After Brookline walked away and disappeared from her sight, Sere looked left and right, wondering who would pick her up... or if even anyone would pick her up. 'Unforgotten' was good enough. She stepped around Platform 9¾.
Quicker than she was expected, Her eyes found someone's very familiar: Ashton Roderick Nade, her father, who turned out to be here today to pick her up. Without her mother, of course. There's no way they both could leave all the expansion -what so important- meetings in the same time. Sere strongly didn't want to go home, but she didn't know where to go if she didn't walk towards her father, she couldn't help but walk towards the man in his middle fifties.
As she approached Ashton, Sere could see that her father was not alone. Her father was talking to a man and a woman, both adults. Sere could only see the three of them chatting for a few seconds because her father realized her presence. Ashton was seen throwing a formal smile and saying goodbye to the two adults whose backs Sere could only see before her father moving towards her.
When it felt close enough, Ashton observed Sere from head to toe, probably making sure his daughter's limbs were still intact: no scratch, no wound; then replacing her daughter to push the luggage. That was it. No hug, no 'I miss you' thingy, no 'are you doing good?', and Sere is already used to it.
"Who were they?" Sere had a suspicion, so she started the conversation just for asking. Ashton glanced at Sere, no answers for a few seconds, before opening his mouth, replying Sere's question with an information that Sere's mother was working out of the city and no one's home today so they will buy some sets of chicken fingers on their way home.
Sere looked away, tightened her jaw, trying so hard to hold her argument: that was not answering anything.
