It was Meiyu’s second day at Hogwarts. With the previous help of some fellow house-mates and some classmates she had been fortunate to share similar class schedules with, she had been able to get around and get to her classes adequately on time. She was not one to timekeep and obsess over her attendance, especially so early on into the year, but first impressions matter.
Her next lesson — Herbology, which was located in the castles greenhouses, seemed extremely far from where she had resided during lunch, which stupidly had been the Great Lake. The young girl tried to familiarise herself with the castle despite still being early days, yet Meiyu felt a sense of shame. Something so simple, felt so difficult to attain. How hard was it to find Herbology class?
With her distance being no where near the main grounds and the next class quickly approaching, Meiyu found herself stuffing her book bag with the contents she had occupied herself with during lunch, namely her journal. The poor girl began to ran up the castle stairs, bringing her to the now almost empty courtyard with multiple large wooden doors leading to different corridors. Meiyu huffed in annoyance, her usually neat appearance had switched visibly into something any professor could assume as being lost.
She mentally played a game of ‘odd one out’ and opted to go through the door which had won her childish game, in hopes of finding the greenhouses. Yet her ambition was quickly shattered, as she found herself pacing the corridors, her cape almost flying away due to her speed, before she bumped into an older student.
”I’m so sorry, I’m late for Herbology, but I can’t seem to find where the class is.” She rambled a quick apology to the person she had accidentally barged into.
Although this is a private thread to meet Tracey, anyone is welcome to join and participate.

It was the second day of Tracey's second year at Hogwarts! Her first year went smoothingly well, since she had made a lot more friends than she thought she would.
As usual, Tracey had spent her lunch break taking her kitten, Tiger, out for a walk, she had just left the Ravenclaw common room after putting her kitten away, when she realized she'll be late for potions, so she quickly ran down the stairs and began making her way towards the dungeons, but she then bumped into a first year who looked lost. Tracey offered them a smile before saying,
"It's ok. Your new here, right? I'll be late for potions, but I'll help you find your way to the greenhouse. Hopefully professor Regan doesn't get mad at me for being late. Anyways, follow me,"
Tracey then slowly began to lead the lost first year towards the greenhouses. She was walking slowly, since she wasn't sure if the first year was following her or not, and with she walking pace, she knew both of them would be late, but Tracey would be even later for potions than the girl would be for herbology.
"Oh, I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Tracey Bailey, a second year in Ravenclaw," Tracey says turning around and offering the first year a warm smile while she was now walking backwards.

Meiyu was extremely thankful to have met the Ravenclaw, so suddenly. Had it not been for their accidental meeting, she would have never made it on time to her class. "Yes, it's my first official day. The castle is..too big?" She questioned with a slight giggle to ease the awkwardness, briefly looking around before chasing behind the older girl. It wasn't long until she had caught up with her, thankfully her strides were long, she had to thank her already long legs - despite not being blessed with the best height for her age, she did have great proportions.
Her lips manoeuvred into a smile at her introduction, the girl was sweet, meeting her expectations for how kind Ravenclaw students were, she was yet to meet someone who had not exceeded her expectations. Everything was new and intriguing to young girl. "I'm Meiyu. First year. Gryffindor." Her words came out rather quickly, opposed to what she had hoped for as the two walked through the corridors.
"I owe you for this, honestly. I hope you don't get in trouble, it's only fair that I probably will too, since I'll be late too." Meiyu sighed, she couldn't believe she was going to be late, but what could she do? She was yet to adapt to the castle and its surroundings.

As Tracey walked out the castle and began walking through the grounds towards the greenhouses, the 12-year-old Ravenclaw was amazed by how quickly the first year how caught up to her.
Tracey checked her watch and slightly quickened her pace, since they were pretty close to the first greenhouse, which the first years will be in. When Tracey heard the young girl speak, a small smile appeared on Tracey's face. Tracey let the girl who introduced herself as Meiyu finish speaking before Tracey said,
"Well, welcome to Hogwarts! I hope you enjoy it here! Indeed this school is pretty big. It took me almost half a year to get used to the school. You'll be in greenhouse one this whole year, I'll be in greenhouse two, the greenhouses go by years, so you won't be going into any of the other greenhouses until you become that year. Nice to meet you, Meiyu. How's Gryffindor treating you so far? My mother was a Gryffindor. Ah, if we both get yelled at for being late, it'll be a good thing, I guess, since not only one of us got yelled at, but it's not really ideal to get yelled at. Oops, sorry, I said a bit much,"
Tracey tended to ramble a bit, but usually if she had her kitten Tiger with her, or if she knew the person she was talking to will be a good person to hangout with. But in this case, Tracey was sorta telling the young Gryffindor what she remembers from last year.

