"I would not wish any companion in the world but you."

Rosalie was the newest addition to the Séverin household. She helped Alexx cope, unknowingly of course, with the divorce situation that plagued the siblings. Alexx had yet to owl Tex back. Mikey hadn't even broken the news to her- it was Tex that did. He was good about being blunt with things, and she couldn't fathom how much the oldest of the four was coping with this. But they all had each other. All except for Alexx.

Like the idiot that she is, Alexx let this sit. Emma knew what had happened, but that was it. So, quite naturally, a knot began to build in her chest, and she felt like she was on the verge of a breakdown at all moments. But the proud Prefect wouldn't budge. She would stand still like a statue, unmoved by nature and its ways. Her parents were never in love, so it didn't matter.

Rosalie was he happy space. Mikey and Tex were there when she got it, and they helped her pick out the name, too. So when Rosalie hopped right out of her pocket and went chasing the feet of a student, Alexx broke out into a full-on run. Pygmy Puffs were fast creatures. They bounced everywhere, almost as if nothing affected them. What a lot of people didn't realize was that they were just like regular pets. They had a personality beyond compare. Rosalie, in particular, was curious and excited. So, when she jumped right off of Alexx's shoulder and rolled down the hall, just before running like she intended to win a marathon, Alexx groaned. This had happened before.

Spotting the pink ball of fluff, Alexx dove right after her, cupping her hands with the intention to catch the creature. Falling down onto her stomach, an "Oof!" following, she opened her hands. "Gotcha!- Huh?!" Her eyes were wide when she saw empty palms. "Damn it!" She called under her breath, watching Rosalie roll away. She sunk down, letting her head fall in defeat. In the process, her green eyes met a pair of shoes. "Oh!" She exclaimed, blushing in embarrassment.

Alexx looked up, spotting Reid Kovacs, her second favorite Hufflepuff. Had Ami Procoppio not set the bar so high, he would be her first favorite for sure. Reid was cool. Looking back at the way the halls split, she lost sight of the pink puff. Then, she looked back at Reid. "Well, now that I've fallen for you and I can't get up, can you be a gentleman and tell me which way that bloody thing went?" She joked, smiling sheepishly at him. "Sorry for falling right where you were walking. My pygmy puff- well, you saw."

She hadn't bothered to get up yet, as she was a bit out of breath. Playing Quidditch put her in shape, and then she fell right out of it the minute she stopped practicing. Now, she was lying on the ground, looking like a dope in front of Reid Kovacs. Not like that was a problem, because Reid was... well, just Reid. She needn't impress the poor boy. "She's always doing this- it's annoying. And here I am, on the floor, and she's off on down the halls."

Huffing, she rolled over onto her back, faking a cry. Her hands reached down and straightened out her skirt, which had gotten caught in itself in the fall. She had thrown her robes into her satchel, as she disliked wearing them a great deal. Besides, she wasn't bothered whenever there was a bit of a chill. So, when she wasn't in class, there wasn't a need to wear them. Usually, she had them on just for the purpose of Rosalie sitting in her pocket, all cozy-like. But currently, that wasn't an issue. Instead, she was wearing her white button-down and the green and silver tie, which had flipped around a bit, no longer straight.

Smiling at Reid sheepishly, she flashed her pearly white teeth at him. "Are you well, Kovacs? How's the weather up there? Say, wanna help me find the little devil? I could use an extra set of eyes. Hope you're good at diving." It was no longer a suggestion, she was now ordering him to help her. Reid wouldn't say "no". She knew this because he was cool. Cool people didn't refuse adventures.

In any particular day, Reid was out and about. Unlike a good amount of the studious Ravenclaws, he was particularly finicky and often moving. He wasn't part of the team, Hufflepuff had no team yet, which certainly dampened his mood. He wanted to be a beater if he could be, but it seems that he had to wait and really that was what sort of made him anxious. The Quidditch World Cup last year of course only worked to further this anxiety and hunger.

But he actually was already immersing himself in a sport way before teams were announced. He had a penchant for supporting Derby County's team and that only got stronger the more he was away from home. He could be taken out of Derby, but the Derby wasn't taken out of him. This was especially true since he had taken a football with him back to Hogwarts. Since the beginning of his second year, he had occupied himself with it and his lack of a physical activity class was substituted by his love for football. No magic, no tricks, it was pure skill and he relished his growing control over the ball.

