@Griseldis Edelhardt Just wanted to get this written before my inevitable detention lol

June 9.
Porcelain Palace.
8 PM.

It was nearly the end of the year, and Mari was eager to go home. The year had been long, classes had been boring, and it seemed she needed a break from the nonsense of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Lately, it seemed that all she did was get in arguments, and it would be nice to go home and be with actually sane people, for once. Grace and even Lucy had been writing her quite a bit in the last few weeks, saying all the things they were going to do together, and it made Mari quite happy.

That isn't to say that she never cried again, for Mari needed to remind herself that she had quite the tragic backstory. She still spent most of her days in the Porcelain Palace, sobbing in part for what the year had given her, in part because her family was so close and they just weren't there yet. Soon, hopefully sooner than it felt, she would be back in Holt - but she still needed to conquer the horror that was exams.

Today, though, she needn't worry about exams, for there was a greater task at hand. Wearing her toilet paper crown and possessing a handmade prefect's badge, unseen beneath her robes (why had no one acknowledged that she was a prefect, yet?), Mari made her way to the Porcelain Palace carrying a box of decorations and a small cake she had nicked from the Great Hall. It was time to celebrate her one best friend: the Porcelain Palace itself.

After she entered the Porcelain Palace, Mari placed the box down gently and removed the cake to set it on one of the broken sinks. It had seemed a bit cleaner, though Mari didn't know why. To her knowledge, she was the only one who deserved to be here; no one else should have entered without her permission. Little did she know that a detention had been served none too long ago.

She decorated the bathroom so that it was adorned in Hogwarts-colored streamers and put up a couple drawings that she had made to celebrate her best friend. When she was done, Mari gazed upon her work. The Porcelain Palace was beautiful by itself, but now, it was immaculate. She deserved 50 house points just for appreciating the neglected stall for what it truly was: art.

Her left hand on her hip, Mari took a fork from her right pocket and began eating the cake. As she looked upon her work, she smiled and murmured to the room, "I love you, PP. Thank you for all you've done; I hope this repays you. I'm going to miss you this summer, old friend."

OOC: I'm really sorry for the long wait, just got back from my vacation and needed a few days to rest.

Her first year almost came to an end and a lot of things happened during her time in Hogwarts. She became friends with a few students, Charms and Defense of the Dark Arts were her Ace subjects so far and she still disliked Potions even when a new Potions Professor came along. But what really surprised her the most was her favorite Professor decided to become the new Head of Gryffindor. Griseldis was quite happy about it that Professor Pendrast became the new Head of their House, however, she would miss Professor Pendrast's teaching very much, she couldn't imagine anyone else who is suitable enough as the Defense against the Dark Arts Professor. Aside from that, she was eager to see her parents and muggle friends in the summer. There were so many things she wanted to share with them, telling them how much she enjoyed her time in Hogwarts and how much she achieved.

There was only one place in Hogwarts she hasn't visited yet, that place would be the rumored abandoned toilets. Some students said that you might encounter a few infamous Ghosts like the Moaning Myrtle, she wasn't a bad ghost and was a normal student like them in the past. Griseldis did hear tales about her and she felt a bit sad for the ghost girl because she never had friends and got bullied often, she would become her friend but maybe she still could if she was able to find her in the abandoned toilets.

The abandoned toilets were located on the second floor, once she arrived there, the corridors were slightly dark but Griseldis could see a bit so she doesn't need to use the Wand-Lighting Charm to see the path. She walked slowly and looked around the area, there was no one but herself and not even a single ghost was there. But that changed when she heard a girl's voice somewhere, "I love you, PP. Thank you for all you've done; I hope this repays you. I'm going to miss you this summer, old friend." Griseldis stopped her footsteps and searched the origin of that voice, the girl's voice seemed to come from the bathroom on the right side. "Could it be the Moaning Myrtle?", Griseldis started to become curious and excited at the same time.