Meiyu's pace quickened, through a quick scan of her surroundings, she noted Tracey checking her watch and increasing her pace, which Meiyu mimicked. She had assumed that they were both running later than expected, though it could not be helped with how big the castle actually was.
Without realising, she had begun to nod at each word Tracey had shared, detailing the structure of the greenhouses and how each was assigned to each year group. Meiyu had begun to enjoy Tracey's presence, listening to her older girl as they continued their journey, stifling a giggle at her remark about them both being yelled at.
"I hope we don't get yelled at, though it is expected. I never expected the castle to be this...big?" she trailed, yet also questioned. She had heard stories previously about how easy it was to get lost within the castle, but the young girl had prided herself in typically being punctual.
"So far so good, my mother was a Ravenclaw when she attended, though her family are all Slytherin alumni so being a Gryffindor was quite the shock you'd understand." Meiyu nodded with a slight sigh, she didn't mind how Tracey had begun to ramble, she had already felt as though she had met a mentor figure and had hoped the two would remain in contact during the year. She did enjoy her presence.
It was not long until the pair had arrived at their location, the greenhouses appeared hidden away within the fortresses main walls, it was a surprise to Meiyu that she had struggled to find its location. Upon arrival, Meiyu turned to Tracey, smiling as wide as she could to convey her gratitude. "Thank you for your help, I'm slightly nervous going in, but it was nice to meet you and I hope we can meet again if the time is right." The young girl expressed, only to turn towards the greenhouse doors, gently push them to peek her head in, all heads had turned to her, causing Meiyu to gulp before striding in, quickly apologising for her tardiness and making her way to an empty spot by the workbenches.

With the quickened pace by both girls, it didn't take them long to reach the first greenhouse, where Meiyu will be in for the whole year. As they continued walking towards the greenhouses, Tracey heard Meiyu reply, she listened before saying,
"I was thinking the exact same thing last year! This castle really is big! But you do get used to it. Who knows, I might even get lost myself! Though we'll get yelled at, hopefully no detention, but I'm sure none of our professors are that mean,"
Tracey hadn't gotten detention before ever, and she hopes that this year she won't be getting into detention, she wants to have a clean record, but we'll see.
When they were closer to the greenhouses, Tracey heard Meiyu speak again, so, Tracey listened before she said,
"Oh, wow, guess you and your mum both weren't sorted into Slytherin. My mum was sorted into Gryffindor and my dad was sorted into Slytherin, and well, I'm a Ravenclaw, and if I did have a sibling, it'll be funny if they got into Hufflepuff, but I'm an only child,"
As Tracey had said that, the two of them had reached the greenhouses. Tracey was a bit sad, but didn't show it, that they had already arrived, but it was also a good thing, since that'll mean Meiyu won't be as late as Tracey will be. Before Tracey left and before Meiyu went in she said,
"Your very welcome! I hope we can see each other too. Perhaps we can study together? You could also always owl me. I hope to see you around, bye!"
After Tracey waved, she turned around and ran back to the castle and ran as fast as she can to the dungeons and before she entered the potions classroom, she collected her breath before entering the already full classroom.