As social as he was, Reid enjoyed his alone time just as much as it was with friends. It's also helped him cope with his dwindling number of companions this year, but he was growing to understand that things change. Perhaps it would change! Though that's why he kept himself committed to playing football, a simple game that trained his coordination. Just outside of the Quidditch Pitch was where he typically played, using the green expanse as a field.

He studied outside a lot too, preferring the sun and the wind over a quiet library. Plus his toad Scully was pretty happy with just hanging out with him on the ground, he even let the toad sit in the hood of his jacket. On some days, he even got a student to play with him. But today, he went back early. He carried his ball under his arm as he walked down the old halls of the grand school, his feet taking him anywhere really. For a second, he stopped to unwrap a Drooble, only to get disturbed by his Slytherin friend taking a tumble at his feet.

His brows knitted in confusion as he popped the candy into his mouth and without hesitation, he held a hand out to help her up. He held the ball on his other arm. By the looks of it, she wasn't out of class yet since she wore her uniform. He for one was just in shorts, a Derby Count FC hoodie, long socks, and worn sneakers. Apperance wise, he wasn't as well kept as his friend.

His hair was a mess, his knees were a little scraped, his socks and hoodie were grass stained. "Lost your pet, Alexx?" he asked, once he helped her up. There was some mild concern in his voice, knowing how easy it was to lose a pet in such a big school. Scully croaked in his hood, the toad every now and then would peak its head. He had a bag of nasty dead crickets in his pocket, but he didn't want to gross Alexx out just yet.

Aurelia walked down the halls, her fitting her left hand was a saddle brown falconry glove. Perched atop was a massive great horned owl Aspen. The need for easy access for sending countless interview owls had resulted the Gryffindor journalist to keep her owl in the office than way up in the owlery. Owls were nocturnal animals and so Aspen usually took her naps on the makeshift coat rack Aurelia had used as a perch.

However, today, while working on one of her articles. Aspen had became rather restless, she kept hooting and cawing, making it impossible for the second year to focus on her draft. So Aurelia had put on the protective glove and took Aspen out of the doors of the office, intending to take her pet owl to the grounds.

Her shoes clicked against the cobblestone floors along the corridor. Aspen surprising was silent unlike when she was in the office. Perhaps the owl was just creating a scene just so her owner could take her out. A few students she passed glanced at her owl in awe. Admittedly, Aurelia was proud of her owl who possessed such magnificence.

It was only two levels down when Aspen’s golden eyes brightened and she stood up straighter something Aurelia was familiar with. Aspen had seen prey. Every 3 days or so, the proud owner would take the owl outside so she might hunt. The first time Aurelia had seen Aspen kill, she had been grossed when her owl swallowed the tiny mouse whole, but that was how the food chain worked.

Before Aurelia could respond, Aspen had already spread her wings and took off. Aurelia was always fascinated at how silently the Owl few. However, it was not a mouse that Aspen had saw. At the end of the hall was an eye catching pink fluff. A Pygmy Puff. And to Aspen, it was lunch. Aurelia, who had been down the magical megenarie knew that Pygmy Puffs did not come cheap nor did she want Aspen to choke on the volume of hair the pink critter had.

It might have already seemed to late, Aspen was almost reaching the end of the hall where she would catch the poor animal in it’s deadly grasp. Aurelia then resulted to her last option, she pulled out her wand. “Periculum,” upon her incantation, red light shot from her wand in the direction of the Pink Pygmy Puff. The harmless spell, as intended had startled her bird, causing it to let out a loud shriek as it somewhat skidded across the cobblestone ground, missing its target. Aurelia jumped into action, sprinting towards the Pygmy Puff and grabbing it before Aspen could. Her grip was firm but not hard but caused the pink squirrel to squeak in her hands. Aspen, on the other hand began to hoot disapprovingly.

Taking Reid's hand and allowing him to help her up, Alexx smiled at the Hufflepuff. "Merci, mon ami." She thanked up, nodding as she did. Reid, she had begun to realize, was an extremely casual person. He seemed to value comfort above all else and didn't have a general care for what others might think of him. The French girl sort of envied this attitude, as she realized it would do her some good to care less about the opinions of others. It wasn't that there were anyone she was seeking out, or eyes that she wanted to be cast her way. Instead, she merely feared what hushed voices might say when her back was turned. She, she kept up her appearance.

