Task 1:
ReducioCillian(Kill-ee-an) and Fiadh(Fee-ah) are brother and sister, living together in the streets of Ireland. All is good until something strange starts to happen. First a young girl [Éabha-(ey-va)] suddenly appears in their school, then one of Fiadh's friends disappears mysteriously. They witness Éabha using magic on the school headmaster. Éabha entrances Cillian to come to the fae world beneath the hills. Fiadh has to save her brother from the fae, and figure out the growing mystery of her school and life.
A Hero's Journey
ReducioAct 1: Departure
This Act consists of 5 stages: the ordinary world, call to adventure, refusal of the call, Meeting with the mentor, and crossing the first threshold.
1. Ordinary world
Cillian and Fiadh are siblings in Ireland. They go to Aos sí Academy and help their parents fish after school. Cillian studies geography and Fiadh studies mythology. They live in a small town near the edge of Dublin, where fish are plentiful and swimming is almost mandatory. It is the last day of summer when the story starts.
2. Call to adventure
At Aos sí Academy, a new girl, Éabha suddenly comes in. No one knows where she lives, or where she comes from. She becomes extremely popular quickly and has everyone under a seeming spell....except for Cillian and Fiadh. They ask their parents if they have ever seen something like this, and their parents tell them a story about fae. The next day, they tell them that they are leaving for a fishing convention. Cillian and Fiadh move to their Aunt Saoirse's house. Fiadh's best friend disappears mysteriously, and Éabha is at the top of their suspect list. The other students barely seem to notice. Cillian gets fed up and takes Fiadh to talk to the principal. When they go in, they find Éabha magicking the principal.
3. Refusal of the call
Éabha tries to make them go with her to the land of fae, but they refuse, prompting a small fight.
4. Meeting with the mentor
Éabha charms Cillian into going to her fae world, and Fiadh is left behind. In a forest she meets an old fae that helps her understand what is going on and how she can fix it. She starts to train with him.
5. Crossing the threshold
The old fae tells her to go to the fae world, and she does, now knowing that she has to save Cillian before the next full moon, where they will try to turn her brother fae, or sacrifice him in the process.
Act 2: Initiation
The second act consists of four vital stages, i.e. tests, allies and enemies, approach to the inmost cave, the ordeal, and finally, the reward.
6. Tests, allies and enemies
Fiadh is found out, and thrown into a pit of fae dust. But a concerned fae (Declan) helps her get out once she completes his riddles. Then, with the help of him and a few others magic, she is taken to the fae school and spies on them from there. During a class she finds her best friend (Bridget). After a few weeks of nothing, she runs into her old school principal, who is actually a fae. He fights her, and she barely manages to escape. Then as she tries to escape the school, some of her former friends (Orla,Tadhg, and Finley) capture her, Declan, and Bridget and take them to the capital of the fae world.
7. Approach to the inmost cave
In the capital, the ruler of fae meets her and gives her the chance to leave with her life and mind, but without Cillian or Bridget. Fiadh is torn, but chooses to stay. The rule of fae then angrily gives her Cillian, who is unconscious, and tells Orla, Tadhg, and Finley to dispose of them all. Orla and Tadhg obey, but Finley helps them, releasing Declan and Bridget, where they all pitch in the battle. They battle each other, and Fiadh's team seems to be winning when the ruler of fae steps in and severely injures Finley.
8. The ordeal
As the battle stops, Fiadh tries to strike a deal with the ruler of fae. She tells her that she will be willingly made fae or killed if her brother and friends can leave safety. The ruler agrees, and starts to drain her life. But before she can finish, Cillian wakes up and saves Fiadh. He grabs iron that he had in his pocket and throws it at the ruler, rendering her weak and powerless. Then Fiadh summons up all the training she's had, and uses magic for the first time in her life. She uses a staff to capture the ruler in a jail of thick iron bars.
9. Reward
Everyone celebrates, and Fiadh's friends apologize. Finley gets healed by the fae's magic, and is able to stand and walk again. Fiadh and Cillian decide that they have to go home, and Bridget wants to leave the world as well. The others agree, but give them a pile of fresh bread as a gift. Aibell (the fae ruler) is taken to court, and removed of her title.
Act 3: Return
The Return symbolizes the effect of the achievement and what lies ahead for the hero. There would be new obstacles. However, the hero now must return home, even if it is symbolic. This act has three stages, i.e., the road back, the resurrection, and return with the elixir.
10. The road back
Cillian, Bridget, Fiadh still have the mystery of why Éabha was charming Dublin, nor where she disappeared to but the fear of the fae has disappeared, and now it's time to go home. They take an upside down path of hills to get back home, and pop back into their world with right side up hills.
11. The resurrection
As they pop back at home, Éabha is waiting, with a staff of leaves in her hand. She puts everyone in a trance, but loses hold on Fiadh. Then, Éabha gives Fiadh a warning, that Aibell will escape and cause death and suffering for both fae and human. Then she tells her that she is a spy for the humans, and is on her side. Fiadh is shocked. Éabha entrances her while she's shocked, and gives her a four leaf clover medallion. Then she disappears, and leaves them all, undoing the trance as she goes away.
12. Return with the elixir
The three humans return home, gifts in hand. Their parents are overjoyed, but no one believes their story. Except for Fiadh's mentor, who believes every word being fae himself. Life returns to normal-mostly. Fiadh's mentor decides to train Fiadh, Cillian, and Bridget. But besides, that, they go back to school, and back to the life they've always known. And of course, they check on their friends under the hills, living both of the worlds, and ending the story on a happy note. In an epilogue, Éabha is portrayed with the knowledge that the story is not yet done, and the promise of a sequel.