With the tedious day coming to an end, Meiyu was more than eager to reside in her dorm room. Naturally, one would expect a day of classes to be tiring to the extend they would feel their brain turn into mush, Meiyu on the other hand, felt as though she had endured the epitome of mental ache, especially after receiving a scolding for being late to her Herbology class earlier on. Despite explaining to the professor she was lost, it was no excuse, Meiyu had opted to quietly scoff and resume with the lesson she had rudely interrupted, allegedly, according to the professor.
Classes being done for the day meant Meiyu was free to roam the castle once more, confidently striding through the corridors until she noticed the familiar face who had been her saviour a few hours prior. Had the pair not accidentally crossed paths, Meiyu would have most likely landed in detention this evening, repeatedly writing useless lines such as 'I will make sure to plan my time accordingly' on her precious parchment. Which in the bitter young girls opinion, truly would have been a waste of parchment.
"Tracey!" The young girl exclaimed with excitement, taking quick strides to reach the older Ravenclaw who had presumably also finished her final class of the day. "What are your plans this evening?" She inquired, almost cringing internally at how eager she sounded to speak to the girl, yet truthfully she did owe the girl her gratitude, had it not been for her, the day could have had a different outcome.

Classes had just finished for the day, and luckily, Tracey doesn't get detention! But, she did get sorta yelled at for being late, but when Tracey had explained that she had helped a lost first year find her class, the potions professor forgave her for being late and even smiled at her! Which, she Tracey a bit confused, but she also smiled back.
Anyways, the second year was currently walking towards the grand staircase in order to reach Ravenclaw tower and play with her little kitten, but as she was walking, she heard footsteps approach her and a very familiar voice calling out her name.
Tracey turned towards the direction of the voice and a big smile appeared on her face, happy to see Meiyu again, since she really did want to hangout with the younger girl. Upon hearing Meiyu's question, Tracey shook her head before saying,
"Meiyu! I'm so excited to see you again! Both of us have no detention! Ah, my plans? I was going to go back to Ravenclaw tower and get my two year old kitten, Tiger, from my dorm and play with him, but other than that, I wasn't really doing to do anything else. Would you like to meet Tiger?"

WC: 274Avis slowly made her way down the grand staircase, her legs tired after a long second day of classes spread throughout the castle. The day hadn't been terrible. She'd made it to all her classes on time thanks to her older brother putting together a rough map of the castle for her, but unfortunately, she'd dozed off during Herbology class and had missed the homework assignment due at the beginning of next class.
She supposed she would just have to take the long walk back to the greenhouses to ask the professor what she'd missed at the risk of a poor listener reputation for the rest of the year, but Avis was determined to stay on top of homework.
She reached the bottom of the stairs and was about to continue on down the corridor when she noticed a familiar face from her Herbology class earlier that day. Meiyu, as she recalled from the professor giving her an earful for being tardy, stood next to another older student and they were chatting amicably. Avis had no desire to interrupt but she was desperate and she did not want to walk all the way back to the greenhouse, longing for a nap in her dorm room before dinner.
She decided to approach the pair, so she took a few steps forward and cleared her throat nervously.
"Hi, sorry to interrupt," she started and turned to face Meiyu."I just recognize you from Herbology class and I was wondering, well, would you happen to remember the homework from today? I may have dozed off towards the end of class and I missed what the professor assigned."

The moment Tracey had disclosed the information about the ownership of a cat, Meiyu was interested. Through her earlier youth the young girl had always longed for her own pet, despite her parents disapproval. Prior to the opportunity to answer, the two were interrupted by Meiyu's classmate, a student she had yet to engage with despite sharing a majority of their classes together.
The young girl blankly stared at the Ravenclaw, struggling to bring a name to the face, had her parents seen her in this manner, it was undoubtable she would receive punishment. It had been embedded in the eldest Xiang the significance of being well familiarised, particularly if it came to peers.
"Avis, is it?" As though a lightbulb swiftly came to her, though truthfully it was the fear and shame of failing to recognise her own classmate. "Truthfully, I didn't pay much attention, the moment Tracey mentioned her cat, the tedious homework assignments left my mind." She pouted in faux annoyance, her attention shifted back to Tracey, quickly asking, "Perhaps Avis could assist us? Meeting animals is always...fun?" Meiyu nodded instinctively, the mere thought of dedicating her evening to completing the assigned homework tasks equated to a chore, particularly after the earful she had received earlier on her tardiness, which was not her fault.
Irregardless, she knew she would prefer spending her evening doing anything other than homework.