Having just left class, she was still in uniform. Running down all these flights of stairs after leaving class, hurried to get back to the Slytherin common rooms (which, by the way, was quite inconvenient being in the dungeons, given the amount of classes located upstairs), it had happened that Rosalie slipped from her. Rosalie had a tendency to do this when she saw Scott Alexander, who Alexx was convinced Rosalie like more in comparison to her actual owner.

As she looked back at Reid with that same sheepish smile across her face, she nodded. "It seems like I have. So, do you want to help me look or not? She couldn't have gotten far, I'm sure. By the way, is your hood croaking or is that just me? You know what... I don't want to know. Actually, yes I do. Why does your hood croak?" She rambled, jumping from topic to topic, much as the boy had done when they first met.. No sooner had the words left her lips than a squawking noise was heard down the halls, startling the blonde girl. "Qui ne peut pas être bon." Alexx spoke under her breath, eyes going wide. She grabbed Reid's wrist, attempting to lead him over to where the noise might have come from. "Come on, Kovacs. Let's go."

Dropping his wrist after a few short steps forward, hoping he would take the hint to continue with her, she ran in the direction that she believed she heard the owl noises. Those were owl noises, yes? What else could they be? Better yet, who in Merlin's name let an owl loose in the corridors? "Which way might it have come from...?" She asked under her breath, eyes scanning the place. Going with her gut instinct, Alexx continued forward.

Reaching Aurelia was no surprise to her. The hoots of the owl traced back to her. Chewing on her cheek, she held back the anger that threatened to rip apart every seam of her until there was nothing left. "Alright Kovacs, if I freak out and lose the rights to this badge, it was for a good cause, and I want you to tell everyone that." She whispered to the Hufflepuff, narrowing her eyes. She could not honestly stand the sight of Aurelia.

The problem with this predicament is that Aurelia knew everything about Alexx's history and Reid knew nothing. Not that she thought Reid would judge her- she didn't think that at all. But there were just some things better left unsaid. Alexx wasn't ready to come clean to Reid about who her family really was, just in case he was like Aurelia and had rough opinions on the past. She couldn't lose a friend right now. She was in too fragile of a state of mind and had been pushing her emotions down for a long time. The last thing that Alexx wanted was for her pride to crumble right here, right now. Aurelia had never been one to respect her wishes, but she sincerely hoped that the Gryffindor Prefect would keep her lips sealed and allow the two friends to move on with their lives.

What was even more confusing, though, was why Aurelia (as Alexx assumed) was in possesion of the pink ball of fluff. "Aurelia, you wouldn't happen to have a Pygmy Puff in your possession, would you?" She could only imagine how Aurelia would chastise her, and call her a "bad pet owner", or whatever it was that she would like to say. She could take that, just not "daughter of death eaters". Not in front of Reid.

When Alexx considered the fact that she had no reason to impress Reid Kovacs, she meant in terms of appearance, or even intelligence. Hell, Alexx didn't even care if Reid considered her a bad Prefect. But she did care if he remained her friend. She cared about friendships a lot. Something that could ruin them... Something that was already eating away at her... No. She simply wouldn't allow Aurelia to kick her while she was already down. And of course, this was what she was worried about, not Rosalie.

Reid always found it interesting to hear Alexx slip into her native language of French every now and then, but it often made him just as confused since he often didn't even get a translation for it. The young wizard sometimes would only smile and nod, too polite to ask her to tell him what exactly she meant. Part of him was curious of course, but he already knew he'd end up getting caught in a bit of a lecture of the language. While he appreciated how eloquent and pretty it sounded, he much rather skip the semantics of it for now.

He was still learning Hungarian from his dad after all, one language was enough. Unlike Alexx, he didn't really seem all there half the time and wasn't that hyper-aware of what his peers thought of him. Sometimes it was good and sometimes it was bad, ignorance was bliss and he seemed to have a lot of it to go around. What he did wasn't heavily dependent on his friends, but he'd go out of his way if he was asked to. It's just most of the time, he had been a rather solitary student of the school, except for now it seemed.

He let his friend drag him along, his ball tucked under his arm as he followed her. He arched his brow upwards, rather confused and almost a little defiant in what she said in regards to losing her position. Usually he was the one up to no good, why did she suddenly seem so offstandish around Aurelia. The girl was someone he really didn't have much contact with, if at all. He had saved her that one time at the lake and had been in a game with her at the friendly Quidditch match, which didn't entirely end up too friendly.

