@Charlotte Cadunt @Alyssa Warren @Mac Murphy @Amaya Jackson @Telle Dune
ReducioOOC: hey guys! this is a surprise party for Tatiana, so everyone’s gonna show up w/ their gifts and then Tatiana with be surprised lol! i can’t wait
Maggie stood on her tip-toes, one of her hands placed on the almost ethereal willow tree she was hanging the lights off of. The fairy lights in her hand had a cool glow, making the willow tree light up with tiny dots as Maggie struggled to attach one end of the lights to a branch. She’d picked out the perfect spot for Tatiana’s birthday party: a small clearing that was laid between a grove of trees, laid right by the Great Lake. Maggie had been stringing fairy lights between the boughs of said trees, and she had to say, her handiwork was stellar. They were strewn between the trees in a pentagon, making a kind-of border that enclosed the space. Maggie had also brought out a collection of blankets, and had laid them out on the grass. She’d brought a table, covered it with a tablecloth, and set her gift for Tatiana on there, which would soon be accompanied by many more. Knowing that Tatiana was a Half-Blood, Maggie had set out some common Muggle and wizard games such as Clue, Exploding Snap, and a beaten up Wizard’s Chess set that she’d found in the Gryffindor common room. Another table had snacks laid out on it, with things like chips and a bowl of punch, and a light blue cake decorated with tiny navy and gold flowers lining the edges was sat in the middle of the table. Maggie grinned, she couldn’t wait for Tatiana to see this!

Surprise!
✧✧Charlotte had received yet another invitation from her dear cousin, about yet another party. She chuckled as she opened it, eager to know more about what Maggie had prepared for them.
To her surprise, the letter was actually inviting Charlotte to a party her cousin had organised for Tatiana, a friend of theirs, specially for her birthday. She smiled as she read the letter once more, impatient to go.
Then it hit her. What was she going to get her? Charlotte stared into the light morning sky, desperately trying to find something she could offer. After all, she could always head to Diagon Alley to get her a book, or perhaps some clothes…
She got up from her comfortable couch near the chimney and ran to her dormitory. Pulling her trunk from under her bed, she rapidly opened it, seizing her faded pink wallet. She shook all her coins out of it and onto her palm before counting them slowly. Oh no. She could barely afford a butterbeer with the little money she had left. God, what on earth was she going to do…
Her eyes drifted off to her now opened trunk, laying on the floor, as if looking for something. Suddenly, she saw it. It was a small notebook. It's midnight blue cover contrasted perfectly with the silver letters that read 'La beauté du quotidien'. She grabbed it, delicately opening it, only to see it was completely empty. It came from a magical antique shop in the heart of Paris, where Charlotte had ventured on a hot afternoon of August, a few coins in her hand. This notebook immediately caught her attention, and the descriptive sign read
'Tell me about your day and let me help you see the beauty in the smallest, most discreet things'
Intrigued, she bought it before asking the old woman at the desk what it really was.
'It will simply get your spirits up on a wistful day, or make you feel glad about an awesome day you would have. It's like a friend you can take everywhere with you. Write, and it'll answer. It's just like magic'
she said as she winked.
A friend you could tell anything to, a friend that would always be there. She didn't really know why she had bought it, but the second she got home, she couldn't muster up the courage to write on those immaculate pages. It has been sitting in the corner of her room, patiently waiting for someone to pour their thoughts and emotions until the day Charlotte put it in her trunk, decided to use it once at Hogwarts.
She smiled as she looked at it, hoping it would suit Tatiana. The pages were of a silvery-white, a dark blue flower drawn in each of the corners. Standing up, she put it on her bedside table to make sure she wouldn't accidentally misplace it.
A few days went by and Tatiana's birthday was to be celebrated. Charlotte wrapped the notebook in some golden paper, tied with a light pink satin ribbon before heading out the door, into the common room, and eventually on the school grounds. She walked towards the designated place, a few birds chirping on this start of July afternoon. The mountains overlooking the grounds were lit up by the same golden light that reflected on the glass-like surface of the lake. Charlotte walked calmly, barely able to contain her excitement as she held her neatly wrapped up notebook.
Finally she saw it, the tree-surrounded clearance, where Maggie had already set up quite the decor. A few fairy-lights were going from branch to branch, giving the whole space a warm, golden atmosphere. Charlotte smiled as she walked closer and closer, getting more impatient by the minute.
She hugged her cousin warmly
'That's such a good idea you had here! You're really the queen of parties, huh?'
she said as she pulled away gently, setting her present right next to Maggie's one.
'Can't wait for her to get here, I hope she's gonna like it!'

