The fall air was cool on Cassandra's face as she made her way out to the courtyard. She had decided to take a break from schoolwork, deciding instead to save it for the weekend, and decided that of all the places to go, the courtyard would be the best option. She had passed through a few times and had noticed that a number of people would hang out and around or simply pass through which is precisely why she thought it would be a perfect place to simply sit and sketch for a bit.

Cassandra's eyes scanned the courtyard for a decent place to sit before deciding she would just sit on of the worn benches. She adjusted her skirt and coat slightly before sitting and pulling out her sketchbook and a pencil set she had brought from home. Her eyes scanned the courtyard, watching as people passed by. Generally, when she would sit down to draw she would draw people who came in and out of her mother's flower shop. She had pages and pages worth of customers and flowers, sometimes of the same little old ladies who would come into the shop to simply speak with her mother. Here though, she hadn't had much luck sketching or finding people who would stay in one place long enough to sketch.

She flipped through her sketchbook looking at what she had drawn since coming to the school. A few pictures of trees, an owl, and a rough sketch of the sorting hat since she mostly had drawn it off of memory. She sighed slightly, looking around the courtyard for an idea of what to draw when her eyes landed on one of the griffin statutes that just seemed to beg to be drawn. She wondered how many other people had sat exactly where she had sat and drawn the same griffin, she figured there must have been at least a few who had. After all, from her understanding, Hogwarts had been around for a long time and a great many students had walked the halls so at least a few must have drawn this exact same griffin, or at least of the griffins in the courtyard.

Shaking her head slightly, she cleared her head of the thoughts before she went down a rabbit hole and focused on the griffin statue. Studying the statue slightly she started her sketch, the pencil gliding across the paper of her sketchbook as it had a million times before. Her red hair fell over her shoulders as she looked down at her sketchbook, her focus now entirely on the griffin statue and her sketch now.
