Kelpie Cavern Cabin Private

As per her and Maggie's suggestions, the group had decided it would be best to split up between boys and girls. Thankfully, they were staying in their original room and didn't have to move their things again. Tatiana waited patiently as the guys took their trunks and moved into the cabin next door, moving back across the small room to sit on the bottom bunk of her and Maggie's bed. She heard Maggie's body fall back on the, according to the sound it made, incredibly stiff mattress. They were waiting for their other cabin mates to join, as Maggie also invited their mutual Hufflepuff friend, Charlotte, and another girl Tatiana had yet to meet.

To pass the time, the two girls began some early planning. Maggie, being aware of Tatiana's own artistic background, started offering up ideas for a team logo, or possible cabin artwork. Her mouth turned up into a wide grin at her proposal. "That would be awesome!" she agreed, excited for both the recognition and the opportunity. "When the other girls get here, we can ask them if they have any ideas and I'll see what I can do." Too caught up in her own thoughts of how they could decorate their space to make it more roomy for the summer, she'd completely forgotten Maggie was trying to think of a name as well.

"Hmmm," she thought, trailing off as she leaned back on to the bed, lacing her fingers behind her head. "I wouldn't consider myself particularly clever," she laughed. "Maybe something like.... Kelpie Cavern?" She wasn't very good at word play, but she'd read about the creature in her textbooks and it seemed appropriate, with their dorms being a boat on the water. A kelpie was a dangerous, shapeshifting water demon and a formidable opponent- just as they would be in the cabin prank war. Mac would probably have a much cooler idea, she mused, him being Maggie's designated 'magizoologist extraordinaire' and all.

Carson rapped his knuckles against the door of “Kelpie Cavern”, as the girls had named it. Damn, Carson thought, our name sucks, compared to theirs. Carson shrugged, it was his idea anyways, and he couldn’t really offend himself. “Dragon’s Den” wasn’t a horrible name, it was just that “Kelpie Cavern” was much, much better. Carson opened the door to find Tatiana and Maggie lounging around, Maggie on the top bunk next to the wall they shared and Tatiana sitting on a bottom bunk. He grinned, still holding the lollipop between his teeth from earlier. “Hey, do either of you know when we’re heading down to the barbecue?” he asked, leaning against the doorframe as he spoke. He still held the tennis ball in one hand, and he threw it between his hands as he spoke, occasionally bouncing it off of the floor and catching it. “Also, do you guys wanna go head down to the lake? I heard it’s actually pretty cool.” he said, though he couldn’t help but recall the soggy chip he’d been forced to eat at Maggie’s party. “Everytime someone mentions the lake, I keep thinking about that soggy chip Christopher Madson made me eat at Maggie’s party... I’m looking to change that.” he said, wincing as he recalled the fond, but disgusting memory. “Anyways,” he said, realizing he was off topic, “You guys in?”

Maggie grinned at Carson, swimming in the lake sounded like a great idea! “Totally!” she said, jumping down from her top bunk and landing on her rusty old trunk, which rattled a little when she made contact with it. She quickly grabbed a swimsuit from the top, but before she could leave to go to one of the bathrooms, a familiar face made its way through the door. “Hey Charlotte!” Maggie greeted her cousin, “You wanna head down to the lake with us?” she asked eagerly. Charlotte had taken the other bottom bunk, leaving the remaining top bunk for Ziba. Maggie frowned, Ziba still hadn’t shown up yet... where was she? Maggie shrugged and said to Charlotte and Tatiana, “Carson and I will be at the lake until the barbecue starts, so if you want to meet us down there, you guys are more than welcome.” she made her way to the doorframe where Carson stood, giving her friends a mock salute, “See you guys!”. She quickly intercepted the tennis ball Carson was bouncing off the floor, immediately running down the hall and laughing like a madman. Footsteps pounded behind her, laughter filling up the hallways of the ship.

