The cat gave little resistance as Olphie picked him up. It seemed some of the sticks in the mud didn't want him there. Sebas gave a slight growl towards them as he curled up tightly in the woman's arms. When a student wanted to hold him, he could only protest more. It would be a bit awkward to turn into a full-grown adult human while being held by a young child. Injuries, accusations, and just an uncomfortable experience overall. If he did that to Olphie, it would just be funny. Not that he knew this professor at all.
"Meow!" He said with pride as he nestled into Olphie's arms.
Sebas really did not want to turn human to come to this party. He'd sneak back in if this woman who adored him actually tossed him out.
haters could suck his little toe beans. This was a cat on a mission. More people showing up would just make it easier to blend in and be forgotten. He purred happily and gave Olphie the cutest eyes he could conjure.
Please let me stay! And feed me!

hy Professor Browne was apologizing, Zahid wasn’t sure. Of course, properly meeting his colleagues and having a talk would have been nice, but he’d joined the faculty at a busy time and so close to the end of the school year that he wasn’t in any way surprised that everyone – him included – had been too busy for all the meet-and-greet or however one might have called it. “There is no need to apologize for that, Professor Browne.” He busied himself with the potatoes and checked what other ingredients he would have to work with. At the mention of a book he could not help but perk up. His colleague had wanted to borrow a book from him?
He was still surprised that people needed sun screen for a sun as weak as it was in Britain. But then, he had to admit, they were not as used to the sun as people were elsewhere. Same with the heat, really. “Do you believe that it will get much warmer still today? Well, warmer by British standards.” He doubted that he would have been walking around in merely a T-shirt in this weather back before he’d left Libya. This he would probably have considered cold then. He’d gotten used to more varied temperatures since then.
He moved the chopped potatoes into a bowl to the side so that he had space to get started on the second half. The chopping was somewhat relaxing as it was a mindless, repetitive process. Or it was until he almost cut himself because he was startled by the sudden cacophony of clattering metal. Putting the knife down – better safe than sorry – he glanced around to see if he could spot what had caused the commotion.

Tabitha came up to the area where the barbecue was being set up, she was aware that she was a little late but she had wanted to look nice when meeting her future teachers and peers. Her parents had encouraged her to come to the summer camp in order to meet friends before starting at Hogwart's that fall and Tabs planned on taking full advantage of the opportunity. She was wearing a white sun dress with pink flowers on it and had taken the time to do her hair and makeup which weren't common elements of her morning routine. Her feet were bare and she stepped lightly with the grace of someone trained in ballet.Interaction: open
As she approached the picnic tables she suddenly felt rather award at not having not brought any food to share. She knew it wasn't required but it still felt wrong none the less. She had been raised to always offer food to guest's and always bring something to share to gatherings. How was she suppose to introduce herself to anyone with out offering them a cookie of something. Was this a stupid thing to worry about? Probably. Oh well, she'd have to figure it out as she went. Tabitha pulled a bright smile and finished her walk up to the gathering of students and teachers.

River looked at the girl in front of her, a slight confused look crawled up her face, and her eyebrows furrowed slightly. She was looking at River, and River looked right back. Standing her ground when keeping eye-contact was something River had learnt to do quite well. Luckily her plate was empty when she fell, the young Ravenclaw thought to herself as she sat there in the grass.| Interacting With |

Hearing the girls answer to the question, she smiled stiffly, glad to hear no bones were broken in that very dangerous accident.
River heard the girl ask a question, though, her brain did not seem present enough to pick it up. She snapped back to reality, as the girl started speaking again. Eat more red stuff? What was this girl saying?
That River was pale?
Sure, she was indeed quite pale-skinned, but one didn’t need to call it out, perhaps it was a sore subject. Raising her right eyebrow up at the girl, River chuckled slightly, «Yeah, I don’t think food is going to help my face», she said, and shook her head carefully. «But thank you for the advice anyway», she added, and again, pushed on a smile. Slightly forced sure, but still believable.
River honestly didn’t mind the girl bringing her face up. Caught a little off guard, but not hurt or anything. She wasn’t that weak. Plus, the girl couldn’t know, for all she knew, River was simply sick or something, that would probably be the safest theory to go with.
«I could probably go for something to eat though, just something light, doesn’t matter what», River added quickly, and nodded carefully to the girl. The same smile still on her face, though her eyes were as cold as always.

