Alone At Breakfast
Wren sat down to the Ravenclaw table and watched delightedly as delicious food appeared magically across the center of it. Piling a few tasty looking dishes onto her plate, Wren felt a tinge of loneliness. Back at home in Florida, school meals were the prime time for socializing, talking to friends, and having a good laugh. Though Wren had spoken to a few other first years, she still didn't have a group to sit with at breakfast or lunch. Going up to someone and asking to sit with them was out of the question- Wren was way too introverted for that.
As she sat working diligently on her eggs, an unfamiliar yet beautiful tawny owl flew up to her plate with a letter tied to its leg. Untying it, she saw that it was from her parents. That granted a smile. She loved to hear from them. Today's letter was short.

Wren folded the letter and placed it in her pocket. Satisfied, the owl flew back out through the window. Wren wondered how she should respond to the letter. Should she tell her mother how it really was? The truth was, she didn't really have any friends right now, but she didn't want to worry her mother. She decided to worry about it later, and went back to her eggs, toast, and pumpkin juice.Dear Wren,
I went down to Diagon alley today for some more Floo Powder and came back with an owl! Your father was less than pleased, but I figure sending you letters with our own owl will eventually cost less in the long run. How are you? How is school? I do hope you're making friends. I'll write again soon. Stay in touch!
Love,
Mom

Alone At Breakfast
Ema strode in to the great hall, confidence oozing out of her. Not because she had an abundance of friends, more because she was extroverted. Ema stared at the Ravenclaw table, taking in the long benches and tables. She spotted the girl she had talked to before, and saw she had a nice group of friends. She decided against sitting with her. Ema groaned, her best friend was in Slytherin so she was not permitted to sit with her.
Ema kept looking until a tawny owl swooped down, she screeched a little as it swooped unexpectedly. She quickly composed herself, watching the owl fly down to a girl on the Raven claw table. She was vaguely familiar, Ema remembered watching her get sorted as well as spotting her from across the common room. The girl received a small letter, and Ema watched as she folded up, returning gloomily to her meal.
Ema decided to sit with her, the girl looked sweet enough, and she wanted to make a new friend. Ema flicked back her short brown hair, walking towards were the girl sat. When she got there, she sat down on the wooden bench, directly beside the girl.
"Hello, I'm Ema." She smiled to the girl, then started to load her plate with food, "What's your name?"

Alone At Breakfast
Andy walked in breakfast and smelled the bacon, eggs, potatoes and a lot of foods that he loved. He took a plate from a big pile and piled his plate. He thought, What should I eat today? Well maybe something that has to do with fall... pumpkin juice... yeah! Oh! And you cant forget the breakfast sausages! Andy piled as much as the little golden plate can hold and sat in a open seat in the Ravenclaw table. As he ate, more and more people gathered. He noticed two girls talking. He walked up to them and greeted them. Hello there! I am Andy! nice day isn't it? I cant wait for it to be night and I could eat serve of the steak they serve at dinner. Andy looked at the girls. You guys are in Ravenclaw too? Same with me! He picked up his cup of pumpkin juice and took a huge gulp of it. Nothing like a huge cup of pumpkin juice to start the October day! You guys are first years! I'm a second year, so I can show you guys around! Do you like it here? Well I certainly do! A owl dropped a scroll on the table in front of Andy. It was from his parents. He unfolded it and read it carefully. This was the first time he heard a word from his parents since he departed from the Hogwarts express a month ago.
Andy finished reading the letter and quickly tucked it into his robes. I saw that you, In the blue shirt, Wren, I think? You Also got a letter from your parents! It is nice to get your letter from your parents! Well, anyways, I need to go to Charms class, see ya around! Andy stood up from the seat and walked to his class.

Ema watched as Andy left, her mouth still open. He didn't stop talking, she wasn't trying to be rude she wanted to talk but couldn't but in. He was sweet enough, and seemed like a genuine person. Ema shoved the last of her toast into her mouth, then gulped down her water. She parted ways with Wren, as she had Transfiguration, not Herbology.
Ema attended the Transfiguration class, hurriedly making notes throughout the teacher's fast paced talking. She listened carefully, and almost made a rat form into a Tea Cup! It only had a few loose whiskers, and a furry cup holder. She then attended potions, her creation bubbled perfectly and she found a possible new talent. As the bell rang, she packed up her belongings and rushed out the door, walking through the bustling halls back to the great hall. It was... Lunch time she believed.
As Ema was walking, she caught site of Andy up in front of her, walking towards the great hall. She walked a little faster, excusing herself to people she accidently hit while barging through the crowd. She tapped Andy on the shoulder, "Hey Andy! I didn't get to introduce myself, I'm Ema." She grinned at him as they walked through the entrance to the great hall.

Andy looked at the girl and grinned back. What a nice name! Also, I realized that during breakfast, I couldn't let you speak a word, so I am sorry, but anyways, lets find a seat at the Ravenclaw table. Andy walked to the Ravenclaw table and started piling his plate with chicken casserole and a bunch of potatoes. I have a friend, her neame is Brookline Quinn, ever heard of her? Andy took a big gulp of pumpkin juice and took a bite out of a potatoe. At breakfast, I overheard you talking with Wren. Is she nice? Andy took a towel and put it on his lap to prevent the food from falling on his dress pants. What is your favorite class? Me personally, I like potions and herbology, or any class that does not use a wand. Becuase I like the hands on stuff in magic. What about you? Andy took a couple mints from a table, stuffed them in his mouth, and finished his meal. Well, do you have anything to ask me? He took the towel of his lap and folded it neatly and put it back on the table, were it vanished from his sight.

Ema grinne at Andy, walking with him back to the table. "No, I've never heard of Brookline." She grabs a potato and places it on her plate, pouring herself a glass of water. "My friend and I came together, her name is Ariana Nuci, heard of her? She's in Slytherin." She stabs her fork into the potato, shoving some into her mouth. Ema gulps down water before replying, "Wren is really sweet, just very shy."
I finish my potato, wiping around my mouth, "I really like defence against the dark arts and flying. So fun to learn." I play with the food on my plate as I talk, "Back in the muggle world, I just played rugby and swam. Did you play any muggle sports? Or raised fully wizard?"
I drain my cup quickly, "I've always wondered how wizards were raised. My mother didn't tell me because she feared I would freak out or I was a muggle. Bit random, favourite color? And do you read? Mine is purple, and I love to read books, I read more young adult fiction and am currently reading 'The cruel prince.' I grin at him, waiting.