Just as Carson stopped by their dorm to ask about swimming plans, Charlotte was finally arriving. Tatiana smiled warmly and greeted her as she sat her things down and claimed the bottom bed of the vacant bunk. Maggie seemed very excited about Carson's idea, and was changed and rushing out the door in a flurry. Swimming did seem like a great idea. It was the middle of another beautiful, sunny, sweltering summer day and a dip in the lake sounded like the perfect activity. Carson asked if they'd be joining him and Maggie, and nodding in his direction, Tatiana added, "Sounds perfect! I'll just meet you guys down there in a minute." And before she could finish, Maggie was running out the room past Carson, snatching his tennis ball on the way.

Sliding off her bed, she walked over to her trunk, which was awkwardly placed in the middle of the room. "Sorry," she said to Charlotte, shuffling to make room for her things and moved it out of the way, sliding it closer to her own bunk. She opened the lid and pulled out a few things she'd need before she joined everyone outside. A change of clothes, a pair of sandals, a towel, sunglasses, and a book- just in case. While actually getting in the water was the plan, she wanted to make sure she was prepared to just sit out on the beach as well. She wasn't totally sold yet on swimming, but some sun would do her good. With the exception of Maggie's party, she'd hardly gotten outside in the past few weeks.

Quickly changing into her suit, she packed some miscellaneous items into a small shoulder bag and turned to Charlotte. "Did you want to join us for a swim? I can wait for you if you'd like."

Min-seo carried her bag across the grounds. She'd be staying for about two weeks here. She was excited. She was part of the cabin, Kelpie Cavern. She thought the name was pretty cool! She had never been to a summer camp before, so this would be quite interesting. She took a breath and opened the cabin door. It seemed that everyone had already arrived. She took the top bunk and threw all of her stuff onto the bed. It seemed she was on Charlotte's bunkbed. She smiled and waved in her direction. She climbed onto the bed and hung fairy lights on the wall. (OOC: Guess who actually did that at her camp :3) It seemed everyone was still down at the lake. She unpacked everything and laid down on the somewhat stiff bed. At least they weren't sleeping on the floor. It was a really nice day, and people were all greeting each other at the other cabins and planning what they were doing. Min-seo hummed softly as she unpacked her bathing suit to go down to the lake with everyone so she could say hi. She put her hair up in a ponytail and climbed down from the bunk to put her sandals on, and they were black with a little daisy clipped onto the tops.

~time skip to that evening~

Maggie walked back into her cabin, her hair soaking wet from the shower she’d just taken. She wore a comfy set of pajamas, but it was basically just an extremely oversized black hoodie with red athletic shorts. She’d noticed how Min-see had hung fairy lights on her wall, and she smiled at the pretty decorations. They’d have to do something to the whole cabin: the things was painfully bare, and Maggie’s bunk was not helping. She climbed up to her bed, stretching as she yawned loudly. She however, didn’t really feel tired. An idea sprung into her mind as she observed the other girls walk in, all dressed in pajamas as well. She quickly jumped down from her bunk, landing onto her old, dusty trunk with a loud thump, and asked the group, “Do you guys want to play a game or something? Or we can just talk. It’s just— I’m not tired like, at all and there’s no use in just laying there.” she’d tried it before: spoiler alert, it never worked. At least for Maggie, that is. Plus, she was eager to get to know the other girls better, even if she knew them pretty well, and she kind of had to get some things off her chest.

Tatiana leaned on the handle as she turned off the stream of cool water falling over her, dragging her feet as she got out the shower. Though she wasn't really tired, her body felt heavy with exhaustion, as too many hours in the sun often made her feel. After spending their first day of camp out on the lake, they had finally headed back to their dorm boat. Freshly clean, she pulled on a light blue pajama set, consisting of a striped cotton short sleeve button up and matching shorts, and made her way back down the hall to their cabin. By the time she arrived, Maggie was already showered and sitting in her bed.

After neatly placing her clothes from the day away, she slumped into her own rough mattress. As the other girls came in shortly after, it wasn't long before Maggie was offering up new ideas for the night's festivities. She suggested playing more games, or talking. Was that a hint of exasperation in her voice? Tatiana thought she seemed a little uncertain about something, but she wasn't sure what. Maybe she needed someone to listen, and lucky for her, that was Tatiana's specialty. "I'm not sure about a game, but I wouldn't mind staying up and talking," she offered, shifting to sit at the edge of her bed. Besides, talking, sharing secrets, gossiping- it all seemed rather appropriate for a girl's sleepover.