Griseldis tried her best to stay quiet, not wanting to startle the person or the ghost in the bathroom. When she entered, the sight inside the bathroom somehow surprised her, the whole place was decorated, adorned in Hogwarts-colored streamers and there were drawings hanging around as well. She looked at the drawings and find them quite unique, she could feel the emotions in each of those drawings, like showing gratitude to a friend. Then she saw it was a girl with dark skin and curly hair sitting alone there eating her cake, Griseldis found it interesting that she was wearing a paper toilet crown on her head.

At this moment, Griseldis didn't know if she should say hello to the girl or leave the girl alone, a few seconds later she decided to leave her alone and not disturb her enjoying her cake. When she turned around ready to leave the bathroom, a tiny mouse suddenly appeared out of nowhere and ran in front of her, "Woah!?", Griseldis let out a loud surprised cry. She stopped herself in time before stepping on the innocent mouse, but her right foot still in mid-air and that made the Gryffindor girl lost her balance.

"Ouch!!", unfortunately for Griseldis, not only she fell on the ground and hurt her bottom, but she also caught the attention of the curly haired girl. "I- I am so sorry!! I didn't mean to come here to disturb you eating your cake or anything, I got curious when I heard a voice coming from here and thought you might be the infamous Moaning Myrtle." She explained to her with an apologetic smile and noticed the yellow color on her robe, that was when she realized the girl was a Hufflepuff.

Fork raised to mouth, Mari was so focused on the delicious delicacy of sugar that she was unaware of any arrivals until a "woah!" disrupted the sugary moisture dissolving on her tongue as she lobbed a projectile of cake-spit toward the girl who entered.

In an alternate universe, Mari would apologize to the girl for drenching her in soggy cake, but she was mad. She had made special arrangements, told the Porcelain Palace that she reserved it, and expected everyone else to respect such decisions. Yet this girl, someone she didn't even know, came in without permission, acting like she could creep around the place without issue.

Mari wouldn't yell at her, yet. The girl seemed apologetic, and maybe she had a good reason as to why she deserved to celebrate the Porcelain palace. She obviously didn't know the PP on the personal level that Mari did, but sometimes when things were young, acquaintances would come to parties because the object was not old enough to have real friends yet.

The reason was not good enough and quite frankly insulting. Moaning...Myrtle? No, she was Moaning Mari, not some ghost of toilets past. Now, Mari gave the Gryffindor a frown and asked slowly, "Who are you?"

The tartness of the crusty cocoa powder that existed in the poorly-made chocolate cake still felt sweeter than the attitude Mari had. "I'm not a ghost," she added shortly. "I find it offensive that you would say that."

Mari put her fork down in the box still perched on the sink without any further words. She had a bad taste in her mouth, and it was definitely connected to that insulting Gryffindor. Come to think of it? The girl had ruined everything, nothing was good any more. The PP and Mari would just have to celebrate a different day.

She started taking down the decorations without another word to the intruder, focusing instead on streamers and balloons rather than the nuisance that lingered in the corner of her eye.

Griseldis watched as the Hufflepuff girl frowned, seemed to get even more upset than before when she said that she thought she was the infamous ghost. "Who are you? I'm not a ghost, I find it offensive that you would say that.", the girl asked her slowly and added that she felt really insulted by her. This girl is really sensitive, it wasn't like she was saying that she IS the ghost, she thought. Griseldis didn't really like that people accuse of her true character, she wasn't a type who would like to insult others or invade other people's privacy.

She took a deep breath, then explained to her in a calm voice, "I'm really sorry that my words made you feel offensive, I only heard the voice and didn't know it was from a person or a ghost, so I came here to find out. Then I saw it was you, a very alive person with a very cool handmade paper toilet crown on her head just wanted to enjoy her cake. I did intend to leave you alone but then...", she tried to stand up from the ground, ignoring the pain from her bottom. Then looked around and found the little mouse that was now beside the wall grooming itself in an adorable way. She pointed at the mouse and continued her explanation, "This little fellow suddenly appear in front of me and I didn't want to step on the mouse, and then I lost my balance and fell on the ground..."

