at that moment; especially in the nearly abandoned section that they were in - so he knew she didn't mean any fellow students or the school elves that were reshelving the books. Most likely, Simon concluded, it was thoughts within her head. He knew how it could get too loud sometimes. Music often helped him in times like these.
"Talk to me," he said gently, not trying to sound pushy but to encourage her to share more with him. "I know all about stupid fathers, trust me. Mine is.....well, mine's as difficult as they come and I don't think he's the best per.... the best individual. But trust me, just because someone is family doesn't mean we have to be like them. Genetics only goes so far."
"Let me help you, Emiline," he encouraged again. "I won't judge you or look poorly upon you."

Too Much?
Emiline took a moment to calm herself,. What Simon said about his father made her confident to share her story. Her gulping tears eventually slowed to a gentle sniffle. She wouldn't be able to explain to Simon what was going on if she kept crying. For her, it felt like five minutes but in reality it was only two minutes.

With a deep breath, she began to explain," So basically my father is the magic side of my family and he is the reason I inherited the magic. He used to be so kind and supportive but now he's more obsessive and domineering. He acted strange when my older sister showed no magical ability, but he acted eager when i showed my magic." Emiline Emiline paused for a moment readying herself for the next part of her story. "He acted weird and started asking me to do small favours like make a pen write a signature. At first, I didn't think anything was wrong until he asked for something too big and I refused." Emiline took another deep breath. "He got so angry, yelling and screaming about how useless I was and how he was only trying to improve my magic, then my mum and sister came home to quite a scene. And you can probably imagine what happened next. The family broke apart and I went to live with my mum. She supports me as much as she can but its difficult for her y'know." Emiline took a deep sigh. Her body deflating with anxious energy leaving. "The reason I got so upset about getting anger is because I don't ant to hurt people by words I don't mean. It would mean that i'm no better than my father." Emiline finished. Even though Emiline was still upset, she felt better for sharing it even though she dumped her worries onto Simon. "Sorry, that was a lot to listen to." She said with a sad smile.

Words with @Emiline Hunter
"We all get upset and sometimes that means we raise our voice or say words that aren't the most kind...." Simon looked over to his friend that he had first met in Diagon Alley. He was glad that Emiline had gotten sorted into Hufflepuff - not only because he truly felt it was the best house (for biased and non-biased reasons) but also because that attested to her character.
"But that doesn't mean you're anywhere at the same caliber as he is. You've seen how his behavior can be destructive. You've seen how his behavior can hurt others. You've seen how his behavior can break others. He's taken it too far that he's driven away people that care about him, he's driven away people that he once cared most about." He thought about his own father and how he and his mother had ended things before she even found out she was pregnant with Simon. It had been a short lived romance and he often would have liked a time turner to see exactly how things had played out between them - what exactly was her full reason for leaving.
"But you got upset about getting angry, Em. You said so yourself. And this, your tears - this is all evidence that you are not like him because somewhere down the road he no longer cared if he hurt others but you're not cut off from emotion like that."
He placed his nearest hand over hers and squeezed it gently. "Never apologize for saying what's on your mind. I asked to help, I want to help, and you're just assisting me in understanding."
And he still didn't understand it - maybe just a tip of the iceberg. Emiline had known that man all her life and had seen him grow progressively more into a monster, it seemed, and Simon was grateful that her mother was doing what she could to get her out of such a situation. It seemed that her father needed help himself and maybe these were cries for such but if one didn't want to receive help and wasn't ready then help really wasn't very helpful.
"He does sound obsessive, controlling, and manipulative. I wouldn't use any single one of those words to ever describe you, Emiline. And it sounds like you've got your mum to help you, and I bet even that sister of yours is in your corner sometimes when she's not trying to compete over a guy," he smiled over to her, hinting on their first encounter at the ice cream parlour. "And you've got a family here at Hogwarts. If you haven't met them all yet, you will," he meant those friends that became family. He had found many. "You've already got me."
"Fathers.....can just be difficult. Mine's a lot to take in and I'm not sure how I read him. I just know that I want to be a father someday and I hope to all hopes that I'm nothing but loving, supportive, and encouraging."

Emiline listened thoughtfully to Simon. She gave a small smile when he mentioned that she was nothing like her father, and the weight on her shoulders seemed to lighten. The advice seemed very thought out and made Emiline's heart warm. Her smile widened slightly when Simon gently squeezed her hand in support and told her not to apologise for asking for help.
She listened intently to what Simon said next and laughed a genuine laugh when he brought up her sister's embarrassing attempt to flirt. Her eyes softened when he mentioned their friendship being like a family. When he paused after fathers, a small crease formed in her brow. I hope his relationship with his father isn't as bad as mine. She thought.
After Simon confessing that he hopes to be a loving, supportive and encouraging father, Emiline flung herself on top of Simon in an embrace. "Thank you so much Simon, I haven't a doubt in my mind that you will be an amazing father. Just look how many times you've helped me and probably many others. And about the family thing." She paused to pull back. Emiline then gave a playful look, "I've always wanted an older brother that actually knows how to do magic." She finished with a laugh.

An offer of brotherhood to @Emiline Hunter
He hoped that he could be a good father. He hadn't had that influence growing growing up but he knew what that lack of influence could feel like. All he wanted was a family - a big family, full of love and who were there for one another. A group of special someones to share that journey through life with. It sounded like an amazing future that he was looking forward toward beholding.
"I could kind of be like an older brother who's learning how to do magic," he offered up to her. He wouldn't go as far as to claim he knew how to do magic. Magic was such a vast area with so many subsets. He had barely scratched the surface of magic despite being this far in his schooling at Hogwarts.
Perhaps she could come to him though if she needed help with anything brothers might help with - small questions about her homework, help when she was feeling overwhelmed, and a bit of an advice. He could do those sorts of things and maybe it would be nice to have another closer friendship at Hogwarts.
A good friendship was always something that was good to get. Simon smiled over to her.
