The Ravenclaw Table 2024-2025

So far Jada wasn't able to talk to anyone. She was so scared she never talked to anyone else around her age except her little sister. She looked around and saw that all the other students were getting along and chatting about random things. " Why is so hard to talk to people" she whispered under her breath. Maybe the other students though she was weird. I mean she did sit down and randomly started reading a book or maybe she looked mean. She was thinking about all the possible outcomes.
Maybe her parents were right maybe she did need to stay homeschooled. The main reason she came her was to finally meet people her age, yet she was scared to even say anything. She started silently crying. She hated other people seeing her cry, but she couldn't help it. She wanted to go home and hug her mom and dad and tell them they were right. She wasn't ready. She wished someone would tell her everything was ok or find someone else who's also scared like her. "I want to go home" she said as the tears started to roll down faster. She put her head down and started crying some more. Hoping that no one would pay attention to her because she didn't want anyone's first impression of her to be a crybaby.

The Ravenclaw Table 2024-2025
Maya walked into the hall with all the other first years. Her gaze darted across the 4 long tables. She looked up to see the ceiling laced with candles. Floating. They all stopped and her eyes moved to a stool with a rusty, dirty looking hat. The first years all glanced at each other until a name was called. It was her name “Jones Maya” was shouted loudly. Maya hesitantly stepped forward. Her nerves overwhelming she had not looked at her books, nor had she learnt anything about this process. Her father just said you get sorted into a house.

As she stepped up and sat on the stool, all eyes were on her. The hat went on her head and spoke in her ear. Until “RAVENCLAW” The hat shouted. Maya stood up “Ravenclaw” she muttered to herself as she walked towards the table and sat down slowly. Thankful that her turn was over. She watched as the rest of the first years got sorted. Her smile growing every time a new person joined Ravenclaw. She shook hands with others greeting them with a kind “hello, im Maya” basic but for now with all the overwhelming feelings it was all she could muster. Eventually the food appeared and she dived in her eyes widening in shock as she’d never seen so much food before.

RAVENCLAW!

The hat boomed over the great hall, cheers and 'woos' errupting from all the tables, especially from the Ravenclaws.

Sabrina smiled so wide she thought her face might slip in two as she jumped off the stool, throwing a quick 'thank you' over the shoulder (adressed to who, she wasn't really sure), running to her new house-mates

She resieved a handful of high-fives, back pats and even a few hugs. She ploped down in a free spot, almost boucing with excitement as she sat.

It wasn't long before the hat boomed again, and from how the Griffindor students celebrated, she supposed it was a new addition to herself

She herself hardly paid attention to the ceremony, chatting with a few near by students, not really succeeding at starting a longer conversation, but she didnt mind!

Because she was at Hogwarts, surrounded with wizards and magic, feeling the power of it more than she ever had before. It was like it blew a new wind into her lungs and she felt alive, if not a littly lightheaded

RAVENCLAW!

She suddenly heared, imidietly leaning over the table to see through the cheering students.

It was a small tanned girl with long brown hair that bounced as she walked over to the Ravenclaw table (@Maya Jones)

To Sabrinas disapoinment the girl sat down a few students away, so she couldnt greet her just yet. She seemed kind, and Sabrina took a mental note to seek her out later. Maybe they could become friends.

Tne sorting went on and Sabrina cheered loudly with all the other Ravenclaws when she heared their houses name, already beaming with house pride

As the food appeared her mouth fell open again. It looked incredible and smelled even better.

RAVENCLAW!

Finally feeling like Nina belongs somewhere, she takes place at the long Ravenclaw table. Nina was happy to find other people clapping and excited to see new first-year students joining their house. Looking around it's not just for her, but the excitement is all around.

As she takes a seat next to a tanned girl with long brown hair, she hears a soft voice softly next to her. “hello, I'm Maya.” As Maya puts her hand forward, Nina shakes hers and responds, "hello, I'm Seraphina, but please call me Nina." Smiling back at her, a little scared but happy to be here.

The last of the new first years are sorted, and dinner is starting. All around, new foods are appearing on the tables. Different kinds of potato's, meats and vegetables. She had heard stories from her parents, grandmother and read all about Hogwarts, but still, it all seems fascinating. It's enchanted ceiling, a space filled with the chatter of young students, the clatter of plates, and the aroma of delicious food, embodying the spirit of school life and magical camaraderie. It's a place of memories and magic.

Taking her first bite, she thought to herself, 'I can't wait to explore and start my first lessons.'

Tristram could only offer an enthused laugh towards the announcement made by the sorting hat, hopping off of the stool and directing his sincerest thanks its way for hearing him out. He strides proudly to the end of the table, returning any and all high-fives from his new housemates, eventually coming to settle into the nearest seat available. Now that it was all settled, he took to idly chatting with whoever was closest to him until it came about time for dinner.

Seriously, how much cooler could this all get? He found himself thankful that his parents had saved him the details except for what he absolutely needed to know, as every discovery today had him slowly reaching a fever pitch. It hadn't even been a full twenty-four hours and he already found himself ranking the experience higher than his entirety of muggle schooling.

Spearing a forkful of ham, Tristram would address the other First Years surrounding him with a question, curiosity visibly etched across his features. "So, what do you guys think we'll be learning first? Hopefully it's something neat to really set the tone for the year." He offers with a beaming grin, though realizing that he'd forgotten something important immediately after. "Oh! I'm Tristram, by the way. Nice to meet you all." He introduces, not wanting to possibly risk being rude.

