Lost PV Eric Kim Finished

It was not that common to see students in the dungeons, because who would...willingly go there? Aside from some short lived curiosity that was soon fulfilled and then everyone forgot about that place again and never set foot in it, unless they...were supposed to for who knows what reason.

So with that knowledge in mind, one might wonder, what in the tail of a hippogriph was Eric doing there? The answer was simple really. It was a mix of earlier mentioned curiosity, and his need for a quiet and silent place. Apparently the common rooms were not doing that enough so the dungeons it was. As he was moving around the corridors, using a parchment he marked to not get lost (he has been exploring this place for a bit by now), he bumped into someone out of nowhere. Ok that...that was not common. He thought he was the only one who was chosing this route.

A closer look though, and Eric figured out this was not a Hogwarts student. How even...Nope...nope..Don't ask questions you don't want the answer to. And yet...the curiosity was way too big here, especially for a kid that had yet to see how this situation even took place to begin with. "I would ask how you even got here but I guess you are lost?" Recently he has gotten a bit more out of his shell yes, but being...well...not as blunt or straightforward was still a work in progress to call it nicely. Introductions were not even made but well, Eric was a practical person.Even though the way he said it kind of hinted that this was not the first time this situation would happen, or that he would come across something like this (even though this was definitely not as often as he made it seem)

Apparently the boy hadn't heard what Mateo had said, since he did indeed say that he was lost, but Mateo simply nodded at the boys words before saying,
"Yes, I am lost. I'm pretty sure I said that too. As you can tell, i'm not from here, and have no idea how I got here. What even is this place?"

Mateo hadn't looked around his surroundings yet, but when he finally did, he saw many different cells, some with seats, some without. Chains on the walls and rat bones on the ground which made him shiver slightly.

Mateo had no idea that this was how the Dungeons of Hogwarts looks like, but then again, no one really comes down here, hence is why it looks like this.

"Oh, I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Mateo Yamamoto, a second year at Mahoutokoro and a quidditch player in the position of Chaser," Mateo says finally realizing he had forgotten to introduce himself to the boy.

But who could blame him when he's in a place like this and has no idea where he is? Now he knows why his childhood friend hadn't taken him down here, because this place really isn't pretty, nor is it a place for a foreigner to see, but oh well, Mateo is here now, and hopefully, with the help of the boy, he can find his way back to the entrance hall.

To be fair, he was a bit lost in thought prior to Mateo repeating what he said initially, which may just as well have been why he didn't catch onto that immediately. He followed Mateo's gaze with his own to the chains and cells, before listening to what the other boy said. "Dungeons. You are in the dungeons.Though really they are more so abandoned, and are sometimes used as a quiet space...at least I use it like that." Eric answered all calmly here as if it was just another usual day without anything odd about it. Yeah...completely normal. Point was, Mateo needed help to get out of here so...may as well focus on that first.

"I am Eric Kim." he added eventually as the other kid introduced himself. Quidditch player huh... "How is it? Quidditch I mean...I am thinking of joining in as well..either that or broom racing" He could...lead the way back yes...and he even made an attempt to start walking towards more known corridors and less...grim...view. But in the same time, may as well get to know Mateo a bit, especially as the earlier mention of Quidditch did seem to pique Eric's interest slightly. Still Eric also didn't want to seem like he was keeping them both here much longer, so he just started the way back, though his pace was quite slow, as if to allow for some time for discussion while at it. "Also shall we start to get out of here? Unless you want to stay more and sight-see."

Hearing the boy answer his first question, Mateo now knew he was in the Dungeons of Hogwarts. How in earth did he not know that before? He mentally face palmed because of the fact that he didn't realize he was in the Dungeons of Hogwarts.
"Oh, ok. What are those chains for?" Mateo asks, since he had no idea why there would be chains down here. No one got chained, did they?