Surprise!
Mac was in from the very first mention of a birthday party. His excitement was nearly palpable as he ran down to the Great Lake, determined not to be late for yet another outing. The site of the party was anything but hard to find; Maggie had outdone herself with the decorating. It was a small clearing, surrounded by trees decked out in fairy lights, though they were hardly needed at the moment, given the time of day. Still, they made for a beautiful sight. The trees formed a canopy of leaves and branches overhead, casting shadows over the small table that Maggie had (presumably) brought along with her, which was currently done up in a colorful tablecloth. Mac stepped into this clearing with his gift in hand. It was a small box, adorned with a royal blue ribbon and decorated in novelty Ravenclaw wrapping paper.
"Hello, you two," he said with a smile to the others as he approached the table, setting his present alongside the others. Charlotte and Maggie were the only ones there at the moment. Was he actually early for once? He looked around with a nervous, giddy smile on his face, shifting his weight from one foot to the other. "Oh, this is just beautiful, Maggie! She's gonna love it, just you watch."

Sorry it took me a few days to reply! It was my real birthday ooc and my partner took some vacation time off. And sorry it's a little long!
[quote]
It was still early evening as Tatiana wandered the halls of the castle, passing the time before she was supposed to meet with her friend. Maggie, the lively Gryffindor girl she'd been lucky enough to befriend in her first year, had owled her earlier that day to ask if she'd wanted to hang out on the grounds later on. This was pretty common for the pair, especially now that it was summer break and they finally had some relief from their busy class schedules. But Tatiana couldn't help but think about the only thing that made that day different from the others.
And it wasn't anything big- truly insignificant, really. In fact, she found herself shaking her head as she walked, embarrassed that the thought had even crossed her mind at all. I mean, it was just a birthday, after all. Everyone had them. And sure, maybe today was hers, but the occasion always made her feel a little... ashamed? Maybe that wasn't the right word. But Tatiana wasn't big on being the center of attention, and choosing to celebrate your day of birth always meant agreeing to let groups of people focus solely on you- it made Tatiana flush just thinking about it.
She usually spent the personal holiday happy and alone at home- well, with her parents. But that was the way she liked it. They'd cook her favorite dishes and spend the evening playing various games or binging their favorite Muggle movies. Sometimes, if the weather was nice, they'd have their dinner on a blanket on the cliff outside their home and watch the sun fall over the sea. It was low pressure and minimal exposure to being the center of attention. And while she enjoyed gifting things to other people, especially those she cared about, getting gifts always made her feel a little guilty- but that was just in her nature.
Before she knew it, almost an hour had passed as her feet dragged her aimlessly through the corridors, taking over as her mind was busy elsewhere. In a flustered and panicked motion, she pulled the small watch from her pocket- she was running late. Barely a few minutes had passed the time when she told Maggie she would meet her, but obsessive punctuality was one of Tatiana's painstakingly annoying flaws. Well, maybe not a flaw, but still occasionally bothersome. Turning on her heels, she made off in the opposite direction with a quickened pace.
Luckily, she had meandered around in circles long enough that she wasn't very far from their agreed upon meeting spot. As her feet reached the grounds, she slowed her strides as she headed along the side of the lake. If nothing else, she could say she was at least grateful to Maggie for getting her outside so often. Their times together had been spent almost exclusively outdoors, especially as of late, and it was a nice hiatus from her long days spent in the stuffy library.
Tatiana had barely lifted her eyes from the ground as she turned around a corner into a grove of trees and into a clearing nestled along the lake. After coming to almost a complete halt, her steps were slow as she took in Maggie's apparent surprise. In front of her, there was a table, topped with a cake, snacks, and an assortment of games. The space was just beginning to glow under the rapidly setting sun as string lights had been hung between the branches of the trees. Standing in the middle of it all was a few of her friends- Maggie, of course, but also Charlotte and Mac.
"But how-," Tatiana stammered, pausing to look around. She hadn't told anyone when her birthday was, at least not that she'd remembered anyway, and was truly surprised at Maggie's gesture. With her birthday always falling smack dab in the middle of summer, she was used to her friends being busy with holiday plans or back home for break. But the generous, fun-loving Gryffindor had outdone herself- again. "I don't even know what to say," she blushed, wringing her hands together. "Wow, uhm... thank you guys so much," she shuffled her feet nervously, tucking her hair behind her ear, just a tad embarrassed. But she was looking toward each of them full of gratitude. How could she have been so lucky as to stumble into such kind people her first year!