The Hufflepuff girl simply turned around and started to take down the decorations without looking back at her. Griseldis quickly walked in front of her to stop what she was doing, "Please stop! Again, I am really sorry for coming here uninvited and that I insulted you for saying that I thought you were a ghost. I can see how important this place means to you. You put so much effort and time decorating this bathroom and the pictures you hanged, they're all really beautiful and I can feel the gratitude you have for this place. If I have known earlier that you're celebrating a personal party in this particular bathroom, I would never come here to disturb you. I'm not the type of person that would crash someone's party without asking for permission, and I do respect other people's privacy.", she said with a sincere smile and bowed to her in an apologetic manner.

Griseldis looked up at her again and said, "All this is just an accident, I didn't mean anything. Please forget that I even came here and continue with your party with your dear friend PP here." Yes, she remembered that the Hufflepuff girl called this place PP. "My name is Griseldis Edelhardt, you can call me Gris if you like and what's your name?", she placed a hand to her chest and introduced herself with a friendly smile, she didn't forget to ask the Hufflepuff girl's name as well. "I hope I can make it up to you and PP for ruining this party. But if you want me to leave, then I will leave." It was a shame that what happened here might have given the Hufflepuff girl the wrong and bad impression of her. However, Griseldis tried to be optimistic and hoped she could change her mind.

"You may not have meant anything," Mari scowled maliciously, "but you did it anyway."

She continued taking down the decorations, ignoring all of the girl's words. It was all lies, she knew - she had heard such lies before. Mari Haynes wasn't an idiot. If she wasn't already dating @Lamik Fillestar she would maybe try to vomit-kiss their girl out of here, but unfortunately, Mari wasn't attracted to girls (not that she was really attracted to boys right now) nor was she a cheater. Instead, all she could do was ignore the "there's a mouse!"-lying girl.

Mari wasn't rude, however, so she did turn to nod when the girl introduced herself as "Griseldis Edelhardt." She would see if the girl deserved the friendliness that came with a nickname; Mari doubted she would, what with that first impression. "I see, Griseldis Edelhardt," she murmured softly as she resumed her work. The decorations were nearly taken down now. She would only have to throw them all in the trash afterwards. Peeling the last bit of crinkle paper down, she added, "My name is Joy Marianna Haynes. You can call me Joy Marianna Haynes."

Crinkling the paper into a ball, Mari squeezed the paper tightly as she responded to the last statement that the girl said, "Try us, make our days better. The party's over. I'm staying here, you can make your own choices. You aren't breaking any rules, though I wish I could enforce more guards against the Porcelain Palace. How I'd love to give the invaders detention." She licked her lips maliciously, imagining the joyful sensation that would be giving someone like Choi or Riddle or Illowy, disrespectful snakes, the punishments they deserved.

Feeling no need to grace Griseldis Edelhardt with any more pleasantries, she eyed the brown-eyed girl intently. Mari knew the girl would not change her mind - any invader of the Porcelain Palace was disgusting - but since the party was a bust, at least she could have some make up entertainment while she watched the girl try to prove her worth.

Hearing the Hufflepuff girl saying such words with malicious in them, Griseldis frowned. She watched the girl not trusting her at all and continued to take all the decorations down. She stood there and only felt so much negativity from her.

Hatred and anger were all Griseldis saw in this girl, the air around them already felt slightly cold and heavy. Giving her an unwelcoming feeling. After taking down the last piece of deco from the wall, the Hufflepuff girl did a nod to her and introduced herself but she didn't like the unfriendly tone she gave her and that she only wanted her to call her by her full name. Griseldis met a lot of bullies and mean kids during her time in the muggle schools but at least the bullies were more direct and simple-minded. However, the girl in front of her seemed to be delusional. She was being friendly and polite about it and she also wanted to respect her but she remembered her grandfather's teaching when she was younger.

If the person doesn't respect you, then they don't deserve any respect at all. There is no need to give them any benefit and give those who truly deserve your respect.

Griseldis was an optimist, always wanted to see the good in people but she saw none in that girl. She didn't know what she really went through to become like this. Griseldis immediately felt very uncomfortable when the girl licked her lips in a maliciously way, it was quite disturbing. They were all about the same age and equal as the students of Hogwarts to learn magic. She didn't understand or even possible to see someone so full of hate already. The girl in front of her seriously need help and she would gladly help her but how? And detention? Griseldis knew very well that she wasn't one of the four Hufflepuff Prefects. She could be naive at times but she wasn't stupid, she knew what the Hufflepuff girl wanted from her. She wanted to make her into a "toy" and entertain her.