After Mateo had introduced himself, he heard the boy introduce himself as well. He then heard Eric ask him a question. As he was about to answer Eric's question, Mateo saw Eric start to slowly walk towards some of the more known corridors, so Mateo began to follow him as he said,
"Quidditch is a great sport. Both my parents are professional players. I had my first official game during the summer, and we won. I didn't really do much, but it was still amazing. I helped our seeker find the snitch, didn't really get to touch the quaffle tho,"

After Mateo explained a bit about his first official game, he heard Eric speak again, asking if he wanted to leave or do some more sight-seeing. Mateo looked around again and shook his head as he said,
"No, it's ok. I think I've seen enough. Let's go,"

He did seem to think about the first question for a bit. To be fair he has never seen them used...not that he really was curious enough (or cared enough) to check every cell and see if anyone or anything was indeed locked up in there and thus had the chains. Common sense would say the things were used to keep whoever was in there immobilized. But then again, these could be enchanted with something else that would give them an extra use. "I guess for keeping whatever is here, here. Not like I saw them be used, but they may be enchanted to have some other extra use for. I wouldn't want to learn how they work though."

As they continued their walk on the corridors he listened to what Mateo said about Quidditch. "It definitely sounds interesting. Have yet to watch a match, and I want to someday make it in a team, either that or do broom racing. Must be cool to have your parents be professional players though, you can have professional advice be given." He couldn't relate to that. Even if his parents were in such a domain (which they weren't really), they would still mostly encourage him to learn it all by himself and not take "shortcuts".

As much as he delayed the way back though, it was clear at some point they had to reach the more common corridors and it was beginning to be quite obvious by the difference in people starting to be more visible wandering around most likely with a reason to go to some place of the school. "I will take you to the entrance to the school just in case you get lost from here on, but from now on try...not to reach the dungeons again. Not that it is that bad, but with how "often" that part is visited even by people who have reason to be there, you may as well move there." Maybe he didn't make it sound as...good as he intended it. As it really sounded that...oh yeah it's not THAT bad..only that you will basically live there and most likely die there. Yeah...nothing bad at all...though to be fair on Eric here that was not really his intention in what he meant. More like...a warning of sorts? Yeah...warning in a good way. Mhm. He just worded it a bit...odd.

As Mateo was waiting for Eric to reply to his first question, Mateo began thinking about possible reasons why the chains were there and what they were used for. When he heard the younger boy speak, Mateo pulled himself out of his thoughts to listen to what Eric has to say before Mateo said,
"But, what could be down here? What if nothing actually is down here. They could be enchanted though. Or maybe they were used as a type of punishment for those students that were in detention a long time ago?"

Basically, Mateo was just saying questions again, but he didn't mean to. He basically just spoke his thoughts out loud and they happened to all be in question form. As they continued walking, Mateo heard Eric speak again. Mateo listened carefully to what the boy had to say and couldn't help but agree and so he said,
"Quidditch matches are amazing to watch, but, for me, they feel even better being played. Broom racing is nice too, not gonna lie. Honestly, if I didn't make it on the team, I would've chosen broom racing. It is nice, I get to watch all their games. They taught me how to ride my broom and the basics of Quidditch, I mostly played with my friends back home though. My parents never really did give me any professional advice, maybe I'll ask them for some one day,"

As they were walking, Mateo noticed that they were almost near some common corridors, since he saw a few sights of people. Mateo made a mental note to never set foot in the dungeon again, since he didn't want to get lost, nor get in trouble if he got caught. Mateo didn't really need a mental note, since Eric had given him a rather odd warning.

"Ah, thanks, I probably will get lost here. I'll keep that in mind. I really don't want to live there, I need to get back to Mahoutokoro, y'know. I'll probably ask my friend for a map of this school, since she goes here, maybe you'll see her around," Mateo says as he continued to follow the first year back towards the entrance.