Surprise!
@Tatiana Crane @Mac Murphy @Charlotte CaduntMaggie grinned, a surge of pride rising in her chest as Tatiana arrived. “Well, it is your birthday!” Maggie laughed, “You can’t expect to get away that easy while you’re friends with Maggie Parker.” she joked, though it was true. Throwing parties was her thing, and not one of her friends was going to get away with hiding their birthday from her. “I thought you’d like it if your party was more, y’know, chill, than the usual birthday party.” she said, walking over to the blanket, where she sat and patted the ground next to her. “Do you want to open presents first, play a game, or eat cake? This is an important question, Tatiana, a very hard decision.” she joked, laughing. She was excited for Tatiana to open her gift: Maggie had made sure it was something she’d like. Tatiana was probably her closest friend at this point, and she’d gotten her a gift that was fitting. Knowing the girl’s love for herbology, she’d gotten her something she’d hopefully recognize: a camera. However, it had been enchanted to identify the plant that had been taken a picture of, and it would print out the name of it along with the picture. Maggie had found it in a small shop in Diagon Alley, and she had immediately thought of Tatiana. Plus, it was able to switch back to Polaroid mode, and the little cards were enchanted to never run out. In addition to this, she packed a few seeds in the bag, and a dark brown leather case for the Polaroid with navy blue accents. It was packed into a tan bag, with white tissue paper sticking out of it, and Maggie had written her friend a card as well.

Surprise!
✧
✧Charlotte's heart began to beat faster as she saw Tatiana arrive, and big warm smile spread over her face. She loved giving presents, and she really hoped that she was going to like hers. Maggie's present intrigued her quite a bit and she couldn't wait for Tatiana to open them. What did Mac get her? Well, she actually was intrigued by all the presents.
"Wow, uhm... thank you guys so much,"
Charlotte chukled at her reaction, seeing that she obviously had no clue Maggie was going to set up yet another party.
'Happy birthday!'
she said, with a sweet smile on her face.
The tiny little lights Maggie had hung up slowly started shing brighter, filling the whole space with a warm golden light. The blankets on the floor seemed even more comfortable than her own bed as she sat down, her legs crossed under her, becoming more and more impatient.
'I say you should open the presents first, don't you think?'
she said, visibly eager to find out what the others had gotten her.
She bit her lip as she smiled, wondering if Tatiana would like what she had gotten her. What if she does't like it? Charlotte hoped she would be able to see Tatiana's genuine expression once she opens it...

Sorry, I only reacted to Charlotte's because I don't know what are in the other two boxes!
Of course Maggie would know about her birthday, it was foolish to think she could keep a secret from her. "It's absolutely perfect," she told her, still looking around at all the decorations. Maggie took a seat on the blanket she'd placed on the ground and motioned Tatiana to join her. "Do you want to open presents first, play a game, or eat cake? This is an important question, Tatiana, a very hard decision," she joked. Hmmmm, Tatiana thought.
Charlotte smiled sweetly as she wished her a happy birthday and joined them on the blanket. "I say you should open the presents first, don't you think?" she suggested. Just happy to be there, Tatiana had hardly noticed the presents on the table. "You guys shouldn't have, really," she blushed, covering her face. "But that sounds like a great idea!" Grinning ear to ear, she stood up and retrieved the packages from the table and returned to the blanket, eager to see what they had gotten her.
Intrigued by the beautiful wrapping, Tatiana was immediately drawn to Charlotte's present and decided to open it first. It was covered in bright golden paper and adorned with a pastel pink ribbon. Carefully untying it and removing the paper, mindful to not rip it to shreds from anticipation, her mouth fell open at what she found inside. It was a small book with a dark blue cover with delicate silver writing on the front in French. As she opened it up, the pages were completely blank, aside from a pretty little flower printed on each corner. Stunned, she turned, beaming up at the Hufflepuff girl. "Wow, this is absolutely... stunning. Thank you so much Charlotte!" She didn't know her all the well, but it meant a great deal to Tatiana that she'd chosen such a lovely gift for her. With her own sketchbook quickly filling up, she swore she'd cover each of the immaculate pages with as many beautiful sketches and drawings as she could imagine!