"Huh ..." A harsh breath cut through the brief silence that served as a pause in her dialogue, already calloused hands came up to rub his neck that gave an indication to his mild discomfort. "Alexx, I don't think you should get too hasty." he carefully suggested. His voice was a little more urgent than usual, not steel cut, but it harkened her attention. Her words didn't sound very Slytherin, if not more Gryffindor. He glanced between the two girls, frankly more than ready to stand between them if things got too much. Reid wasn't oblivious to the tension that hung in the air, especially with Alexx's tone.

He wasn't ready to delve into the origins of what caused whatever happened between them, but he would be ready to if in case. Reid often disapproved violence, despite the many times he's almost sometimes resorted to it. He didn't like seeing people get hurt, especially not his friend Alexx. There was no ill will that he bore towards Aurelia and he didn't let other people's disdain speak for him either, he sat, a clear mediator.

NOTICE:
Godmodding permission granted by Aurelia
The purpose for Godmodding: Aurelia is unable to reply to the thread, and this thread is relatively important to Alexx and Reid's friendship, so I was granted permission to godmod in order to wrap it up
Things took a turn in Alexx's favor that day. Aurelia did not put up a fight, and did not cause conflict between Alexx and Kovacs. For this, Alexx was grateful. She didn't trust the Gryffindor anymore than she did just a moment ago, though, even if she had spared her. Aurelia had, quite simply, returned the pet to Alexx and left, minding her own business. That went over a lot easier than Alexx thought it would.

Turning back to her friend, she sighed. "S-sorry... Er, I don't usually show my ass like that but..." She sighed, taking a long pause. She was back, momentarily, to being quiet and stuttering. She was back to old Alexx. The insecure, shy, nervous wreck of a girl that Reid had met the first time. It was embarrassing, to say the least. But Aurelia brought out her insecurities. It was weird for your family to be your greatest insecurity, but that was so. "Anyway. You never told me why your hood was making croaking noises?"

Just like that, she switched subjects. She didn't want to discuss her history with Aurelia with Reid. Not just yet. Perhaps someday, maybe even soon, he would unlock that side of her. The "tragic backstory" didn't just get handed out to everyone and anyone. It wasn't that she didn't trust him, it was just that she didn't know if now was the right time. If he were to ask, of course, she would tell him. But she didn't want to just bring it up. So, instead, she opted to ask of the croaking.

Her attention turned back to the little ball of pink fluff in her hands, realizing the two had yet to become acquainted. "Oh! This is Rosalie, by the way. The little demon herself. Probably thought she saw Scott and made a run for it. She really likes him. Wanna see her?" She offered her to him ever so slightly. Many people liked to pet or hold her, so she had grown accustomed to just straight up offering the furball to her friends.

Alexx really didn't mean to jump around so much when talking to him. Usually, she would be a lot more strict on her mannerisms. She would be more careful not to jump around. Her mother always taught her that sounding or looking eager was ugly and that she should have better manners than that. She grew up under the beliefs that showing too much excitement was a turnoff to people. Alexx didn't know how Reid felt about her, but she certainly was taking her chances in the eyes of her mother. Perhaps Reid did find her annoying? Perhaps he didn't like her at all, and her accidental spontaneous nature. She might be a pest in his eyes. She could feel her emotions caving in; she was shrinking into herself with pure doubt. All Alexx wanted was validation from other people. Reid had stuck around this long, but for how much longer after that? She should have trusted Reid better than that, but the presence of Aurelia shot her down hard.

Biting the inside of her cheek, she supposed that whether or not he hated her was up to Reid himself. The overwhelming fear and dread, of course, was killing her. Read had not done nor implied anything that would suggest that he disliked her, but Aurelia seemed to have a habit of shedding a negative light on the poor Slytherin, in a way that brought out all of her insecurities. At this rate, her biggest fear may as well be someone feeding her friends a Hate Potion, made for them to hate her. It was farfetched, and even she would admit that, but she feared, most of all, being alone again.

It was a terse exchange that he was happy to see end more cordially than his melodramatic imagination envisioned in his mind. Scully, his toad, had been croaking in his hoodie as if he was tired of Reid constantly jerking so abruptly. He spoiled his pet to no end if he was going to be honest. But he was happy to oblige Alexx and pull the lazy toad out to show to her.

"Rosalie is a pretty name, good choice." he commented, adjusting the toad. "This is who was croaking in my hoodie, I don't think you've met him before, but he's my toad. Scully." He seemed rather proud of him, it was hard not to be when he was happy with his toad's progress. Scully wasn't the most social creature, but it didn't run away from him as much as he did in the beginning. "Got a bad leg on this one, the man at the shop said he was sort of born like this. But I think he's a nice fellow."