Many others would arrive, but Olphie's eyes would remain fixated on her newest friend, only to raise a brow at the creature, then professors, as her animal growled. "Now now," she cooed as she attempted to soothe the cat with petting, "He's frightened, no need to be so cruel. Zaheard, dear, care to give me some potato salad when you're finished, dear? I'll just be over there."
Cradling the cat in her arms, Olphie let out a low purr to further comfort the animal, ignoring all noises or other interactions around her as she walked away from the gathering of professors to approach an unfamiliar child [@Tabitha Green]. She must be one of the new ones. While Olphie's ego would be more pleased to have a fan, she secretly wished the child was a Muggleborn, like herself. The child would benefit from such an influential figure mentoring her before she came to Hogwarts.
Olphie greeted the child before her, asking, "Hello, dear! Are you new this upcoming year?" before moving on to bigger and better things: her cat, her best friend. It seemed he liked her quite a bit, his eyes displaying love in a way that seemed...human, almost, but she was certain it was just because he was a very smart cat, much like his new owner.
The only thing that was left to do to seal their relationship forever was to give him a name. Olphie eyed his bowtie curiously - it would have to be replaced, she reasoned, with a large pink bow - when the stitches of embroidery caught her eye. Very nice. This whimsical cat was perhaps more stylish than she had imagined.
The bow tie's embroidery identified the cat as "Sebastian," which Olphie found quite ironic because cats eat Seabass! Whimsical eyebrows, ugly bow tie, and the silly name...this cat was, well, purrrrfect.
The brunette turned towards the girl as she scratched the cat between his (she checked) ears. "I'm Professor Bercegeay, dear; Professor of Flying. And this is my new cat Seabass! Isn't he purrrrfect?! With this statement, she purred so exaggeratedly that it could only be described as strange.

Professor MacTavish was running late. As usual, he had gotten carried away tending to his plants. Now that he had responsibilities to pursue, he was a hot mess. And that was the polite way to put it. He hadn't regretted any decisions, for sure, but he was certainly questioning his mental stability.
However, with summertime being here, he was finally able to breathe. And at last, a chance to really get to know the public! The general population of this school was quite a bit larger than he had expected it to be. This was not a bad thing, for sure, however, he was still surprised. Though he probably shouldn't be. It was a school, after all.
Though, his delay in his presence set him behind. What was happening? What was going on? Who were these people. Boniface had a lot to get used to, and he wasn't quite sure that he was prepared.
The man decided that whatever happens shall happen. He will not force his way into the hearts of those around him. Instead, he will allow the good people to flock to him as they see fit. Heed the warning, however. The man known as Boniface, Professor of Herbology, truly does have a thick accent. Should his Scottish slang dare drip from his tongue, one might find themselves rather confused. However atrocious the accent may be, Boniface is a nice of a lad as they come, and would welcome all with a warm smile and a bit of Scottish Gaelic.

Dale loved barbecue food, and he was starving. With those two factors combined it was almost too easy to follow the scent of the meat being cooked from the cabins to the picnic spot. He quickly rushed over to the serving table and grabbed two burgers and some potato salad, surely that would fill him up, but the burgers were quite small, so he grabbed a third one. The food smelled and looked delicious, he saw the professors cooking the food, who knew they were so good at cooking! He looked around the picnic spot for an empty table with some good scenery to look at while he ate. He had never really been a fan of eating outside, too many bugs, too hot, and the sun always got in his eyes. But today was a beautiful day with almost no bugs to be seen. As he walked over to the table, smelling the food laid out in the plate he held, he was a tad too distracted and tripped over a small rock. His precious food went all over the grass, and as he sat up he felt a large amount of pain in his right ankle.