Griseldis shook her head and sighed sadly, she felt pity for the girl. And at this point she didn't care if she thought that she was a coward or a rude invader, she had true friends in Hogwarts who were kind and amazing. She didn't need to prove anything to this stranger who wasn't even friendly. So she made her decision and looked up at the girl with a serious expression, "I already apologized to you a few times now but you obviously won't accept it and I even tried to be respectful. As I said, I understand how much you cherish this place and I won't laugh about it. We just met and there was nothing I should prove it to you. I have my own pride you know cause I am a person, same as you. So I think it's best that I leave you alone here. I will tell my friends to never enter your Porcelain Palace.", not waiting for her to react, she turned around and started to walk toward the exit, then she stopped at the entrance and turned around to look at her one last time. She said calmly to the Hufflepuff girl, "I only see hatred in your eyes and I don't know if you're always like this or you have been through terrible trauma before. To be honest, I would gladly help you but would you let me?", It was the first time, Griseldis spoke to someone in a serious tone. "I wish you will find peace and happiness one day...goodbye... Joy Marianna Haynes."

Griseldis left the abandoned toilet without looking back to see what kind of expression the Hufflepuff girl made. She thought it would be best to go find her own friend @Alan Noble who was the kindest and the smartest Ravenclaw boy she knew and go to their own spot at the Lakeside together. But she couldn't help but feel a bit guilty for leaving the Hufflepuff girl like that, alone in that cold and silent abandoned toilet with no one else to celebrate the party with her. She hoped that the girl could be healed by someone and be happy once again.

Griseldis Edelhardt left the thread.
But you can tag me if you want to prevent her from leaving.

The speech was long and ineffective, but Mari would pay attention as she internally rebuked each individual statement:

"I already apologized to you a few times now but you obviously won't accept it and I even tried to be respectful. - No, you weren't respectful from the beginning, when you broke into the Porcelain Palace and pretended that vermin lived here.

"As I said, I understand how much you cherish this place and I won't laugh about it." - I know you laughed, you all do because you are all worthless villains. This isn't my first time at Hogwarts.

"We just met and there was nothing I should prove it to you." - If there's one thing this year taught me, it's that life is about two things: proving yourself and fighting. I have done both of these things, always. You could benefit from being stabbed or almost-kidnapped, it seems.

"I have my own pride you know cause I am a person, same as you. So I think it's best that I leave you alone here. I will tell my friends to never enter your Porcelain Palace." - You have no pride, you are a liar. But you are right on the second point: you should definitely tell your friends never to enter the Porcelain Palace.

"I only see hatred in your eyes and I don't know if you're always like this or you have been through terrible trauma before. To be honest, I would gladly help you but would you let me?" - If you wanted to help, you wouldn't have entered here in the first place. You are foolish, foolish like I once was...

"I wish you will find peace and happiness one day...goodbye... Joy Marianna Haynes." - Peace and happiness...what a wish. If only.

As the girl walked away, Mari scowled at the ground. This day had meant to be an enjoyable one, and now, like many days at Hogwarts, it was ruined. She hadn't meant for it to be such a disaster...but then again, when had she ever? Life just didn't seem to think that she deserved a break, what with all these idiot kids trying to interrupt the only pleasant moment she had had in a while.

How many more days was it until the holidays again? Maybe if she got away, things would be better. Just maybe...Mari could only hope, but as she hoped more, the pit in her stomach grew. Mum, Dad, Lucy, Grace...her people. The people who had not been replaced by students of Hogwarts. The people who still understood her for who she was, who wouldn't taunt her by invading her palace like this. When she was back with them, things would be better. She believed it.

For now, though, as her heart sank, Mari would return to her favorite spot in the palace: the toilet. As she rest her hiney on his porcelain bowl, the tears would, of course, come once more. She loved being princess of the Porcelain Palace and she would miss it, but for now, all Mari wanted was to go home.
Thread complete.

Gris is such a bean, sorry Mari is the worst...