To most, maybe he was very off putting, but to Reid, he thought of the world of his little reptilian friend. Just like Scully, he also thought of the world of his friends as well, Alexx was no exception to this rule. So even a mind like his own was able to pick up on the oddness for a brief few seconds, like a light briefly cutting through the thick gray clouds.

Reid didn't seem to pick up on it too heavily and brushed it off as his mind merely overthinking things. Still, he couldn't help but worry of wether Alexx was truly fine. "Hey Alexx, dun' mean to be nosy and all ... plus you don't need to answer me, but why were you so against Aurelia?" He set the toad on his head, who seemed to make himself at home in Reid's messy curls. What drove him to ask that was that he had never seen Alexx so vehement before, he had never seen Alexx get so upset in the first second.

He had made eye contact with her, wearing a skeptic's expression. "She's the last person I figured you'd argue with is all." Plus he subconsciously avoided Alexx the message that he entirely didn't care for her well being, when in reality, he did care a lot about his friends. The issue was that he was not a very good talker. But it was easy to wonder what garnered that reaction from her, plus Reid wondered if he needed to watch out for Aurelia now.

In two years, it feels like people have changed so drastically, maybe Aurelia did too - for better or for worse. It was fast approaching his next year and he couldn't help but wonder if things would change again. It wouldn't be so bad as long as he kept his friends.

i found a bit of time today to post. giving a bit of explanation to why Aurelia left. Allergies to Pygmypuff fur XD
Aurelia held the pink bundle of fluff arms length away from herself. The Gryffindor had never been so close to a Pygmy Puff before, she only knew that these animals were ridiculously priced at 25 galleons. Now that she had a close up view of the creature, she could not understand why it made such a attractive pet. To Aurelia, and perhaps Aspen as well, it simply looked like an exceptionally furry squirrel dyed bright pink.

All of a sudden, Aurelia let out a subtle sneeze, it wasn’t obnoxiously loud but rather one of a lady. Fur. For Aurelia, cat fur was the definition of the sneezing hex. A few moments later, another sneeze followed. Apparently, she was allergic to Pygmy Puff fur as well. She could feel her eyes becoming irritated by the second and wanted nothing more than to get as far away from the creature she held in her hands. The only problem was that the Pygmy Puff was most definitely a pet to someone. Aurelia could not just let it go and risk it being snatched up by another owl. Once again, Aurelia sneezed, this time into her sleeve. It was getting utterly annoying.

By chance, a figure with a head of pretty blonde hair bouncing behind her turned the corner. Aurelia recognised her immediately. The child of the Helms, the deatheaters who were supposedly one of those which targetted her the Schüttes during the second wizarding war. If it wasn’t for her Mother who had told her stories of her endeavours during the time of chaos, perhaps her view of Alexx would not be the same.

Another taller student followed behind the girl. Reid Kovacs. Unlike Alexx, Aurelia had nothing against Reid. He had saved her life once after all when they were in first year. She shouldn’t have been so stupid to wander around the Great Lake after curfew. At Alexx‘s words the Pygmy Puff seemed to squeal with delight, as if it had recognise the blonde’s voice. Turns out, Alexx was the creature’s very irresponsible owner. Once more, the inside of her nose tickled and she let out another light sneeze. After that Aurelia didn’t hesitate to hand the creature over. If she hadn’t been allergic, she would have given Alexx a hard time obtaining her pet back and teach the girl a lesson about being so careless. But she was, unfortunately.

Come on Aspen,” at her command, the large bird who was cawing loudly flew right on to her gloved hand. Turning around, Aurelia started down the hall.

Perking up at the compliment on her name choice for her friend, Alexx smiled at him. Her eyes cast down towards the reptile that he had presented to her, and a sort of spark ignited within her. Her eyes lit up and sparkled at the little beast, and she couldn't hold back the smile that was forming on her face. "Scully. Hello, Scully. You're a little cutie." She mused, running a soft finger against his head once or twice before retracting the digit. She looked back up to the human that possessed him, smiling at him. "He's brilliant!"