Task 2:
Part A: World Building
ReducioThe beginning of the story is set in the real world, in Ireland. Fiadh and Cillian go to Aos sí Academy and have friends and enemies. They are at the edge of Dublin, near the ocean, where their parents fish. The weather is usually rainy, and the ground is usually very green, with plenty of hills. This is where the story starts, and where it ends. But in most of the book, Fiadh and Cillian are in the world of fae.
The land of fae is what Fiadh and Cillian call it, but it has a more formal and regal name. Fallwin, Land Of Creatures. The fae and a few other magical creatures-like the banshee-live there. There are five regions. The land is set like large islands, surrounded by water on all sides. The five islands are the five regions. They are close together, a few feet apart from the next Island, a big circle of them. Kenyeen (Ken-Yun), the outermost region. It is full of poor people and criminals, and barely any fae, the rulers of the land. Almost no one wants to live there, and if they do, they live in constant fear of getting robbed or killed. It is here where the Pit Of Fae Dust resides, a pit that keeps the worst criminals under control and out of sight. Then there is Phansia (Fay-sha), the second outermost region. It has the low classes, poor, but not too poor people. Slightly below middle class, there are some fae, but more of other creatures. There are schools here, and jobs as well. No one has ever done anything worth remarking on that region, but some have made their way up a region. It is a mildly hopeless region. The next region is Fitain (Pit-en), a middle class world. There are plenty of fae there, as well as plenty of other creatures. There are many schools and jobs here, and a few people have even done noteworthy things. This land is home to the richest and best plants and vegetation in the world. Many people come to look at them, and the gardeners are the best in that region. It is sometimes called "The Flower Region". People can have fine amounts of money, and most don't have to struggle too much to have a good life. All in all, a pretty good region. Then there is Quasil (Kay-zil), the upper class land. It has a bit more fae than other creatures, and the best education in all the regions. While Fitain is a plant region, Quasil is known to be a school region. It has the best boarding schools in the world, and amazing public schools as well. Plenty of people are sent to Quasil just for education. Jobs are plentiful, and some even grow up to get into the royal guard or advisory. Many people from this planet have done very grand historical things. The last land, and best land, is Cance (San-s), the highest class of all the regions. It is mostly fae, with a few lucky creatures that aren't fae. The capital resides here, as well as the entirety of the royals. Most people who have done anything worthy of knowing have lived here. This is the place of rich people with rich houses and items, fancy furniture and lots of entertainment. If you live here, you're rich and lucky, living among the most famous and greatest of them all. The five regions make up Fallwin, a land of magic and complications.

