island time?
Welp after doing all twelve prompts I might as well write out explanations for what (hopefully somebody) read
island time?
Task 1: Generating an idea
You know those stories of people who try and escape a fantasy land but there’s no real reason to want to escape? Like the fantasy land is arguably better than the world we’re living in so it makes so sense for someone to escape. Then there’s those very books where sure the magic and the royalty and court aspects sound find but they always get a little too adult. Well this story plans to fix both of those problems.
The main character wants to escape, and wants to lead others like her to escape (yes I also hate the trope of only Mary Sue getting sucked into the fantasy world and somehow no one else has gone there like ever). She’s also willing to do whatever it takes to better her people for if escape proves impossible or too unfeasible.
The story would be told by that form of third person with narration that blends in with the main character’s internal thoughts, because I find that the most fun to read in (because it gives the feeling of reading like a dairy or a first hand account).
Overall the story will follow multiple attempts of the main character trying to better her people in any way possible. I want to give the feeling of multiple stories in one by having there be moments of intensity and chapters of resolution in between. It’s more similar to life (and thus more relatable) that way and it will might feel like a tv series (which are ya know known for keeping people hooked).

island time?
Task 2, Part A: World Building
It’s an island where every living person, plant, or animal who has disappeared without a trace has turned up on. It works on a ring system where the outside of the island is the orders day, and the further you go in the older it gets. For the ocean it’s the reserve the further out you go the older it gets. Yes this does mean that there will be some dinosaurs, however not much because humans can’t breathe that air (so there would need to be magical means to enter there space).
The fey are also there. Why? Well there’s rumors the fey are the reason the entire place exists. There’s also rumors that a handful of fey got washed up and took over the entire place with their magically abilities. The humans don’t really know what happens because interaction with the fey are minimal, mostly because every fey seems to want to capture any humans they can. Each for their own reasons.
Some want to capture entertainers so they can watch human shows, others want to capture those they find beautiful to have as partners. However most want to capture a human for the sake of status, to show that they can. I’m also thinking of either human memories or emotions being a form of currency among the fey.