Elena Jones, for once, was late.
The girl had been too enamoured with her cabin to remember to come back for the actual barbeque. Which was not a good thing, since Elena loved three things. Food, rain and trees, she was like a particularly angry orchid. Maybe she was an orchid, one of those carnivorous orchids, you never know with plants these days, or students.
Elena though, was not dressed as an orchid, no bright colours today, just greys and whites that she'd decided was nice and peaceful when she saw it and never bothered to change. Also a pair of shoes she'd coveted since she knew what Converse was.
The girl put away her sunglasses when she noticed it wasn't quite sunny enough to warrant them. There was someone new here, someone she hadn't seen before, way too old to be one of the first years wondering about.
Elena slid over to the new person and waved, "Hola, I'm Elena. Are you a new professor? I don't think I've seen you around before."
It was Summer, a time for all respectful manners to slowly wind their way down the drain as you pretend that everyone around you is a friend instead of people in charge of your grades and future. Elena was a cheery person, thinking like that.

Meenauh listened to the girl while seeing more people arriving at the grounds, headmasters tripping over student bodies lying in the grass, new adults arriving (probably, Professors) and the whole morning started to look like a decent party. And Meenauh prayed it would be a proper party at least once. They weren't exactly in the castle, so no probably the party was not doomed for any catastrophe at that time.
She didn't see any of her roommates just yet, since she left them, but expected them to come and eat as well.
"Okay, I'm going to grab some more food, so, see you around, I guess. Those vegetarian burgers are top-notch, by the way."
She strolled away to the food tables and took a plate with the potato salad and placed a couple of halloumi burgers on top. Then she went on to sit on a big stone to continue her breakfast.
"Headmaster Lear wouldn't allow a vampire in, would he?" her voice cut the silence in her head once again, intrigued by the recent acquaintance.
She didn't see any of her roommates just yet, since she left them, but expected them to come and eat as well.
And then she started to pay attention to the pale girl again. She couldn't quite believe a person could be that beautiful, to be honest. Like all the features of her face, except the dead-like paleness, were so perfected that Meenauh couldn't actually listen to what the girl was saying, but she tried very hard. She answered something like food not helping the paleness. For just a split of a second Meenauh had a wild guess about the origins of the paleness, but that couldn't be true and Hogwarts wouldn't allow a child vampire to wander around among other students. Anyway, despite the books and history she studied, she couldn't quite believe them to actually exist, somehow. She brushed away the silly thoughts and told the girl:Still interacting with @River Dewlight

The Summer BBQ
Interacting with @Katrina Walker @Bloom Silverton @Adam Harringtom
Dymphna wondered if they would be allowed to go swimming. The weather was perfect for it! Before she could respond that she’s always been partial to autumn, an unfamiliar face showed up. “I’m Dymphna. Call me Dymph.” She didn’t think the girl was in their year and it was confirmed by her question. “Oh, you’ll love second year. At least, I did! We learned about Runes in History but you won’t take Ancient Runes until your third year.”
She looked around the grounds before turning back to Adam. “I’m not sure, I didn’t attend last year. Hopefully we’ll get to go swimming.” Living on the coast, she was taught to swim early on and absolutely loved it. Her childhood was filled with memories of swimming with the muggle children in town. They all pretended to be mermaids like in the storybooks, but she knew the truth of how ugly they really were.
Seeing Bloom coming over reminded her of their graduation party. It wasn’t something she wanted to remember and tried to push the embarrassment away. It hadn’t exactly been a failed jinx but she thought of it as such, seeing that it hadn’t hit her intended target. “I’m thinking of staying all summer. I didn’t get to come last year. Have you chosen a cabin? I don’t know where I’m staying yet.”
It occurred to her that if alone with Bloom, she might try to bring up the party, but maybe it would do her some good to talk about it with someone her age. It was nothing against Hjørdis, but she was an adult and it was her job to give her detention despite and because of the situation. “I doubt they’re allowing co-ed or I’d ask you too, Adam.” She had no qualms about rooming with a boy, perhaps only a specific boy. Awkward.
There was a crash, a clang of metal and a shout but the blonde didn’t turn around. Whatever it was, she didn’t want to get involved this time. If she had to guess, it had something to do with Headmaster Lear. Who else would wear armor to a summer barbecue? Who else would wear armor in the first place?