Part B: Character Creation
ReducioFiadh: The main character. Fiadh is the main character in the story, and she helps to save the land of fae from their evil ruler. She is an Irish brunette, with wavy hair usually in a braid or double braids because she hates getting hair in her face when working on something. She wears a long dress with a sweater usually, and her favorite pair of brown combat boots. She always loves to be in the current style, so she begs her parents to buy her whatever dress or jacket is in the latest fashion. When she gets to the boarding school, she wears that uniform to fit in, and a belt to hold her staff. She loves to fish, hold pie eating contests, talk with her friends, and read and geek about fae and other irish mythology. Her strengths are studying/learning, compassion, escaping things, fighting, will, and creativity. Her weaknesses are pessimism, oranges (allergic), magic, boys (cute ones), inflexibility, disrespect, and anxiety. Her motivations are saving her brother and her life, and going back to normal.
Cillian: The other main character. Cillian is the lesser main character in the story, the one who gets taken by the fae. He is an Irish boy with brown hair and low bangs that he constantly has to shake out of his eyes. He thinks it makes him look cool, so he keeps them long even though it's inconvenient. He wears a sweater vest and pants when he really wants to look cool, and doesn't really care what he wears otherwise, usually wearing the school uniform during school days. When he gets captured, he wears a brown tunic and jeans. He loves to beat his sister at pie eating contests, bake pies, study and go geeky about geography, run, flirt with girls, and weld. His strengths are speed, strength, being positive, bravery, fighting, and loyalty. His weaknesses are impatience, dishonesty, and recklessness. His motivations are getting back to his sister and figuring all the mysteries out.

ReducioI most likely will be busy during the week, as I have a show that month. So I will do most of my 11,700 words on the weekend. But I will try to get 330 words per day during the afternoons or breaks that I have. Considering most of my Saturday is free, and most of my Sunday is usually, it shouldn't be too unrealistically hard to get through 11,700 words if I work hard for it.

Fiadh took a deep breath as she entered the old man's house. Or well...he wasn't exactly a man. He was a fae, or so he told her. She wasn't sure if she believed him or not yet, but he was her only hope. The floor creaked as she entered, and the old man suddenly appeared. It was like he had run there, but really really quickly.
"H-hello. I'm here for training? You said you could help me fight." Fiadh looked at him nervously.
"Hello there. I'm Kieran. Nice to meet you. And I'll be teaching you magic, not fighting." Kieran smiled at her, and she backed away a little.
"But I...I'm not fae like you." Her parents were fishers, not fae. What was Kieran going to teach her if she couldn't learn it. She didn't have time to do anything except learn to fight quickly, and then go on her way to the land of fae.
"Really? Because at your parents age, they wouldn't be taken. No changeling is coming in at that age. And your brother....they want to sacrifice some fae blood is my guess. Your aunt was forced out to the human world because she disagreed with their policies, and your parents just left on their own. You are most definitely a fae." He smiled at her, and she frowned. How could he be so wrong?
"Erm...right. But I want to know how to fight, so...." She shrugged her shoulders.
"Fine! Bah, youth. But tomorrow, I will train you in magic." Fiadh agreed, not wanting to seem ungrateful.
And so they trained for that first day in fighting. She learned how to block, dodge, and faint. She could strike, attack, and distract. She was a novice fighter now. She wanted to become better before she left to fight fae, so she would need to stick around.
Before she could go back to her aunt, Kieran asked her a question. "Do you want to go back to your aunt's?" Fiadh blinked in surprise.
"Um...yes?" But Kieran saw her hesitation.
"Do you want to go back to your aunt's?" She slowly shook her head. If she was being lied to, and her aunt really was a fae, she didn't want to go back to her. "Then stay here, a train with me." She nodded.
Fiadh was given a room in the attic, with a nice bed and window. It was mildly uncomfortable, but she didn't really mind. The next day, she was harshly woken up by getting shoved out of her bed.
"Agg!" She screeched, very abruptly awake. Kieran smiled at her.
"Time for some magic training."
"I told you, I don't have mag-" But she was cut off by Kieran dragging her down the stairs.
They went into a room with lots of pillows all over, and Fiadh wondered what she was in for. That's when Kieran grabbed a bookshelf, and threw it at her. Something inside her clicked as she fell to the ground (on the pillows), and she managed to grab the bookshelf without breaking her hands. It didn't feel like it weighed anything. Fiadh's jaw dropped, and she hastily let go of the bookshelf.
"I-I...I do have magic. I have really good strength." She nearly laughed at the absurdity of it. "I am a fae!" And now she could march into the fae world, ready to magic up some revenge. She had promised to save her brother, and she would. This time, she would have magic on her side.
"H-hello. I'm here for training? You said you could help me fight." Fiadh looked at him nervously.