Sabrina was almost boucing with excitement as she sat down behind the long wooden table

RAVENCLAW!

Thats what the hat said. Thats where she belonged. She had succesfully high-fived and shook hands with everyone that was willing to do so.

Looking around she took a deep breath, straightening (maybe a bit too much) and puffing out her chest

She wasn't a member for even 10 minutes and she could already feel the house-pride rooting in her.

The feeling was warm, spreading all through her body, making her feel safe and welcome. It felt great. It felt like home.

Once the food had appeared (which was a whole new wave of eufiria on its own) she took to chatting with the students sitting next to her, most of them being older, welcoming her into their house and telling her all about it.

One of the older boys was just giving her tips on where to sit in what classes when she heared another person voice a question over the table.

Turning her head she saw a raven haired boy, looking around her age.

"So, what do you guys think we'll be learning first? Hopefully it's something neat to really set the tone for the year."

He asked, comfirming her theory of him being a first year.

She chuckled when he quickly went to introduce himself, smiling brightly at him

"Oh its all in the syllabuses! I already read through them, and- omg I just can't wait for classes to start, especially potions!"

She rambled on, excited to share her thoughts, hands gesturing wildly as always.

Standing up, she lean over the table, offering him her hand

"- I am Sabrina, it's so nice to meet you!"

Maya felt her nerves shoot up as she walked towards the ravenclaw table. Eyes staring at her but as she found a seat she passed a young girl with short brown hair who smiled softly at her. She seemed nice Maya thought but unfortunately she sat too far away to make conversation. She made a mental note in her head to find that girl and speak to her again @Sabrina Lyons]

She then sat down across from a kind looking redhead girl. Feeling a surge of confidence Maya smiled softly and outstretched her hand towards the girl “hello, im Maya” she said in a soft tone smiling widely as she spoke. The redhead girl spoke nervously as she shook Maya’s hand “Hello, im seraphina, but please call me Nina” she responded back. Maya made a mental note of that hoping she had made a potential friend. @Seraphina Meier

As she began to eat the food her stomach begging as it rumbled she turned to her left to see a raven haired boy sat next to her. “Hello, I’m Maya” she said kindly introducing herself to everyone. She continued to eat enjoying the food @Tristam Drewitt

She continued to eat the food. When the plates suddenly vanished and plates of dessert and fruit appeared she looked at the food with a gleeful expression on her face and smiled softly

The transition from having the whole Hall stare at you to just a single table was refreshing. The applauds and cheers continued all the way till Steven got to the table. He felt like a pro athlete walking out of the tunnel by the way he was greeted with high-fives and handshakes. With all the attention from his new housemates Steven couldn't help but blush.

He spotted a couple of the new faces he watched get sorted already talking at the table, and took a seat not too far away. He was going to introduce himself, but they were already in conversation and he didn't want to be rude. They were in the same house after all, plenty of time for introductions. His stomach however, wanted a word as it let out a growl. The day had been so eventful that Steven forgotten he hadn't eaten since breakfast.

Before he knew it a wave of aromas filled the Great Hall as plates of every food you could imagine appeared down the tables. Steven joined in as one of the first years who let out a gasp at this view. Now this was magic. Steven thought to himself as he didn't hesitate to make himself a plate.

Tracey was back at Hogwarts for her second year, and she was glad she could just go straight to her house table. Tracey sat somewhat in the middle of the table, and she watched the sorting. As she was watching the sorting, Tracey began to wonder whether or not the first years were nervous about which house they'll be in, or if they were excited to find out what house they'll be in, or if they already knew the house they'll be in.

Last year, Tracey had no idea what house she'd be placed in, so she was fairly nervous, but when she found out she was placed in Ravenclaw, she was happy, since she knew it'll be a perfect fit for her. Tracey noticed as first years joined the Ravenclaw table, and she smiled at them. She also noticed that some first years were able chatting amongst each other, so Tracey decided to address the boy that had just joined the table.

"Welcome, are you excited to be in Ravenclaw?" Tracey says to the younger boy before the food came out.

Even though this was her second year at Hogwarts, and she should be used to this now, she couldn't help but be amazed when the food suddenly arrived. She helped herself to some food as she made herself a plate, and slowly began to eat, since she wasn't sure if the boy would respond back to her or not.

The sound of the cheers guided Geraldine to the table. She knew they were instinctively cheering for a new member as always, but she was really self-conscious about whether they were actually cheering for HER specifically. It wasn't something she should dwell on. She maintained a smile for however many people were looking at her directly, she couldn't let her appear weaker than she was. This was the place she was going to be for seven years, actually a rather small portion of her life, though that's not something most children would consider, since it's still a larger portion of that.

As expected for a magical school, the table itself was also magical. She knew it because one moment there was the normal table smell, and then there were multiple aromas of the varying degrees of food. She needed to learn how 'real' the food was, though that started the debate over how 'real' magic was in general. For the moment if it was provided, she would eat it. It was during this moment she realised, she was actually at a real school. She had been home-schooled up until now. Basically everything she ate was with her father. There were some rare cases without, but usually it was still an extended family member.

"Remarkable food they serve here. I hope it's as good everyday," Geraldine said this to no one in particular, she just needed to make it clear that she was not some broody loner.

Object Permanence persists darkness.