Alexx had almost chosen a toad. A toad or a rat. That was, at least, until she saw the Pygmy Puffs. They were particularly popular with the female portion of the student body, and that didn't surprise Alexx in the least. Pygmy Puffs were entertaining little creatures. She leaned towards creatures that didn't cause much trouble and were easy to maintain, as she didn't like the idea of being responsible for a mess that a cat or an owl could cause. However, she did find herself flying down the halls on behalf of Rosalie. Perhaps she did seem irresponsible, but Pygmy Puffs were fast and determined when they wanted to be. Besides that, Rosalie loved Scott, and any blonde headed Gryffindor could easily be mistaken for Alexx's friend.

Just when she thought the nightmare had ended, Reid spoke up again. Alexx tried to focus on the cuteness of Scully nestled in Reid's curls; it was damn near a renaissance painting. Reid's curls were a masterpiece within themselves, but adding the toad looked beautifully artistic and aesthetic. Focusing so much on this subtle movement was all that she could do to not go haywire. She didn't want to present herself negatively in front of her friend any more than she already had. So, instead, she focused on the things that brought her joy in this moment. That would be Scully amidst her friend's curls.

Finally, after a small moment of silence, Alexx spoke up. "Aurelia and I... We don't exactly see eye-to-eye. Aurelia knows things that... Eh, not many other people know. And so we've always been... Like this, I guess. And I think just then... I was a bit more afraid of her saying something about me to you that... That I would prefer you to hear from me. I don't exactly like the idea of my friends being involved." Alexx was sensitive about the topic. It was hard to discuss with people. No, that wasn't it. It was hard to discuss it with people that she liked.

However small the sentiments were, Alexx did appreciate it. It was nice to know that the incident that had just taken place had not changed the ways in which Reid viewed her. At least, she didn't think it did. "Who else would I argue with, though? A stuck-up, pompous Gryffindor girl who can't face reality and seems to think that she is the only one who has it hard? Seems like the perfect person for me to dislike. Especially when the target is always me." Her words came off a slightly irritated, but she wasn't upset with Reid for asking. She was just hurt that Aurelia couldn't face the truth. Her truth was different than Aurelia's, and she knew that, but if the Gryffindor girl would even care to just listen to Alexx and to try and learn more about Alexx's side of history, then perhaps this would have been over a year ago. But alas, Aurelia was stubborn. Alongside that, immature in the eyes of Alexx. That alone was enough to make her dislike her.

Alexx didn't have time for things that were useless to her. Baseless assumptions about Alexx's family, most of which people knew nothing about. There were good and honest people, such as Dymphna, who understood what it meant to be in Alexx's history. She supposed that the logs that contained the truth were buried somewhere, tucked away so that prying eyes would never see them again. So that people simply would not know the truth. And there were good alliances, such as the Bishop family, who were attempting to ensure that they would never face that sort of discrimination. But then there were people like Aurelia.

And perhaps Alexx should have not punched the Gryffindor girl- whatever her name was. She couldn't remember. But that was a long time ago. Alexx had moved past her days of physical violence. Aurelia hadn't moved on, though. Even if Alexx tried to. So here she stood, in front of her more than understanding Hufflepuff companion, looking sheepish. "I guess I'm not the most graceful person in terms of my attitude..."

Reid met her eyes as they walked, his hands holding the Pygmy Puff with deliberate care. "No, you're really not." he bluntly replied. Reid wore a very faint smile though when he said that to her. "But that's fine, not everyone can like everyone." He pet the small pink fluff in his hands a few times, caring for her as Scully had taken residence in his curls. It was roughly the later months of their third year and he certainly changed, especially in the way he talked.

Either it was that he had too much emotions or too little, which right now was the latter. He seemed calm, yet almost had a silent anxiety looming over him without reason. Every now and then, it reminded him that it was still there and it would be there for a while. He glanced at her as they rounded a corner, still hold the puff with ease. Quickly, he followed up, "I'm sorry for asking though, really, I am."

Words, words, words, Reid was trying to form the right way of how to say things. He wasn't the most emotionally in touch person at the school, he haphazardly stumbled his way through conversations like a disoriented soldier on a battlefield. He didn't know how to get to where he wanted to get, but he at least tried. Yet he tried not because he had to, but because he wanted to, they were his friends after all and they seemed to do the same for him.

"That stuff, it sounds hard to deal with, I mean - I wouldn't know, I don't know." It was clear that he lacked the finesse and the eloquence to properly convey what he was trying to get at, leading him to run his hand nervously though his hair. It was cut short by the toad, so he let it swing loosely as he held the puff in the other hand. "What I mean Alexx is if something is truly bothering you, I'm not that hard to reach is all. I don't have a lot of sense, but I try."