My mind became more clouded and clouded as the charm took hold. I could barely think anymore, and disobeying her was out of the question. I collapsed on the floor, my legs seizing to work. She walked closer to me, a smile playing on her lips.
"You will never go back to your world. Your mind will soon be wiped, and you will be a normal fae like everyone else. Doesn't that please you?" My first instinct was to nod, but something deeper inside of me stopped it. Maybe I could still disobey her.
As I kept thinking, my mind became more clear. And angry. She wanted me to become a mindless, obeying fae. Well, I would show her. I would stay half human, and completely angry. She did not know what she was messing with.
"No." It was the first word I could manage. She looked at me in surprise, and shoved her hands towards me. Instantly, my mind became pushed with more charm then I had ever experienced. I was helpless. And that made me very angry.
It was the anger that saved me in the end. Helplessness made me angry. So I fought it. More than I had ever before. Our forces were very strong against each other. I still have no idea who would have won it. What did happen was that my friends burst into the room and distracted both of us. My concentration slipped, but lucky for me, her's did as well, and the charm's control was lost.
"Éabha? What are you doing! Fiadh's on the floor and you're clutching your skull. You didn't try to...Éabha, what did you do?" Declan looked at Éabha, concerned.

The fact that Éabha had escaped made me mad all over again. Declan couldn't have stopped her? It was all very frustrating. And I was angry at myself. I had let her get away, let her charm me. I vowed that next time, she wouldn't get away. Next time, I would win.

The best school in all the five regions. I was one of the luckiest people in my entire world to go there. I should be down on my knees thanking everyone, or at least very happy to have a full scholarship there. But all I could feel was cold dread. Kenyeen was my home region, and no one got a chance to leave. Ever. But somehow, I did. I was just a poor street fae who occasionally picked pockets, but mostly got food and money by entrancing people. My free and extremely bad school had no way to teach me how to be a fae, as I was the only family of faes there. People looked at me...a bit like I was a monster. After the rumors about me, I would too. But there was more than just the state of my poorness that bothered me. It was the fact that I had helped a criminal. I had helped a human.
Of course, my mother was thrilled that I had been accepted. She made me pack all of my belongings, and chattered on about how proud my father would have been, and how great it was that I would get out of the region. But I was just terrified that they would do something to me. Somehow figure out who I had helped. I promised Fiadh that I would tell no one about her. But how could I do that if they tortured me? My resolve could only hold so much.
Yet, I still went. I took the rainbow they sent me, and got into a talk about gold with a leprechaun on the way there. Oh, and I secretly sneaked Fiadh with me. It was a very nerve-racking experience. But I did it, and it was over quickly enough.
We got to the school, and my mind nearly exploded at the expensiveness of it. One brick alone could give my family food for a week. I was dumbfounded. Fiadh didn't seem to care about the bricks as much, so I assumed humans weren't poor like us. I was starting to take in how lucky I was to attend here, and why so many people thought it was amazing. If I could get over my fears, I could become the greatest scholar in the world.