"I would rather like to think that the school didn't imprison and chain students just for detention. Maybe for something worse. Then again I didn't really explore the place much aside from some parts that are just quiet corridors where I can avoid being bothered while I study."Brushing over the fact that he was STUDYING in a DUNGEON, as if that would be the most normal thing ever. "Biggest guess it that they were used for whoever did something unforgivable. Before they would be taken to Azkaban that is." It was as wild of a guess as any, and whether he meant the unforgivable curses specifically or not was also debatable.

The chatter of other students, as well as lively atmosphere started to be more and more obvious as they went through a set of corridors leading to the courtyard as Eric continued to what Mateo was saying. "I'll have to go to at least see one match, but all the luck to you if you ever want to make it professionally. The most I heard of Quidditch is that as interesting as it is, it is also among the more dangerous of sports, though I guess what is the purpose in it being fun if there is no thrill like this." He continued on his way, letting Mateo follow, through the courtyard before eventually reaching what would most likely be more known grounds even for someone from outside of Hogwarts. As they reached the entrance though he turned a bit towards Mateo again. "Well guess that's enough exploring the castle grounds for today...since you have a friend here a good idea is to go around Hogwarts with her since she likely knows the place and you won't get lost." That being said he was visibly alright with helping up till now and even now, after all, the least he hoped that if he were in such a situation himself if Eric ever found himself in such a pickle, he would have someone to lead him back as well.

"I would also rather think that, but who knows what the caretaker or the headmaster was like back then. The people that study down here must be brave people. I mean, I'm brave, but I couldn't be seen studying down here, lost down here yes, studying, no, maybe a secret room, but definitely not here. Oh, that could also be a possibility. Maybe the students that did something unforgivable got questioned while they were chained down here before they get sent to the wizarding prison. I wonder what Mahoutokoro dungeons were used for," Mateo says responding to what Eric had said, and basically, Mateo was agreeing to what the younger boy was saying, but he was also adding his own thoughts as well.

Soon Mateo was able to hear voices from students and he knew that they were out of the dungeons by now. Especially since Mateo saw more and more people walking around the corridors. Mateo heard Eric respond to what he had said about Quidditch, Mateo listened to the younger boy's opinion before he said,
"Thanks! Maybe you should go and see your house's match? The fall sports are happening soon here, right? Your right, Quidditch is indeed dangerous, but it's also fun. And the part of it being dangerous is the best, until you get sent to the hospital by someone on the opposite team, then that's not good, but then that's telling you that you gotta practice more,"

Mateo continued to follow Eric through the corridors of the courtyard and once he saw the familiar grounds, he was glad that he knew for sure he was safe and sound. Hearing Eric speak again, Mateo listened before saying,
"Right, thanks for the help, Eric! I'll be sure to stick with her from now on. It was great talking to you too! Good luck with joining either Quidditch or Broom Racing!"
After waving goodbye to the younger student, Mateo went off by himself, since he now knew where he was going and he went to go find Tracey and perhaps find Tiger first, who'll lead him to Tracey, or maybe both.

He heard about the fall games, and with how much chatter about them there was around, one had to live under a rock to not really know about them. That being said he was not a person to quite up and about go to such events. Though a Quidditch match did not sound too bad. Plus he could learn from it, or well at the very least see how it is in action.

"I'll check the fall sports out. Heard there is duelling going on for now, but Quidditch or broom racing is bound to happen as well sometime." As they reached the courtyard and closer to the exit he waved goodbye to the Mahoutokoro student watching as he left towards who knows where. Well as long as the boy was not getting himself into the dungeons again, Eric was content with that much. Plus he did his due diligence to help him, if at this point Mateo was getting lost again, at least Eric was not feeling responsible for it. Better yet, Eric started heading to the common rooms, he had some stuff to pick up from there anyways.

Overall this first encounter with a student from outside of Hogwarts, as unexpected as it was, was not too bad. On the contrary, they had something to talk about that seemed to interest both of them on the way out, and overall the atmosphere was quite good. But well, at least in the near future Eric could think of from now on, they will go on their separate way for now. Maybe they'll meet again though. It would be interesting if we met during a Quidditch match or something he thought.