I growled at the ruler, beaten. Finley lay, dead or dying. My friends were held back or unconscious. There was no way I was going to win this. Unless...I could say everyone, all over the entirety of my world...but only if I traded myself in. It was the only way. "Aibell..." I started.
Declan looked at me, knowing what I was about to do. "No! Fiadh don't do it!" He shouted before being silenced. I gave him a sad smile before returning my eyes to the fae queen.
"Aibell..." I began again. "I accept your deal. I will...become a fae, and become loyal to you." Bridget struggled to get away from her captors at this, having not caught on until now.
"No! Please, Fiadh, please!" Her screams shook me, but I remained standing in front of her. No matter what, I had to save Bridget. I had to save my brother.
"I'll do it. Just...keep your end of the deal." I took my hand out, ready to shake. But Aibell just laughed. She stalked closer, and shoved my hand down. Then she pushed me to the ground. I winced in pain as blood started to flow from my knee.
"I know your secret. You're already a stupid little fae. I can't do anything to you. Except..." I perked up at this. If she was willing to do something else, it would be horrible, but it would save my friends.
"Except what?" I prompted. Declan looked dismayed at how easily I changed tactics.
"Except I have another way to gain power. If I drain a fae's life, I can get more strength and power, and one that has not used their magic yet...those are the best." I was disgusted at her happy tone. She sounded like a predator, and all I wanted to do was run away. Especially if I was to die. But I had to save Cillian. It was my only chance.
"I-" I was about to give her my acceptance, but a voice made me pause.
"No!" It was my brother, struggling to get up. He still looked very weak, but his voice was strong. "Fiadh, please, don't give yourself up! We can find another way! We can win without this!" I almost cried. He didn't know how bad the situation was. We had no way to win.
"I can't. I'm...I'm sorry." I struck out my hand, and Aibell took it. The deal was sealed, and I was to die.

I crept past Jaider, hoping he wouldn't see me today. I needed food badly, and Jaider would throw me in the kennel if he caught me trying to perform. I was lucky today though. He was asleep, muttering about rights and stupid leprechauns. I was safe.
I ran towards the small stage, and slid quickly onto it. No one was scheduled to perform today, like usual. But that didn't mean that people weren't seated, waiting for someone to run on and perform. It was the best way to make money after all.
The music player who was lazing about looked at me to see if he needed me to do anything. I nodded at him, and motioned to my feet. He grinned and started to play a quick Irish jig. My feet started tapping to the rhythm of the music, ready to start dazzling the audience.
My feet started to move. The Irish dance they were doing was quicker than I could normally, do, and I was surprised at myself for being able to do it. My practice must have been paying off. I danced across the stage, kicking and jumping. My hands were in tight fists, glued to my side. It was one of the best performances of my life.
The audience was clapping along with the beat now, and some of the children were dancing easier jigs as well on the ground. This all gave me strength to keep going. After a little bit more dancing, I knew it was time to go soon. But I really wanted to do something cool, and get a lot more money and food. So I looked at the stage, sized it up, and leaped. My hands went off my sides in the leap, and I gracefully did a jeté off the stage. I managed to stick the landing, and bowed. The crowd went crazy, grabbing my money bag and putting whole dollars and pieces of food in it.
But just as I had closed the bag and was ready to return home, I felt a strong grip on my arm. I inwardly groaned, yelling at myself for taking too long. Jaider had caught me. He was grinning maliciously, and I knew I was done for. "This time you'll be punished!" He shouted, and then grabbed his mallet and hit me on the head. I collapsed on the floor and everything went black.
